Baba

“Toma’rei ma’ni ka’che a’cho ja’ni, Tumi a’ma’r devata’…” (4235)

Purport:

By Your grace, I have understood this fact, that You are remaining always
very close to me. You are my devata’, You are my everything. Knowingly or
unknowingly, I am remaining in Your mind. You are my eternal saviour. Baba,
You are always living with me. It is Your grace…

== STORY: CONVERSATION WITH BABA ==

Namaskar,

The story starts here, which I received.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

I was with Baba in Delhi those days. Once He blessed me the opportunity to
go in His room and personally see Him, to serve Him. And then He started
telling many things about Lord Krishna and the whole incident of Lord
Krishna’s leaving His physical body. And in the end part of Lord Krishna’s
leaving His physical body Baba told that some poisonous arrow pierced into
Lord Krishna’s foot and that was the last…

And by listening all these long story from Baba I was feeling pain. Then
Baba asked, “Why are you feeling pain? I also have to leave My physical
body and you people must not be unhappy.” While Baba was speaking like
this I just put my hand on His mouth and with full pain I requested Him not
to say such things. “I don’t want to hear such painful things about when
You are going to leave Your physical body. Please do not say such things.”

Then Baba started smiling and took my hand away from His mouth and with
love He started convincing me. “First stop crying and then I will tell you
something.”

When I stopped crying He started saying, “All the rules of nature are made
by Parama Purusa and under that rule, one day I have to leave this physical
body. And that day will come when I have finished the work I have decided to
do with this physical body. Try to understand that when Lord Krishna
wanted to make the Great India, the Mahabharata, He made the Pandavas His
medium. And when His work was finished, with His own desire, He left His
physical body. You all are my mini-Babas. When you become like this and
are able to execute My samkalpa, then I will understand that you can
fulfill My work, and so what will be the use of My physical body? When the
work of this physical body is finished then I will leave My physical body.”

IDEOLOGY AND DHARMA ARE MOST IMPORTANT

Baba then said. “I only took this physical body to teach you all
practically and to establish Ideology. If Parama Purusa so desires He can
do anything and everything and when He created this physical world He also
made the rules to control this physical world. Prakrti is controlling
everything and so His physical body also has to follow nature’s rules that
He Himself created. Otherwise how will Nature follow its rule properly?”

“Parama Purusa has given certain rules and authority to Nature, to the
Operative Principle to follow, so He is also obeying that rule when He
comes in physical form. If Lord Krishna had so desired, dharma would have
been established even without the complete destruction of the Kaoravas but
it would not have been inspiring history. Actually, Lord Krishna wanted to
teach the public that they should come forward to save dharma and that
happened.”

After Baba’s talk I was crying and I put my hand on Baba’s mouth and
requested Him, “Baba please do not say such painful things. Listening to
those things, has made me cry so do not say such things. If you so desire
You may leave Your physical body, but promise me that You will not go
before me. You must not leave me.”

After listening to my pain Baba assured me. He said, “What you are
thinking will happen like this. I was in your Guru Cakra, I am in your
Guru Cakra and I always will remain in your Guru Cakra. You people are the
image of My ideology, and the world will know Me by your actions.”

Before leaving the room I asked Baba if He would answer some questions.

On this point, Baba smiled and said, “Whatever you want, you can ask without any
fear.”

BABA BECAME FURIOUS ABOUT QUERY OF PARASATTANANDJI

THAT THE MAHAPRAYAN OF LORD SHIVA AND KRSNA –

CELEBRATED OR NOT

I (Parasattananda) asked Baba, “Why is it that people do not celebrate the
death day of Lord Shiva and Lord Krishna yet people celebrate the birth
ceremony of Lord Krishna?” When I asked Baba this question He became
furious and in a loud voice, Baba scolded me. “Does Parama Purusa die any
time? He is an eternal entity, He never dies.”

When I saw His furious face I started trembling and sweating and I felt
strong repentance for asking such a question. Then Baba said, “Lord
Krishna as well as Lord Shiva is Parama Purusa and for doing great work and
to establish dharma, He comes in physical form and when dharma has been
established, then He leaves His physical body. For permanent relief to
sadhus, and the complete destruction of bad people, the Lord comes in human
form. And when His work is over, when dharma is established, He leaves His
physical body.”

“Lord Krishna did the same thing and with His desire, He left His physical
body when His work was finished. Because He is Parama Purusa and eternally
present all the time, then how one can celebrate His death day. He is
Omni-Present. He is Parama Purusa. So there is no question of celebrating
the death day of Lord Shiva and Lord Krishna.”

In the last Baba with strong voice asked me, “When I (Baba) leave My
physical body will you people want to celebrate My death day?”

Listening the commanding voice of Baba I was scared and replied slowly, “No, Baba. ”

After that Baba became mild and He told me “It is getting late at night,
you go and take rest.”

And after I did sastaunga pranam and I quickly escaped from His room and
took a deep breath, and started pondering that how Baba is furious about my
question. Constant idea was hovering in my mind that how HE was furious.

Because of that still I remember the whole episode that His so-called
Mahaprayan must not be celebrated. That is why in my personal life I never
participated. How I can participate and disobey His command and make Him
unhappy. Since a long time I am telling this story to all who I see on
different occasions. That is why since the beginning I am a strong opposer
of this so-called Mahaprayan.

——

Here I am quoting some Baba’s direct lines which are highly significant.

Baba says, “Guru rus’te na kaschan….”

‘The meaning of the whole sloka is that when Guru is unhappy then nobody
in this universe can save the person.’

That is why it is also said,

“Mantra mulam…
‘Guru’s words are mantra…’

This is the same reason that happened that Sarvatmanananda disobeyed
Baba on this above said story and look what is going on with his fate.

Note: This story is translated from Dada Parasattanandaji’s book
‘Manavrata ka Sunahala Bhavishya’, which means “The Golden Future of Humanity”.

Dada Parasattanandji is posted in India most of the time. These
days postings and transfers are so common in our Marga but as far as my
awareness in the recent past Dadaji was posted in Bihar. He is a very
respected and good Dada and he is WT since 1967.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Namaskar,
Girish

Lord Baba says:

“The person who is engaged in service, if in his mind this ideation is there,
‘I have served him. Then he should also do something for me. It will be

this feeling should be there: ‘I have come on this earth to serve others.
It is my duty. But no one has any duty towards me.'” (AV-9, Ch 11 [Hindi])

Namaska’ram. Lord Buddha said idol worship shouldn’t be done. After his
death his disciples started making idol of Buddha & worshipping him.
This is a negative point what historians point out for downfall of
BUddhism. Similarly Baba clearly mentioned in CARYA”CARYA that shraddha
should be observed within twelve days of death of a person. But after
His physical departure a group of followers have been observing
anniversary of 21st october in the name of MAHA”PRAYA”N”A. Now the
proposal is to observe same day as SAMKALPA Divas. Let’s follow whatever
Ba’ba’ has given in black & white. Let’s not add like MAHAPRAYAN or
Samkalapa divas. Let’s observe A”NANDA PU”RNMA” as instructed by HIM in
Carya’carya.

