“Loke bale tumi dekha’ da’o na’, tave ele kii kare…” (PS 1893)

O’ Parama Purusa, people are telling that You are not visible. When
people say like that then how is it that You have come here in front of me
and I am seeing You.

O’ Parama Purusa, people are telling that You do not care about logic
and reasoning. That there is no explaining how You manage Your affairs and
that Your liila is beyond logic. Then how is it that You have graced one
and all & You are showering everyone with Your divine nectar. How has this
started happening.

Baba, whenever I see You then I always request You to make me Yours. And
when I say like this, then I see with my own eyes and I hear with my own
ears how You come close and shower me incessantly with Your infinite grace.

Baba, I am so meagre; You are so vast. I am bound up by my own
limitations. Even then You love me. Baba, by Your sweet touch all the
negativity and impurities get removed; and everything becomes pure. By Your
grace, the fragrant flowers blossom in each and every nook and corner of my
mind. Baba, people are telling that You are invisible and that You cannot be
seen; but by Your grace You have come to me. O’ my dearmost Baba, this is
all due to Your cosmic grace and infinite compassion…

In each and every sphere of life Baba has set the gold-bar standard. In all
the realms He has beautifully defined what is the top-rung of achievement,
as well as how one gets there. Included in this is Baba’s special
explanation about greatness: What makes someone great.

No doubt in the mundane society– whether it be in the field of politics,
business, sports, or education etc– people have their own small-minded
views about who & what is great. But in Baba’s own revolutionary approach,
He has given His unique and dharmic teaching on greatness. And, needless to
say, His grand definition of ‘greatness’ stands on a plane all its own–
far, far above.

Here following is Baba’s special guideline about vastness & greatness, the
link between the two, as well as what it means to be great.

Baba says, “This Supreme One is called brhat. The word brhat literally
means ‘One who is very vast, who is beyond the scope of all limitations,
who is immeasurable and unfathomable’…Brahma literally means the Entity
who is Himself very vast, and whose ideation makes others vast like Him.”

Brhattva’d Brahma Brm’hanatva’d Brahma

“Brm’hanatva’d means making others vast. He himself is very great, and
hence He is called Brahma; but this is not enough. Besides that He has the
capacity to make others equally great like Him.” (SS-11)

As Baba explains in His above teaching, one of the qualities of Parama
Purusa is that He Himself is vast (brhat). And not only that but He has the
capacity to make others vast. So, according to Baba’s revolutionary view,
being vast does not mean just being some big or large entity; in addition,
one must possess that special ability to make others equally vast. That is
the unique requisite which Baba outlines in the above shloka.

And– per Baba’s guideline– same is the case with greatness…

As He directs us, vastness or greatness does not come all by itself; nor
does it exist in a vacuum. To become ‘great’, one must have that special
talent of being able to make others great. This is the exceptional quality
of those who are really great. Thus only those who have this unique ability
to raise the standard of others to the level of greatness can truly be
called great. This is Baba’s teaching.

So while Brahma is unquestionably the Greatest of the great, in their own
way humans can also achieve a certain level of greatness. Because those who
follow a God-centered philosophy are drenched in spiritual thought and
service-mindedness. And when others come in their contact then those common
people naturally feel inspired and get uplifted. Because by seeing the ways
and conduct of a true sadhaka, then others will also grow. And not only
that, those selfless sadhakas are ever-ready to help others advance. In
that way God-centered aspirants can bring lay people up to their high
level. And, according to Baba, those who do like this are indeed great.

Thus becoming vast or great does not mean becoming big like one huge banyan
tree. Because although a banyan tree is enormous, it gets that way by
sucking up all the air, sunlight, water, and nutrients for itself. That
banyan tree does not allow even single a blade of grass to grow underneath
it. So this type of crude expression of bigness is not something
admirable– not something great.

Unfortunately in today’s materialistic society, there are so-called great
people all around. They are adorned on the cover of various magazines,
propped up on stages, applauded at sporting events, and praised by the size
of their wallet. Means in this present era there are so many who are called
as great– for one reason or another; yet none reach up to Baba’s standard
of the term, not even close.

