ABOUT MUKUNDA’NANDA’S SEXUAL ATTACK ON

THE YOUNG GIRL IN DALTONGANJ

“Recently one Dada sexually attacked a young girl from Daltonganj.
The assailant is a sectorial-level VSS worker of Delhi sector.
This attack was carried out in a most violent and gruesome manner.”


1. This unfortunate incident took place in a village about 30 kilometers from Daltonganj town. It is in Daltonganj District. The diocese is Palamu, with the headquarters being Daltonganj.

2. The assailant was Mukunda’nanda, a senior dada 50+ years of age. He is hardcore cadre of Rudra’nanda.

3. Mukunda’nanda sexually assaulted and forced himself on the 7-year-old daughter of one respected margii.

4. This dada was staying in the house of one margii when he called the child to him and started teaching her. Everything seemed fine. Dada then sent the girl’s mother to cook food for him. This gave Dada the opportunity to violently assault the girl sexually.

5. In the aftermath, the girl was admitted to the hospital with profuse bleeding. Medical experts confirmed the gory details and the horrors that this innocent 7-year old girl suffered.

6. The Dada who did this is Ac Mukunda’nanda, sectorial organising secretary (VSS) of Delhi sector.

I cannot forget how in 1970, one of the monks in the Ramakrishna Mission committed this type of devious sexual crime in rural Jaipur. The outraged villagers took matters into their own hands.

Villagers caught the monk and removed his saffron robe and put him in civil dress. Then they painted his face black, forced him to sit on a donkey, and paraded him through the town with a placard hanging from his neck which read, “I am a child molester.”

But it did not stop there.

More and more villagers joined in and they physically detained that monk and forcibly removed his reproductive organ in such a manner that the monk had to be hospitalized. News of this spread around the whole of India. The monk was shamed by his criminal dealing and will remember his misdeed his entire life.

The sexual crime by Mukunda’nanda must also be taken seriously and addressed accordingly. Thus far the villagers of Daltonganj in 2012 have not dealt with the aggressor the way those villagers of Jaipur did in 1970. How and what the villagers do is for them to decide. But allowing the crime to go unpunished is not acceptable. The culprit must be taken to task.

Thus when Mukunda’nanda has done the unspeakable and sexually assaulted a minor, it is unacceptable for his supervisors to keep mum or try to sweep this under the rug. Merely sending Mukunda’nanda for retraining is also inappropriate given the gruesome and sinful nature of his crime.

WAS THIS THE FIRST TIME?

The sexual crime against this 7-year-old margii girl took place in Daltonganj District and in Chainpur block. We have come to know the name of the exact village but for the protection of the family and respect of their privacy, I refrain from including the village name here. Thank you for your understanding.

At this point the great fear is that this dada engaged in prior attacks that went unreported. That is a distinct concern as sexual criminals are most often repeat offenders.

Social scientists and psychologists have concluded that: “Compared to non-sex offenders released from State prisons, released sex offenders were 4 times more likely to be rearrested for a sex crime.”

We cannot definitively say that Mukunda’nanda committed more sexual crimes in the past, but evidence uncovered in this recent Daltonganj attack leads in that direction. We are dealing with a highly confident and seasoned assailant. Based on the ghastly details of this crime, it does not appear to be the work of a first-time perpetrator.

MORE REASONS WHY THIS HAPPENED

Another key reason behind this nefarious encounter is Dadaji’s ongoing lack of discipline. He is highly remiss in adhering to the daily code of conduct for acaryas and avadhutas.

For instance, this Dada keeps his hair and beard very short, which goes against points #1 & 2 of “32 Rules for Avadhu’tas.” Furthermore Mukunda’nanda Dada is not strict in sentient food, nor does he follow the fasting schedule properly. Verily there are so many ways how in his day to day life he is negligent in following Baba’s assigned codes of conduct.

To put it in a more graphic way, this Dada has been leading a dual life. In the daytime, he moves among margiis in saffron robes to be venerated as an acarya and avadhuta; and then in the nighttime, and sometimes during the day also, he roves the streets in civil dress. On more than one occasion this Dada has been seen entering raucous nightclubs and late-night hot-spots, among other places he frequents.

Here it should be understood that this dada is not alone in his poor, un-acarya-like conduct. Many dadas with short hair and well-trimmed beards, especially those in India, lead a dual existence where negative habits and tamasik indulgence are common. Dadas posted in India have no reason not to keep proper longer-length hair, a minimum of 13+ inches. And the beard should be at least 3 1/2 inches in length. That is the mandate.

So dadas must have longer hair and didis must have shorter hair. More about this has been written in note 1.

The overall point is that if any acarya’s presentation does not reflect that of a yogic monk, then they are often involved in dirty and degraded dealings. Such was certainly the case with Mukunda’nanda. All this and more contributed to his demise.

Baba says, “Bear in mind that people may be harmed or misled by even a small weakness or defect in the conduct of an ácárya. Just as it is the duty of a father to educate his children properly by his good conduct, an ácárya or ácáryá should always instruct by his or her exemplary actions and words.” (Ananda Vacanamrtam – 31, The Conduct of an Ácárya)

By failing to follow our Ananda Marga conduct rules for wholetimers, this dada fell deep into the depths of self-destruction.

TERRIBLE IRONY

One of the disturbing ironies of this case / crime is that Mukunda’nanda himself is posted in VSS. His duty was to protect the common people from such attacks. He was to protect the defenseless; yet he himself became the perpetrator. This makes his case particularly vile.

WHY HE REMAINS

All this begs the question, “Why does Rudrananda keep him in the fold and in the cadre?”

The answer is quite straightforward. Criminals and characterless people are very easy to command. Such persons will obey all orders from their superiors because they know that their leaders will save them from all kinds of embarrassment, shame, and difficulties. Leaders like Rudrananda will ensure poorly behaved dadas do not get a bad name and refrain from reporting them to the police. That is the unspoken trade between fallen acaryas like Mukunda’nanda and leaders like Rudrananda.

Actually these days in Ananda Marga, the top leaders want their staff to commit crimes, because then they have “dirt” on that worker and can get them to do anything. In exchange for saving them from disgrace, those fallen workers become extremely obedient to their boss(es).

That is the sole reason why Rudrananda keeps him in Wt dress.

Were formal charges laid with the police? If not, why not? This
person has to tried in a court of law. A person is innocent until
proved otherwise in a court of law.

All efforts must be made to bring the perpetrator to face the law of the land.
If this does not happen a great injustice -both to the the dada and to
the little girl- will be done.

Mukundananda should not be pardoned in any way. He has done a heinous crime that too in the ever respectful form of a Sannyasi. By this act every one would suspect to sannyasis even if they may be real devotee to the ideal.

Everyone in AM knows that Rev.Baba has reiterated in his discourses ” Human society would know me by your conduct” means every follower of the AM philosophy should be a man of character for the sake of their GURUDEV. Moreover the acharyas and avadhutas are meant to show their character as an ideal one which may be followed by others, but this dada has painted black stains on respectable uniform of all the sanyasis by his character. There is no guarantee that his reactive momenta would cease to function after undergoing training again and changing the name.

I would request the concerned authorities of the organisation to publish this dada’s photo in web so that others may be alert in future. My humble request to Mukundanada is that he should come back in ordinary society and try to become a true Anandamargi as he has no courage to lead the restraint and difficult life of a sannyasi. Why is he the worst sinner?

While posing as a sannyasi in saffron garb, Ravana abducted Ram’s wife, Sita. Ravana did not harm Sita sexually; his crime was abduction. He kept Sita under the care and custody of his female guards in a special cell of his palace. After this incident, females became fearful of monks. They started thinking that any monk must be Ravana in sannyasi dress. That is why he is classified as a mahapataki, or terrible sinner….

RELATING THIS WITH THE CURRENT INCIDENT

In the case of Mukunda’nanda, he committed his crime in saffron garb, while working as an avadhuta of Ananda Marga. By this ways, he has sown the seeds of suspicion and fear in the mind of every margii. They will think that any avadhuta could do a similar sort of crime. The sweet and respectful relation between wt’s and family margiis has been tainted forever. Thus, Mukunda’nanda’s sin is of recurring nature.

By seeing someone in saffron dress, margii girls and sisters of all ages will immediately become terrified. Even sincere and dedicated avadhutas will automatically be looked upon as cheaters and criminals. Girls will think that these male avadhutas are going to attack them. The sin Mukundananda has committed has long-lasting, recurring, negative effects. But, tragically, that is not all. Mukunda’nanda is worse than a mahapataki – he is worse than Ravana.

Why worse?

Ravana kidnapped Sita while in saffron dress, but he did not do more than that. Whereas Mukunda’nanda crossed the line and went beyond. That is why he is worse than Ravana. Because of this crime, by seeing the saffron dress, margii girls and sisters will always be nervous, distrustful, suspicious, and fearful of the character of our male wts.

Lord Shiva replied, “He is a mahapataki (terrible sinner), I cannot save him.”

Parvati insisted, “No, Ravana is a pataki (regular sinner) because he did not harm Sita sexually; he just kidnapped her so he is just a pataki. Ravana is an ordinary sinner, not a mahapataki (worst sinner).”

Lord Shiva replied, “If Ravana had committed his act in civil dress then he would have been a pataki. But because he did the abduction of Sita wearing a saffron robe he is a mahapataki (worst or terrible sinner). This will create a very horrific effect of recurring nature. From today forward, when any female sees someone wearing the saffron robe, they will be startled and horrified. They will think, “This person is going to attack me; he is not a monk, he is kidnapper.” Again and again they will be reminded of Ravana’s act of abduction whenever they see someone wearing saffron dress. Ravana has done irreparable harm that is of a recurring nature. That is why he is a mahapataki.”