Thanking you

Subject: Who Gets Frustrated

Baba

“Ga’n geye ja’bo…” P.S. 2305

Purport:

Baba, I will go on singing Your song– Your glory. It’s up to You
whether You will grace me by listening to these songs or not. But with
these songs, in my deep contemplation, I will generate divine vibrations,
by Your grace– and go on serving You.

Baba with my deep yearning I am calling You again and again without
getting any response– You are not paying heed to my call. By avoiding me
maybe You are thinking that I will not sing Your song anymore and that I
will remain quiet. And that in frustration, I will give up the hope of
getting You. And that I will no longer engage in the flow of those divine
tunes and melodies, which is inundating the vast sky, by Your grace. And
that I will not utilize these melodious treasures in my practical life to
go closer to You.

Baba, with the strength of knowledge, wisdom, intellect, and worldly
attributions, Your depth cannot be measured– nobody can realise You.
But by surrendering that very unit “I” which already belongs to You, and
with the divine sweetness of singing Your name I will surely get You by
Your grace.

Baba, I sing my songs only for You. Please listen to these heart-felt
loving melodies– and be gracious…

Note: In the above song, the sadhaka has deep love and a strong yearning
for Parama Purusa. So when Parama Purusa does not respond to his call in
the way that he desires, then the sadhaka makes one loving accusation
towards Parama Purusa. So actually that is not an accusation per se, but
rather an intimate type of loving expression. And Baba is approving that
devotees have the right to do like this and that this loving way of
communication is quite natural.

== WHO GETS FRUSTRATED ==

Namaskar,
Everyone wishes to do something great with their life and contribute
something special while on this earth. However, human beings are
motivated in different ways. Sometimes their motivation serves as a
perennial source of inspiration for dharmic works and sometimes their
motivating force sends them into an inevitable state of depression and
frustration.

We should take a look at the operative factors involved – i.e. what is a
person’s motivating force – as well as understand why some tend to get
frustrated.

REACTIONARY PEOPLE: Part 1

There are some who Baba has termed as reactionary type of people. Let us
see who they are and if their pathway leads to frustration or not.

One classic case is the communists in Bengal. They watched as our Marga
gathered more and more followers and sympathizers by performing service
to the needy, poor and destitute. The common people were rallying around
us because of our plans and programs to uplift them from disaster and
poverty.

Seeing this, the communists were seething, i.e. burning with jealousy.
They too then started social service projects – out of a reaction to
what was being done by our Marga. In contrast to our works – which were
motivated by a sincere desire to serve – the communists were only
engaging in “service” as one ploy or strategy to combat us. They were
jealous of the positive attention we were getting.

The communist doctrine did not assert that service is indispensable in
society nor was this their normal way of working. They were not doing
this as their duty to serve others, just they were doing out of
reaction. That was their primary motivation.

Not surprisingly, it was not long before all their frustrations mounted,
their desire fizzled, and ultimately their projects crumbled into dust.

Hence Baba has nothing good to say about such reactionaries – who do not
out of a sincere desire to serve, but to satisfy their selfish needs out
of sheer jealousy.

Baba says, “You will have to identify such reactionary forces in the
society, such vocal revolutionaries who claim to be
socio-economico-political reformists, but who actually befool the people
by adopting such pseudo-reformist, pseudo-humanistic strategies. You
will have to recognize them all.” (NH-LOI: Disc 9)

REACTIONARY PEOPLE: Part 2

The next obvious question is do such things – reactionary approaches –
happen within our Marga as well. Unfortunately, since 1990, there have
been many such examples.

For instance, some years ago H group ((Ranchi et al.) began protesting
against the dogma of mahaprayan, but soon their cries against this dogma
died out. It did not take long before they became totally frustrated on
this issue.

Why? Because their motivation was totally based on opposing B group and
dismantling their program – i.e. out of reaction to the Kolkata faction.
They did not like that B group had a long kiirtan program so out of
jealousy they started their own dogmatic tiirtha in Jamalpur with a ten
day kiirtan. But again, they were not motivated by any higher ideal –
i.e. not out of love for Baba or to uphold His eternal nature. Rather
their chief purpose was to push Kolkata in the mud and grab the
attention for themselves. Thus from the Ranchi side, frustrations
mounted quickly and their opposition came to a halt. The proof is that
today we do not see them rally against the dogma of mahaprayan and
their own dogmatic Jamalpur tiirtha program is a total bust.

So that is one instance of a reactionary event in AM – and, truth be
told, there are countless others. And the common theme among theme all
is extreme jealousy.

Nearly every groupist strategy and approach is reactionary – done in
opposition to another group. Never do they do out of ideological
yearning. One group expels the other, and then vice versa. This is all
done out of reaction. They do not oppose the wrongful practice of
expulsion – they just are motivated to counteract the other group. So
their cries against the unfairness of expulsion do not last long.

That is further proof that groupists are nothing but reactionaries, not
ideologiists. If their group members perform a negative action they all
keep mum, but if the other group does the same thing they raise a big
hue and cry. Such a mentality is no better than party politics; rather
it is party politics.

Baba says, “Are they not the ones resorting to mud-slinging for the sake
of party politics? Most of them are blinded by their obsession for
power, so what can they teach others?” (POD #32)

So the motivation behind every groupist is approach is crude – done out
of jealous reaction – and that is why such groupists are continually
frustrated in life. Never are they basking in His bliss, never do their
plans and programs come to fruition, always they are just in a state of
angst, trying to outdo their opposition.

Plus we see such reactionary approaches in individual life as well.

Sometimes a Dada sees another person doing long sadhana and then that
Dada vows to do sadhana for twice as long. This is nothing but reaction
& jealousy. That Dada is not guided by the high ideal to serve and love
Parama Purusa. Rather their sole motivation is to “outdo” that sadhaka
etc. For that reason, their days of doing “long sadhana” do not last
long. Quickly they get frustrated – and even when they were supposedly
sitting for long sadhana, their mind was not involved in the mantra.
Just they were looking over their shoulder to ensure they were sitting
the longest.

And there are countless such cases in individual life as well. We can
all think of many such examples.