As we see all around, whether in the field of business, entertainment, or
law etc, in cent-per-cent of the cases those materially-minded people only
become “great” by sucking the blood of others. Only by stepping on the
heads of others and by clawing and scratching for each and every inch did
they get “to the top”. And such ‘greats’ retain this regal status of theirs
by throwing dirt in the eyes of others. And they certainly do not help to
elevate the standard of others. Rather the opposite.

So these so-called greats in the crude society have nothing to do with
helping others to grow or expand. Rather they achieved their measly status
by hoarding money, grabbing a high post, & garnering a lot of prestige,
etc. So their greatness is only standing on fleeting worldly credentials.
And they enhance their “greatness” by attempting to collect more of those
worldly prizes than anyone else. So their approach is totally selfish–
where the key point is making oneself look better than others.

That is why what is usually called ‘great’ in this materialistic, vaeshyan
era is completely opposite to Baba’s spiritual, neo-humanistic approach. In
capitalism ‘greatness’ is achieved by pushing oneself above others, and in
our dharmic spiritual approach greatness means raising others up to a
standard of excellence.

Hence in the true sense, those selfish persons who pose as being “great”
are not really great– not at all. Because their ‘greatness’ comes from
sucking the blood of others. They are unable to make others great, just
they prop themselves up by stepping on the heads of others and reaping the
fruits of their existence. So simple and innocent citizens get exploited
and suppressed when they come in contact with such so-called great persons.
That is why we can never call any selfish, materialistic person as ‘great’.
Because they are unable to lift others up to a higher standard– rather
they push those people down into the depths of degradation.

Unfortunately nowadays a similar trend exists in our AMPS. Because if we
look around then we can see that those so-called great Dadas suppress
lower-posted workers and / or margiis. Means top-dog Dadas reach the height
of their glory by pushing down on the shoulders of general members. They
force margiis to remain in a subservient position and do not allow margiis
to grow. This is evidenced by the curtailment and eradication of bhukti
pradhan rights, the strangulation of margii rights, the manipulation of the
ACB etc. In all spheres those great Dadas – no need to mention names –
just impose restrictions on the margiis to satisfy their
selfish greed for power and post. And within their own ranks they just
create ‘yes-men’ all around them. Any Dada with a brain got pushed aside
and anyone who they keep as their close must become a ‘yes-man’– a
no-brainer. This is the unfortunate formula these days.

So to attain their greatness, such top Dadas suck the blood of junior wts
and general margiis and exploit them up to the bone. That is the be-all and
end-all of their greatness. Meanwhile in this dark era, those who are
really great are temporarily hidden somewhere– remaining unknown.

So in the materialistic era of the general society and in this groupist era
in our AMPS, those who are deemed as “great” function in a way that is
totally opposite to Baba’s divine equation of greatness. Thus all around
so-called great people are nothing but exploiter-types, with not an ounce
of benevolent motive in their blood.

Whereas Baba’ divine recipe for greatness means working for the welfare of
others and making them great. That is how to see who is really great.

By Baba’s divine grace, soon the humanity will be led by truly great
personalities. By Baba’s grace that day is fast approaching.

Baba says, “We are proceeding from darkness towards effulgence, from
imperfection along the golden steps to perfection. No obstacle on the way
will be able to stop our advancement. Pushing aside and smashing all
obstacles and impediments we will move along our destined path…The chant
of our forward movement will be our vocal expression, the very pulsation of
our life.” (A’nanda Va’nii, #72)

Nowadays those with post are looked upon as great persons. Presidents and
Prime Ministers get huge respect and royal treatment wherever they go. Side
by side in this extreme vaeshyan era, those with any sense understand well
that from behind, these presidents are controlled by top-moneyed persons.

Some may think that Presidents are merely moderately influenced by those
corporation heads; but in reality those deep pocketed vaeshyas are
selecting and deciding who will be president. This is the well known fact
nowadays. But for the shudra-dominated public they are not aware about all
this so they just give full respect to the President and they think the
President is controlling everything. When the reality is that politics is
controlled by money. This is how the general society is moving.
But amongst the common people, post is everything and the capitalists
recognise this that is why they are purchasing & controlling those
postholders. If postholders were meaningless positions then those with
money would not bother about that.