Ultimately, Ravana was not saved and he died.

But due to mounting pressure from margiis all over the globe, Rudrananda’s hand was forced. Against his desire, Rudrananda had to give Mukunda’nanda the order to go for re-training at Benares / Varanasi Wholetimer TC. Otherwise there would have been an uproar for letting this Dada roam free. So that is where Dada is now – in Varanasi TC. But, it has already been decided by Rudrananda and Co that Mukunda’nanda will not have to stay there long. Rudrananda has the plan to rescue him quickly.

Actually it is looking like Mukunda’nanda will only be there in TC for a few more days, and then come out clean: New name, new dress, and a new overseas posting as an acarya. That is what we see happening. As we speak, Mukunda’nanda is doing SPT training which is the final segment of his stay in TC. He is almost done and will soon be out on the prowl again. Everyone should be careful. Keep sharp eyes all around – especially those in overseas sectors.

The only way to reverse this course of action is for there to be maximum pressure applied by margiis. If margiis around the globe continue to call, write and give pressure to (a) Mantracetananand ji, SG (Secretary General) of VSS, (b) Rudranand ji, and (c) Ragamayanand ji (WT trainer Varanasi), etc. Then they will be forced to follow Baba’s rule and not alter justice.

Whatever may be, the main thing is: Do not lose sight of this case. Otherwise, Mukunda’nanda may be in your unit soon with a new name and a new dress. So watch out!

Note 2: HERE IS THE STORY OF RAVANA

Here below is Baba’s account of the conversation between Lord Shiva and Parvati wherein Lord Shiva declares Ravana to be a mahapataki and hence refuses to save him. As we all now know, Mukunda’nanda Dada is even worse than that – he is worse than a mahapataki.

Baba says, “You all know the story of the Rámáyańa. When Ravana was about to be defeated in the war with Rama, he prayed to Shiva, his Lord and the source of his might, to save his life. But as he had abducted another man’s wife, Shiva was immensely displeased and unwilling to help…”

“Parvati requested her husband, “Shiva, Ravana is your devotee so please save him.” But how could Shiva save him? Ravana was a mahapátaki. Parvati suggested that Ravana was only an atipátaki. “No,” said Shiva, “If Ravana had abducted Sita as a thief, he could be called an atipátaki, but he abducted her in the guise of a sadhu. This will have a recurring effect as in the future no married woman will ever trust a sadhu again. They will think that a sadhu may be another Ravana in disguise. Even scoundrels may commit crimes dressed as sadhus.” As in fact they actually do today. “Such a crime as this which has a recurring bad effect is undoubtedly mahapátaka.” So Shiva refused to save Ravana’s life.” (Ananda Vacanamrtam – 8, Do Virtuous Deeds Day and Night – 1)

My family and I have been following the news of this awful sexual crime perpetrated by this dada.

“The assailant was Mukunda’nanda, a senior dada 50+ years of age. He is hardcore cadre of Rudra’nanda…Mukunda’nanda sexually assault…In the aftermath, the girl was admitted to the hospital”

We made additional investigations and have posted that info below. We feel this is a case that we all should be concerned about as it potentially represents a more systemic problem.

Here is more about what we found out.

MORE ABOUT MUKUNDA’NANDA

Dada Mukunda’nanda has a sectorial level posting in VSS so he goes all around Delhi sector. Thus he has the freedom to roam everywhere. His exact posting is sectorial organizing secretary (VSS).

NAMES OF HIS SUPERVISORS

We found out that his immediate supervisor is Ac. Parma’nanda Avt, Chief Secretary (VSS) of Delhi sector. The next higher up is Ac Mantracetana’nanda Avt, SG (Secretary General). We should watch how they handle the situation, and not tolerate any delay or covering up. Per Baba’s system, these supervisory workers are to be held accountable.

Baba says, “Supervisory workers will have to take care of each of their supervised staff in all respects.” (WT Code of
Conduct, “Six Addition Rules”, pt #2)

Thus when Mukunda’nanda has done the unspeakable and sexually assaulted a minor, it is unacceptable for his supervisors to keep mum or try to sweep this under the rug. Merely sending Mukunda’nanda for retraining is also inappropriate given the gruesome and sinful nature of his crime.

WAS THIS THE FIRST TIME?

The sexual crime against this 7-year-old margii girl took place in Daltonganj District and in Chainpur block. We have come to know the name of the exact village but for the protection of the family and respect of their privacy, I refrain from including the village name here. Thank you for your understanding.

At this point the great fear is that this dada engaged in prior attacks that went unreported. That is a distinct concern as sexual criminals are most often repeat offenders.

Social scientists and psychologists have concluded that: “Compared to non-sex offenders released from State prisons, released sex offenders were 4 times more likely to be rearrested for a sex crime.”

We cannot definitively say that Mukunda’nanda committed more sexual crimes in the past, but evidence uncovered in this recent Daltonganj attack leads in that direction. We are dealing with a highly confident and seasoned assailant. Based on the ghastly details of this crime, it does not appear to be the work of a first-time perpetrator.

MORE REASONS WHY THIS HAPPENED

Another key reason behind this nefarious encounter is Dadaji’s ongoing lack of discipline. He is highly remiss in adhering to the daily code of conduct for acaryas and avadhutas.

For instance, this Dada keeps his hair and beard very short, which goes against points #1 & 2 of “32 Rules for Avadhu’tas.” Furthermore Mukunda’nanda Dada is not strict in sentient food, nor does he follow the fasting schedule properly. Verily there are so many ways how in his day to day life he is negligent in following Baba’s assigned codes of conduct.

To put it in a more graphic way, this Dada has been leading a dual life. In the daytime, he moves among margiis in saffron robes to be venerated as an acarya and avadhuta; and then in the nighttime, and sometimes during the day also, he roves the streets in civil dress. On more than one occasion this Dada has been seen entering raucous nightclubs and late-night hot-spots, among other places he frequents.

Here it should be understood that this dada is not alone in his poor, un-acarya-like conduct. Many dadas with short hair and well-trimmed beards, especially those in India, lead a dual existence where negative habits and tamasik indulgence are common. Dadas posted in India have no reason not to keep proper longer-length hair, a minimum of 13+ inches. And the beard should be at least 3 1/2 inches in length. That is the mandate.

So dadas must have longer hair and didis must have shorter hair. More about this has been written in note 1.

The overall point is that if any acarya’s presentation does not reflect that of a yogic monk, then they are often involved in dirty and degraded dealings. Such was certainly the case with Mukunda’nanda. All this and more contributed to his demise.

Baba says, “Bear in mind that people may be harmed or misled by even a small weakness or defect in the conduct of an ácárya. Just as it is the duty of a father to educate his children properly by his good conduct, an ácárya or ácáryá should always instruct by his or her exemplary actions and words.” (Ananda Vacanamrtam – 31, The Conduct of an Ácárya)

By failing to follow our Ananda Marga conduct rules for wholetimers, this dada fell deep into the depths of self-destruction.

TERRIBLE IRONY

One of the disturbing ironies of this case / crime is that Mukunda’nanda himself is posted in VSS. His duty was to protect the common people from such attacks. He was to protect the defenseless; yet he himself became the perpetrator. This makes his case particularly vile.

WHY HE REMAINS

All this begs the question, “Why does Rudrananda keep him in the fold and in the cadre?”

The answer is quite straightforward. Criminals and characterless people are very easy to command. Such persons will obey all orders from their superiors because they know that their leaders will save them from all kinds of embarrassment, shame, and difficulties. Leaders like Rudrananda will ensure poorly behaved dadas do not get a bad name and refrain from reporting them to the police. That is the unspoken trade between fallen acaryas like Mukunda’nanda and leaders like Rudrananda.

Actually these days in Ananda Marga, the top leaders want their staff to commit crimes, because then they have “dirt” on that worker and can get them to do anything. In exchange for saving them from disgrace, those fallen workers become extremely obedient to their boss(es).

That is the sole reason why Rudrananda keeps him in Wt dress.

WHAT WE SHOULD DO

As members of the Marga, we should take it upon ourselves to ensure justice is done on various levels:


a) The entire cost of the treatment for the victim and the victim’s family should be shared by the bhukti or the region; and if they cannot manage then other margins should help. The victim’s family should not bear the financial burden. In addition, margiis must offer support on the physical, emotional and psychic levels. The bhukti pradhan, or another responsible post holder, should go to the victim family’s village and beg apology and express concern for their for psychic healing.


b) Honoring their privacy and safety, the young girl and her family should be counseled and supported fully.


c) We should approach the concerned authorities and law enforcement agencies like the police to ensure more crimes of this nature do not recur. This is as severe as a murder case. If a murder is committed, top dadas cannot say, “Just keep quiet and send him to training center for a month.” Some wrongly want to keep things hidden in order to save a dada’s prestige. But that is what Catholic priest did and see what happened. The situation demands full exposure to the police. Otherwise this such attack will never be addressed and it will grow and be like that of the catholic priests. When it is reported to the police then sinners will be deterred.


d) Let me reiterate, merely sending this dada for re-training is not enough.