Whether in individual life or group life, such reactionary type of
people are just “leg-pullers”, i.e. just trying to wrestle another party
to the ground out of jealousy. They have no higher motivation than that.
In cent-per-cent of these instances, frustration rises mounts quickly,
and the entire approach is derailed.

Baba says, “They are reactionaries. They suffer from a mental disease.
They are afraid to accept the new; they suffer from fear complex. They
utter high-sounding phrases, but their hearts are filled with fear
complexes.” (NH-LOI, Disc: 7)

So these reactionaries are one category of people who get easily
frustrated.

HYPOCRISY UNVEILED: Part 1

A second category of people that get easily frustrated are those who
resort to hypocrisy. But like reactionaries, these people also can be
easily identified.

The classic example is any groupist who is not currently in power. In
that case, such a person will walk around and act sweet, soft and humble
with all the margiis. They will empathize with the struggles of margii /
family life, offer encouragement in sadhana, and act with all kinds of
niceties. And they will brag about all the great things they will do for
others etc.

One might become truly convinced that this Dada really is a gem. But the
proof comes later on.

As soon as that groupist Dada comes to power, then their thirst for
power and control knows no bounds. Their years of frustration vent fully
and one can see that such this groupist is a veritable despot, crushing
all in their way. But again, due to their severe lack of divine
inspiration, their tenure will not last long and one day they are sure
to lament about their failed ways.

Whether we look at Sarvatmananda, Tiirthananda, Rudrananda, or whichever
group leader, they all fall prey to the above formula. They are tried
and true hypocrites, destined for frustration.

When in power they rule with an iron fist and when not in power they
wear the mask of hypocrisy and pretend the be saintly in order to gain
more followers and ultimately overthrow the ruling group. It is just one
duplicitous cycle.

HYPOCRISY UNVEILED: Part 2

Here again, those suffering from this sort of hypocrisy are not limited
to groupists only. Anyone who is hankering for praise or attention or
power is like that. But in our Marga, mostly these are groupists and
their tools.

Many perform sadhana, asanas, fasting, reading of Baba’s books all so
that others will revere them. But if they do not get the attention they
seek or when others are not around to watch, then such persons will be
1000% frustrated and they will give up their holy behavior.

I think we have all seen such type of behaviour.

THESE TWO GROUPS CAN’T LAST LONG

Really, there is much more to say, but at this point the subject is
quite clear and already many were aware about such things.

The main difference between these two groups is that reactionaries are
primarily those in power who are jealous of any other party gaining
momentum, whereas hypocrites are those factional teams not in power who
feign saintly behaviour to garner more followers and gain the sympathy
of others. That is the general rule.

The solution then is two-fold: To be very sincere in our own spiritual
practices, service others with honest intention of welfare, and identify
those reactionaries and hypocrites who are polluting society, both
outside and within our Marga.

Becoming a reactionary or hypocrite is a severe blow to the human
personality – so we must not let us happen to us either. Such a person
is destined for angst and frustration and in the future one will suffer
the tortures of their past actions.

We should all drastically avoid any such ways and be sincere in Sixteen
Points and always ask Baba to keep us on the path of supreme benevolence.

PERENNIAL SOURCE OF INSPIRATION

The true path of Ananda Marga is the path of revolution – boldly
pronouncing the truth in all sphere of life, not caring if praise or
censure comes our way – not motivated by jealousy or the lust for power.

Baba says, “Those who are courageous enough to speak out this truth in
clear language – those who say, “Shatter this bondage of limitation!” –
their path is called the path of revolution.” (NH-LOI, Disc: 7)

Our inspiration comes directly from Him and our sole aim is to please
Parama Purusa. With this type of approach, all kinds of great works can
get done and one will never feel tired, frustrated, or exasperated –
always one will be infused with Divine inspiration.

If anyone has a sincere motivation to (a) help others, (b) bring forth
the banner of AM ideology, and (c) please Baba, then invariably they
will face strong opposition. But frustration will never enter the lives
of such persons. Always they will be infused with a perennial source of
inspiration that comes directly from Him. They wil always drift in His
bliss.

One great example of all this is what happened during Emergency. The
communist government and all their battalions were against AM, our Marga
was imprisoned, yet so many in the Marga held strong and kept
ideological zeal and optimism despite the harsh treatment. It almost
seemed like the greater the torture, the more inspiration those
dharmikas had. No one gave up – because they had an inner urge to serve
Baba. The few who left AM had some other crude goal in mind.

We should always ensure that we are motivated by the idea of serving and
pleasing Him, with the intention of becoming one with Parama Purusa.
Then we will never fall prey to hypocritical or reactionary tendencies.

If any work is done WITHOUT that benevolent motive then such persons
will bind themselves and destroy their inner peace and tranquility.

We must not not waste our time in such nasty dealings – life is too
short. No one should fall prey to being a reactionary or hypocrite. That
is only inviting a life of exasperation and frustration – nothing more.

BABA’S BLESSING

By Baba’s grace He has given us all the tools to achieve victory – i.e.
attain Him. Parama Purusa likes it when we follow ideology and avoid
getting caught up in the mess of maya. We must think about Parama Purusa
and do what He says, i.e. those well documented tenets outlined in His
dharmashastra. That is the only way to lead a life devoid of any
frustration – working tirelessly to spread His ideals.

Baba says, ‘Sadvipras will never have any rest. They will have to
continue fighting tirelessly. This fight is the life of living beings.”
(POD, #34)

Namaskar,
Gagan

Note 1: ONE CLASSIC CASE

Being a reactionary can happen to anyone – if they are not careful. Thus
it is not limited to people outside the marga or to certain groupist
forces. Anyone who is not guided by divine inspiration and ideological
motivation is susceptible to becoming a reactionary.

Of late there has been the case of a margii formerly of Seattle, WA
(USA) and his whole entire approach was to give a knee-jerk reaction
against anybody upholding the tenets of ideology. This poor margii
suffered / suffers from extreme jealousy and inferiority complexes. He
is perpetually nervous and scared that others will take his place or
position – he always thinks that others will loot his prestige and
recognition.

Thus with white knuckles he clutches onto his plethora of organisational
posts, clings onto organisational dogmas held by the ruling regime, and
simultaneously tries to suppress anyone who raises the flag of ideology.

Unfortunately for him his life has just become one internal ball of
frustration, bound up in jealousy and dryness – nothing more. No one
should fall into this way of life. It is like living in a spiritual
desert, bereft of any connection with the Divine.

By Baba’s grace we should all hope and pray for this aforesaid margii to
be rectified soon, lest his past karma make for a bleak future. Let us
all hope for the best.