In AMPS, post is given a similar amount of respect. So groupist Dadas work
behind the scenes and totally manipulate and control those sitting in the
chairs of the PP post and GS post. This is the on-going reality
since ’90.

Becoming vast or great is not measured by accumulating huge money or high
prestige or some other material thing etc, the vastness which Baba is
referring to in His famous shloka is about helping others to improve and
become great. And on that basis alone is what makes someone really great.

In crude vaeshyan era people think that those with money are great and in
other eras they have their own mundane parameters– such as physical might
or intellectual cunning etc. But in our God-centered approach the ones who
are great are those who make others great.

About the Wealthy

Baba says, “It must always be remembered that the value of money lies in
its proper use. If more money is accumulated than what is necessary, it
becomes valueless for want of use. To the extent that you keep idle and
valueless money with you, to that extent you become responsible for the
injustices done to the hungry and the naked. Your valueless hoard will have
to be made valuable by providing opportunities for use by others. Those who
do not know the right use of money on the basis of the exchange of mundane
resources are in fact the enemies of society.” (HS-1, p.41)

“Toma’re khunjechi a’mi jina’ne, karme, darshanete…” (PS no. 4545)

Baba I have searched You on the path of knowledge, on the path of
action, and on the path of philosophy. While doing so my heart remained
dry like the desert. I could not get any feeling. But by Your grace You
have given me this much sense– You made me understand that You have
deep love for me. That is why You have brought me on this earth so that
I can love You. All these days I was not searching You in the world of
ideation and dhyana. I was searching You externally. But in the last I
started doing sadhana and dhyana with the bond of Your love. And since
then I am intoxicated by Your divine charm…

Many have deep faith that modern science, not religion, is based on the
search for truth and that it is modern science which is the greatest
tool of humanity. Science is often regarded as the god of modern day
society and that it is science which will solve all of our global problems.

However, science does not exist in a vacuum: The guiding force behind it
is the human mind. And so long as a capitalist mentality, or racist
mentality, or naive mind is pushing science forward, there are bound to
be loopholes, if not gaping holes, in scientific knowledge.

So the way science is used today is far from this ideal. And one of the
main problems is that in numerous cases science is manipulated to
promote so-called in-born racial differences.

Of course, as Ananda Margiis, we deeply respect the value of science.
Baba guides us to advocate for more and more scientific research. So in
our Marga, science is also highly honored– under one condition: So long
as it is guided by the rational & benevolent intellect.

Baba says, “Science is also for service and blessedness. Science should
always be utilized for the proper progress of human society.” (AFPS-7)

Unfortunately, often the way science is used today does not meet up to
Baba’s ideal. Much of science is used by war mongers for crude weaponry
and and many scientific findings are for put forward which promote
racial differences.

There are innumerable studies released by scientists which give findings
based on race alone such as: Blacks do not live as long; Blacks have
higher cholesterol; blacks are less intelligent based on the shape of
their head; Hispanics have more difficulty learning; Lung Diseases
Disproportionately Affect Minorities; Whites have a higher IQ than
blacks; etc.

Especially in the western world where “scientific studies” are used to
measure each and every aspect of life, the idea creeps in– blatantly
and not so blatantly– that there are in-born differences between the
various races. That some races have a greater proclivity for certain

But such findings only promote racial divisiveness, impose an
inferiority complex on a particular race, and give the idea that ‘God’
created one race better than another.

A few decades back, such types of blind studies were the absolute norm.
They were trying to scientifically prove racial superiority, especially
of whites over blacks.

Yet even today– in this modern 21st century– there are studies which
point in this direction: As if there is an inborn qualitative difference
between one race and another.

So even in today’s modern era, studies might show that ‘blacks have a
75% greater chance of being arrested and put in jail’. And all too often
the how’s and the why’s are overlooked, or just given minor review.

Because in this era of white-bred capitalism, where the European races
have distinct control, then surely so many factors from schooling to
economic gain to social standing play a distinct role in differences of
human development. Those races that have less economic might, or less
opportunity to attend university etc will surely be more prone to
stealing and other crimes. But not because of race, but due to various
social and economic factors.

So although science has shown some signs of breaking out of this slump–
as compared with decades ago. Still it is lagging far behind.

