Baba

PS intro: This below Prabhat Samgiita, song #324, is a neo-humanistic
song given by Baba on 10 March 1983. Thereafter Baba expressed this same
theme in His RU address and DMC discourse of 28 and 29 May,
respectively. In both those discourses He has given the same type of
idea but in greater detail. However, as the DMC speech has still not
been translated into English, a portion of Baba’s RU speech is cited
below, after the purport of the song. In that RU address, Baba is
specifically telling that everything is the expression of Parama Purusa:
He is expressing Himself throughout this manifested universe. That is
the central idea of His RU discourse and Prabhat Samgiita #324 is based
on this same concept.

“Moder dhara’ ru’pe peyeche toma’r ru’per sa’je…” (PS 324)

Purport:

O’ Lord, this world has become beautiful because of Your infinite
charm. That is why I behold You everywhere in all Your creations. When I
look at any expression then I see that You are there. You are expressing
Yourself in that form. Baba, You are expressing Your grandeur in the
form of all these created entities– animate and inanimate. Baba, You
Yourself are One but Your expressions are many. You express Yourself in
innumerable shapes and forms. You are hiding within Your creation.

Baba, You are present everywhere– in all the flows. Nothing is
outside Your mental arena; everything is within the purview of Your
mind. That is why nothing is ever lost. I am in Your mind and I do
according to Your desires. This entire creation is in Your mind and I am
one part of that. I am working according to Your exact wish. Because
this entire creation is Your thought projection.

Baba, You are present in each and every thought. Whatever human
beings think is known to You since You are the Witnessing Entity of that
thought process. Baba, You are very vast: Everything is in Your mind.
Baba, You are very small: You are present in everyone’s thoughts. Baba,
You are smaller than the smallest and bigger than the biggest. Baba,
even by mistake I do not think that besides You anything else exists.
You are everything.

Baba, by Your grace I always think that You are the quintessence…

Note 1: Here is a portion of Baba’s RU address of 28 May 1983 wherein He
is expressing this same type of idea as has been expressed in the above
song.

Baba says, “Neohumanism includes within its scope not only human beings
and animate creatures, such as plants and animals, but all inanimate
entities as well, for the scope of Neohumanism extends down to the
smallest particles of sub-atomic matter… Why should the love and
affection of developed human minds be restricted to human beings only?
Why should it not include all living beings, including plant life? This
is the new explanation of humanism – neohumanism – for within
neohumanism the entire animate world is included…And that golden day
is sure to come when that perfect stage of structure, that is, unit
existence in the intra-atomic world, will be reached, when human
intuition will realize that the essence in the sub-atomic world is pure
Consciousness.” (NHNS-1)

Note 2: Materialists think that everything comes from matter while
Baba’s AM philosophy states that everything comes from Brahma. This then
is the fundamental difference between the crude world view of
materialism and our spiritual outlook. Needless to say, our spiritual
perspective changes our whole view of this universe as well as our
relation with it. Materialists think that the world is for their
self-satisfaction only whereas in AM we think that we have come to this
world to serve others since all are the expression of Parama Purusa.

== THE ALL-IMPORTANT POINT OF ISTA ==

Namaskar,
Each and every A’nanda Ma’rgii is aware that the point of Ista is one of
our Sixteen Points. Specifically it is point #10.

Baba says, “Observe non-compromising strictness and faith regarding the
sanctity of Ista.” (Pt #10 of Sixteen Points)

So everyone is aware that this point of Is’t’a is included within His
guidelines, but even then it may be exactly clear what it means.

STRAIGHT-FORWARD MEANING OF OTHER POINTS

In comparison, many of the other aspects of Sixteen Points are
comparatively much more straight forward. Such as point #1: “After
urination wash the urinary organ with water.” This point does not need a
lot of explanation to understand the meaning. No one is confused or in
doubt about the meaning of this point.

And same can be said about so many of the aspects of Sixteen Points such
as:

“Do not cut the hair of the joints of the body” (#3)
or
“Regular participation in the weekly dharmacakra at the local
jagrti should be considered mandatory” (#15).

Both of these above points are quite literal and easy to understand. It
is readily apparent as to what the meaning is and what one is to do.
Indeed most if not all of the Sixteen Points are like this.

THE POINT OF IS’T’A IS LIKE A SUTRA

However the point of Is’t’a is less defined– less specific. Naturally
one may wonder then what exactly does it mean.

To get the answer then one must treat this point #10 of Sixteen Points
like a sutra. To understand its full meaning it is necessary to take
help of Baba’s other discourses. Because the point of Is’t’a is itself
extremely dense and is not at all explanatory– not descriptive. By the
wording itself, it is not evident what it means to be strict in Ista.
In that case point #10 of Sixteen Points must be treated like a sutra
since an explanation of this point has to be found in other places of
His vast body of teachings.

ONE VERY IMPORTANT EXPLANATION OF THE ISTA POINT

Certainly there are many ways and interpretations of this point of Ista,
such as in His discourse titled ‘Ista & Adarsha’ as well as in the
‘Seven Secrets of Success’ discourse where Baba elaborate on the point
of Shraddha’– deep reverence for the Goal. These are all important
places to gain a deeper understanding about what it means to follow
point #10 of Sixteen Points: “Non-compromising strictness and faith
regarding the sanctity of Is’t’a.”

In addition here below Baba gives us deep insight as to what it means to
be established in Is’t’a.

Baba says, “When people are established in devotion, they attain a state
called is’t’a nis’t’a— devotion for one’s goal. In that stage there is
but one dominant thought: ‘Whatever I do, be it social, political or
socio-economic service, the motivating thought in my mind will be to
please Parama Purus’a’.” (AV-8, p.101)

ANSWER IS IS’T’A NIS’T’A: DOING TO PLEASE HIM

By Baba’s above teaching of Is’t’a nis’t’a, we can understand that one
is established in the point of Ista when one does each and every thing
in order to please Him. That is the key point and the defining factor.

So throughout the day all our activities and duties are to be done with
this singular aim in mind– to please Him. This is the secret of Is’t’a
nis’t’a.

Thus whether we are bathing, taking food, doing sadhana, reading
svadhyaya, raising our family, engaging in business, or organising
social service projects, everything should be done with the sole motive
of pleasing Him. We are doing these things to make Him happy. This pure
intention must be the only guiding force in our engagement. Then alone
can it be termed as Is’t’a nis’t’a.

And Is’t’a nis’t’a– doing to please Him– is what it means to be
established in Ista, according to Baba’s above teaching.

MOST DO FOR SELF-SATISFACTION

At the same time it has to be recognised that being truly established in
Is’t’a nis’t’a is not an ordinary affair.

Because in their general dealings and movements in life, people are
mostly if not always guided by their own selfish desires. That is the
overriding idea behind the bulk of their actions: selfish pleasure. Some
fall into this predicament to a greater degree than others. But it is a
fairly pervasive tendency.

For example one degraded person who visits a prostitute house is
obviously sunk in this principle of selfish pleasure. But not only him,
often people in our Marga perform social service work also with the idea
to gain some self-satisfaction, i.e. to get some lift and pump
themselves. By doing that service work they derive some ego
satisfaction. This also happens.

Here the point is not to lump anyone’s service work in the same category
as visiting a prostitution shop. Only the point is that it is not the
activity in and of itself that dictates whether one is established in
Is’t’a nis’t’a or not. What qualifies whether one is established in ista
nista is the idea or motivating factor behind one’s action. If one is
doing solely to please Him, then that is Ista nista, otherwise not.

ISTA NISTA IS OUR MEASURING ROD

By analysing the motive behind their actions, everyone can freely
determine how far they are established in the point of Ista. If one is
doing to please Him then they are marching ahead on this sacred pathway
and if one is doing for some other reason then they are not established
in Ista. Baba’s definition is very clear cut about this.

So with full sincerity we should use this measuring rod of Ista nista to
gauge our intention behind our every action or work. By this way one can
understand how far they are strict in Ista or not.

And then with renewed efforts we can again take His name and ensconce
our minds in His thought and move ahead. So we should always try to
understand what is the motivating factor in our actions and
simultaneously infuse more and more devotional feeling in our lives by
sincerely doing our prescribed practices of bhakti yoga etc.

Through this dual approach one is sure to get more established in the
point of Ista. And the key point behind it all is to sincerely evaluate
one’s own actions and not try to befool oneself. If one is honest with
themselves then they can surely progress on the path of ista nista.

SURE PATHWAY TO SUCCESS

May our each and every action begin with the sincere desire of pleasing
Him. With this pure intention in mind, success is sure. This is Baba’s
blessing on us all.

Baba says, “You too should keep moving forward, and you will also attain
victory after victory – there is no doubt about it. Therefore continue
your efforts tirelessly, do your duty and you will surely be crowned
with success.” (SS-18)

Namaskar,
Hitendra

Note: MORE ON THE POINT OF ISTA

Here Baba tells more about this all-important point of Ista.

Baba says, “There are many meanings of this word “Is´t´a.” One is the
fulfillment of the goal. In other words, by ideating on Him, all sorrows
of the mind and bad thoughts go away. That is called “Is´t´a.” Ideology
is an impersonal element. To go toward “Is´t´a,” we need only love;
whereas to follow an ideology we need courage and efforts. If we have
love for our Lord, then we do not need anything else. We cannot get
devotion by going to pilgrimages. The minimum requirement for getting
devotion is the human mind. By simply exerting little efforts, you get
development. If you desire devotion, you will get it. If you have love
for the Supreme, you will get established in your “Is´t´a”.” (23
November 1971 DMC, Purnea)

******************************************
Proper Plan of Life

Baba is revealing how ignorant, short-sighted people think and plan in
their dogmatic way.