***************************************
One New Dogma

Baba says, “Ananda Marga is for one and all: I wish to disseminate dharma
among all. The dedicated sannyasis (monks) and sannyasinis (nuns) of Ananda
Marga have accepted their life of sannyasihood (renunciation) not out of
any escapist mentality, but to further the cause of human welfare. And
through their service, they seek to lead human beings along the path of
righteousness, to the abode of Supreme Bliss.” (AFPS-3, p. 30)

Note: Nowadays one dogma is getting injected that the Ananda Marga
sannyasis system is just temporary– that it was made only for the time
being. This poisonous dogma has been put forth in a book titled
“Divyacaksu”. The book itself is a collection of Baba stories told by the
late family Ac. Dasarathji. And the book was edited by householder Acarya
Pratapa’ditya. Actually 1% of the book is Dasarthji’s stories and the other
99% is the gossip of senior editor Pratapa’ditya. And it is in
Pratapa’ditya’s printed gossip in the middle of the book where he has
inserted his misguided idea that the AM sannyasis order is only temporary.
But this is entirely wrong. Because the sannyasis order is a permanent
feature of AM. Baba has given the system that sannyasis and family people
will be working together, side by side. So the AM sannyasis system is an
on-going and permanent aspect of AM society. Our Ananda Marga is a balanced
philosophy. It is unlike the dogma of Buddhism which dictates that everyone
should be sannyasis; nor is it similar to the dogma of Islam that claims
that everyone should be a family person. Rather our Marga is a balanced
approach: There are family persons and sannyasis. This is Baba’s permanent
& dharmic system. So persons like Pratapa’ditya should be made aware and
corrected and he should not get scope to taint our AM philosophy and Baba
stories by sticking his misguided ideas right there in the middle of the
book, “Divyacaksu” which is a compilation Ac Dasarathji’s stories.

Baba

== MAHAPRAYAN* (Death) OF SHRII ARVIND SAHADEO JII ==

Namaskar,
Today it is with sadness that we announce the mahaprayan of our dear
respected brother Shrii Arvind Lal Sahadeo of Ranchi.

Many are aware of Shrii Sahadeoji’s exceptional service to the Marga. He
played a big role in VSS and served as Baba’s bodyguard during DMC etc.
In addition he created a master unit in his village area (discussed
below), among many other important works.

But perhaps his greatest contribution was Shrii Sahadeoji’s opposition
to dogma within AMPS:

1) From the beginning, he protested against the so-called mahaprayan
program as he fully believed in Baba’s eternal presence.

(Note: Here it should be qualified that there is such a thing as both
real mahaprayan and fake mahaprayan. Real mahaprayan remarks the death
of any ordinary human being. This is the proper use of the term: to note
a person’s departure from this earth. That is the way mahaprayan is to
be used.

Then there is the fake, or so-called, or dogmatic mahaprayan and that
is when certain agents try to apply the mahaprayan term to Parama Purusa
Himself. This is totally inappropriate because when Baba is that Divine
Entity who is beginningless and endless and resides always in our heart,
then it is totally wrong to proclaim that He is gone.

That is why rational margiis are protesting and labeling the Oct 21st
program as so-called mahaprayan. So-called means that something is fake.
Parama Purusa is eternal, thus for groupists to declare his “mahaprayan”
is nothing but so-called mahaprayan.

Mahaprayan only really happens in the case of human beings.)

2) At that time, Shrii Sahadeoji was Bhukti Pradhan of Ranchi which is a
huge unit. Back then opposing groupist dogmas was no joke – it took
great courage.

3) The groupist powers tried to victimise him. Because at that time
Sarvatmananda was also raising money for the dogmatic memorial project
in Ananda Nagar and sending his stooge Parmeshvarananda to Ranchi to
collect money. There was a lot of pressure to give money – but Shrii
Sahadeoji refused to give even one ruppee for those dogmatic and
groupist projects. He was telling that the memorial of Parama Purusa is
this entire creation, not some limited building on a small piece of
land. A memorial is made for a human being, not for Parama Purusa. One
cannot propagate his glory via one building.

4) Shrii Sahadeoji also fought for margii rights, BP rights, and
protested scripture distortion.

It is well known that with his own personal money Shrii Sahadeoji
established the master unit at Gumla in Ranchi diocese. An MU Dada was
living there with him.

So Shrii Sahadeoji’s activity and service in AM was widespread and
varied. But even then that was not all.

As many will certainly recall, Shrii Sahadeoji was extremely active in
pracara:
1) He was a bank manager near a university and he would regularly bring
students for initiation and would invite Dadas to give lectures at the
university.

2) He was also responsible for bringing his entire family into AM. His
wife and children were previously involved (up till ’85) in the idol
worship of Santosii Ma (Mother Goddess Santosii – one mythological
deity). So even though his wife’s father was a family acarya, it took
the dedication of Shrii Sahadeoji to bring his wife onto the real path
of AM.

3) Shrii Sahadeoji also ensured that his own laokika father took AM
initiation as well.

Finally, here is one very telling account. In 1989-90, Baba needed
full-time care of a doctor. This was a big sacrifice because it demanded
that AM doctors give up their own practice and personal commitments to
go to Baba and work for one month at a time. Doing this was a big
maneuver because one would have to leave their own medical work for an
entire month. But Shrii Sahadeoji convinced his wife who was a doctor to
engage in this service to Guru. And by Baba’s grace his wife became one
of Baba’s personal physicians and served very admirably in this capacity.

Thus, Shrii Sahadeoji’s life was full of love, dedication, and
commitment to Guru and Ananda Marga. His is a big loss to our AM family.

Tragically, Shrii Sahadeoji’s suffered two strokes over the course of
the last few years. Even then, with his tantric spirit he was able to
overcome paralysis and engage in service work for the organisation. But
it was on 5 Sep 2009 that he suffered his 3rd stroke from which he could
never recover. It was that last stroke that led to his mahaprayan.

Shrii Sahadeoji’s mahaprayan took place at 3:30pm Friday, Sep 25, 2009.
At the time of his mahaprayan, Shrii Sahadeoji was under medical care in
Ranchi and he ultimately died in Modi Seva Sadan. He is survived by his
wife and two children.

On the occasion of his mahaprayan (death), let us remember our dear
brother who always wanted to serve the Marga and who created a master
unit for the propagation of AM ideals. It is sad to see him gone, i.e.
mahaprayan.

By His grace, we can all take solace in the blessed truth that by his
mahaprayan Shrii Sahadeoji has reached his final abode unto Baba’s lap.
At least now his long struggle with strokes and paralysis is over. Baba
has taken it upon Himself to save our devoted brother and grant him
salvation.