And performing studies solely on the basis of race is bound to create
more and more division. Saying that blacks are more prone toward teenage
pregnancy and making it into a racial issue as a headline is as
ridiculous as saying that white overseas Margiis have a longer life span
that Margiis of Nairobi sector or that Indian born Margiis have a
greater rate of becoming acaryas etc.

Here the whole point is that making conclusive statements based on race
is the blindness of modern science. Social and economic and cultural
conditions must be taken into account. However still today the
differences found in socio-economic conditions is talked about in the
small print and the headlines of countless studies point towards in-born
racial differences.

Of course in our Marga we give no credence to such findings.

In all these following quotations Baba clearly advances the notions that
the existential value of all human beings is the same. And surely all in
AM hold this ideal in our heart. Yet this remains one point of serious
division in the general society. And until modern science wholly adopts
this idea, racist theories on the point of health, wealth, intelligence,
longevity etc will continue to pollute scientific findings, to some or
more degree.

Here then are the neo-humanistic ideals that must enter into the
thinking and vision of today’s scientists– then and only then can we
consider that science has entered the modern age. Till then it it will
still be hounded by racial and social blindness.

Baba says, “Let us consider the case of race. Many people identify
themselves with a particular race. If we look deeply into the subject we
come to the conclusion that the human race is one. Some people have
black skin, some people have yellow skin, and some people have white
skin. Does it make any difference to the inner human being? No, none
whatsoever.” (AFPS-3)

Baba says, “In our Ananda Marga the first step that a person takes is to
forget their race or sect and to no longer identify with their race,
caste, or sect, regardless of whether their race was superior or
inferior. Racial prejudices are very predominant…In our Ma’rga there
are no such considerations: these petty differences among human beings
are not given any importance. (TP)

Baba says, “Tantra does not recognize any racial, [or]
genealogical…differences among human beings.” (Shra’van’ii Pu’rn’ima’

By all His above teachings, Baba clearly guides us that there are no
differences between human and human– all are one.

So until scientists– and those capitalists funding scientists– stop
looking for trends in racial qualities and instead look entirely at
social and economic factors, modern science will continue to suffer from
a certain degree of blindness– thereby promoting divisiveness in
today’s global society.

By Baba’s grace our AM society will spread the sweet tune of
neo-humanistic feeling across the world and it will become embedded in
all the approaches of life, including “modern-day science”.

Baba says, “In our Ma’rga the seeds of an ideal humanity are sown from
the very beginning of life and humanity as a whole is considered as one
family belonging to the race of living beings. In such a society
injustice due to economic, sexual or racial considerations will be
unknown.” (PNS-3)

Hankering For Knowledge Invites Degeneration

Baba says, “Those who have vanity of knowledge, although they do not
expressly beseech this from the Supreme, but rather think inwardly that
the Supreme should bestow an enormous wealth of knowledge upon them —
this type of person is reborn as vidya’dhara.” (YP, p.79)

Note: Vidya’dhara is one type of microvita that is under punishment.
Such type of unfortunate beings got degenerated and became microvita. So
they are suffering and they long to once again get human life. But this
will come only after they escape from the noose of the long-term bondage
and state of punishment etc.

“Toma’ke ja’y na’ bhola’…” (P.S. 2347)

Baba, by Your grace You have bound me in Your divine attraction– love.
Always I am calling and thinking about You, yet You are not satiating my
heart’s desire by coming close. Baba, when I long for You and the feeling
of melancholy is unbearable then my heart begins to ache. Baba, in that
longing and pain, the feeling comes in my mind that it is best just to
forget You. Because then at least the pain which is lingering due to Your
absence will not remain any longer. But the more and more I think that I
should forget You, then my deep longing and yearning for You only
intensifies– and my heart becomes more and more restless to get You. Baba,
I am longing for Your causeless grace, please come…

Should prostitution be legal? It may sound like a moot point, a foregone
conclusion, or even an outlandish suggestion, especially in the minds of
Ananda Margiis; but it may be something we are all confronted with more and
more in the near future– both outside and inside AM. So we should all be
ready with the appropriate & Proutistic response.

Many margii readers may surely be thinking that ‘the oldest profession’–
ie prostitution, has no legs to stand on and is a thing of the past; and
‘there is no way that it will come to be accepted in AM circles’. And
hopefully so, even then we should be aware of societal trends as they
sometimes have a habit of sneaking our way.