Note 1: WARNING! DO NOT GIVE THEM DONATIONS

Those dadas posted in India who maintain a short beard and short hair are most probably involved in devious actions. Do not give them donations – rather, watch out. They are criminals dressed as monks. It is our mistake that we are feeding such hypocrites. Then those same hypocritical dads attack us. Our duty is to starve such hypocrites. Do not contribute any funds to those not following conduct rules regarding length of beard, mustache and hair. All male wts must keep long hair (13+ inches) and all female wts must keep short hair (1 centimeter). Those not following these parameters are of questionable character. The only exception is for those posted outside where for certain political reasons they have to adjust. But this does not apply to those posted in India. So watch out.

I cannot forget how in 1970, one of the monks in the Ramakrishna Mission committed this type of devious sexual crime in rural Jaipur. The outraged villagers took matters into their own hands.

Villagers caught the monk and removed his saffron robe and put him in civil dress. Then they painted his face black, forced him to sit on a donkey, and paraded him through the town with a placard hanging from his neck which read, “I am a child molester.”

But it did not stop there.

More and more villagers joined in and they physically detained that monk and forcibly removed his reproductive organ in such a manner that the monk had to be hospitalized. News of this spread around the whole of India. The monk was shamed by his criminal dealing and will remember his misdeed his entire life.

The sexual crime by Mukunda’nanda must also be taken seriously and addressed accordingly. Thus far the villagers of Daltonganj in 2012 have not dealt with the aggressor the way those villagers of Jaipur did in 1970. How and what the villagers do is for them to decide. But allowing the crime to go unpunished is not acceptable. The culprit must be taken to task.

I inquired and confirmed this news with my own sources. It is true; I talked with Daltonganj margiis. They attested to the veracity of this tragic incident.

Unfortunately, one margii was more concerned with hiding the bad name of this culprit, Dada Mukunda’nanda, rather than help the victim and reporting this to the police.

In total, this is indeed nothing short of a tragedy. With a heavy heart – yet knowing it is the right thing to do, otherwise repeated issues will arise in future – I list more of the facts below about this case

1. This unfortunate incident took place in a village about 30 kilometers from Daltonganj town. It is in Daltonganj District. The diocese is Palamu, with the headquarters being Daltonganj.

2. The assailant was Mukunda’nanda, a senior dada 50+ years of age. He is hardcore cadre of Rudra’nanda.

3. Mukunda’nanda sexually assaulted and forced himself on the 7-year-old daughter of one respected margii.

4. This dada was staying in the house of one margii when he called the child to him and started teaching her. Everything seemed fine. Dada then sent the girl’s mother to cook food for him. This gave Dada the opportunity to violently assault the girl sexually.

5. In the aftermath, the girl was admitted to the hospital with profuse bleeding. Medical experts confirmed the gory details and the horrors that this innocent 7-year old girl suffered.

6. The Dada who did this is Ac Mukunda’nanda, sectorial organising secretary (VSS) of Delhi sector.

To prepare oneself for this entire topic, please consider the following.

Suppose there is one guru who knows that some of his disciples suffer from certain flaws. That guru calls those disciples near and says, “From tomorrow onwards, you will be given greater responsibility to run the ashram and its activities; promise me that you will not sell the ashram and destroy all the programs. Can I trust you that you will not ruin the ashram?”
By making this type of statement and posing this sort of query, it is very evident that the guru does not trust his disciples. Such a statement does not at all convey a sense faith in his disciples.

Keep the above idea in mind as you read the remainder of this mail.

THE CURRENT SCENE

The present scenario unfolding now in our organisation did not come out of nowhere. There was every indication that such a splintering could and would take place. Baba certainly knew; and if we all think a little bit, it should not have come as a surprise to us either. Please understand that I have full regard and respect for our dear Dadas, only I wish to bring something to the table for everyone to consider and review.

BABA WAS CALLING THEM TO TAKE OATHS

In 1990, as you may remember, Baba was calling Dadas– groups of Dadas, especially Central Workers and other top Dadas– to Him so that they could take an oath in His presence. There was no secret this was going on, as many have heard about this program.

Those days, Beloved Baba was calling several workers or more at a time and asking them, ‘Do you promise to work for the welfare of the mission? Can I trust you to spread my ideology? Are you committed to serving all peoples? Will you keep this organisation unified? Are you to be trusted?’.

To each of these types of questions, all the Dadas present– ie the top Dadas which Baba had called before Him– were required to take an oath to that they would solemnly swear to fulfill their duty to Baba and the Ananda Marga mission. This was the scene which was unfolding in 1990. And those respected Dadas were quite proud to have been called before Baba to take such an oath. They took this to be an honor and and indication of their high commitment to Baba.

WHAT IS THE INNER MEANING BEHIND SUCH AN OATH

With all due respect, however, we should apply a little bit of our own cognitive abilities– by way of analogy– to understand the real meaning of having to take such an oath in the first place.

Suppose there is one guru who knows that some of his disciples suffer from certain flaws. That calls those disciples near and says, “From tomorrow onwards, you will be given greater responsibility to run the ashram and its activities, promise me that you will not sell the ashram and destroy all the programs. Can I trust you that you will not ruin the ashram?” By making this type of statement and posing this sort of query, it is very evident that the guru does not trust his disciples. Such a statement does at all convey a sense faith in his disciples.

With respect to our dear Dadas, I think all readers are by now getting the idea why Baba requested such top WTs to take an oath before Him. Before discussing this further, let’s take a look at another analogy.

Suppose, one day when a father is about to retire from his business and he is going to pass the torch of ownership of all his entrepreneurial interests and land holdings to his son, and the father says, ‘Son, I have worked hard all my life, please promise me that you will honestly watch over my affairs and take care of the family’, then does this not indicate that the father does not have full faith in his son. Otherwise, what was the need for the father to ask such a thing of his son. Such a statement or oath only comes into play, when a father feels that the son cannot be entirely trusted– or not trusted at all.

Or it is just like if there are two friends, and if one says to the other, ‘Listen, I have to go out for a few minutes, please promise me that you will not steal my belongings while I am gone’, then who is going to really think they have any friendship at all, or that the other person can be trusted. And certainly we can all think of so many other such examples– all of which point to a blatant lack of trust for the other party. In essence one is saying, ‘You are not trustworthy’.

Yet this is the very same type of oath which our All-knowing Baba requested from those top Dadas.

Please excuse me for saying so, but this oath was done because Baba was well aware about their inherent tendencies of groupism, division, and power mongering etc. With such ideas floating in their mental plates, how is it that those top Dadas were going to be able to care for the AM mission. Hence, Baba requested them to take an oath– to help steer them away from their negative desires. Yet we all know what happened, we all know how far those our revered Dadas could live up to the oath or not.

OTHERS WERE HAPPY THAT BABA DID NOT ASK THEM

From another perspective, various other acaryas and senior margiis who were NOT asked to take such an oath in front of Baba were relieved, because they felt that having to take such an oath meant that such persons were not up to the proper standard. And indeed it looks like that is the case. There are so many decent acaryas and margiis who are truly committed to the ideals of AM, and Baba knowingly never asked them to take that oath in front of Him. Whereas those who were requested to take an oath back in 1990 are the very ones who have pillaged our AMPS and cracked it into pieces for their selfish ends.

TOP DADAS SAW IT IN THEIR OWN WAY

But as life would have it, those top Dadas who took the oath– ‘I can be trusted to watch over the mission’– had their own perspective of the matter. With all due respect, those esteemed acaryas felt that it meant that they were the ones who were true to Baba.

Hence, they told everyone they knew that Baba took a special oath from them as they thought this would impress others. Indeed they traveled all over Delhi Sector and the entire globe, describing how Baba had specially called them and asked, ‘Can I trust you’ etc. So through their own eyeglasses, they thought that this was Baba’s way of telling them that they are the great ones to run the organisation. But those with a balanced mind can understand the inner truth: That having to take such an oath means that they had a weakness or mental defect. That Baba was saying, ‘You are not trustworthy’. Otherwise Baba would not have been concerned about them in that way.

And indeed, seeing what these oath-taking Dadas have done to our organisation since 1990, it is quite apparent that the all-knowing Baba did not trust them from the outset. That is why He was again and again asking them, ‘Can I trust you, can I trust you’. Please excuse me for saying so, but that is what rationality says. Many of these Dadas are our friends, but that does not exclude us from taking a proper look at the situation. After all we have come to establish AM ideology and serve the humanity, not any other reason.

Note: In AM oaths are taken when a person gets diiksa of various types. We remember our oaths everyday, but this query – “Can I trust you” – is unusual and displays a lack of trust.

DADAS TOOK IT AS THEIR ENTITLEMENT

BUT IT IS JUST THEIR HYPOCRISY

Regardless, our esteemed top Dadas viewed that oath as their entitlement to running the organisation. And not only that, they thought that they should then take similar oaths from the margiis. And that is the very tradition that they started.

After 1990, thinking of themselves as the great ones, those top Dadas began calling all the margiis to their various dogmatic programs like Mahaprayan, and requested those arrivees to take an oath. Such is the grand hypocrisy that has been going on since 1990. See the irony of it all.

Those top Dadas have ruined Baba scriptures, broken the organisation into pieces, created dogmatic tiirthas, pilfered so much money, expelled so many innocent margiis, destroyed the BP system, and countless harm they have done to our Marga, yet they see themselves as being fit to insist that others be true to Baba’s teachings. As if they are the golden watch-bearers to ensure that everything is proper.