With deepest respects,
Yours brotherly,
Manindra

Note 1: ASTERISK NOTE ABOUT MAHAPRAYAN

* Mahaprayan (Death): Many are aware that mahaprayan (death) is the
common term used in India and especially in Bengal to describe the death
of an honoured or even ordinary person. In that way the newspapers of
Bengal are regularly citing the mahaprayan (death) of various persons of
society who died or passed away.

Some may get confused and wrongly think that the word ‘mahaprayan’
(death) is one extraordinarily devotional term to be used in association
with Parama Purusa. But that is not at all the case. Rather to do so is
only to undermine the eternal presence of Parama Purusa. That is why no
devotees ever use the word ‘mahaprayan’ in reference to Lord Shiva or
Lord Krsna. Because Lord Shiva and Lord Krsna exist eternally. Then
there is no question of Their mahaprayan (death).

And for those who need still more technical proof then all this can
be clarified quite readily by referencing the dictionary. Specifically
in the Samsad Bengali-English dictionary on page 742. Checking there it
will be confirmed that the word ‘mahaprayan’ means death. Which is why
it used to refer to the passing away of even common citizens.

Baba

“Pra’n’ tumi dhele diyechile…” (P.S. #2344)

Purport:

Baba, You have showered Your grace in each and every nook and corner of
this earth. Each and every particle of this universe has received Your
grace. Nowhere remained untouched. Baba, You have showered Your grace. You
have spread Your love with those divine songs of Prabhat Samgiita. By its
music, melody, and resonance.

Baba, with Your divine love, You intoxicated all divinely and swayed
everyone’s heart. And You filled and inundated everyone’s heart with divine
ideation. By Your grace, the devotional feeling got language to express its
heartfelt love to Parama Purusa, and hopelessness disappeared. Everyone’s
heart is now dancing in the tune and melody.

O’, the Controller of everything. With Your longing, with Your ideation,
my whole existence is vibrated.

No one is unfortunate, no one is lowly and meagre. Everyone is floating
in Your mind. By Your grace, everyone is surviving. Baba, You showered Your
grace on all. Everyone is charged with divine love…

== HE HAS COVERED ALL THE POINTS ==

Namaskar,
We must follow Baba in all respects. He has given all that is needed –
period. He has given the sadhana; He has given the social teachings;
and He has given all our days of festival – spare none. There is nothing
that He has not given.

Thus those who foolishly insist that the dogmatic Mahaprayan program
is to be part of our AM culture, knowingly or unknowingly insinuate
that Baba is incomplete or imperfect – as if He forgot to tell about
Mahaprayan.

When in fact we know that Baba as the Parama Purusa incarnate has addressed
everything, including events after His physical disappearance. Yet He never
mentioned one word about Mahaprayan celebration.

Here the point is that we should follow Baba, not groupists.

Now again the season has arrived where various groupist and dogmatic WTs
etc are promoting their so-called Mahaprayan program. Means Baba is eternal
but certain crude persons are trying to impose their dogmatic Mahaprayan
function on the common margiis. Most have rejected this program as it goes
against our basic devotional feeling. And here below is more explanation
about why Baba Himself does not appreciate this Mahaprayan program as well
as other proofs for why it is just one dogmatic function– nothing more.

Mana Vrinda’bane rayecha

Baba, O’ my Lord You are living in the Vrindaban of my heart…

MY QUESTION TO DADAJI

One time I asked my DC [VSS] Dada that, “Dadaji, you told that Baba has
given everything in AM- all the solutions to the problems of the present
world and beyond. But is it that HE might have forgot to tell about this
Mahaprayan (MPD) program, & that is why our Central Dadas introduced MPD
themselves in Oct 1990? Because one margii was telling that ‘how Baba can
tell about His own passing away to margiis and include such a ceremony in
Caryacarya?’ That Margii, Satyadeva, further told that Baba might have
thought that if He Himself will tell to Margiis or disclose about His
Mahaprayan then margiis will cry out. So Baba did not include Mahaprayan
ceremony in CC part 1. Dadaji what is your comment on this.”

WAY OF DOING GURU PUJA

Dadaji replied, “You see, those who got acarya training they know that Baba
as a Guru, HE tells all the do’s and dont’s for His disciples. For example,
In our Acarya diary, Baba says such things which I am giving you the
outline here. While teaching about system of Guru Puja in Senior Ac. diary
appendix, Baba described that if disciples / sadhakas have strong feeling
to offer some worldly things in Guru Puja, they can do it. Even those
sadhakas could give those things to Guru during His physical Presence. But
Baba directs us that AFTER His physical departure then those material
things which we desire to offer to Him, those things should be distributed
to needy people. And if sadhakas are offering some flowers then it should
be thrown into flowing river water. Baba explains all this very clearly in
the Senior Acarya Diary.”

Dadaji said, “So, do you understand?”

I said, “Yes Dadaji. I think as you told that when Guru is physically
present then we can offer worldly things to Him directly. If a sadhaka has
strong desire to do like that. But Baba further directs us that if one has
a strong desire to offer physical objects to Him, our Gurudeva, after His
physical passing. Then those objects should be given to appropriate members
of the society who are lacking those very things. That will be the true
service to Baba.”

“Very good” Dada replied.

CARYACARYA SCRIPTURE IS COMPLETE

Then Dadaji said, “Baba has given the full list of social and spiritual
functions of Ananda Marga in our Caryacarya part 1. This list does not
include Mahaprayan (MPD).”

He continued, “No doubt, some dogmatic people may be thinking that Baba
deliberately did not speak about HIS physical departure because it would
have been untolerable for most of us. But I think this very idea is
completely incorrect. Because when Baba describes about His physical
departure in Acarya training book, then if He would have felt necessary
then surely He would have included this MPD function into our Caryacarya
scripture as well. But Baba did not do so. So according to my logical
conclusion, Mahaprayan itself is negative program and it is not approved by
Baba because it is against the fundamental teachings of Marga Guru.”

“With rational mind one can say Mahaprayan is dogma because it has no
logic, just MPD is one imposed, restricting type of idea. Just see what Baba
says on this point.”

Then I saw in A Few Problems Solved book, that BABA says, “Perhaps you know
what dogma means. Dogma means an idea around which some line is demarcated,
beyond which it is prohibited to go. ‘You will have to accept this
doctrine, you cannot go beyond it.’ — this sort of restricting idea is
called dogma…Remember, you are not alone in this world, not only in this
world but also in this entire universe. This universe is pervaded by Parama
Purusa. We are always sitting on His very lap.” AFPS pt 4, p.23

“So see” Dadaji explained. “Baba tells that Parama Purusa is everywhere;
Baba tells dogma is that which restricts the mind; Mahaprayan says Baba has
departed or gone away; then surely Mahaprayan comes under the category of
dogma.”