As is commonly seen, in some parts of the globe– like Europe, parts of
Asia & elsewhere etc– the sex industry, and with it prostitution, is
gaining both (a) greater popularity, and believe it or not, (b)
acceptability as well.

Why popularity? Well for one thing it is a “great money-maker”. And in this
capitalistic era, where money is king, then that is enough for some
sections of the business world to embrace it. Consider this statistic:

“Prostitution is legal in the Netherlands, and the sex industry
has revenues estimated at nearly US $1 billion a year.”

And the Netherlands is one of the smallest countries on the planet–
imagine the size of the profit if it were legalised in China. And, indeed,
at present in China, the dark way of prostitution is being resorted to more
and more by young rural girls who are looking to make their way in the world.

“Fifteen years ago [in China], you didn’t find sex workers
in remote areas and cities. But now it’s prevalent in
every city, every county.”

Given this, it may be just a matter of time before certain industrialists
capitalise on it. So that is a mere glimpse of the popular perspective from
certain financiers.

And from the perspective of the general populace, prostitution is something
that is not so under the table anymore. Amongst ‘users’ it is also rising
in popularity.

“One of the most popular attractions is the Highway
from Dresden Germany to Prague. It’s lined with
hundreds of Brothels and thousands of independents
working along the highway.”
“The world’s oldest profession is highly visible in Berlin.
As night falls, the ladies of the night parade the
Oranienburger Strasse in the heart of the capital.”

So in various regions of the world– either due to economic woe in former
Communist countries, sexual repression in the Middle East, or sexual
acceptance in Europe or Singapore etc– there is a growing market and
interest in prostitution. So much so that even legal magistrates are
changing their tune.

“A recent decision by a Berlin judge could well trigger a
change in Germany’s attitude towards prostitution…
Judge Percy Maclean said the profession was now
broadly accepted.”

Thus in this debauched era, in some nations even the courts are giving way
to the tidings of prostitution.

And perhaps, the most dangerous thing about this trend towards prostitution
is that it is being embraced by certain ‘western progressives’. In the name
of ‘freedom’ and ‘open-mindedness’, more and more are thinking that
prostitution is ok. They reason, ‘Let the people do what they want’ and
‘Why should we be confined to narrow-minded Christian beliefs’ etc. Hence,
just as the right to abortion and gay marriages have become the happy song
and voting ticket of countless so-called progressives, prostitution may not
be lagging far behind. This issue also they will soon champion, if they
haven’t already.

And if nothing else this spells t-r-o-u-b-l-e in the general society, and
even within AM.

By now, some may be thinking that what is the need to discuss this on our
Marga forum. Prostitution is not a new issue and why should we be concerned
about it.

Well for one thing, we are responsible for the proper growth and
development of humanity and we should know its trends. So when prostitution
is rearing its ugly head more and more, then we should be aware. And
secondly, and perhaps a touch scarier, is that there is an ongoing trend
that what becomes popular with the so-called western progressives also
gains acceptance in AM. That is the history.

For evidence of this, we need not look any further than the issue of
homosexuality. This is clearly a thing that, in theory, is not at all
supported by AM ideology, yet its toes have entered the front door of
Ananda Marga, and it is no secret how this has happened.

In the western mind-set, homosexuality has gained huge momentum such that
gay marriages or same-sex marriages are not only becoming more and more
prevalent, but they are becoming legal in many states and countries
throughout the western world. And many heterosexual progressives blatantly
support this as they think it makes them look more broad-minded, since by
this way they are going directly against the Christian beliefs & the
Catholic church, both of which are looked upon by ‘progressives’ as being
stagnant in the social sphere. So for this reason homosexuality has become
a major force in western social and political circles.

And it does not stop there, from this ‘progressive’ front, such ideas about
homosexuality have leaked into, if not spilled into, Ananda Marga. Because
now not only are various Ananda Margiis less apt to say or think that
homosexuality should be addressed and treated as a social disease, as Baba
says it should; but in our Marga, various outspoken activists and
self-proclaimed lesbians are given a high place in our AM society. They are
treated as ‘icons’ in some regards.