Baba says, “Some people consider that one should start intuitional practice
in old age when a person has more leisure, after one has spent the prime of
one’s life earning money. People are afraid that they may face insecurity
and difficulties in their old age if they do not accumulate enough wealth
before their bodies weaken with age, rendering them incapable of hard work.
They regard the prime of life as the period intended for earning money, and
old age with its decreased capacity for hard work as the time to remember
God. They are labouring under the misconception that hard work is not
necessary for intuitional practice and that old age is therefore the proper
time for it.” (AMEP, ’98, p.131-32)

Now here following Baba is giving the answer.

Baba says, “Whoever is born is bound to die and one is constantly
approaching death, not knowing when it will come. It is never certain if
one will live to grow old. Yet people reserve the most important work of
practising sa’dhana’ for the time when the body has become completely
enfeebled and the fatuous mind of old age has become entangled in the
reactions of this life to such an extent that it is afraid of starting
anything new. Ordinarily it is fear of one’s approaching death that makes
one think of God in old age. One’s evil deeds begin to haunt one, and one
starts praying and imploring God to save him or her from the consequences
of one’s deeds. There is no value in remembering God in old age, when it is
not possible to concentrate the mind due to the weakness and disease of the
body and its preoccupation with the reactions (sam’ska’ras) of the deeds of
this life. The mind then is caught up in the infirmities of the body, in
the diseases of old age, impending death, and most of all, in memories of
past incidents, and it is impossible to concentrate it. For these reasons
one is incapable of intuitional practice.” (AMEP, ’98, p.132)

Note: This problem is such a common ailment that 99.9% of the people in the
present society are caught up in this whirlpool. And by this way their
whole life gets wasted. It is our duty to think again and again and reach
the conclusion about what is the best approach to utilise this priceless
human life.

Subject: Get Ready for 2010 Election: Fake BP Manual

Baba

“Lukiye path cala’ ekii liila’, lokalocane keno na’hi a’so…” (P.S. 3698)

Purport:

Baba, You are Ajana Pathik, You are the most loving One who moves
throughout this vast universe doing everything but in Your journey You
always keep Yourself hidden. You move around secretly. Baba, You do all
the things but nobody can see You; You do not like to come within the
field of vision.

O’ my Dearmost, to whom You love, they want to search You in their
mind; they want to hold You in their heart by the process of shravan,
manan, niddhidhya’san & dhyana. But in Your divine liila You do not like
to be seen. You go on moving secretly. Why like this. Why is Your style
so secretive? Baba, You do not like to move around following the
straight, clear-cut path whereby everyone can see You. That type of
movement You do not do.

Baba, the eternal truth of straightforwardness which has been
established since ages, even a wee-bit of that You do not follow in Your
movement. Rather everything You do in hidden fashion.

O’ my Revered One, it may be also possible that my understanding is
not complete so that I do not properly comprehend You. Baba, by the
ordinary measuring scale You are immeasurable. If anyone wants to
understand You and get You, then You escape and never get held. Then
remaining distant, You just smile.

Baba, what type of liila is this. You go on doing everything while
remaining hidden, out of my grasp. O’ Baba, I long for You and surrender
at Your alter…

== FAKE BP MANUAL & WEAPON OF EXPULSION ==

Namaskar,
This entire letter looks at how the Fake Bhukti Pradhan Manual issued in
1997 has been used as a weapon by groupist leaders to destroy the BP post.

After all, despite all the troubles going on in the organisation, we
must not let this critical matter slip by. It has already been 12+ years
and still the matter has not been rectified. How long are we going to
allow this to linger. Together, with a concerted effort, we must keeping
bringing this matter to light. Without that, the integrity of the BP
post will never be restored.

Remember, starting January 2010, new BP elections will begin in units
all around the globe. Certainly the ruling regime will desire to use
this Fake Manual. As Ananda Margiis, we should insist that Baba’s
original BP manual be followed instead.

Here is more about this critical issue.

BABA’S REVOLUTIONARY APPROACH: CREATI0N OF BP POST

Everybody knows that the Bhukti Pradhan (BP) post is part and parcel of
a unique system given by Baba wherein family people are actively
involved in the leadership of a dharma organisation (AMPS). In the past
no pseudo guru had the courage or vision to put forth such an idea. Only
our all-knowing Sadguru Baba has put the plan in motion that all
people– whether sannyasis or family people– should be actively
involved in the administration of a spiritual organisation, thereby
bringing dharma to the masses. Such is the revolutionary approach of the
BP system given by Baba.

STATE OF BP POST AT PRESENT

However at present in AMPS, our Bhukti Pradhan system is in a state of
shambles. This also everyone recognises. The BP post has become a
non-entity in AMPS life whereby those margiis who oppose the leading
faction are ousted from the BP position. In that way so many BP’s are
either marginalised or just sit on the BP chair as a stooge of the
ruling group. All acknowledge that in today’s social milieu of extreme
groupism, the voice box of the BP has been shut.

WHAT IS THE CAUSE OF THE DOWNFALL OF THE BP POST

The next question then becomes how did all this happen. And while there
are various factors involved, it cannot be denied that when the groupist
rulers threw away Baba’s original BP guidelines and instead created
their own Fake BP Manual (’97), then that became one distinct cause of
the downfall of the BP post. Because that Fake BP Manual (’97) contains
so many wrong rules which allow the ruling group to turn the BP post
into a mere puppet position etc.

Even then in the minds of some it is not clear how all this is
happening. A few are not understanding how the Fake Manual is used by
factional leaders to control the BP post. Thus to help bring the matter
into the open foreground and make it crystal clear, various margiis have
decided to address points one at a time from the Fake BP Manual in order
to show how the Fake BP manual contravenes our pristine AM ideology.
This letter begins that series.

BABA’S DIVINE TEACHING: NO EXPULSION

As we all know, one of the first and foremost tenets of our AM society
is that it incorporates one and all. Everyone is looked upon as a child
of the Supreme and a member of our human family.

In that light Baba has firmly declared that no one can be expelled from
AMPS. In our AM way of life there is no such thing as expulsion.

Baba says, “Ananda Marga has formed a society which frames its laws on
the basis of common ideals in order to develop the idea of one-ness of
all humanity. This society is radically different from any existing
society, for it provides a society with a common bond where there is no
distinction between class or sex, where no one is declared an
outcast…” (AFPS-7, p.6)

And here below Baba reiterates the same idea: That expulsion is not
accepted in Ananda Marga.

Baba says, “Harsh social punishment such as creating outcasts…do not
find any place in our society.” (AFPS-7, p.6)

So by all this it is clear as day that expulsion, debarment,
disqualification etc are not facets of our AM way of living. That is not
part of our social dharma.

UNIDEOLOGICAL GUIDELINE FROM THE FAKE BP MANUAL

Now let us take a look at but one of the many ways how the Fake Manual
contravenes our AM ideology. First let us remember that expulsion is not
allowed in our Marga. Do you have that idea in mind? Good, now let us
proceed.

Here is one of the unrighteous (adharmic) rules from the Fake BP Manual.

In order to vote or be a BP candidate, the Fake BP Manual declares that:

“He or she must not be expelled.”
(Fake BP Manual 1997, chapter 1, section 13, point #9, pg 12)

Thus in clear cut language the groupist rulers have put forth the crude
edict that no one may vote in the BP election or run for the BP post if
they have been expelled. So the Manual makes the false assumption that
expulsion is legal.

Yet we all know that according to Baba expulsion is not allowed in AMPS.

So the Fake BP Manual clearly ignores Baba’s dharmic teaching and puts
forth the unjust & fake policy that expulsion is allowed and that if
anyone is expelled then they cannot participate in the BP elections–
neither as a candidate nor as a voter. This is the type of outrageous
manipulation that is rampant throughout the Fake BP Manual. Please refer
to Note #2 after the signature for more info.

And in their groupist policy-making schema this is what the groupists do.

If factional heads feel that any margii is not accepting their
dictatorial and unholy leadership then that margii will be “expelled”
and forbidden to participate in the BP election process.

So when courageous & dharmic margiis or BPs protest against groupist
wrongdoings then the factional leaders expel them and point to chapter
1, section 13, point #9, pg 12 of their Fake BP Manual and declare that
“expelled” margii ineligible to participate in the BP elections or hold
the post of BP.

Indeed there are innumerable cases where this has occurred and if we are
not careful this devious rule will be invoked thousands of more times in
the future.

Thus in the past Rudrananda’s faction or Sarvatmananda’s faction has
used expulsion as a way to railroad BP elections and control the BP
post. And what is their justifcation: chapter 1, section 13, point #9,
pg 12 of their Fake BP Manual. And so long as this obscene rule exists,
in the future any groupist leader will take advantage of this unholy rule.

A RECURRING SCENE

So when the upcoming BP elections are going one from one election after
another– 1998, 2001, 2004, 2007– using this Fake Manual the we all must
be informed and ready to dismiss all the fake rules which factional
leaders have slipped into their Fake BP Manual. Because now we see that
whichever groupist regime is in power during the BP elections, then they
will invariably rely on the Fake Manual to manipulate the course of
events– once again rendering the BP post as a useless position.

When in fact we all know that the post of Bhukti Pradhan is an
upstanding seat in our Marga and that the post should be held by a
strong margii who upholds the teachings of dharma. That is Baba’s
teaching and that is Baba’s vision: That the BP chair will play a vital
role in upholding AM ideals.

But this the groupist heads are unwilling to accept. Because they are so
greedy for power that they do not want anyone else to participate in the
governance of AMPS.

As a last reminder, we should all be alert and vigilant as we approach
the upcoming BP elections. We should demand that the Fake BP Manual be
put in the garbage where it belongs and instead Baba’s dharmic BP
guidelines should be implemented.