WAY OF DOING INITIATION

“Look at it this way”, Dadaji added, “You see when any acarya teaches or
imparts initiation, any sadhana lesson increase, or lesson revision, then
if acarya is proper then they must sit few minutes in dhyan and take the
permission from Baba. After getting permission then one has right to teach
sadhana, especially 6th lesson. So this is the system.”

“But if Baba is gone, left, away, means if Mahaprayan happened, then how
one can get permission? To get this divine permission, we have to see that
Baba is not just one worldly / physical entity. Surely ordinary mortal
human beings die or become gone or pass away, BUT similar thing is not in
Baba’s case. Our Baba is not ordinary mortal He is Parama Brahma. In Ananda
Vacanamrtam part 3 Baba says like this following”:

“Guru, that expression of Parama Brahma that dispels all your spiritual
darkness, is Parama Brahma. That is, Parama Brahma exhibits Himself in the
form of Guru just to dispel your clouds of ignorance and spiritual
slumber.” (Pg 16 AVM 3)

So Baba, being the Parama Brahma, is God incarnate, or Taraka Brahma. Like
this Dadaji told.

BABA IS BEYOND COMPARISON

“When we are preaching others then we preach, that there is no comparison
of the Personality of Taraka Brahma”. Baba says in Namami Krsna Sundaram:

Tula’ va’ upama’ Krs’n’asya na’sti;
Krs’n’a Bhagava’n svayam” (NKS, p.212)

Meaning: There is no comparison of the Lord’s attributions. Taraka Brahma
can be compared with Himself and Himself alone. No entity is similar to Him.
Dada went on, “It is so regrettable that according to our convenience
sometimes we preach that Baba is Taraka Brahma Sadguru, and other times
according to selfish convenience we compare Baba with mortal human being
and think that He passed away as normal human beings do. That is not good.”
“I think that those who believe in Mahaprayan (MPD), they think of Baba as
ordinary mortal. These MPD believers forget their Goal that Baba is
Sadguru, the All-Pervading Omnipresent Being. And that very Baba Shrii
Shrii Anandamurtiji is unparalleled, beyond comparison. Then why we should
compare that very Supreme Entity as normal human being coming under the
domain of life and death?”

“When we are preaching Baba’s stories then we comprehend that idea that
Baba is above all human beings, Baba is living with us and He is helping.
But the next moment when we talk about Mahaprayan (MPD) then we just
overlook the whole spiritual philosophy or devotional aspect and start
thinking Baba as one mortal frame. How ironic!”

THE SUN CANNOT BE HARMED

“If we think carefully then we can understand and we should correct also
that according to our convenience we should not degrade Baba’s status. If
any innocent person will try to spit on the sun in mid-day, you can think
that who will be affected. Surely not the sun. So we should be careful.
Undermining and abusing Baba will not harm Him but ourselves. So my feeling
is that Baba is with us we should not compare Him as ordinary human being
like those who get Mahaprayan etc. Rather our approach should be like how
Baba describes here in Neo-Humanism book.”

Then Dadaji showed me this beautiful passage from ‘Devotional Sentiment and
Neo-Humanism’:

Baba says, “As we have already said, the greatest human treasure is
devotional sentiment, devotional wealth. This devotional wealth must be
preserved….Whenever we see that the pressure of external circumstances
threatens this life essence we should appeal to the Supreme, “O Lord,
please be kind enough to protect our inner vitality from total
destruction-save us from the agony of total loss.” (NH – pg 7)

By this I understood, that we must protect our devotional feeling from the
onslaughts of worldly pressures and events such as Mahaprayan, and we
should ask help from Baba in this regard.

WORDS FROM A SENIOR MARGII

When I was talking with Dada about all this, then one senior margii Ram
Dayalji also came and joined. Then he told some things on MPD point which
was new thing for me.

Ram Dayalji told ‘this invention of Mahaprayan is done with the motive to
create inferiority complex in the mind of those sadhakas who could not see
Baba in physical frame. That is why those central Dadas who were enjoying
Baba’s physical proximity before 1990, these Dadas selfishly thought that
this will be one gaining point in their career. And they can undermine
margiis who did not see Baba before 1990, and such margiis should be
treated as 2nd class margiis and unfortunate one.’

Here is more of what Ram Dayalji was talking:

‘Because believers of Mahaprayan are preaching that Baba passed away, so
now there is no scope to go close to Baba. Or go in His close proximity. So
that opportunity is gone forever. By that way those who could not avail the
opportunity or those who were born after 1990 or because of any reason
those who could not see Baba, they should realise mentally that they are
all unfortunate beings.’

Ram Dayalji concluded, “Excuse me this above approach is not my feeling.
This is the background thinking of those who cultivated the ideas of
Mahaprayan. By that way they think that in AM society they will be treated
fortunate because they lived along with Baba, and those who could not live
in Baba’s physical proximity they are all in subordinated category. By this
way inferiority complex has been injected by introduction of Mahaprayan.”

PRABHAT SAMGIITA:

Closeness Means Psychic Closeness

So after sharing with you all I heard and learned from my respected Dada
and Ram Dayalji, I am ending with one song of Baba.

Those who are devotees, they know that this PS # 3286 “Keu ka’che peyeo”
gives this message that living physically close has no value. Many
physically live close but they are living far from Him. But many live
physically far but keep Him in their hearts.

Keu ka’che peyeo cinate na’re, dure thekeo cene…” PS #3286

Puurport: By getting physically close they do not recognize Him, whereas
some even from a distance recognize His magnanimity. Whereas others by
getting His sweet touch even, then they drown in staticity. And some
without knowing, they unknowingly believe fully in His greatness. O’ my
Lord You are doing so many things for me. You are filling my heart with
nectar. I am so unfortunate that after all this grace I do not recognize
You and remain oblivious…

So let us all be like those A-grade devotees who with deep inner devotion
recognise Baba’s divine beauty and treasure Him always in their heart.

Respectfully yours.
Manoj.