And the source of this problem stems from the fact that so-called
progressives in the west hail the cause of homosexuality. Even various
Hollywood stars like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie refuse to marry until
gays enjoy the same right to marriage in each and every state, city, and
town. So it has become ‘hip’ to support homosexuality– it defines one as
being “open-minded”.

And this very defective mind-set has crept into AM. Some in the Marga have
gotten caught up in the chase along with western ‘progressives’ such that
those same fashionable outlooks like “homosexuality go, go, go” have snuck
into AM.

Please excuse me for saying so but some of our Dadas are have very
recently been involved in homosexual realtionships. But because homosexuality
is so accepted in the general society, when a Wt indulges then it is
not seen as such a bad thing. (Note the aforesaid case is well known
and I have the details and first-hand information.)

And if we are not careful, the way things are going, within 2, 5, or 10
years, in AM we may see a similar acceptance of prostitution– all because
it has been accepted by certain western progressives.

It may seem like a far-off scenario, but actually it may be closer than we
think. And best is to get our stance straight from the very beginning, lest
some get sucked into the so-called progressive western mind-set, as has
happened with the issue of homosexuality.

Just to clarify, our perspective in AM is not that homosexuals should be
shunned & banned forever and ever; rather according to Baba such persons
should be rectified and treated. Because theirs is not a natural way to
live and we should not let our brothers and sisters fall prey to this

With full compassion, our manner is to adopt a stance against this abnormal
way of life and through 16 Points guide such people how to mend their ways.
And our view should be made clear and must not be at all ambiguous or
contradictory. We should stick to our AM ideals, and have full empathy
towards those lesbians and help them to be cured.

All this goes to show that the issues supported by ‘progressive western
intellectuals’ has a habit of sinking into AM. So we should be careful.
Because as prostitution is becoming more and more rampant around the globe
due to so many defective trends such as the massive numbers of refugees,
poverty, pseudo-culture, and a crude fascination with sex, its prevalence
is allowing it to gain acceptance into the so-called progressive
think-tank. Little by little this is happening. And we do not want the next
step being that some in AM also start thinking that prostitution is fine
and well so that they will be embraced as being ‘open-minded’ by various
so-called progressives. That is the main issue, or potential issue if we
look a touch further down the road.

In this degraded era of Kali Yuga when so many crude vices are cropping up
in so many aspects of our social life, our standard is to stick to AM
ideals and now be swayed by any so-called progressives. Surely, on one is
AM supports the notion of prostitution but as the thinking of society
changes, no one in our Marga should get swayed, for any reason.

Here then are but a few of Baba’s strict guidelines on this matter. So just
as in the case of homosexuality, Baba’s approach towards prostitution is
equally clear.

Baba says, “The repugnant social disease of prostitution is also a creation
of the vaeshyas. As a result of excessive wealth the vaeshyas lose their
self-control and their character on the one hand; and many unfortunate
women are forced by poverty to descend to this sinful occupation on the
other hand.” (HS-2)

Baba says, “Because of injustices against women with respect to their
social rights and because women are economically crippled, a section of
women is compelled to take to prostitution. Although there are many causes
of this profession, these are the main two. Ananda Marga recognizes that
women are as dignified human beings as men. Ananda Marga, in addition,
wants to encourage women to be economically independent of men. The system
in which characterless men swagger about in society while fallen women are
denied proper opportunities despite their sincere desire to lead an honest
life, can never be supported by justice.” (28 January 1958 RU, Trimohan)

By Baba’s grace as we spread the ideals of AM to the four corners, our
universal human family will grow in a sentient and nice way and recognise
the inherent value of all.

Baba says, “In this new society based on Neohumanism, everyone will find
their life worth living. All will regain their lost positions of honour.”

Special Formula of Tandava

Baba says, “Tandava: As long as a dancer remains above the ground, he
derives much benefit; when he touches the ground, then those benefits are
assimilated by the body. That is why in the tandava dance there is much
jumping, because jumping requires the practitioner to remain off the ground
for a fairly long period of time.” (NSS, p. 23)

“Saptaloke tumi bhariya’ rayecho, maneri shatadale nece calo…” (PS 2555)

Baba, You have filled all the seven lokas with Your divine vibration.
You are dancing in the hundred petal lotus of the mind. You are expressing
Yourself through all my mental vrttis; You are present everywhere.
Baba, You are the symbol of all hope and aspirations of the life.