BABA’S BLESSING

By Baba’s divine grace, the tide is changing and all the dogmatic rules
like those in the Fake BP Manual are being rejected by the people. And a
new phase of peace and harmony has arrived.

Baba says, “Humanity is now at the threshold of a new era. We do not
want any dogma. The age of dogma is gone. What we want is an idea based
on Neohumanism. We are for the entire created world; and not only for
human beings or living beings, but for the entire animate and inanimate
universe.” (AFPS-5)

Namaskar,
Ramendu

Note 1: HOW THE FAKE BP MANUAL CAME INTO EXISTENCE

Everyone knows that Sarvatmanandji’s name itself is printed in bold
letters on the inside cover of the Fake BP Manual. Because in those days
the B bandits were still in power and they gave the important ISMUB Secy
post to their captain, Sarvatmananda. That is why where it says
“published by” then Sarvatmananda’s name appears. Because he is the one
who first published the Fake BP Manual. Of course now Rudrananda is king
of the roost so he is sinfully enjoying all the manipulations of the
Fake BP manual. Rudrananda is using all those crude edicts to satisfy
his groupist agenda. And that is the way it works– whichever group is
in power takes advantage of this fake BP manual.

Note 2: MORE UNIDEOLOGICAL POINTS FROM FAKE BP MANUAL

The following are some of the serious distortions made to the original BP
manual given by Baba. In 1997 a new version of the BP manual was made and
published, which is very different from the original given by Baba. Changes
were made which severely limit Margi rights. Please see some of these
significant changes below that stipulate who can vote and run for the BP
post

(A) Page 12, rule number 6, “clean image…”

But in AM ideology, Baba never talks about superficial things like a
“clean image”. Baba’s only conern is dharmic action and Baba Himself
says on so many occasions that those who follow dharma and oppose
exploitation, then they will not be in the good books of the status quo.
Thus dharmikas will not have a “clean image”. So this point is totally
silly and against AM ideology.

(B) Pg 12, rule 7, “He or she must not have acted against the organisational
unity and solidarity.”

We must remember that organisational solidarity is not the unity we
seek. Baba says unity is ideological unity. Yet when groupists dominate
the organisational channels then they will try and create their own fake
type of unity through “organisational solidarity” as they push their own
selfish agenda. That is the way groupism works. So here again in this
rule, they are merely watching their own backside and not interested in
AM teachings.

(C) Pg 12, rule 9, “He or she must not be expelled or facing any charge or
enquiry on account of organisational impropriety…”

The dogma and cheating in this above rule will be quite apparent to
anyone who has understood the above two points. Basically, with
groupists at the helm, then naturally dharmikas will contest the
factional parties, and those factional parties will chargesheet the
dharmikas in order to protect their power.

(D) Pg 17, rule 6, “…must be capable of maintaining organisational
solidarity…”

When groupists are ruling, “maintaining organisational solidarity” means
being a “yes man” and blindly follow crude rules invented by groupists.
So this rule is also bogus. True unity is ideological unity not unity
around groupist platforms.

And so many more such rules.

Note 3: SCANNED VERSION OF FAKE MANUAL AVAILABLE

If anyone wants a scanned copy of the Fake BP Manual or a scanned copy
of Baba’s original BP guidelines, then simply write in and our office
personnel will get that out to you at the earliest. By this way– by
having the Fake Manual and Baba’s original BP guidelines– then we will
be best informed and properly prepared to ensure the upcoming elections
are carried out in a dharmic manner. That will be a grand step towards
bringing integrity and dignity to the BP post.

*********************************************
Ajapa – Japa & Adhyana – Dhyana

SadGuru Baba says, “If a man constantly chants his japa mantra or
meditates ceaselessly, then the rhythm of this japa, the rhythm that
adores the Guru during dhyana, will act as auto-suggestion during the
time of sleep, although he does not remember it…A sadhaka with this
capacity continues his dhyana and japa even in sleep. This kind of japa
is called “Ajapa’ Japa”; that is to say, without performing japa, one is
actually performing it. And it is called “Adhya’na’ Dhyana”, which means
that without actually meditating, the act of meditation is going on.”
(YP, 1991 Edn, p.150-51)

BABA

“Ma’nus’ yeno ma’nus’er tare sab kichu kare ya’y…” (P.S. 2192)

Purport:

Great persons– proper human beings– do everything in their life for
the upliftment of other human beings. In their mind they also never forget
that animals, birds, and plants also belong in their vast family. For such
sadhakas, no one is alien because in their heart they understand
that each and every being wants to survive & live a happy life.

Why do human beings remain crying, feeling isolated in their own
suffering after losing their path in the Cimmerian darkness. Our love and
care will bring everyone close to us; nobody will be left behind– crying
and suffering in frustration. On this auspicious crimson occasion we will
save everyone and provide them shelter from the burning flame of
illiteracy, starvation, and all kinds of troubles. Elevated human beings
come on this earth to serve everyone, all humanity plus the birds,
animals, plants, flora and fauna, & animate and inanimate objects– the
entire creation…

== CHANAKYA AND PITIFUL SITUATION OF USA ==

Namaskar,
Baba guides us that 2300 years ago a minister clearly warned his kingdom
of the ills of capitalism and gave the solution.

Now, in this modern era, the so-called greatest power on earth suffers
terribly from those very ills pointed out 2300 years ago.

The name of that sagacious minister was Chanakya of the Maurya dynasty.
The name of the county suffering today is the United States of America.

So the very seeds of destruction that now severely threaten to ruin the
seemingly once indomitable force of the USA were well understood by the
keen philosopher-sage Chanakya more then two thousand years ago.

In His Prout discourses, Baba highlights the accuracy and importance of
what Chanakya said, and side by side Baba has given us all the practical
answers for solving the woes of capitalism by establishing the era of
Prout.

BABA’S REVIEW OF CHANAKYA NITI

The famed pundit Chanakya put forth his views on political ethics &
economy in his nitishastra. He warned how the greed of capitalism will
strangle society and bring any kingdom to its knees.

Baba says, “Chanakya said that a business person who becomes extremely
rich is harmful to the state. If a king finds that somebody has become
extremely wealthy, he should reduce the person’s wealth and property by
imposing direct and indirect taxes on them. If he does not do this, the
vaeshyas may destroy the structure of the government unless they can
make it the tool of their exploitation.” (HS-1)

Chanakya predicted that if the greedy capitalists remain unchecked then
they will take over the political arena in order to exploit the masses
and hoard more wealth.

And is that not exactly what we see happening today in the USA. The top
capitalist forces have lobbied for and put into legislation all they
need in order to accumulate huge piles of money, thereby strangling the
remaining 99.9% of society.

The common people in the US cannot get health care, unemployment is
rising, poverty is skyrocketing, housing is in crisis, education is
unaffordable – indeed each and every fundamental aspect of society is
spiraling out of the control. The common people can no longer survive,
yet still the capitalists are strategizing how to get even more money.
Such is the state of affairs in the US and that is the very hell that
Chanakya warned about,long ago.

Chanakya’s initial solution was to tax the wealthy. Yet we see that the
top vaeshyas in the USA have millions of tax loopholes, thus they are
able to evade taxes through fancy paperwork etc.

But that was not the only solution which Chanakya offered. See here
below what he says must be done if the capitalists escape the tax
structure.

Baba says, “Chanakya also said that if the imposition of taxes fails to
stop or control extremely wealthy vaeshyas, the king should poison them
to death through a secret agent.” (HS-1)

So Chanakya mandated that those capitalists should be secretly killed if
they can’t be stopped and continue to exercise their unbridled greed.

Before we pass judgment on Chanakya’s words, let us see what Baba has
said in the very next sentence of His discourse.

Baba says, “These are indeed strong recommendations, but in that age of
social darkness there was no alternative.” (HS-1)

Hence, Baba agrees that in certain circumstances such extreme action is
needed against those rapacious capitalists. Of course, in the present
age, we know that Baba has given Prout – that is our weapon for
combating capitalism. Our approach is not to kill capitalists per but
rather root out the disease of capitalism.

Fortunately back in the day, 2300 years ago, the capitalists heeded
Chanakya’s guidelines and understood they were to give back to the people
– for the cause of social welfare.

Baba says, “[During the time of Chanakya] Vaeshyas received the good
advice that their responsibility was to earn money and undertake
charity, not to hoard wealth.” (HS-1)

Thus, in those days of old those capitalists learned their lesson and
averted disaster. However, such is not the case today.

Baba says, “The vaeshyas of other times and other countries were unable
to fulfill the duties connected with their nature. Because the ignorant
people of ancient times were more religious, the vaeshyas used to
undertake a little charity in the hope of deriving some benefit in their
next life. But today in this age of materialism, vaeshyas are not the
slightest bit interested in undertaking charitable work in this life in
the hope of gaining some benefit in their next life.” (HS-1)

HORRORS OF CAPITALISM IN THE USA

As Baba points out above, today’s vaeshyas have no conscience – neither
in the social nor religious spheres. Due to their purely materialistic
outlook, they only focus on gaining more and more wealth and do not show
the least bit concern about redeeming themselves for the future.

That is why complete hell is mounting in the USA. None should think that
America is the land of glory and freedom.

With each and every passing day, the common people become more and more
shackled by ills of capitalism. They are losing their houses, losing
their jobs, losing their land, losing their savings, and losing each and
every bit of peace and tranquility.