For your review, here is the oath which our revered Dadas have been taking from other general acaryas and margiis since 1990. They do this oath of ‘dedication’ or ‘rededication’ at their dogmatic Mahaprayan ceremonies and at other gatherings. The audio version of the oath has been put on the AM-GLOBAL blog:

“We, say on oath, in the name of Parama Brahma and Marga Gurudeva, that we shall observe uncompromising strictness and faith regarding the sanctity of Ista, Adarsha, Supreme Command and Conduct Rules. We shall actively endeavour to promote, individual and collective well-being, to perform all sorts of actions as desired by Revered Marga Guru. We shall not allow the unity of Ananda Margiis to be jeopardised for any reason. We shall maintain the unity, even at the risk of our life. We shall not, under any circumstances, allow individual interest to stand in the way of collective interest. We shall protect, in all respects and all costs, the dignity of Margiya treasures: The sublime ideology, universal love, and unshakable unity, and the sanctity of our flag, our symbols, and the pratikrti [photo] of Marga Guru.” (Oath taken at dogmatic Mahaprayan programs)

Again there is nothing wrong with the above oath per se. Just it is painfully amusing that the ones administering this oath have utterly destroyed our Marga. They have made a mockery out of unity, they have tossed AM ideology in the dustbin, they have gone against Ista in countless ways, they have stepped on and torn up our flag, and they have time and again put their own selfish and individual interests ahead of the common good– ahead of collective interest.

Thus it is an absolute mockery for them to be administering this oath to well-intentioned margiis and acaryas. And again, the only reason Baba was asking them in 1990, ‘Can I count on you, can I trust you’ was because He was indirectly saying, ‘You are not trustworthy’. That is what He was telling those top Dadas.

Please excuse me as I know how this sounds. However, do not take my word for it, take a look at what has occurred in our organisation since 1990. All because of the lust, deceit, and selfishness of certain people whose names need not be mentioned here. You know who they are.

BABA’S WARNING

Here is Baba’s clear-cut warning that if the people responsible for implementing an ideology are not up to the mark, then there will be hell to pay– the society will suffer.

Baba says, “Even if there is no defect in the philosophy but the person who takes the responsibility of implementing the philosophy is full of defects, then that high philosophy will remain confined to books only. The society will rush headlong to the depths of degradation, and no one will remain to save it. The people’s copious tears will drench their clothes, and they will die, banging their heads against the closed doors of human liberation. For them there will be no escape.” (NSS, Disc 14)

Because our revered top Dadas could not implement AM ideology in their own lives, our organisation has paid the price and indeed the greater society has suffered needlessly at the hands of so many exploiters– because our Marga could not come forward and save them.

BABA’S BLESSING

By Baba’s grace those true to Him have taken the internal vow to establish His ideology on this dusty earth. Such persons will always be strict in following His teachings. Whereas those who merely brag, that Baba asked them, ‘Can I count on you’, we now know their status. By His grace, a new era of ideology is coming in our Marga.

Baba says, “Where the question of benevolence and malevolence is concerned we will not deviate an inch from our ideology, nor will we allow others to do so.” (NSS, Disc: 14)

Note: ONE MORE ANALOGY

If anybody is having difficult and still could not understand the essence of this posting then this analogy may help.

Let’s say a husband and wife were at the airport as the husband was about to go away on a business trip. When saying good-bye, just before he was to board the plane, if the concerned husband says to his wife, ‘Please promise that you will be true to me’, who is going to think that their marriage is based on trust and fidelity.

Rather, one gets the distinct idea that the husband knows well that his wife has loose behaviour, or that she has been untrue in the past, or that she has interest in someone else. It gives the distinct feeling that ‘You (i.e. the wife) are not trustworthy’. And it is for this reason, with this doubt and uncertainty in mind, that he is requesting her to promise to be faithful. All because the wife has a distinct tendency to be unfaithful. Otherwise what was the need for the wife to take such an oath when there is a deep & trusting commitment between the two parties, between the husband and wife.

In other words if trust each other and if husband says like that there will be huge disappointment. She will cry out and be angry why he is accusing me, rather than be happy.

And in the shyness of their newly found joy, all these people have accepted You as their Goal. They have accepted You as their everything and surrendered at Your alter. The entire creation has gotten blessed by Your divine effulgence. In a very happy and exalted state, everyone has begun moving ahead, joyfully. Baba, with Your divine love and compassion You have come on this dusty earth to bless everyone. You are grace personified…

== BABA STORY: “I WILL BECOME GOOD” ==

Those days in 1989, Baba was working and directing our Marga at a spectacular pace – anyone around clearly remembers this. Baba was implementing one program after another and side by side watching out for the development and welfare of each and every disciple.

During one particular reporting session Baba lovingly, yet sternly, looked at one worker and began strongly rebuking and punishing that Wt for his serious wrongdoing. It was later found out that that Dada had indulged in various sexual crimes.
So on that day Baba was purifying that Wt of his sin. Of course inwardly, Baba was exuding His great charm and love – all could feel that – yet outwardly Baba was beating that worker ferociously.

Then directly after giving punishment, Baba looked over at GS Dada and said, “Now he (i.e. the Wt who was punished) is an ideal human being.” Then GS Dada turned directly towards that Wt and said, “Now you are an ideal human being.”

Then that worker replied, “I will become good.”

And GS Dada then repeated the same back to Baba.

In His divine liila, immediately Baba became furious and said, “What!! WILL become good?!? What nonsense!! Not WILL become good…He HAS become good!’. Then GS Dada turned towards that worker and repeated, “You HAVE become good.” And the Dada hurriedly said, “I HAVE become good.” Only then Baba was satisfied.

Shortly thereafter, reporting was over and everyone went about their various duties etc. But during that time, that Dada was again thinking about his old lustful ways. He reverted back to his past habits.

How do we know this? Because later on that day, another reporting was held and at one point during that second session, Baba looked over around said, “Pashu!! (animal!!) who is it that is thinking such negative and crude thoughts in our AM compound – where is that person – who is doing such things!” Then the Wts searched all around and made inquiries and finally they caught the guilty party. It was the same Wt who had previously sinned and promised to have become good.

Then with His eyes cast on that Wt, Baba said, “Were You the one thinking those negative thoughts in this campus.” The Wt looked down at his feet admitting guilt.

Baba continued, “So you were still thinking about your nasty ways!!.”

This was Baba’s divine liila wherein He would express His love in dramatic ways for the welfare of His bhaktas.

Baba continued, “You made my ashram impure and dirty by your negative thinking. One should never do like that. One should not think of their past sins. Get him out of here! Kick him out! This is not the place for this! Already I have given him too many chances!”

So in the grand liila of it all, the Wt was pushed out. And sometime later in His contemplative and sweet manner, Baba said that he should be called back and immediately the worker was allowed to re-enter the ashram. This was Baba’s very gracious and forgiving nature to always lovingly accept one and all. Ultimately though, it has to be noted that in the end, some months later, that worker left his wt-ship entirely, on his own accord.

MUST NOT LOOK BACK AT ONE’S PAST SINS

Here the whole point of Baba’s teaching is that if one does any misdeed or sinful activity, then one must repent, rectify the matter, yet never, ever look back at those past mistakes. So on that particular day, Baba was showering His immense grace on that worker as He was removing all that terrible sin from that Wt. Due to Baba’s fathomless grace, He made that worker clean and pure all over again. All that Wt had to do was keep his mind away from such dirty thoughts – nothing more. So Baba truly blessed that worker by wiping away the ill-effect of so many crude sins.

Even then, due to his improper approach of again & again harboring those sinful ideas, that worker fell into the negative trap of mentally reviewing his lustful indgulgences – and by that way he could not keep his balance and he left.

The overarching ideal that Baba is giving is that one must never think about one’s past sins. One must move on and think about Him. That is the whole idea.

ALL HAVE SOMETHING IN THEIR PAST

Because each and every person on this earth has been born with various samskaras and in this life or their past life, one has committed countless sins. Everyone has some garbage in their past. But Baba does not want us to think of those things– that has no value, rather doing so is harmful as it will stain and dirty the mind. Never should one knowingly or consciously indulge in that habit of thinking about their past mistakes.

Actually, the mind is such that it will automatically bring those crude ideas even when we do not want them to come and our job is to rid the mind of such impure thoughts. Those thoughts may come in sadhana or when moving in the town etc, yet always we are to push that crude thought aside by singing kiirtan or repeating our mantra or by thinking of Him.

So there is no need to consciously think of those old, impure memories of old. Such thoughts will only drag us down. Never should we harbour them in our mental plate.

As sadhakas we must always wipe away the burdens of the past by channeling the mind towards spirituality.

BABA’S TEACHING: FREE THE MIND OF ONE’S PAST MISTAKES

And here in this shloka Baba is giving this very directive that one must never allow the mind to get stuck thinking about past misdeeds.

Yassa pure ca pa pacche ca majjhe ca natthi kiuncanam’;
Akiunca’nam’ ana’da’nam’ tamaham’ bru’mi bra’hman’am.

Baba says, “I will call that person a Brahman whose mind does not run after any colour, who is neither obsessed by colour-laden thoughts of the past nor influenced by such thoughts of the present…One must free the mind from the influence of all colours. ” (NKS, Disc: 24)

Thus Baba’s divine teaching is that we should never burden or dirty ourselves by thinking of one’s past misdeeds and sins. We are to keep the mind light and and colourless not become beleaguered by the things of old.

So Baba’s teaching is quite clear– He has left no scope for confusion or ambiguity. One must never entertain the crude recollection of their past misdeeds or sins.

