Subject: Psychic Disease: False Health Problem

PS Intro: This below song demonstrates how Parama Purusa can only be attained with the loving feeling of the heart– through one’s inner, pointed, devotional longing. Because Parama Purusa only understands the feeling of the heart. That is why searching Him externally in various dogmatic tiirthas or putting on a false display of sadhana are utterly useless; such empty attempts will just end in vain. One cannot get Parama Purusa in those defective ways because He can only be held with the love of one’s heart.

“Tumi bolo kii va’ ca’o…” (PS 688)

Baba, this entire expressed universe is nothing but Your divine manifestation. Please reveal how one can satisfy You and how one get You. Baba, why do You go on making this grand liila of Yours while You Yourself only watch from afar – keeping totally quiet. You never disclose what You want; You never divulge how one can please You and get You. Baba, please tell me what You want. Baba, tell me why You are making this liila.

Baba, all these years I was so misguided in my approach. Baba, instead of doing sadhana I tried to get You by searching You externally in the dogmatic tiirthas of Jamalpur and Tiljala etc. I thought I could hold You by journeying to those so-called holy lands. Baba, in place of doing meditation, I tried to reach You by studying all the shastras such as by reading the various editions of Subhasita Samgraha and Ananda Sutram etc. I thought that by virtue of just reading those scriptures I could get You. Baba, on innumerable occasions I foolishly thought I could get You through those avenues – without doing sadhana. Baba, all my efforts went in vain and I utterly failed to get You. Baba, You remained far. And not only that but other many times I put on a fake display of doing sadhana in order to show off my so-called greatness and to satisfy my ego of being a great sadhaka. And other times I also pretended to do pranayama, dhyana, and all the sadhanas – without ever cultivating any inner devotional feeling for You. Baba, all those false attempts also ended in vain. Baba, You did not look towards me.

Baba, by Your causeless grace, today I understand that only when one offers the effulgence of their heart – after leaving behind all hypocrisy – can they hold You. Baba, and only when one surrenders oneself fully at Your lotus feet, and, only when one decorates their mind with the flowers of love and devotion can they get You. Baba, only when a sadhaka feels deep love for You in their heart – the aroma of sweet sandalwood – can one attain You. Baba, only when one a devotee develops strong yearning and pointed devotion, and only when one offers oneself with no other desire than to get You, only then do You graciously take them on Your divine lap and make their life meaningful.

Baba, Your grand liila is unfathomable. Please make my mind pure and keep me in Your loving arms forever. O’ Love Personified Entity…

Here is something we should all be aware about.

Even if they do not have any physical problem, psychically diseased people mentally suffer and cry and complain about different imagined physical ailments. Such types of psychic diseases are called mania. Following is one example:

Baba says, “There was another person I knew who was quite healthy and carried out his daily activities with ease, and yet he was under the impression, for no particular reason, that there was some trouble in his stomach. Actually there was no disease; he was in good health. Yet occasionally he used to come to me and complain that there was some disorder in his stomach. This was his [psychic disease] of mania.” (Ananda Marga Philosophy – 5, p. 347)

Herein lies the solution:

Baba says, “One of the numerous benefits of sa’dhana’ is that it keeps the mind free from psychic disease.” (Ananda Marga Philosophy – 5, p. 348)