Take a look for yourself:

– “About 39.8 million Americans were living in poverty, up from 37.3
million in 2007. The Census Bureau said the poverty rate — the
percentage of people living in poverty — jumped to 13.2 percent, the
highest level since 1997, from 12.5 percent in 2007. ”

As high as the poverty level is, these numbers are deceiving because
even people “above poverty level” suffer from severe financial woes and
pressures. Right now, the systemic issue is that everyone in the US is
worried about money and scared about the future. All are fighting for
survival – there are no safety nets to protect anyone from falling into
the dark chasm of misfortune.

– “The Census Bureau also said 46.3 million Americans were without
health insurance last year compared to 45.7 million in 2007.”

Clearly the US is not the place to get sick. One in every 5 or 6 people
do not have insurance, and then of those who do hold insurance, often it
is poorly suited to their needs, i.e. it does not cover basic health
issues, certain procedures, or it is so expensive that they have to
struggle hard to pay for it.

Verily, each and every aspect of daily life is becoming more difficult
to manage in the United States – and the problem is only growing. All
these material woes – housing, health care, employment, education etc –
then create a whole new series of issues.

People in the US cannot find mental peace:

– “An estimated 26.2 percent of Americans ages 18 and older — about one
in four adults — suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder in a given
year…Major Depressive Disorder is the leading cause of disability in
the U.S. for ages 15-44.”

-“A national survey has found that more than 8 million adults in the
United States seriously considered suicide last year.”

Thus the horrors of capitalism do not just begin and end in the material
realm – it takes a huge toll on people mentally. At present, the US
population is being crushed: Mental stress, anxiety, worry, depression,
and other psychic ailments are pervasive throughout the land.

Today then we are seeing the grim reality of what Chanakya warned about
– and things are only getting worse.

THE SITUATION OF THE USA:

WHY ONLY GETTING WORSE

There are two basic reasons why things are still turning for the worse
in the United States.

Firstly, the common people do not yet understand that capitalism is bad.
Still people hold the top vaeshyas as being veritable heroes. People
like Bill Gates & Warren Buffet continue to be worshiped and honoured
like sages. Still people want to grow up and become like them. So that
is one problem: People do not know that capitalists are the agents of
hell; the general people in society defend the edicts of capitalism.

The second reason why things are only getting worse in the US is that
the greed of such capitalists knows no end. They are not content merely
to pile up more money than they can use – they want every single penny
until everyone else is totally destitute, nay completely ravaged.

Baba says, “Regarding earning money and hoarding wealth, most vaeshyas
today are pisha’cavats [ghouls]. In Sanskrit pisha’ca means “one who
breaks the neck of an animal and then sucks out all the blood, leaving
only the flesh and bones”.” (HS-1)

So the warnings of Chanakya long ago hold true still today. That is why
in His Prout teachings Baba recognises the work of Chanakya.

At the same time, only Baba has given the expansive teachings of Prout
which can address & solve each and every problem and issue in society.

Our duty is to propagate those ideas in every way possible. People
need to hear the name Prout and learn what it is about. That is the
main aim at present.

BABA’S BLESSING:

PROUT IS THE SOLUTION

By His grace, Baba’s hundreds of Prout discourses show the pathway
toward social equality and economic justice. Baba has given perfect
solutions and that is the only way for the US and other capitalistic
nations to escape the noose of the vaeshyan era as first warned about by
Chanakya.

Baba says, “PROUT is the panacea for the integrated progress of human
society. It aims to bring about equilibrium and equipoise in all aspects
of socio-economic life through totally restructuring economics. Without
PROUT, socio-economic emancipation will remain a utopian dream. Only
PROUT can save the world from depression.”

“Furthermore, only PROUT is free from the inherent and exherent
staticity. In capitalism there is exherent and inherent staticity. In
communism there is extensive and intensive innate staticity. People
suffer from the ailments of staticity. These ailments will destroy all
forms of “isms” in the very near future. Wise people should utilize this
moment.”

“We are near the last stage of the Vaeshya Era. If an impact is created,
it will help the suffering humanity. It is the most opportune moment for
creating an all-round revolution. This is a new sub-theory under
Proutistic theory and may be called gati vijina’na – the science of
dynamics in PROUT.”

Namaskar,
Divyajyoti

Note 1: CAPITALISM DESTROYS THE HUMAN PERSONALITY

One other thing that cannot be overlooked about capitalism is that it
utterly destroys the human personality. People become worse than
animals. Even animals care for one another in their herd, flock, or
group. They all move together. They have their inherent feeling for one
another. Whereas in extreme capitalism this is not the case. Due to
extreme greed, people will cheat even their neighbors, nay their family
members.

One clear-cut and graphic example is this. Animal mothers will always
keep their babies in sight – sleeping together – breast feeding – and
being around them all the time. In contrast, in the top capitalist
nations, a basic trend is that females (we cannot even call them
mothers) are more concerned about their own sex appeal than their
child’s welfare, hence they do not breast feed their children and they
do not keep their children nearby when sleeping. Rather those females
fashion themselves as sex tools for males, and the baby comes as an
after thought. Of course, this does not apply to absolutely everyone,
but it certainly is a pervasive trend in capitalist countries. Some
females have even drowned their own babies if they felt their male lover
would be happier if she did not have babies.

Really the situation of people in the capitalist era is worse than that
of animals in many respects.

Thus in so many ways, the integrity of society gets completely washed
away by the excessive desires, ills, and distorted values of capitalism
/ materialism.

`anusha’sanam’. And what is anusha’sanam? `Hita’rthe sha’sanam ityarthe

Sam’skrta. There is no corresponding English word.” (AV-3 p.30)

BABA

PS Intro: This is one special type of song where Parama Purusa explains to
the devotees what He does– how He carries out His liila.

“A’gun jva’la’te a’si niko a’mi, diipa’valii jva’li man ma’jhe…” (P.S. 421)

Purport:

I, Baba, do not come to light a burning fire in the heart. I come to
light the lamp of devotion in the heart– for that I come. I fill the mind
with divine effulgence– devotion, not fire*.

Even on the rough & jagged path I pour divine sweetness– I make even
the dry heart full of devotion. Even in those trees where flowers do not
come, those places also I decorate with flowers. I change the crude
personality into a divine one. I decorate them with the beauty of devotion.

To the dry heart I bring the warmth of love and devotion. And I give
them inspiration to move towards divinity. This way I bless.

Through the melody and rhythm of song and dance, silently I fill the
remote corner of the heart with love. Indeed I fill the entire universe
with devotion with the medium of song, dance and music– Prabhat Samgiita.
I do not come to ignite the heart with yearning; rather I fill the heart
with devotion.

To those hearts which are frustrated, sunken, and lost, I give them the
strength for their forward movement. I fill up the heart with the bliss so
they can forget their pain and misery and get ensconced in divinity.

I remain with everyone through the ota and prota yoga. I make everyone
aware of this thing by all my actions. I tell this thing in all my work so
that human beings can realise that Parama Purus’a is with them.

I advent of this earth to fill up the heart with devotion…

*Fire= Here fire means that devotees always lovingly accuse Parama Purusa
that ‘I am crying for You yet You just set my heart on fire, with no relief
in sight’. But Parama Purus’a explains that it is not like that; rather He
comes with the explicit motive to fill the mind with devotion…

== OH REALLY – NOT PART OF PROUT ==

Namaskar,
Time and again there is confusion on the point of Baba’s samaj system – which
as we all know is a universal and dharmic approach to uplift all peoples
and create a healthy, dharmic society.

Unfortunately:
– Some use samaj as a euphemism for groupism;
– Some think that samaj is not in line with the principles of Prout;
– Some think that they can create a samaj based on their own
racist tendencies.
– Some think that samajas are formed strictly on the point of language;
– And there are various other misnomers regarding Baba’s divine samaj
theory.

This letter aims to clear up some of these matters and present – albeit in
brief – a few of the key points of samaj.

SAMAJ THEORY IS AN INHERENT POINT OF PROUT

We all know that Baba first propounded Prout in the condensed form which
came in the Idea and Ideology book in 1959. Then a couple years later in
1961 Baba delivered the discourses for Ananda Sutram– of which the 5th and
final chapter gives further summary of Prout. In total, 16 sutras or
aphorisms are in that chapter.

And then, after that, gradually Baba has elaborated upon His Proutistic
guidelines and formed the vast Prout philosophy, around 200 discourses
directly. And many indirect references Baba has given about Prout in
several hundred other discourses.

For example if you see the book Namah Shivaya Shantaya, there also Baba
talks about Prout. (Reference: Discourse 10, section ‘Shivokti 5’) This
stands as but one of the many, many places where Baba makes indirect
reference to Prout in this book and in the rest of His scriptures.

And of course the direct discourses on Prout are collected together in the
21 parts of the Prout in a Nutshell series. From parts 1-21 all are Prout.

And in Prout part #13, the chapter ‘Socio-Economic Groupifications’ is
dedicated for the samaj movement. Because the central idea of samaj theory
is based on socio-economic movements; and that is exactly what is discussed
in the chapter ‘Socio-Economic Groupifications’. In that discourse Baba
talks about (a) What are the fundamentals of samaj, (b) On what grounds
will samajas be made, (c) What are the basic necessities of samajas, (d) so
forth and so on.

So anyone can easily understand that when the guideline of samaj has been
given in one chapter of Prout, and that it is part and parcel of our social
philosophy and perfectly consistent with all the teachings and theories of
Ananda Marga.

So if any imbalanced person is telling that samaj is something different,
Then it is similar to if any ignorant person foolishly says that a sentient
diet and vegetarian food are not part of Ananda Marga teachings.

Without going into more detail here I am quoting from Baba. In this
following teaching Baba is talking about samaj.

Baba says, “PROUT based socio-economic movements are popular movements
which will fight against all forms of exploitation and for the local
demands and sentiments of the people.” (PNS-13, p. 21)

By reading this above Baba’s simple teaching, anybody can easily understand:
(1) What is samaj; (2) That samaj is according to Prout principles; and,
(3) That the function of samaj is to fight against all types of
exploitation– for the growth of the local population of one particular area.