********************************************
Sam’ska’ra Bhoga

Baba says, “The reaping of consequences of original actions performed by a
human being occurs mainly in the psychic sphere. And if a person attains
the blessings of evolved beings and the Cosmic grace in that same psychic
sphere, the problem is solved. Pain and misery is bound to come. Depending
upon one’s inborn sam’ska’ras and the actions performed, tortures and
afflictions are bound to be undergone – the expression of one’s own
reactive momenta. Tortures and afflictions will not be as severely painful
as before; with the blessing and grace, the psychic afflictions will be
removed. Well, when there is pain and the pain is not felt as such, should
it then be called pain? In this case, in the psychic sphere, one will
remain in a state of bliss. Let the afflictions come. When the affliction
and pain are not felt as such, one should not worry about it.” (PNS-14)

Note: In this materialistic era, people commonly think that those with
money, or those with a big house, or those with name and fame, do not
suffer from any problems, pain, or difficulties. But here in the above
excerpt, Baba is directly telling us that suffering occurs in the mental
sphere– not just in the physical sphere. Because one’s samskara primarily
take expression in the mind. Those problems and pains are undergone in the
psychic strata. Thus no one should think that just because someone is
wealthy or drives a fancy car then it means that they do not have any
problems in life. It is not like that. This dogma we should try to remove
from our social outlook. Because as Baba indicates above, irregardless of
one’s financial position, level of education, or professional attainment,
to one degree or another everyone has problems in the psychic sphere, and
that is how they exhaust their samskaras. So no matter how much wealth one
accumulates in the worldly sphere, one’s mental pain and suffering will not
diminish. Suffering happens in mental realm and everyone experiences it
according to their samskaras. And that suffering will remain until one is
established on the path of spirituality. Thus the only the way to
permanently relieve oneself of any suffering is not to chase after worldly
allurements but rather to get His divine grace. Just a tiny portion of His
grace is enough to free the mind of any suffering. Then one will just be in
a state of peace– bliss. That is Baba’s above teaching.

== MAHAPRAYAN* (Death) OF SHRII ANURUDDHA PRASAD SINGH ==

Namaskar,
Sadly we have lost a dear soul. The mahaprayan of respected brother
Shrii Aniruddha Prasad Singh occurred during the night of 10-11
September 2009. It is with sadness and sweet memories that we
announce this mahaprayan.

Shrii Aniruddha Prasad Singh was part of a great margii family as his
father was also a bhakta. Baba Himself graced their house in Trimohan
(Bhagalpur) by conducting DMC there.

In addition, Baba inaugurated the Renaissance Universal movement in
their house on 26 January 1958 by delivering the famed lecture that was
printed in book form as “Problems of the Day”.

Shrii Aniruddha Prasad Singh was a very senior and longtime sadhaka who
used to regularly meet with Baba at the tiger’s grace in Jamalpur in the
early days of AM.

At the time of his mahaprayan, Shrii Aniruddha Prasad Singh was in his
twilight years, having been an octogenarian (approximately 80yrs of
age). Shrii Aniruddha Prasad Singh was known for telling some very
colourful Baba stories and experiences.

On the occasions of his mahaprayan (death), let us remember our dear
brother who always wanted to serve the Marga and whose own house was
like an Ananda Marga instituation itself.

It is with much sadness & sweet memories that we bid adieu to our dear
respected bother. At least now his long struggle with illness is over.
We can all take solace in the fact that he has reached his final
destination unto Baba’s lap. Baba has taken it upon Himself to save
Dadaji and grant him salvation.

With deepest respects,
Yours brotherly,
Manindra

Baba

“Bha’loaba’si a’mi toma’y, tumi bha’loba’sa na’…” (P.S. 4592)

Purport:

Baba I love You, but You do not love me. Baba You are not coming clearly
in my dhya’na– that means You are not loving me. If You would have
loved me then You would not remain distant.

O’ my close One who is keeping Himself far away. From Your distant place
please accept me surrender. And from Your far distant abode, please send me
this blessing: That my sadhana will be successful. Please grace me such
that You Yourself will be coming in my dhya’na.

Baba, I do not desire any boons from You. All that I desire is to
continue doing Your dhya’na. Baba, please bestow this blessing upon me.
Baba, You are mine. Please grace me by filling my entire consciousness
with this eternal truth– that You are mine.

Baba, You are not coming in my dhya’na– what more can I say. I have so
much longing for You to come, yet You are not coming. Baba, how come You do
not love me. Baba, please grace me by coming…

== ROLE OF COWARDLY PEOPLE IN AM ==

Namaskar,
How did phallic worship became equated with the tantra of Lord Shiva?
Why did the worship of Sri Krsna become reduced to a mere set of rituals
instead of an internal sadhana towards godhood?

How is it that these two Taraka Brahmas lived on this earth for decades
and decades and graciously gave a huge body of dharmic teachings, only
for those guidelines to be distorted into something of little or no
value – even harmful?

What is the operative factor in this demise and what do we need to be
wary of with respect to keeping our Beloved Baba’s teachings & practices
in their original form.

That is what we seek to investigate here.

ALL HAVE A ROLE TO PLAY

Everyone comes onto this earth with a role to play. Some just live an
ordinary life of eating and drinking; some do heroic deeds and sacrifice
for the welfare of others; and, some people become cowards and fearfully
accept various dogmas, even when they know those things are wrong.

This letter focuses on this latter category: Cowardly people who
knowingly submit themselves to dogma in order to escape criticism,
punishment, and the like.

Because, over the ages, it is such persons who have allowed or enabled
the teachings of Taraka Brahma to gradually become more and more diluted
until finally they are reduced to a crude set of illogical and useless
rituals.

Such a tragedy has happened in the past and if we are not careful it
will happen in this present era also.

IMPORTANCE OF HISTORY

In our search, the review of history is important. Taking a look back
into the past teaches us how to avoid pitfalls in the future.

For instance, if we fail to study the history surrounding the partition
of India and all its tragedies, then in the future we may think that
dividing a country is a fine and noble enterprise.

So a glance back – now and again – at history is most helpful.

Thus, understanding what transpired with Lord Shiva’s and Lord Krsna’s
teachings provides insight into how to properly manage Baba’s divine
ideological guidelines.

HOW LORD SHIVA’S TEACHINGS & LORD KRSNA’S TEACHINGS

BECAME DISMANTLED

It did not happen all at once.

Both Lord Shiva and Lord Krsna took advent on this earth and taught the
people of the day so many practical and philosophic tenets of dharma
sadhana, morality, and spiritual realisation. The lives of these two
Taraka Brahma’s were densely filled with righteous actions and
guidelines for others to see and follow.

Yet step by step, those teachings were eaten away – very slowly, from
one generation to the next.

SLOW GRADUAL PROCESS – ONE GENERATION TO THE NEXT

First a priest – in order to heighten the prestige of his own temple or
out of his own greed – told that worshiping Lord Shiva at his temple /
tiirtha will bring salvation. And so many other nonsense things they
told for their own selfish gain.

Those early followers who were aware of Lord Shiva’s teachings knew that
such priestly edicts were false. But in their cowardly way they did not
protest – due to fear of punishment and retribution by those priests. So
the people kept mum, obediently followed those priests, and internally
thought that Lord Shiva will save the situation. Huddled in their
fearful ways, such cowardly people acquiesced to the dogmatic preachings
of those priests.

Time passed. Their children saw this as did their grandchildren.