YET SOME DADAS TELL…

Yet on occasion on or another avadhuta actively promotes the idea that to overcome one’s ego one must think about their past sins. This is the “special formula” some Dada has given.

They say that to overcome the ego one must think about their past mistakes– otherwise one will never be able to overcome the ego.

Obviously, this goes against Baba’s divine teaching because Baba says that thinking about one’s past misdeeds will only lead to one’s degeneration. It has no positive outcome– it will not help one overcome the ego. That is why Baba strongly warns us never to do like that– and indeed no true sadhaka does. Rather we are to lighten our mind by forgetting about one’s past sins and channeling our thoughts towards Him.

BABA’S TRUE REMEDY FOR OVERCOMING THE EGO

The only question remains then is what is the proper way to overcome feelings of vanity and ego– since thinking about one’s past wrongs is certainly not the proper way.

For this Baba has given one beautiful remedy.

Baba guides us that we are to think that, ‘He is the Doer and Giver of everything. He has given us our sadhana, our intellect, and our energy to act. And not only that, He is the owner of everything. It all belongs to Him. There is nothing we own and all our talents are not our own bur rather His gifts unto us.’

By thinking like this and remembering our sadhana, then one can never develop any feeling of vanity or ego. Because the mind will always be immersed in the sweet ideal, that everything comes from Him. It is all due to His grace and divine will.

BABA’S BLESSING

By Baba’s grace He has given us the proper way to keep the mind free of impure thoughts and He clearly tells us in so many discourses never ever to think of one’s past mistakes and sins. This we should not do. Thus when one avadhuta gives such ill-fated advice on email, we should not pay any heed. Let us again and again remember that we are to follow the mandates of our Guru, and not any second or third entity. Here again is Baba’s special teaching.

Baba says, “You should think within that you are ever pure and enlightened – you are a child of Parama Purus’a. You should think that you are like a newborn baby who remains untouched or unaffected by the dirt and dross of sin.” (AMWIL-11)

As we know our Dadas and Didis are full-time representatives of Baba and the Marga. So their behaviour and dealing are to be proper at all times, especially when in public.

In particular Baba warns about any kind of mixing & dealing with the opposite sex.

Baba says, “You will protect yourself from sexual weakness and luxury.” (WT Conduct Rules, Fourteen Points, pt #12)

Baba says, “One should not look at the face of the opposite sex…” (37 Workers Rules, pt# 15)

Unfortunately, an ongoing scene took place at the 2011 Jamalpur DMS that contravened Baba’s stated mandates.

WHAT HAPPENED AT JAMALPUR DMS:

EYEING AND FLIRTING

At DMS, Dadas and Didis were staying in multi-story buildings directly across the street from each other – approximately 70 feet apart. The buildings were basically the same height.

During free time in the evening hours, some or more Dadas were going up to the rooftop to watch what the Didis were doing. Dadas were on one rooftop and Didis on the another – and those Dadas were waving and gossiping and smiling towards those Didis. Indeed an unsightly scene was created – the term “spectacle” is perhaps most suited.

Firstly, as we all know, Dadas and Didis should not be flirting in this way – neither privately nor publicly.

But see how this was done: Our Dadas were in very casual garb and they were watching those Didis who were not in their usual office dress. Dadas were motioning and signaling towards those Didis.

Those watching stated that: “Allurement was in the air as our own Dadas and Didis were gesturing, texting, and phoning to each other – just like school kids.” It went on like this day after day – morning and evening – during the Jamalpur DMS program.

Some of the names of those involved are appended below.

PROPER CONDUCT NEEDED

Considering these are our sannyasis this was quite unbecoming. Our Dadas and Didis are to maintain a strict code of conduct befitting that of a renunciate. They are to set an example. Yet at this DMS, some disregarded Baba’s WT conduct rules. And they made a public spectacle of themselves.

Many of the townspeople watched as these events unfolded. They were astonished and even shocked by this display of some of our Dadas and Didis.

Is it any wonder then that our wholetimers are not commanding proper respect in the general society. When people see how some of our acaryas behave, then they feel aghast. They wonder how could such people be true acaryas when they behave in such an immature and peculiar manner.

POORLY REFLECTS ON ALL WORKERS

All this casts a dark shadow on the many good Dadas and Didis who work hard and are sincere about their conduct and spiritual life. As Ananda Margiis it is our duty to pay closer attention to the way some of our wholetimers project themselves in public. Otherwise how will we be ever to lead the society forward.

A CASE IN POINT:

WT PRAISED DESPITE SEXUAL MISCONDUCT

By reading the above, some may be thinking, “Oh no, this can’t be so – our acaryas would not behave like that during DMS.”

However, as unfortunate as all this may sound, here is further evidence of what goes on these days. Some of you may know about Dada Vipulananda (former RS Chandigahr). Well this Dada had all kinds of illicit relations with the opposite sex until finally he recently left his wt ship. When he left he grabbed all the money he collected during his wt life and used those organisational funds to start his own private business. He now runs a petrol pump in Sitamarhi Bihar. And he is still involved in that illicit affair.

Even more remarkable is that such types of Dadas get a lot of praise in the organisation. Rudrananda himself highlighted this Dada in a workers meeting: “Wts should be like Vipulananda…”. So this Dada received huge praise & stature within our wt ranks, yet his conduct was loathsome and filthy.

This all goes to show how conduct is not the main thing these days in certain WT circles. No doubt the vast majority of our Wts are sincere, but their contributions go overlooked. Rather those who give money – like ex-Vipulananda – are praised to the sky and free to do as they wish. This Dada was laudee as being ideal – when in truth his dealing was despicable. Why was he praised? Because he gave big money to top Dadas.

This type of event sets the tone that one need not worry about their conduct if they are a WT. Tragically, a few take advantage of this. And that is what we see happening at some of our public functions as well as behind closed doors.

RESOLUTION NEEDED

With regards to the scene and that 2011 Jamalpur DMS and all such related incidents, it all comes down to one thing: Honoring and adhering to a spiritual ideal in life. When that is done all kinds of great things will unfold in our Marga and our workers will be proper and respected by all. So long as that is not done, then on a regular basis we will witness this kind of poor conduct that reflects badly on our Marga.

BABA’S BLESSING

Here is Baba’s universal guideline for all workers and sadhakas. This is the ultimate solution to all these kinds of problems.

Baba says, ““Cakśuńá Saḿvaro Sádhu” O spiritual aspirant! O Bhikśu! O monk! O devotee! You should have proper control over your eyes; whatever will have bad effect on your mind, you must not see it. “Sádhu Sotena saḿvaro”. Whatever will have bad effect on your mind, O good man, you must not hear it. “Ghánena Saḿvaro Sádhu.” You should have control over your nose, “Sádhu Jibháya Saḿvaro.” You should have control over your taste. “Káyena Saḿvaro Sádhu.” You should have control over your body. “Sádhu Vácáya Saḿvaro.” You should have control over your language also; and “Savvatha Saḿvaro Bhikśu.” If you want emancipation, if you want liberation from worldly fetters, you must have all-round restraint.” (Ananda Vacanamrtam, Part 14, The Fundamental Principles of Life)

each and every unit existence to blossom fully. It follows then that from

the very tender moment a child emerges from the womb, or even before then,

tantra places great emphasis on the care & well-being of the infant.

 

Tragically in this present era, especially in our materialistic west, there

are countless social ills undermining and ruining the raising of our

children. And while there are numerous angles to view from, this particular

letter focuses on the controversial topic: Adoption and Pornography.

 

 

A CASE STUDY: YOUNG GIRL FROM RUSSIA BROUGHT TO US

 

Note: This below description reveals somewhat alarming and graphic

information about child abuse. All readers should be aware and proceed

keeping this in mind.

 

In the late 1990s, an American man registered with an adoption agency and

went through the long and arduous process of adoption. At the end of this

1.5 – 2 year period, the man was approved and a young three-year-old girl

from Russia was placed in his custody. According to the rules of adoption,

he was now the legal and recognised parent of this child.

 

This began a tragic and disastrous scandal that will shock even the most

experienced counselors and social workers who “have heard it all”.

 

From day 1, the man used the innocent young girl in lewd sexual acts and

posted those things on the Internet. Here is not the occasion to reveal all

those nasty details etc, but from the tender age of 3 up to the age of 10,

the deranged man kept the girl as his own personal, sex toy. His entire

rented apartment was made up of 1 main bedroom where the two of them would

live together and sleep. And when the deranged man would go out from the

house then he would lock the young girl in the basement. This was going on

day after day for years. And to fund his crazed lifestyle, he would film

pornographic and erotic acts performed on the young girl and publicize and

sell them on the internet. In this way the years passed and obviously

throughout it all he kept his own identity secret.

 

Authorities began to investigate those scandalous images posted to the

Internet and ultimately after a lengthy investigation they uncovered who

the offender was and brought the man to jail etc.

 

Unfortunately the terrible damage was done: the young girl was jarred for

life. There was no way to undo the years of terror and abuse.

 

Only now authorities are looking into how the adoption agency could have

“approved” such a man for being an adoptive parent.

 

Tragically, there are many such sick adults who engage in this type of

nasty endeavour as the Internet is used as a medium to profit from child

pornography.

 

 

“SAFEGUARDS” TAKEN BY ADOPTION AGENCIES ARE NOT ENOUGH

 

In the aftermath of such a tragedy, adoption agencies are considering what

they could have and should have done to prevent such a disaster that has

permanently scarred the young girl for life.