So certainly it is clear then that Baba’s samaj theory surely lies within
the jurisdiction and teachings of Prout.

SAMAJ NOT GROUPIST AGENDA

Some confused people think that samaj means some groupist agenda or a
movement which is based on narrow sentiments and ideas. But in reality,
samaj is something universal in nature and dharmic.

By reading the chapter ‘Socio-Economic Groupifications’ anyone will get the
clear-cut picture how Baba beautifully with logic and reasoning clarifies
to the audience that His samaj system is based on neo-humanism. And really
the point is quite clear.

Baba says, “The socio-economic movements advocated by PROUT are founded on
the ideological base of Neo-humanism.” (Prout-13, p. 23)

But some in the name of samaj are preaching their own small-minded beliefs
or dogmas.

So again it is unfortunate that a couple people are confused on the point
of samaj movement. Such selfish individuals or groups are obsessed with
materialistic gain, even then they form groupism. And to justify that they
confuse common margiis by preaching, ‘No, no, no, this is not groupism,
this is samaj movement’. But we must be very careful to understand that
samaj movement and group propaganda / groupism are not the same thing.

Those who are thinking that samaj is just one form of groupism, they are in
dreamland. Please see what Baba says:

Baba says “The multi-colored garland of humanity will be enriched if
varying human groups blend together from a position of strength and
independence out of a genuine love for their brothers and sisters.”
(Prout-13, p. 20)

Baba says, “Those sentiments which are conducive to human unity should be
encouraged, rejecting the sentiments which create a rift in human society.
This is the approach adopted by PROUT’s socio-economic groups.” (Prout, p. 21)

By the above quotes it is clear then that samaj theory is based on
broad-minded, universal thinking that leads to the development of one human
society.

Nowadays the whole society is moving ahead. Common citizens have better
understanding than in the past. And I think all the confusion will be
washed away when a few persons become more alert and conscious. Then the
dogma and confusion will not be able to remain and nobody will be able to
misguide and confuse others.

BABA’S BLESSING

Here following is Baba’s blessing:

Baba says, “You are the very child of Parama Purus’a…Keeping the Supreme
Entity fixed in your mind, proceed to the Supreme Goal with the utmost
devotion, and you are destined to attain the greatest fulfillment.” (APH-4,
p.299)

Namaskar,
Satyanarayan

Note 1: ONE MAJOR REASON BEHIND THE SAMAJ MOVEMENT

Having a few affluent countries when rest of the world is facing
serious crisis on different fronts does not represent the glory of human society.
The undeniable truth is that those so-called affluent countries became
affluent by sucking the vital juice of so-called poor countries. To root
out this malady Baba wants that in each and every area, local people should
rally around & fight against exploitation, and become self-sufficient in
all respects. To give practical shape to this idea Baba has formulated the
Samaj movement which is, as noted above, well-discussed in Prout-13, 4th
chapter.

Note 2: 5 CRITERIA FOR FORMING A SAMAJ

Baba says, “While forming socio-economic units, several factors should
be considered. These include same economic problems; uniform economic
potentialities; ethnic similarities; the sentimental legacy of the people;
and similar geographical features.” (PNS-13)

Note 3: 4 CRITERIA FOR MERGING TWO SAMAJAS

Baba says, “Where there is economic parity, cultural mixing, communication facilities
and administrative efficiency, it will be easy and natural for two or more
adjoining units to cooperate, because they will have attained a high degree
of socio-economic uniformity. In such cases they should merge to form a single
larger unit. This will further the welfare of their respective citizens and
enhance their socio-economic interests.” (PNS-13)

Note 4: OTHER IMPORTANT POSTINGS ON POINTS OF SAMAJ

********************************************
Be Careful in Desiring

Baba says, “Human beings attain Parama Purusa in whichever way they want.
Their desires to attain Him are fulfilled according to their expectations.
Suppose someone has a desire to eat delicious food. Parama Purusa will
grant that wish and the person may be reborn in the next life as a wolf or
wild boar to eat to his heart’s content. A woman who wishes to adorn
herself with ornaments may be reborn as a colorfully marked peacock. One
day, however, a hunter may shoot the beautiful peacock with an arrow. As
one desires, so one attains. Similarly, human beings attain Parama Purusa
according to their inner desire. So, before wishing to attain Him, one must
be extra cautious. Suppose a man wants to be a king. In the next life he
may be born into the household of a poor man whose surname is `Raja’
(king). He wanted to be a ra’ja’ (king) and he became one! One must be very
cautious before wishing for anything.” (AV-4, p. 62)

Baba

“Saptaloke tumi bhariya’ rayecho, maneri shatadale nece calo…” (PS 2555)

Purport:

Baba, You have filled all the seven lokas with Your divine vibration.
You are dancing in the hundred petal lotus of the mind. You are expressing
Yourself through all my mental vrttis; You are present everywhere.
Baba, You are the symbol of all hope and aspirations of the life.

Baba, I do not find anything similar to You. In this world You are
completely unique; You have no comparison. Whether my eyes are open or
closed in whichever direction I look I see You. You are beyond comparison.
Except You nothing is permanent. You pour Your divine effulgence upon the
faces of those who are hopeless and dejected.

Baba I see You in all the ways: In the depths of the nil moon night of
amavaysa, as well as in the showering of the nectar on the full moon night.
You are along with me all the time both in happiness and hopelessness.
Baba, You are more beautiful than that which is beautiful. You are more
loving than any loving things.

Baba You have filled up my whole existence– all the layers of my mind
are filled with Your divine presence. And You are always expressing
Yourself in each and every pore of my mind…

Note: The hundred petal lotus is representative of all the 50 vrttis
(instincts) of the mind in both their inner and outer expression. So 50
(propensities) x 2 (inner and outer) = 100 petal lotus. So this is one step
of dhyan and on certain occasions Baba also refers to the one thousand
petal lotus. That literally means the fifty propensities times their inner
and outer expressions times the ten directions. Hence 50 x 2 x 10 = 1,000.
So sometimes Baba uses the phrase hundred petal lotus and sometimes 1,000
petal lotus. Both He has approved and both refer to the full expression of
the mind.

== PROUT IS PROGRESSIVE UTILISATION NOT SOCIALISM ==

Namaskar,
As we all know Prout stands for Progressive Utilisation Theory. But some
keep trying to put forth the notion that Prout is linked with socialism.

As we see capitalism falling apart in countless ways, a few think that
socialism is the answer or that AM & Prout preach the gospel of socialism.

But this could not be further from the truth.

This letter touches on all the major defects of socialism so none
should get confused and equate Prout with socialism.

BABA’S DRAMATIC CRITIQUE OF SOCIALISM

(#1) But see here how Baba says socialism is not good:

Baba says, “Those who speak high of socialism from a democratic platform
befool the public. It is just to avoid constitutional lapses and to secure
public confidence that leaders speak on socialism and promise to establish
a socialist pattern of society, which is nothing but an absurdity. These
so-called leaders are nothing but socialist show boys.” (PNS 4 p. 7)

(#2) And this below quote it is clear that the socialist system itself is
communism. Because all the infamous communist countries had /have socialist
governments and it was in this name that such communists did terrible harm
to the society.

BABA says, “In Soviet Russia, China, Vietnam and Eastern Europe socialist
democracy is the dominant system…in [such] communism the political and
economic system is imposed on society by party officials, causing untold
human suffering and severe psycho-economic exploitation. (PNS-21, p. 43)
Hence the socialist name itself is negative.

SOCIALISTS ONLY CRITICISE

(#3) Furthermore we can see the political map of the whole globe. And
wherever capitalism has spread its noose they employ one special technique.
Capitalists influence the prevailing government and capture the political
power indirectly. And their rapacious exploitation continues in new and
newer form. So only criticizing capitalists, socialism does not produce any
yield. Because these socialists do not have any constructive ideals for how
to eradicate capitalism. Just their sole method is to abuse and that is
meaningless in practical aspects.

Baba says, “The leftist groups are engaged in criticizing the
capitalists, which is bearing no fruitful results, and capitalists have
captured power by influencing the ruling party.” (PNS 4)

Whereas Prout has its own platform based on economic justice and democracy, and
within the Proutistic framework Baba has given so many solutions to
social issues, whereas socialists merely throw mud on the ruling
capitalists.

SOCIALISM = NOTHING BUT GLORIFIED MATERIALISM

(#4) While talking about ‘Economic Dynamics” discourse, Baba exposes
communists and socialists how their economy is based on materialism.

Because the whole profit goes either to some very few certain individuals
pocket or in the pocket of communist party leaders. So socialism and
capitalism are both working under the direction of materialistic
philosophy, i.e. profit goes to a few individuals pocket. Profit does not
go to common public. Just ultimately money gets accumulated and piled high
in the hands of a few greedy leaders.

Baba says, “In capitalist economies, production is for the profit of the
capitalist and the profit goes to individuals, groups and the state
exchequer. In socialist economies or so-called communism, the profit goes
to the state exchequer and a microscopic fraction of the profit goes to the
actual producers. In both cases capitalism exists.” (AFPS-9)

But the stand of Prout is completely different. In Prout, the profit goes
for the welfare of one and all, the common public. But because communism or
socialism or capitalism all are taking inspiration from the capitalism.
That is why the stand of Prout and stand of these materialists are
completely different, directly opposite.

SOCIALISM = COMMUNISM

(#5) Here again, in this following teaching Baba is pointing out the
defects of the commune system of communist countries on the point of
collective farming. In this teaching Baba also exposes how communism is the
same as socialism.