Baba, I do not find anything similar to You. In this world You are
completely unique; You have no comparison. Whether my eyes are open or
closed in whichever direction I look I see You. You are beyond comparison.
Except You nothing is permanent. You pour Your divine effulgence upon the
faces of those who are hopeless and dejected.

Baba I see You in all the ways: In the depths of the nil moon night of
amavaysa, as well as in the showering of the nectar on the full moon night.
You are along with me all the time both in happiness and hopelessness.
Baba, You are more beautiful than that which is beautiful. You are more
loving than any loving things.

Baba You have filled up my whole existence– all the layers of my mind
are filled with Your divine presence. And You are always expressing
Yourself in each and every pore of my mind…

Note: The hundred petal lotus is representative of all the 50 vrttis
(instincts) of the mind in both their inner and outer expression. So 50
(propensities) x 2 (inner and outer) = 100 petal lotus. So this is one step
of dhyan and on certain occasions Baba also refers to the one thousand
petal lotus. That literally means the fifty propensities times their inner
and outer expressions times the ten directions. Hence 50 x 2 x 10 = 1,000.
So sometimes Baba uses the phrase hundred petal lotus and sometimes 1,000
petal lotus. Both He has approved and both refer to the full expression of
the mind.

As we all know Prout stands for Progressive Utilisation Theory. But some
keep trying to put forth the notion that Prout is linked with socialism.

As we see capitalism falling apart in countless ways, a few think that
socialism is the answer or that AM & Prout preach the gospel of socialism.

But this could not be further from the truth.

This letter touches on all the major defects of socialism so none
should get confused and equate Prout with socialism.

(#1) But see here how Baba says socialism is not good:

Baba says, “Those who speak high of socialism from a democratic platform
befool the public. It is just to avoid constitutional lapses and to secure
public confidence that leaders speak on socialism and promise to establish
a socialist pattern of society, which is nothing but an absurdity. These
so-called leaders are nothing but socialist show boys.” (PNS 4 p. 7)

(#2) And this below quote it is clear that the socialist system itself is
communism. Because all the infamous communist countries had /have socialist
governments and it was in this name that such communists did terrible harm
to the society.

BABA says, “In Soviet Russia, China, Vietnam and Eastern Europe socialist
democracy is the dominant system…in [such] communism the political and
economic system is imposed on society by party officials, causing untold
human suffering and severe psycho-economic exploitation. (PNS-21, p. 43)
Hence the socialist name itself is negative.

(#3) Furthermore we can see the political map of the whole globe. And
wherever capitalism has spread its noose they employ one special technique.
Capitalists influence the prevailing government and capture the political
power indirectly. And their rapacious exploitation continues in new and
newer form. So only criticizing capitalists, socialism does not produce any
yield. Because these socialists do not have any constructive ideals for how
to eradicate capitalism. Just their sole method is to abuse and that is
meaningless in practical aspects.

Baba says, “The leftist groups are engaged in criticizing the
capitalists, which is bearing no fruitful results, and capitalists have
captured power by influencing the ruling party.” (PNS 4)

Whereas Prout has its own platform based on economic justice and democracy, and
within the Proutistic framework Baba has given so many solutions to
social issues, whereas socialists merely throw mud on the ruling

(#4) While talking about ‘Economic Dynamics” discourse, Baba exposes
communists and socialists how their economy is based on materialism.

Because the whole profit goes either to some very few certain individuals
pocket or in the pocket of communist party leaders. So socialism and
capitalism are both working under the direction of materialistic
philosophy, i.e. profit goes to a few individuals pocket. Profit does not
go to common public. Just ultimately money gets accumulated and piled high
in the hands of a few greedy leaders.

Baba says, “In capitalist economies, production is for the profit of the
capitalist and the profit goes to individuals, groups and the state
exchequer. In socialist economies or so-called communism, the profit goes
to the state exchequer and a microscopic fraction of the profit goes to the
actual producers. In both cases capitalism exists.” (AFPS-9)

But the stand of Prout is completely different. In Prout, the profit goes
for the welfare of one and all, the common public. But because communism or
socialism or capitalism all are taking inspiration from the capitalism.
That is why the stand of Prout and stand of these materialists are
completely different, directly opposite.