 

Some advocates say that the adoption agencies should make routine and

follow-up visits to the adopted children after they are placed in the

custody of their new parents.

 

Others say that the standards and regulations for adoption should be made

even more strict.

 

Still others suggest that multiple social agencies should be involved while

others want schools to take a more active role.

 

And some authorities recommend making harsher laws and increasing the

punishment for sex offenders.

 

These are some of the many proposals being made to avert such crimes in the

future– crimes which rob another human being of their life. But with their

limited approach, nothing which they propose will be a final solution to

the problem. Because the ills of materialism can not be solved through

materialistic means.

 

 

ANANDA MARGA’S PERSPECTIVE ON THE MATTER

 

Here Baba gives us a step-by-step look into the matter: From the raising of

the child to the elimination of the problem to the positive method how to

move ahead.

 

Firstly, in AM, Baba reminds us again and again that children are very

impressionable and parents have a tremendous impact on the growth and

development of the child.

 

Baba says, “The mental outlook of children has already been moulded in a

particular fashion by the influence of their family environment before they

start school. No matter what or how much they learn at school, it is

extremely difficult for them to free themselves from the influence of their

family. Drawing on what they have learned in the family, the immature minds

of children begin to learn about the world and understand it, and to

receive ideas and master language so that they can express those ideas.

Unhesitatingly they adopt their elders’ way of looking at the world. Hence

the primary responsibility for acquainting children with the world lies

with their parents or guardians. Children will become assets of society in

the future to the extent that their parents or guardians discharge their

duties properly.” (HS-1)

 

Reading Baba’s above directive, it becomes clear that parents are the

primary factor behind the success or failure of their children. Their

effect on the children is enormous. Here again is Baba’s guideline.

EFFECT OF ABUSIVE PARENTS SCARS CHILDREN

 

When children are reared in an abusive and contaminated environment where

the parents are totally mishandling and torturing them, then that

permanently scars the minds of those young kids. It is not something that

can be corrected easily. Because the torment and pain experienced by those

children is extremely deep seeded. Here Baba presents the extreme anguish

of those children.

 

Baba says, “The lack of cordial relations causes many children to heartily

wish for the death of…their abusive parents.” (HS-1)

 

 

IT IS THE DUTY OF ALL

 

Here Baba presents a key guideline for how to handle those situations where

child abuse is happening.

 

Baba says, “It should be the duty of society as a whole to ensure that the

children of immoral and unrighteousness parents are brought up as virtuous

citizens. If possible such children should be removed from the unwholesome

environment of their parents.” (HS-1)

 

According to Baba, once it is found out and discovered that a particular

parent or set of parents are abusing their children, then it becomes a

problem which should be properly and thoroughly addressed by the combined

efforts of the collective. One broken down adoption agency is not enough.

 

The entire society should be held responsible for ensuring the proper

raising of those children. According to Baba, that is the first step

towards rectifying this problem.

 

 

BABA’S PRESCRIBED METHOD TO ADDRESSING PORNOGRAPHY

 

Here Baba gives us insight into the next phase how to overcome the entire

problem of childhood pornography.

 

Baba says, “In certain parts of this world, depraving tendencies such as

pornography exist. Simply protesting will not stop these things: we will

have to do something positive to check it. Such positive action will create

a new stir in the human mind.” (AFPS-8)

 

Thus Baba’s solution goes far beyond the short-sighted vision of today’s

materialistic adoption agencies etc. Baba guides us that merely protesting

the matter is not enough. Raising slogans and putting offenders behind bars

will not do. That will neither cure nor eliminate the problem.

 

Baba explicitly tell us that we are to inject a new way of thinking into

the minds of those wrongdoers as well as in the minds of each and every

citizen. Exposing the criminal behavior is not enough, side by side the

positive and pure vision of neo-humanism must be presented to the people.

This will ensure their minds develop in a natural and proper way– not

allowing negative ideas to fester and take shape.

 

Here furthermore Baba gives specific recommendations as to how we are to

infuse a healthy, positive vision to overcome the evils of child pornography.

Baba says, “Pornography and other depraving tendencies will be completely

discouraged and checked. That will be our course of action. We have to

create new literature, new books, new music, new songs. We have to chalk

out a programme and act accordingly.” (PNS-12, ‘Rule of Rationality)

 

By giving the people a clean and spiritual way of living where each and

every aspect of human life is sentient and pure, then people will surely

develop in a nice way. Nourished with the freshness of neo-humanism, their

mode of thinking will be sweet and benevolent.

By Baba’s divine grace He has blessed us with all the answers– ensuring

that on this dusty earth we will develop a beautiful world order.

 

Baba says, “There is only one ideology in the world which is not only

all nooks and corners of this world. The wind is blowing in our favour. We

should carry the message to each and every particle of marrow of this

Note 1: RAMPANT HYPOCRISY OF CAPITALISTIC LIFE

 

Life is so imbalanced in the sex-oriented materialistic countries. Such

authorities are totally inept to solve any problem. On the one side in

places like the US there is a growing concern about child abuse and child

pornography: The laws and punishment against such crimes are becoming more

strict and severe. In that case, naive and foolish people will think that

these authorities are concerned and ready to solve the problem. Simple

people think those solutions are viable etc When in fact their whole

approach is nonsense.

 

Because that same US government gives Hollywood and the US corporations

full freedom to use female sexuality to sell each and every film and each

and every product. The entire country is filled with sexually alluring

signs, posters, and billboards. Such degrading scenes fill every street

corner and bus-stand. On every television set and movie screen people’s

lower vrittis are getting stimulated. The female body is used as a selling

point for each and every company product. The whole society is littered in

that way. In that case, of course the minds of the people will get

deranged. Already they are constantly being goaded towards crude,

animalistic tendencies. In that case even good people are bound to be

degraded and thrust into pornography and sexual scandals etc.

 

Yet through it all the materialistic authorities pretend that they are

going to solve the problem. But they will never get success. And in fact,

such governments are happy seeing the people degraded and running after

sexual allurements. Because this keeps their minds dull and makes it easier

for the government to befool and exploit their own citizens. This is the

height of their hypocrisy.

 

About all this much, much more can be written. Let us simply conclude with

this fact: The materialistic “solution” is no solution.

 

Only Baba’s neo-humanism can lead the society out of the darkness and into

instrumental music. These three aspects of music when combined together

create such an unblemished, heavenly environment that people completely

truly intelligent should certainly do kiirtana either in public, or if they

The news presented in this letter shows what a few Dadas are doing. We should all consider the scene after going over Baba’s related guidelines.

ONE FATEFUL REPORTING SESSION

The following is one Baba story from a reporting session which sheds light on this entire topic.

There once was a Dada who bought a very simple, ordinary pen – that cost only 1 rupee – and he presented it to one female whom he was attracted to.

Some days later, that Dada was in a general reporting session. Many workers were present. After some time Baba directed His attention to that Dada. In front of one and all, Baba strongly pointed out that Dada.

Baba said, “Why did you waste organisational money in that way. There are so many suffering people whom we are trying to help and you are using organisational funds on a gift for a female whom you favour.”

Baba then mercilessly beat that Dada with His own hand and told to everyone that this Dada’s dealing was totally sinful.

All present that day witnessed how in the presentation of His loving liila, Baba displayed His full fury to save that Dada from his low-minded manner of gross attachment to a member of the opposite sex.

The real problem was not the amount of money involved, after all it was only 1 rupee. Baba clearly was rectifying that Dada of his defective and imbalanced state of mind where his vrtti of attachment for one female overpowered his sense of rationality.

Baba’s overall guideline is that our resources (physical and psychic) should be used for genuine causes and not directed toward those whom we favour under the influence of lower propensities. That is Baba’s special teaching. By Baba’s grace the aforementioned Dada could rectify himself and thereafter lead a successful career as an acarya of the Marga.

Keeping all of the above in mind, kindly review this below news update about the behaviour of a certain Dada.

NEWS REPORT:

DADA’S LUSTFUL PARTIALITY

While groupism in any form is very negative, the Ranchi Administration suffers from a particular weakness as shown here.

One of the biggest reasons for Ranchi’s fall from dharma is Rudrananda’s tendency to let his “pet” Dadas do as they please and indulge in loose behavior without ever having to face any punishment or threat thereof. Rudrananda fully sanctions all the misdeeds of his pets. The wrongdoing of Dada C is widely known in the organisation but Rudrananda is knowingly protecting him for political gains.

Here below is a case study for your review. Kindly evaluate how far Dada C is stuck in the mud of ekdarshita’ dos’a, i.e. partiality or favouritism, under the influence of lower propensities.

In Mumbai, Dada C bought a flat (apartment) for one sister using organizational money. This flat was purchased from Mr. H.B Lal’s son-in-law. During every visit to Mumbai, Dada C visits the jagrti for just a few hours and then immediately rushes over to that female’s flat.

Here it should be understood that the flat Dada bought is in the most luxurious and exclusive section of Mumbai. It is a very expensive neighborhood.

Dadaji’s infatuation is so much for this girl that he has basically taken undue benefits of this girl’s poverty as her father was blind and mother a simple house lady. Indeed, Dada C been supporting this female since she was a child. He paid for her education, lodging, and upbringing from her youth all the way up to adulthood. He visited this girl on a regular basis during those many years.

Dadaji collects money from margiis for various projects and diverts those funds and expends them on this one girl whom he favours.

And there is much more to the story, so please read furthermore.