BABA says, “…the huge collective farms of the Soviet Union or
China….One of the main defects of the collective farms in socialist
countries is their unmanageable size.” (PNS-20, p. 42)

(#6) And in the below passage Baba condemns those socialist states because
they exploit the vast majority of the innocent local people.

BABA says, “In socialist countries, economic power is concentrated in a
small group of party leaders….a handful of people manipulate the economic
welfare of the entire society. (PNS-21)

ABOUT THOSE SOCIALIST LEADERS – NOTHING BUT EXPLOITERS

(#7) Here below Baba exposed the extreme and rampant hypocrisy which exists
socialist regimes– group governed states. They like to call themselves
democratic and they go great lengths to present themselves as such; but in
reality they are just socialist exploiters.

Baba says, “There are some countries which abolished the monarchy long ago
and now call them selves a republic, but in these countries common people
do not even have freedom of speech, what to speak of other rights. The
state police and intelligence squads watch over the movements and
activities of the people. Though such countries call themselves republics,
in reality they are only group governed states. Are their leaders elected
through a democratic process? No, they are not. The leaders of these group
governed states fix the election machinery so that their opponents cannot
attain a majority. They disrupt elections by force, by rigging votes, or
other dishonest means in an endeavour to maintain their power illegally.
Hence, they cannot be called the advocates of democracy – they are only
group leaders elected by people of their own group or party. Their claims
to democracy are utterly inconsistent with their professed ideals and
behaviour. Their position is like someone who smears his face with black
charcoal and then covers it with white talcum powder, and proclaims to the
world: “Look how white my face is!” (PNS-14)

NEVER EQUATE PROUT WITH SOCIALISM

So the culminating idea is that socialism is one horribly negative term and
that time after time Baba points out the glaring defects of socialism. In
that case why should we stoop so low and refer to Prout in that demeaning
fashion. When we all know in our heart of hearts that Prout is means for
leading the humanity into that era of white peace and true prosperity.

ONLY PROUT IS THE ANSWER

Prout not only exposes the ills of capitalism and communism but our Prout
platform gives the practical solutions to so many burning issues like migrating
workers, use of resources, unemployment, wage disparities, distribution,
language issues, money stagation and so much more.

Plus Prout advance many points that are entirely new like samaj theory,
master units, cooperatives, and the list goes on and one.

Thus there is a world of difference between Prout and and of the existing
theories of the day and only Prout is the right appraoch for the humanity,
not any variation of some other system like socialism. About this,
no Ananda Margii should be confused.

Baba says, “Both capitalism and communism have failed to provide the
proper ideological inspiration and desideratum to human beings. In
the interests of the welfare of humanity, these systems should be replaced.
PROUT is against the exploitation by capitalism and the false dogma of
communism as both are detrimental to the all-round progress of
human beings. You have to fight against all sorts of corruption,
meanness and so-called secularism if Parama Purus’a is the goal.
Only then will you be able to maintain adjustment with this objective
world.” (PNS-15)

Namaskar,
Mukunda

Note 1: A wrong translation has been done in the English edition of one of
our books. So in that improper way it says that Prout is progressive
socialism– but this is not correct. Mistranslation is the cause behind the
use of this faulty phrase. Because Prout is not linked up with socialism.

Note 2: Everywhere this thing is known that socialism means communism. Just
I felt the need to remind. And we all know that the full form name of the
USSR is the United Soviet Socialist Republic. This was also their hypocrisy
to use the term ‘republic’. Because there was nothing like a republic but
to befool the entire world those communists were playing some game to show
the mock election. They were trying to show that this is a socialist
republic. That is why they put the name as socialist republic, and their
leaders were elected. But in their end all their cheating and destructive
strategies got exposed and all have understood the defects of communism and
that socialism is another name for that same defective philosophy.

– Some Secret –

Baba says, “Man can do nothing. Living beings cannot do anything without
His support: that is, when a human’s desire and His desire coincide, then
only does the human desire become fruitful, otherwise it is a sure failure.
When the jiiva’s desire coincides with the desire of Parama Purusa, then it
is successful, otherwise not.” (10 September ’78)

pra’n’a; everyone is close to my heart. We are all collectively singing
the song in unison and moving towards the Goal– Parama Purus’a. Nobody
should remain left behind. We should carefully see that nobody should
cry in the society, remaining as downtrodden or as neglected one. We are
all singing the marching song of life collectively, with one tune and
one melody. There is no difference between one human being and another.
Everyone’s desires, hopes, and inspirations are the same. We are all
moving on one path with the inspiration of the great ideology, which
will lead towards greatness…

WHY POLITICAL, SPORTS & FILMY HEROES ARE FAMOUS,

NOT ANANDA MARGIIS

Namaskar,
In our human society, there is no dearth of “celebrities”. In politics,
Hollywood / Bollywood, and sports etc, there are all kinds of heroes who
are famous throughout the globe. They are thought of as being great –
magnificent. They are revered all over and receive huge attention.

People like: Britney Spears, the late Michael Jackson, Michael Jordan,
Madonna, etc. And not just in the pop industry, rock star politicians
like Sarkozy and Obama and top capitalists like Bill Gates fall in this
category as well. Then of course there are others like the late Princess
Diana.

All the aforementioned stars are in the limelight and receive tremendous
public adulation 24 / 7, irregardless of what they are doing.

Yet hardly anyone knows of Baba and A’nanda Ma’rga. Taraka Brahma lived
on this earth for nearly 70 years, and hardly anyone is aware of His
arrival.

Our esteemed acaryas and margii brothers and sisters are working
tirelessly to uplift humanity yet they too are basically unknown to the
general public.

What is the reason behind this? Why are self-engrossed stars embraced by
the general public whereas selfless, well-wishers of humanity are
overlooked by society.

THE FORMULA FOR ADULATION

The operative factor at work here is the level of the public
consciousness and the common psyche. People can only appreciate what
they are able to understand. And understanding demands closeness.

For instance, one can only speak fervently of the greatness of Parama
Purusa if and only if one has come close to Him. Without coming mentally
close, then one cannot recognise His grandeur.

But to come mentally close one must be somewhat elevated – and at
present the common public is low. This is not a criticism of society,
just the fact.

That is why we see people expressing unbridled adulation towards stars
dominated by crude, animalistic propensities. Because when the general
public themselves are enthralled with sex, money, alcohol and lowly
desires then their heroes are going to be those (a) who either personify
those tendencies (Madonna, Bill Gates, & Britney Spears etc) or (b) who
present themselves as being slightly higher than the public mentality
(Sarkozy, Obama etc).

Those who more elevated will never be appreciated by the common people.
That is Baba’s explicit teaching (12 Dec ’78)

The entire situation can be likened to 4 of our acaryas going to the
zoo. Then those animals are not going to revere those Wts because they
are meditation teachers and performing all kinds of service and welfare
activities for both humans and animals alike. Those animals – due to
their lower mental standard – are totally unable to conceive of what
those acaryas are. Hence they are not going to become excited when those
acaryas arrive on site. Whereas when the zoo keeper comes with food then
those animals will become quite enthralled.

Or look at it this way: Simple village folk do not revere those who
invented the micro-chip or the space rocket.

Why? Because it demands a certain calibre of mind to recognise real
greatness.

Thus when the public mentality is relatively low – i.e. tamasik in this
materialistic era – then the people whom they revere as being great are
not really great. Just those famous people happen to appeal to the
public standard.

Alluring people onto the path of animality is relatively easy and one
can become an instant celebrity overnight, whereas benevolently bringing
people onto the path of divinity is difficult work and few will be
interested.

NOT GREAT PEOPLE

All too often those people who bask in public recognition and fame
hanker after such praise. In the case of politicians they say what the
public wants to hear and in the case of pop stars they represent the
glamor that the public also desires. Such so-called personalities drink
up public adulation, seek of ways to garner more, and think of
themselves as great.

Here though, Baba clearly says that such famous people are not at all
great.

Baba says, “The person develops a lustful attachment for some external
words of praise, and thus becomes a slave to those words and can never
be a truly great person…They can never become great people. It is bad
to be a slave to worldly words of praise.” (AV-5)

Indeed we see time and again how Hollywood heroes, sports stars and
politicians simply dance to the tune of public approval. Everything they
do is geared toward achieving more fame and notoriety. But this is
nothing but their weakness of mind, not their greatness.

Whereas the true well-wishers of society will always do what is right
and never concern themselves with public opinion.

Baba says, “Those people are great who harbour no biases and who behave
rationally both with those who abuse them give them pain and with those
who give them happiness. Such people don’t harbour any feelings of
enmity towards anybody and take no-one as their enemy. They remain the
same in pleasure or pain whether they have a positive reputation or
negative reputation. They are unaffected and unassailed in all
circumstances of praise or criticism, pain or pleasure. They attach no
importance whatsoever to any of these things. They are meaningless for
such people.” (AV-5)

Thus real greatness lies in living for a high ideal; it is not and
indeed cannot be measured by public approval or fame.

Rather Baba points out that what the common people deem to be great is
not at all great. That is half the story. The other half is that the
general society does not have the requisite quality of mind to see real
greatness – even when it is standing right there in front of them.

Baba says, ‘The common people misunderstand great people who act on
their behalf and for their welfare, or even if they understand them,
they do not give them their support.” (HS-2)

Hence what the common people think to be great is not great and when
greatness is right next to them then they are totally oblivious that it
is there.

MUST NOT GET DISCOURAGED

Knowing the formula then for achieving fame and social recognition, no
one in AM should then get frustrated because the the public does not
recognise or support us. Our duty is to please Baba and serve Him –
living according to His mandates.