(#5) Here again, in this following teaching Baba is pointing out the
defects of the commune system of communist countries on the point of
collective farming. In this teaching Baba also exposes how communism is the
same as socialism.

BABA says, “…the huge collective farms of the Soviet Union or
China….One of the main defects of the collective farms in socialist
countries is their unmanageable size.” (PNS-20, p. 42)

(#6) And in the below passage Baba condemns those socialist states because
they exploit the vast majority of the innocent local people.

BABA says, “In socialist countries, economic power is concentrated in a
small group of party leaders….a handful of people manipulate the economic
welfare of the entire society. (PNS-21)

(#7) Here below Baba exposed the extreme and rampant hypocrisy which exists
socialist regimes– group governed states. They like to call themselves
democratic and they go great lengths to present themselves as such; but in
reality they are just socialist exploiters.

Baba says, “There are some countries which abolished the monarchy long ago
and now call them selves a republic, but in these countries common people
do not even have freedom of speech, what to speak of other rights. The
state police and intelligence squads watch over the movements and
activities of the people. Though such countries call themselves republics,
in reality they are only group governed states. Are their leaders elected
through a democratic process? No, they are not. The leaders of these group
governed states fix the election machinery so that their opponents cannot
attain a majority. They disrupt elections by force, by rigging votes, or
other dishonest means in an endeavour to maintain their power illegally.
Hence, they cannot be called the advocates of democracy – they are only
group leaders elected by people of their own group or party. Their claims
to democracy are utterly inconsistent with their professed ideals and
behaviour. Their position is like someone who smears his face with black
charcoal and then covers it with white talcum powder, and proclaims to the
world: “Look how white my face is!” (PNS-14)

So the culminating idea is that socialism is one horribly negative term and
that time after time Baba points out the glaring defects of socialism. In
that case why should we stoop so low and refer to Prout in that demeaning
fashion. When we all know in our heart of hearts that Prout is means for
leading the humanity into that era of white peace and true prosperity.

Prout not only exposes the ills of capitalism and communism but our Prout
platform gives the practical solutions to so many burning issues like migrating
workers, use of resources, unemployment, wage disparities, distribution,
language issues, money stagation and so much more.

Plus Prout advance many points that are entirely new like samaj theory,
master units, cooperatives, and the list goes on and one.

Thus there is a world of difference between Prout and and of the existing
theories of the day and only Prout is the right appraoch for the humanity,
not any variation of some other system like socialism. About this,
no Ananda Margii should be confused.

Baba says, “Both capitalism and communism have failed to provide the
proper ideological inspiration and desideratum to human beings. In
the interests of the welfare of humanity, these systems should be replaced.
PROUT is against the exploitation by capitalism and the false dogma of
communism as both are detrimental to the all-round progress of
human beings. You have to fight against all sorts of corruption,
meanness and so-called secularism if Parama Purus’a is the goal.
Only then will you be able to maintain adjustment with this objective
world.” (PNS-15)

Note 1: A wrong translation has been done in the English edition of one of
our books. So in that improper way it says that Prout is progressive
socialism– but this is not correct. Mistranslation is the cause behind the
use of this faulty phrase. Because Prout is not linked up with socialism.

Note 2: Everywhere this thing is known that socialism means communism. Just
I felt the need to remind. And we all know that the full form name of the
USSR is the United Soviet Socialist Republic. This was also their hypocrisy
to use the term ‘republic’. Because there was nothing like a republic but
to befool the entire world those communists were playing some game to show
the mock election. They were trying to show that this is a socialist
republic. That is why they put the name as socialist republic, and their
leaders were elected. But in their end all their cheating and destructive
strategies got exposed and all have understood the defects of communism and
that socialism is another name for that same defective philosophy.

– Some Secret –

Baba says, “Man can do nothing. Living beings cannot do anything without
His support: that is, when a human’s desire and His desire coincide, then
only does the human desire become fruitful, otherwise it is a sure failure.
When the jiiva’s desire coincides with the desire of Parama Purusa, then it
is successful, otherwise not.” (10 September ’78)