In turn those younger generations got it fixed in their mind that their
grandfather was faithfully following the original and authentic
guidelines of Lord Shiva by visiting that particular temple or tiirtha
or by paying certain taxes to priests in order to marry a daughter or
receive the graces of God.

Hence, the indoctrination of a new generation into dogma. What started
out as one generation of people knowingly and fearfully compromising
with dogma, gradually rolled into a complete misunderstanding by the
younger generations.

Those newer generations took that dogma to be the golden road – the path
of truth and excellence. Because that is all they knew, thanks to the
fearful and timid dealings of those before them. They saw their
grandfather and thought that must be correct, when in fact that
grandfather was keeping silent and obeying priests in order not to be
beaten, abused, victimised, harassed, or tortured.

This is the way dharmic teachings get dismantled. It happened with Lord
Shiva’s teachings as well as with Lord Krsna’s teachings. In both
circumstances, cowardly people are at fault for failing to stand up and
oppose those mischievous priests.

Indeed the distortion of Lord Shiva’s and Lord Krsna’s teachings
happened to such an extreme degree that when Baba graciously delivered
His two treatises – Namah Shivaya Shantaya and Namami Krsna Sundaram –
then those sets of dharmic discourses did not at all match what was
going on today. The dogma the present day followers of Lord Shiva and
Lord Krsna were doing did not at all resemble the glorious teachings
Baba had given in those books. The true teachings of Lord Shiva and Lord
Krsna were utterly non-existent in the contemporary society. Such was
the extreme degree to which dogma had taken root.

And again, what was the cause: The step by step compromise made by
cowardly people who were to fearful and scared to oppose the ruling
priests.

MUST BE BOLD AND BRAVE TODAY

Today in Ananda Marga, a similar show is unfolding – but we can still
stop it before it is too late.

The priests have invented so many dogmas for their own selfish gain,
power, and prestige. Here is but a small sampling of those dogmas:

[1] Mahaprayan (i.e. Baba is gone), [2] Fake Ananda Vaniis, [3]
Distortion to AM Scriptures, [4] Fake Bhukti Pradhan Manual (1997), [5]
Crude Tiirthas & Memorials in AN & Jamalpur etc, [6] Expulsion as a
Weapon, [7] Ruination of Prabhat Samgiita with Filmy Singers, [8]
Destruction of ACB, [9] Bangalisation, [10] PP Dada Not Doing Kiirtan
etc, [11] Unity through Groupism, [12] Translated from the Original
Bengali, [13] And Many, Many More.

And we all know how & why those things were established.

If anyone fails to attend Mahaprayan then they will lose their post; if
anyone opposes the Fake BP election process they will be outcasted; if
anyone points out scripture distortions, then they will be victimised etc.

So these are the types of threats that were made by the ruling priest
class or groupist leaders of the day. By this way they impose their will
and intimidate others.

In response, a section of fearful followers acquiesce. They watch the
original BP manual go up in flames, they watch the AM Revolution
discourses be snipped and cut; they watch one punishment posting ordered
after another. They see so many things going on and they keep quiet –
not wanting to invite any problem unto themselves, not wanting to invite
the wrath of those priests.

Their mantra becomes: “Keep quiet – do not say anything – just accept it
all.”

In the back of their mind they think that “Baba will save the
situation”, when in fact it is their duty to come forward and fight for
what is right.

Such cowardly people become “yes man” or “goody-goodies” to those in
power. They think that this is the only way to survive, when in truth
they are ruining their entire tantric career by turning themselves into
agents of dogma. Because what they accept out of fear, the next
generations will blindly accept as truth, and Baba’s true teachings will
be lost.

Because the younger people will think, “Our elders were around Baba so
what they were doing must be correct.”

In that case, dogmatic functions like Mahaprayan and the reading of Fake
Ananda Vaniis will become totally normal and the real ideological
foundations of Ananda Marga will systematically vanish into thin air.
There will not be a trace of AM left on this earth.

This is not some false dream or fictional horror story. This is the
reality of what will most certainly happen if a strong stand is not
immediately taken against the present dogmas that priests have dragged
into AM.

Baba’s advent will be for naught as His teachings will be gone.

DON’T BE A GOODY-GOODY: OPPOSE ALL SAID DOGMAS IN AM

So we must not be cowardly or fearful of threats and rantings by those
in power, rather we are to stand up and maintain His original teachings.
Therein lies the establishment of dharma in AMPS and our debt to Guru.

Baba says, “We cannot call people “good” if they cannot lead people of
all walks of life towards welfare. We can call them “goody-goodies” but
not good people. Those who are truly good people will move bravely
forward and provide inspiration and strength to those mute masses to
fight against all kinds of obstacles, and give a clarion call to them to
march ahead.” (AV-22)

Baba says, “Intelligent people should no longer remain silent…They
must not act like goody-goodies, seeing evil but continuing to tolerate
it. This is very bad.” (NH-LOI, Disc: 2)

Baba says, “The characteristic of good people is to fight against
injustice, to firmly adhere to truth and righteousness, to protect the
helpless and fight against all evil persons. Those who are merely simple
and are of a meek and goody-goody nature are not good people.” (AFPS-5)

BABA’S BLESSING

By Baba’s grace, whenever and wherever we see any dogma cropping up or
in vogue – whether it be sannyasi superiority or scriptural distortions
– we should wage a merciless war, upholding Baba’s teachings. Failure to
do so is only inviting the multiplication of dogma and the ruination of
our Marga. No one should fall into such a cowardly way of life.

Baba says, “I have already said that Ananda Marga is the first movement
aimed at liberating spirituality from the unwholesome influences from
dogma. Hence you must not in any way encourage dogma. Rather, you should
carry on an endless fight against dogma. And while fighting against
dogma, you will realize the actual truth, and when you will come in
contact with truth, you will be established in real spirituality…human
beings have got to be established in human excellence and carry on a
ceaseless struggle against dogma.” (PNS-18)

Where Invented

In the following quote Baba reveals the history of the “ball” which is
nowadays commonly used in innumerable games and sports. The ball is originally
invented in India.

The following Baba’s teaching reveals this fact.

Baba says, “The meaning of the root verb kand is ‘to wallow’. We get the
word kanduka (ball) by adding ‘uk’ to ‘kand’ or adding ‘u’ + ‘ka’ to
kand. Its etymological meaning is ‘that which rolls’; colloquially it refers to
‘ball’– a ball rolls. It should be remembered that the kanduka
(ball) originated in this country. Originally, balls used to be made from cloth, but since
cloth balls did not last very long people in ancient Bengal started making
balls from the shoots of young bamboo.” (SC-3, p.70-71)