100,000 might attend a U2 concert or a sporting event, and only 3 people
may show up to attend one of our talks on meditation. Even then we should
not be concerned and think that we have failed in some way. The fact
that a few people attend our AM event is not indicative of our ability
or quality, but rather reflects the interest and mindset of the people.

We must always remember that the ideal and message of our Ananda Marga
is far above the public standard. They are unable to recognise it for
what it is. That is why so few attend our programs – there is no second
or third explanation.

Indeed it would be of concern if suddenly we were embraced by the public
and written up in magazines and honoured etc. That would mean we had
fallen from our ideal and had somehow gotten wrapped up in lesser
activities.

In this day and age, people only run after crude Hollywood movies,
liquor, tall talkers, McDonald’s and sensual pleasures – not the dharmic
teachings of sadvipras or Mahasambhuti. Thus it would be of concern if
we were suddenly part of that craze.

The standard of AM is high – far above. The proof being that even though
yoga has become so popular with the masses as tens of millions attend
classes everyday, yet still that is not translating into huge numbers of
new people in AM. If we get even a few new people who are serious about
Baba and Ananda Marga then that is a lot.

So we must not be concerned with numbers or popularity. That is not
where our value lies. Our worth to society lies in upholding the tenets
of AM.

Baba says, “The characteristic of good people is to fight against
injustice, to firmly adhere to truth and righteousness, to protect the
helpless and fight against all evil persons.” (AFPS-5)

We should always remember that life is not a popularity contest – a
competition to garner the praise of others.

BABA’S PERSONAL EXAMPLE

As Baba Himself has said on numerous occasions, we should not bend and
sway according to public reaction. The public is generally low-minded
and fickle.

Again this is not meant as a snub against the common people. Just it is
His liila that He has designed it that way.

So we must always bear in mind that public acceptance and fame is not
our aim and indeed Baba Himself placed little, if any, value on that.

Baba says, “You see now that Ananda Marga’s fame is on the rise. What
should we do? We must maintain our mental balance and remain indifferent
to both praise and slander, to both joy and sorrow. A rich person once
abused Lord Buddha. He remained unperturbed. By refusing to accept the
abuse, he returned the slander. When I was in jail, I was subjected to a
lot of calumny by some people and these very people now praise me. But I
was indifferent to all their slander, and now I do not want their
adulation.” (AV-1)

Always the public barometer is going up and down. Because the public
standard is low and they become easily swayed in either direction.

And the overarching idea is that the public can express appreciation
only according to their own understanding. So when the public is
low-minded we should not expect them to start singing our praises.
Rather we should know ahead of time that they are going to worship the
likes Britney Spears, Obama, and Tom Cruise etc.

Then there is no chance we will become dejected, deluded, or frustrated
– rather unaffected by public praise and censure we will move ahead in
our dharmic works and devotional practices.

BABA’S BLESSING

By Baba’s grace He has blessed us with eyes to see. We should not care
about public opinion and look only towards Him. Then we will keep a
balanced mind and be ready to carry out His orders and dharmic teachings.

Focusing on Him will lead us to greatness and the Goal. We are to serve
and please Him. That will bring welfare to all. And while we may not get
the respect and praise of the common people, in the due course everyone
will pay heed to what we have done on this earth, by His grace. That is
also His teaching.

Baba says, ‘You should remember that those who are the actual pioneers,
the real vanguard of the society, are always a microscopic minority, but
it is they who are destined to be victorious. Those who once opposed, or
are now opposing or will oppose in the future, will in the future admit:
“Yes, we are now driving our vehicle safely and comfortably along the
very path which that vanguard once opened by clearing the jungle.” This
means that those who cleared the obstacles in the beginning will later
be recognized as pioneers. The funny thing is this, that people do not
give recognition at the time it is due. This is the natural law.” (12
Dec ’78)

Namaskar,
Gurucharan

Note 1: THIS TREND ALSO PRESENT IN AM

Just as the common people are unable to comprehend the greatness of
Ananda Marga etc. It also has to be noted that we have a similar problem
in AM. Many half-margiis or pseudo margiis cannot recognise the calibre
of those who really do follow Sixteen Points. Such half-margiis
complain, “Why are you so radical in your approach – you should be more
moderate and not so strict in following Baba.” Such half-margiis who
complain like this are the same ones who watch pop movies etc. They were
sleeping when margiis rights were stripped away and when Baba’s books
were being distorted and they tossed stones on true margiis who pointed
out these wrongdoings. Finally such half-margiis try to turn AM into a
pseudo-progressive organisation by advocating gay rights and other
social issues that run contraty to the ideals of AM. All because they do
not have the mind to understand Baba’s teachings. So the phnomenon
prevalent in the general society is also present in AMPS, to some or
more degree.

***************************************
Sign of Devotees

Baba says, “When undergoing any trouble then some human beings think
that they are shelterless. But you should always remember that in this
world at any given moment you are never shelterless. Because when Parama
Purusa is with you then how can you be shelterless. So there is no
reason for any feeling of helplessness or fear in any circumstances.
Because when He is with you the strongest and mightiest force of this
universe is with you. Then what is there to be afraid of? If you
encourage fear complex it means you have the forgotten the fact that
Parama Purusa is with you. So those who are sadhakas, those who are
devotees, those who are adherents of the path of dharma, they will
always be fearless. This is the quality of a sadhaka: That he is
fearless. Why is he fearless? Because he knows that the most powerful
entity, Parama Purusa, is with him. So there is a loving relation
between devotees and Parama Purusa– their relation is based on love.
Because of this truth the devotee is never afraid. He will never be
afraid of anyone and under no circumstances will he be perturbed.
Becoming paranoid is not the sign of devotees. Parama Purusa always
remains with you and HE always watches over His devotees. He is always
seeing how He can save devotees from any and all difficulties. So when
in this loving way Parama Purusa is concerned about you, then why will
you be disturbed. You should be fearless. There is no reason for any
sort of paranoia in the mind of devotees.” [SS-16 (H), p. 83, DMC Agra

Subject: He has Covered All the Points

Baba

“Pra’n’ tumi dhele diyechile…” (P.S. #2344)

Purport:

Baba, You have showered Your grace in each and every nook and corner of
this earth. Each and every particle of this universe has received Your
grace. Nowhere remained untouched. Baba, You have showered Your grace. You
have spread Your love with those divine songs of Prabhat Samgiita. By its
music, melody, and resonance.

Baba, with Your divine love, You intoxicated all divinely and swayed
everyone’s heart. And You filled and inundated everyone’s heart with divine
ideation. By Your grace, the devotional feeling got language to express its
heartfelt love to Parama Purusa, and hopelessness disappeared. Everyone’s
heart is now dancing in the tune and melody.

O’, the Controller of everything. With Your longing, with Your ideation,
my whole existence is vibrated.

No one is unfortunate, no one is lowly and meagre. Everyone is floating
in Your mind. By Your grace, everyone is surviving. Baba, You showered Your
grace on all. Everyone is charged with divine love…

== HE HAS COVERED ALL THE POINTS ==

Namaskar,
We must follow Baba in all respects. He has given all that is needed –
period. He has given the sadhana; He has given the social teachings;
and He has given all our days of festival – spare none. There is nothing
that He has not given.

Thus those who foolishly insist that the dogmatic Mahaprayan program
is to be part of our AM culture, knowingly or unknowingly insinuate
that Baba is incomplete or imperfect – as if He forgot to tell about
Mahaprayan.

When in fact we know that Baba as the Parama Purusa incarnate has addressed
everything, including events after His physical disappearance. Yet He never
mentioned one word about Mahaprayan celebration.

Here the point is that we should follow Baba, not groupists.

Now again the season has arrived where various groupist and dogmatic WTs
etc are promoting their so-called Mahaprayan program. Means Baba is eternal
but certain crude persons are trying to impose their dogmatic Mahaprayan
function on the common margiis. Most have rejected this program as it goes
against our basic devotional feeling. And here below is more explanation
about why Baba Himself does not appreciate this Mahaprayan program as well
as other proofs for why it is just one dogmatic function– nothing more.

Mana Vrinda’bane rayecha

Baba, O’ my Lord You are living in the Vrindaban of my heart…

MY QUESTION TO DADAJI

One time I asked my DC [VSS] Dada that, “Dadaji, you told that Baba has
given everything in AM- all the solutions to the problems of the present
world and beyond. But is it that HE might have forgot to tell about this
Mahaprayan (MPD) program, & that is why our Central Dadas introduced MPD
themselves in Oct 1990? Because one margii was telling that ‘how Baba can
tell about His own passing away to margiis and include such a ceremony in
Caryacarya?’ That Margii, Satyadeva, further told that Baba might have
thought that if He Himself will tell to Margiis or disclose about His
Mahaprayan then margiis will cry out. So Baba did not include Mahaprayan
ceremony in CC part 1. Dadaji what is your comment on this.”

WAY OF DOING GURU PUJA

Dadaji replied, “You see, those who got acarya training they know that Baba
as a Guru, HE tells all the do’s and dont’s for His disciples. For example,
In our Acarya diary, Baba says such things which I am giving you the
outline here. While teaching about system of Guru Puja in Senior Ac. diary
appendix, Baba described that if disciples / sadhakas have strong feeling
to offer some worldly things in Guru Puja, they can do it. Even those
sadhakas could give those things to Guru during His physical Presence. But
Baba directs us that AFTER His physical departure then those material
things which we desire to offer to Him, those things should be distributed
to needy people. And if sadhakas are offering some flowers then it should
be thrown into flowing river water. Baba explains all this very clearly in
the Senior Acarya Diary.”

Dadaji said, “So, do you understand?”