Originally this girl was from the most destitute part of Mumbai. As we know there are literally millions of other poor people suffering in such a manner, but instead of trying to help the society on the whole through social service projects, Dada C selected this one girl as his chosen one. Indeed, Dada C fell in love with that family and hand-picked her when he was posted in Mumbai a long time back.

Initially, many thought that Dada C was simply expressing his fatherly regards, but over time it has become painfully clear that something much worse is operating and driving him to behave in this manner. Because it is totally abnormal for a 75 year old Wt or renunciate to have this kind of relation with a now grown female of 35 years of age.

Dada gives preference to staying at this female’s flat and never sleeps at the jagrti when he visits Mumbai. Her fancy apartment has become his hideaway or special enclave. It is not the girl’s fault; she is innocent as this all started when she was just 5 or 6 years of age and now she is in her 30’s. Clearly, Dadaji indoctrinated her into this type of dealing. And the worst part is that to keep her as his own, Dada keeps her away from all Ananda Marga functions. So he does not even do any dharma pracara with her. Just he reserves her for his own personal comforts and enjoyment. Dada is that infatuated with her.

This case is well-known to many, many margiis and Wts of Mumbai.

But when anyone raises this matter with Dada C, then he loses his temper and gets totally angry and boisterous. That is why others have come to simply observe. Plus with the outbreak of extreme groupism, margiis have directed their attention to other matters.

As mentioned, the girl’s father became blind and the family was very poor. So they were very vulnerable to Dadaji’s ways since he came around with a big, fat wallet. And the father died a few years ago so now he is out of the picture entirely. Only the mother is alive and she is totally simple and sees herself as 100% obliged to Dadaji. Thus she has no objection to a monk spending so much personal time with her daughter. After all Dada “rescued” the family from poverty and now both mother and daughter live in this plush apartment paid for by Dadaji. The apartment itself cost millions and millions of rupees – all purchased with organisational money.

Now that the mother has become elderly – and even from the beginning – Dada C paid no special attention to her; his entire attachment and infatuation is directed towards the daughter.

While the daughter has been initiated, she is kept arms-length from the organisation and Dada C even himself arranged her marriage to a children’s home boy.  Even though the girl is now married, Dada C stays there regularly especially when the husband is away for work duties etc. Actually the husband lives primarily in Pondicherry (South India), so mostly Dada C is alone with the girl. The husband is a pet of Dada C, that is why he was selected to marry the girl, so he feels so indebted to Dada C. The husband has no eyes to see all that is going on behind the curtain.

Under the burden of obligation the mother says nothing about all this.

RUDRANANDA ALSO PARTICIPATES

But we know that this is totally abnormal behavior according to any organizational rule. It has also been noticed that Rudrananda visits the same flat every so often and takes no action against Dada C. No inquiries, nothing. Rudrananda has not been seen engaging in sexual impropriety but it is unclear why he sleeps there and not in the jagrti.

Indeed as we all know, Dada C has a tendency to develop intimate relationships with sisters. This is his horrible weakness. He has a long track record in this regard yet his boss overlooks the matter entirely. Rudrananda automatically condones anything Dada C does.

MORE ABOUT DADA C’S DEALINGS

In general and in many ways, Dada C’s behaviour is not good. He is a very bad example as he bullies Didis and junior Dadas. Yet all along he is protected by Rudrananda.

In fact, Dada C was initiated by Rudrananda. And Rudrananda is well known for giving indulgence to such tendencies of ideologically bankrupt WTs in order to gain their blind support for the power game in Central Office. That is Rudrananda’s manner.

Here is one other related account: Not too long ago Dada C physically molested the daughter of a revered margii in Ranchi. The whole Central Office of Ranchi Administration took no action against this heinous crime. Instead, Rudrananda and his followers used their entire means to suppress the crime.

So that is yet another example of many regarding Dada C’s immoral dealing.

Plus Dada C takes special interest in the affairs of Pune. Over time he has treats this unit as his parental property. So much so, that he registered Pune Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha land in his own name and not in the name of General Secretary as per the conventions given by Baba Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji.

In Pune Dada C has been visiting the Bhukti Pradhan’s house frequently and obliges one lady in the neighborhood to serve him meals on regular basis. Mr. C’s behavior in Pune resembles that of Mumbai where he comes to the jagrti for a few short hours and then rushes to his special place where he enjoys the female company and pampered treatment.

Dada C visits the BP and stays at his home for many, many days inspite of having a full-fledged jagrti in Pune. We don’t  know for sure if he is engaged sexually with the neighbour lady but we have every reasons to believe that since he stays at Shivaji’s place only for that lady who brings food to Mr. C every day.  This story about Mr. C is known amongst WTs and Margiis in Pune.

INCIDENT IN NAGPUR: DADA C & DADA N

Even then, Dada C’s behaviour does not end there.

In Nagpur, Dada N was posted there about 4 years ago and he got glued to one margii sister who is close to Dada C. When this news came in to the ears of Dada C, he took the toughest action he could – even defying Marga’s convention. He had this Dada N removed of sannyasi dress, and had his beard-mustache shaved off in public, much to the disgrace of Ananda Marga. This incident happened about 4 years ago.

The whole situation with Dada N could have been dealt with according to the procedures of the organization. But, it seems, Dada C was annoyed by the fact that someone tried to compete with him in his arena of female closeness.Thus, Dada C chose to personally attack and humiliate Dada N, i.e. Dada Navinananda.

By the same rules Dada C should have been punished long ago by the organization. But he is under the shelter of Rudrananda, after all.

FURTHER REVIEW OF DADA C

Dada C’s behaviour is similar to those who suffer from a mental disease where they are constantly seeking female company this way or that way. This can be proven by the fact that he talks very mellow with Didis who act submissively in front of him and very harshly with Didis who stand strongly. This fact can be verified by any Didi currently working with Ranchi Administration. Dada C suffers from short temper and lack of rational view and he bullies junior WTs and Didis.

He clearly lacks skills to communicate properly and effectively with WTs and margiis and also lacks skills to manage office. Still he is kept to maintain a big portfolio only to support Rudrananda.

For all these reasons and more, Dada C – i.e Citsvarupananda – is very unpopular amongst Ranchi Dadas and Didis for his chauvinistic behaviour.

Yet Rudrananda chooses this kind of Dada as his pet because he can be easily manipulated by him: All for the end of his group politics.

As Ananda Margiis, the flagbearers of Baba’s divine ideology,  we are not to fall in sin. This is especially true of our acaryas and others in leadership positions in the Marga. That is Baba’s distinct teaching and warning.

Citsvarupananda Dada is a slave to his own baser propensities and he is dragging down others along the way. This type of dealing should not and must not be supported a moment longer.

BABA’S GUIDELINES TO CURE FALLEN WTS

Baba says, “Nothing will result from dyeing one’s clothes with saffron colour only for show. Dye yourself within. People of some particular religious creeds think that dyeing their clothes or bodies with a particular colour is a part of spiritual Sádhaná. But remember that is all useless, unless you are dyed within as well. Can a person become a shúdra only by wearing a dark dress, or a vipra by donning white garments? Mahatma Kabir used to say –

Mana ná ráuṋgáile ráuṋgáile yogi kápaŕá.

[Saffron and red do not a yogi make
With mind undyed he remains a fake.]

“Dye your mind with His colour. Those who have not done so cannot attain Him, for this very coloration is Prema or Divine Love. The differences in colour are signs of distinction; without these differences there is identity. No external sign of Sádhutá or virtue is necessary. Became sádhu within. Behind the external show of virtuousness of many so-called sádhus exists a pharisaic state of mind. Preserve the true dignity of the word, Sádhu.”

Múŕha múŕháye jat́á váŕháye masta phire jaesá bhaesá
Khalrii upar khák lágáye
Mana jaeśá to taesá.

[With shaven head or matted locks
And ashen body a Sádhu walks
With the swaggering gait of a well-fed buffalo.
And crude mind filled with thoughts mean and low.]

Baba says, “People tend to misutilize wealth by indulging in their baser propensities rather than their finer ones. Therefore you will mark, as I am making it crystal-clear to you, that most of the kings and Nawabs of ancient times were, and most of the aristocrats and wealthy people of today who have nothing to do are generally wicked and mean-minded. In addition, you will see that government officers who do not have psychic and spiritual interests also become mean-minded. When we have to judge, we must be frank. It can be observed that it is natural for people to move towards sin if over-accumulated physical and psychic pabula is not utilized. If people have developed intellects which are not properly directed, and there is no administration of the Sadvipras, people become polished satans.” (The Three Causes of Sin, 30 May 1970, Muzaffarpur)

Baba says, “Mudhabhútni samadhi, or the trance of infatuation, is a little higher than this. This is a state of mental stupefaction which results from excessive infatuation, causing a person to lose all common sense. All the propensities of the infatuated person become absorbed in the object of infatuation.” (This World and the Next, Shrávańii Púrńimá 1956 DMC, Madhopur, Monghyr)

Baba says, “As human beings have passed through so many animal lives in the process of saiṋcara to attain the human life, the material objects of enjoyment easily drag their minds towards preya. But preya only brings temporary relief to human afflictions before it throws them into the dark pit of misery. Human beings are by nature short-sighted and remain engrossed in the temporary pleasures of the present, for which they unnecessarily waste their valuable time and energy. For a patient of beriberi, the use of salt is prohibited, but in the pursuit of temporary satisfaction he may use salt, even while knowing that it is harmful. The result is a more serious attack of the disease.” (Integral and Non-Integral Outlook)

Here is follow-up news and information, as well as the name of Dadas and
Didis involved, regarding the topic of Nigamanandji and his personal
relationship with one Didi.