I said, “Yes Dadaji. I think as you told that when Guru is physically
present then we can offer worldly things to Him directly. If a sadhaka has
strong desire to do like that. But Baba further directs us that if one has
a strong desire to offer physical objects to Him, our Gurudeva, after His
physical passing. Then those objects should be given to appropriate members
of the society who are lacking those very things. That will be the true
service to Baba.”

“Very good” Dada replied.

CARYACARYA SCRIPTURE IS COMPLETE

Then Dadaji said, “Baba has given the full list of social and spiritual
functions of Ananda Marga in our Caryacarya part 1. This list does not
include Mahaprayan (MPD).”

He continued, “No doubt, some dogmatic people may be thinking that Baba
deliberately did not speak about HIS physical departure because it would
have been untolerable for most of us. But I think this very idea is
completely incorrect. Because when Baba describes about His physical
departure in Acarya training book, then if He would have felt necessary
then surely He would have included this MPD function into our Caryacarya
scripture as well. But Baba did not do so. So according to my logical
conclusion, Mahaprayan itself is negative program and it is not approved by
Baba because it is against the fundamental teachings of Marga Guru.”

“With rational mind one can say Mahaprayan is dogma because it has no
logic, just MPD is one imposed, restricting type of idea. Just see what Baba
says on this point.”

Then I saw in A Few Problems Solved book, that BABA says, “Perhaps you know
what dogma means. Dogma means an idea around which some line is demarcated,
beyond which it is prohibited to go. ‘You will have to accept this
doctrine, you cannot go beyond it.’ — this sort of restricting idea is
called dogma…Remember, you are not alone in this world, not only in this
world but also in this entire universe. This universe is pervaded by Parama
Purusa. We are always sitting on His very lap.” AFPS pt 4, p.23

“So see” Dadaji explained. “Baba tells that Parama Purusa is everywhere;
Baba tells dogma is that which restricts the mind; Mahaprayan says Baba has
departed or gone away; then surely Mahaprayan comes under the category of
dogma.”

WAY OF DOING INITIATION

“Look at it this way”, Dadaji added, “You see when any acarya teaches or
imparts initiation, any sadhana lesson increase, or lesson revision, then
if acarya is proper then they must sit few minutes in dhyan and take the
permission from Baba. After getting permission then one has right to teach
sadhana, especially 6th lesson. So this is the system.”

“But if Baba is gone, left, away, means if Mahaprayan happened, then how
one can get permission? To get this divine permission, we have to see that
Baba is not just one worldly / physical entity. Surely ordinary mortal
human beings die or become gone or pass away, BUT similar thing is not in
Baba’s case. Our Baba is not ordinary mortal He is Parama Brahma. In Ananda
Vacanamrtam part 3 Baba says like this following”:

“Guru, that expression of Parama Brahma that dispels all your spiritual
darkness, is Parama Brahma. That is, Parama Brahma exhibits Himself in the
form of Guru just to dispel your clouds of ignorance and spiritual
slumber.” (Pg 16 AVM 3)

So Baba, being the Parama Brahma, is God incarnate, or Taraka Brahma. Like
this Dadaji told.

BABA IS BEYOND COMPARISON

“When we are preaching others then we preach, that there is no comparison
of the Personality of Taraka Brahma”. Baba says in Namami Krsna Sundaram:

Tula’ va’ upama’ Krs’n’asya na’sti;
Krs’n’a Bhagava’n svayam” (NKS, p.212)

Meaning: There is no comparison of the Lord’s attributions. Taraka Brahma
can be compared with Himself and Himself alone. No entity is similar to Him.
Dada went on, “It is so regrettable that according to our convenience
sometimes we preach that Baba is Taraka Brahma Sadguru, and other times
according to selfish convenience we compare Baba with mortal human being
and think that He passed away as normal human beings do. That is not good.”
“I think that those who believe in Mahaprayan (MPD), they think of Baba as
ordinary mortal. These MPD believers forget their Goal that Baba is
Sadguru, the All-Pervading Omnipresent Being. And that very Baba Shrii
Shrii Anandamurtiji is unparalleled, beyond comparison. Then why we should
compare that very Supreme Entity as normal human being coming under the
domain of life and death?”

“When we are preaching Baba’s stories then we comprehend that idea that
Baba is above all human beings, Baba is living with us and He is helping.
But the next moment when we talk about Mahaprayan (MPD) then we just
overlook the whole spiritual philosophy or devotional aspect and start
thinking Baba as one mortal frame. How ironic!”

THE SUN CANNOT BE HARMED

“If we think carefully then we can understand and we should correct also
that according to our convenience we should not degrade Baba’s status. If
any innocent person will try to spit on the sun in mid-day, you can think
that who will be affected. Surely not the sun. So we should be careful.
Undermining and abusing Baba will not harm Him but ourselves. So my feeling
is that Baba is with us we should not compare Him as ordinary human being
like those who get Mahaprayan etc. Rather our approach should be like how
Baba describes here in Neo-Humanism book.”

Then Dadaji showed me this beautiful passage from ‘Devotional Sentiment and
Neo-Humanism’:

Baba says, “As we have already said, the greatest human treasure is
devotional sentiment, devotional wealth. This devotional wealth must be
preserved….Whenever we see that the pressure of external circumstances
threatens this life essence we should appeal to the Supreme, “O Lord,
please be kind enough to protect our inner vitality from total
destruction-save us from the agony of total loss.” (NH – pg 7)

By this I understood, that we must protect our devotional feeling from the
onslaughts of worldly pressures and events such as Mahaprayan, and we
should ask help from Baba in this regard.

WORDS FROM A SENIOR MARGII

When I was talking with Dada about all this, then one senior margii Ram
Dayalji also came and joined. Then he told some things on MPD point which
was new thing for me.

Ram Dayalji told ‘this invention of Mahaprayan is done with the motive to
create inferiority complex in the mind of those sadhakas who could not see
Baba in physical frame. That is why those central Dadas who were enjoying
Baba’s physical proximity before 1990, these Dadas selfishly thought that
this will be one gaining point in their career. And they can undermine
margiis who did not see Baba before 1990, and such margiis should be
treated as 2nd class margiis and unfortunate one.’

Here is more of what Ram Dayalji was talking:

‘Because believers of Mahaprayan are preaching that Baba passed away, so
now there is no scope to go close to Baba. Or go in His close proximity. So
that opportunity is gone forever. By that way those who could not avail the
opportunity or those who were born after 1990 or because of any reason
those who could not see Baba, they should realise mentally that they are
all unfortunate beings.’

Ram Dayalji concluded, “Excuse me this above approach is not my feeling.
This is the background thinking of those who cultivated the ideas of
Mahaprayan. By that way they think that in AM society they will be treated
fortunate because they lived along with Baba, and those who could not live
in Baba’s physical proximity they are all in subordinated category. By this
way inferiority complex has been injected by introduction of Mahaprayan.”

PRABHAT SAMGIITA:

Closeness Means Psychic Closeness

So after sharing with you all I heard and learned from my respected Dada
and Ram Dayalji, I am ending with one song of Baba.

Those who are devotees, they know that this PS # 3286 “Keu ka’che peyeo”
gives this message that living physically close has no value. Many
physically live close but they are living far from Him. But many live
physically far but keep Him in their hearts.

Keu ka’che peyeo cinate na’re, dure thekeo cene…” PS #3286

Puurport: By getting physically close they do not recognize Him, whereas
some even from a distance recognize His magnanimity. Whereas others by
getting His sweet touch even, then they drown in staticity. And some
without knowing, they unknowingly believe fully in His greatness. O’ my
Lord You are doing so many things for me. You are filling my heart with
nectar. I am so unfortunate that after all this grace I do not recognize
You and remain oblivious…

So let us all be like those A-grade devotees who with deep inner devotion
recognise Baba’s divine beauty and treasure Him always in their heart.

Respectfully yours.
Manoj.

********************************************
Sam’ska’ra Bhoga

Baba says, “The reaping of consequences of original actions performed by a
human being occurs mainly in the psychic sphere. And if a person attains
the blessings of evolved beings and the Cosmic grace in that same psychic
sphere, the problem is solved. Pain and misery is bound to come. Depending
upon one’s inborn sam’ska’ras and the actions performed, tortures and
afflictions are bound to be undergone – the expression of one’s own
reactive momenta. Tortures and afflictions will not be as severely painful
as before; with the blessing and grace, the psychic afflictions will be
removed. Well, when there is pain and the pain is not felt as such, should
it then be called pain? In this case, in the psychic sphere, one will
remain in a state of bliss. Let the afflictions come. When the affliction
and pain are not felt as such, one should not worry about it.” (PNS-14)

Note: In this materialistic era, people commonly think that those with
money, or those with a big house, or those with name and fame, do not
suffer from any problems, pain, or difficulties. But here in the above
excerpt, Baba is directly telling us that suffering occurs in the mental
sphere– not just in the physical sphere. Because one’s samskara primarily
take expression in the mind. Those problems and pains are undergone in the
psychic strata. Thus no one should think that just because someone is
wealthy or drives a fancy car then it means that they do not have any
problems in life. It is not like that. This dogma we should try to remove
from our social outlook. Because as Baba indicates above, irregardless of
one’s financial position, level of education, or professional attainment,
to one degree or another everyone has problems in the psychic sphere, and
that is how they exhaust their samskaras. So no matter how much wealth one
accumulates in the worldly sphere, one’s mental pain and suffering will not
diminish. Suffering happens in mental realm and everyone experiences it
according to their samskaras. And that suffering will remain until one is
established on the path of spirituality. Thus the only the way to
permanently relieve oneself of any suffering is not to chase after worldly
allurements but rather to get His divine grace. Just a tiny portion of His
grace is enough to free the mind of any suffering. Then one will just be in
a state of peace– bliss. That is Baba’s above teaching.