This issue is of great importance for multiple reasons.

When a senior Wt and purodha like Nigamananda engages in conduct – i.e.
dealings with the opposite sex – that is blatantly contrary to Baba’s
teachings, then the horrible danger is that others will emulate his poor
behaviour. In a phrase, Nigamananda is a bad example and a bad role
model. Yet the whole aim in being an acarya is to set a proper example:

Baba says, “Bear in mind that people may be harmed or misled by even a
small weakness or defect in the conduct of an a’ca’rya. Just as it is
the duty of a father to educate his children properly by his good
conduct, an a’ca’rya should always instruct by his exemplary actions and
words.” (AV-31)

THE POWER OF AN EXAMPLE: POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE

Indeed, setting a positive example is so important in life.

For this reason Baba Himself would personally do sadhana when there was
no need for Him to do sadhana. Why? To set a good example.

Baba says, “He [Taraka Brahma] needs no sadhana, but just to set an
example to others, He performs sadhana with the masses.” (DT-2)

All human beings need to do sadhana for our growth and development, and
by His grace He has shown us the way. And indeed in AM, every single
Ananda Margii understands that sadhana must be done. Verily all the
conduct rules which He has given need to be strictly followed. This then
is the power of a positive example.

Now let’s look at the opposite end of the spectrum.

B group started doing an annual shraddha ceremony in the form of
Mahaprayan Divas, and now some naive margii are following this same
dogma with regards to their deceased relations. Each year they are
observing the death day of their relative with pomp and show etc. Even
though this is against AM conduct rules, they justify that what tare
doing is not different from what Tiljala camp is doing.

Here the point is that people follow what the leaders do. This is how
human beings behave. They do not think rationally or independently but
rather follow what the leaders do. That is why youths follow the star
actors and athletes etc. Every decade there are different stars and
hence different fads. That is Baba’s teaching.

BACK TO THE MAIN STORY

Thus when Nigamananda is going against Baba’s divine teachings then he
is going to create much harm. That is Baba’s warning and that is what is
going on. Indeed because of seeing Dada Nigamananda, so many Dadas
became overweight.

Furthermore, Baba’s clear-cut teaching is that Dadas must not indulge in
close relations with members of the opposite sex. (All these rules are
noted in the below cited letter.)

By his indulgence, Dada is showing that it is “OK” to disregard Baba’s
teachings. And when Dada compromises then younger, impressionable
workers will be led astray by his negative example.

For instance, most are aware that the Didi whom Nigamananda spends all
his time with one Didi. Dada basically trained her to be his companion.
And indeed due to Dada’s negative teaching she may think this is the
right thing to do.

Thus when she recently toured all throughout NY sector in order to drum
up support for Nigamananda, then she followed what he taught her. Didi
did not try and travel with other Didis, nor did she work alone, instead
she linked up with Dada Shubacetananda and the two of them moved all
over the sector as if they were permanently joined at the hip.

Yet this is not their fault per se….

This is a direct result of Nigamananda’s poor example. Didi got
indoctrinated into this type of life and then she justified this to
Shubacetanandaji. They were so confident in their dealing that they
traveled openly together in front of one and all as if they were husband
and wife. All margiis, lfts, acaryas, and the common public saw their
display. Dada S and Didi moved together in one car all day and stayed
together every night. Everyone saw this.

Hence Didi and Shubacetananda either thought:
1) This is the proper way of doing since this is what Nigamanandji does.
2) Or they thought that since Nigamananda does not follow Baba’s stated
conduct rules then I also need not follow.

So the root cause behind it all is Nigamananda’s negative behaviour.
That is why Baba warns us to severely that the misdealing of one Dada
will create a lot of problems.

Baba says, “Bear in mind that people may be harmed or misled by even a
small weakness or defect in the conduct of an a’ca’rya.” (AV-31)

Note: TRANSGRESSORS BEWARE

Those blindly following Nigamananda and skipping all their conduct rules
regarding relations with opposite sex will bear the consequences of
their misdeeds. They will have to face the unenviable reaction.

It is the duty of each margii and wt not to blindly follow any human
being rather we are to follow the direct commands of Guru.

Certainly the key problem in all of this is Dada Nigamananda’s behaviour
yet nor can we 100% ignore or free from blame others who got involved.

I do not want to highlight any Didi’s name but without that the report
looks like some type of fairy tale. Hence the involved Didi is Ananda
Dyotana Avtk. She is the one who passes all her time with Nigamananda

This is in reply to the sincere margii who is defending Nigamananda’s
conduct and close relation with one Didi by claiming that those with
black hair have sexual restraint.

1. To justify his point, the sincere margii states that Dada
Shraddhanandji had black hair late in life. But, all should know that
the late Shraddhanandji lived as a family person for many years and
fathered several children. This itself shows that just because one has
black hair in later age does not mean that they exercised full control
over their sexual actions. Plus there are countless aged actors in
Bollywood and Hollywood who have thick, black hair yet throughout their
lives they engaged in so much hanky-panky. So the illusion that black
hair in late age means celibacy is just a myth – nothing more. It is
unfortunate that the sincere margii got misguided on this point.

2. Secondly, Baba never said that those with black hair need not follow
conduct rules. And several of His rules for Wts mandate that avadhutas
must not spend time alone with the opposite sex. Yet that is exactly
what Dada Nigamananda is doing as he passes so much time with one Didi –
they are together almost 12 hours daily, on a regular basis. Should we
overlook this discretion because Dadaji has black hair.

3. Finally, we all know that the life of any revered wt is to set forth
a proper example. That is one of the great aspects of acarya life. Yet,
by skipping Baba’s conduct rules and spending all his time with a
younger Didi, Nigamanandji’s actions are a poor representation of Baba’s
teachings. But because of his seniority and post, various junior workers
have begun doing this same type of dealing. They think, “If Dadaji can
have a Didi friend, then so can I find a Didi for myself – what’s the
harm.” Thus his poor behaviour is having terrible domino effect on our
entire Wt cadre.

Thus in no way, shape or form can we accept any justifications about
Nigamananda’s poor dealing. Unfortunately, the sincere margii got
misguided by someone and ended up writing his letter (see below).

Now it is commonly known that one top posted Dada spends so many of his
waking moments with a particular Didi.

Yet Baba has clearly given all Ananda Margiis – and especially Wts –
specific conduct rules which clearly mandate the separation of the sexes.

Indeed, everyone in our Marga knows that one Dada and one Didi are not
supposed to be traveling and living together. Nor are they supposed to
be gossiping on the phone for hours and hours about non-organisational
topics.

Unfortunately this is allegedly going in at least a select few cases.
Before mentioning the name of one highly posted Dada who is seemingly
indulged in this manner, we should once again review some of Baba’s
rules for Wts.

BABA’S STRICT GUIDELINES

These following conduct rules apply to all wearing Wt dress – none are
exempt. By this way the purity and strength of our devoted cadre is
maintained.

Baba says, “Avadhuta must not remain in a lonely place with any female.”
(32 Rules For Avadhutas, pt #13)

Baba says, “One should not look at the face of the opposite sex except
at the time of nursing.” (37 Workers Rules, pt #15)

Baba says, “You will protect yourself from sexual weakness and luxury.”
(Fourteen Points, pt #12)

It is Baba’s grace that He has blessed us with rules and regulations in
all realms of life, by this way our Marga can be of a high moral
standard and not fall prey to sexual lapses as has happened with so many
churches, temples, spiritual groups, and so-called great sadhus etc.

Hence, nobody in our Marga is above the rules; all must adhere to Baba’s
stated guidelines.

WHAT ONE SENIOR DADA IS DOING

For all of the above reasons and more, many are telling that Dada
Nigama’nandji must pay heed. Because he spends all his time with one
particular Didi.

They talk together, smile together, walk together, talk together, travel
together, eat together, gossip together, joke together, and plan
together – among other things. Everything is done together; that is the
way Dada Nigamananda is reportedly conducting his life in connection
with one Didi.

Indeed they are so much like two peas in a pod, that if you have seen
Dada Nigamanandji in the last year or two, then most likely you know
exactly which Didi it is. Because they are always together.

What they do or don’t do physically is one matter, but they are so
mentally involved with one another that they can hardly tolerate being
separated. Such is the degree to which they are linked and attached.

The most common complaint about Dadaji is that it looks like he is
totally unable to exist without that Didi as his consort. They seem
inseparable – period.

Nigamananda recently brought that Didi with him all the way to Berlin
sector. The idea of being there without her was apparently more than his
heart could bear. So he arranged to bring her along.

The only question left to ask: Is Dada Nigamanandji bigger than Baba’s
conduct rules? Are we to simply overlook this nasty situation?

This is definitely a matter for us to carefully consider. One of the
most pressing matters is that our senior Dada Nigamanandji seems to have
indoctrinated his favoured Didi into behaving poorly wherever she goes.
Some of her latest ventures are recounted below.

Perhaps the biggest issue of all is that Dada’s example sets a poor
precedent for younger workers. It gives them the idea that they too need
not follow the AM conduct rules as given by Baba.

HOW DIDI HAS BEEN AFFECTED

Now let’s see some of the ways the unnamed Didi has been affected.

When in Delhi sector, this Didi spends cent-per-cent of her time with
Dada Nigamanandji, or entertaining other Dadas. Because that is what
Nigamanandji taught her to do.

And now she is spreading those “teachings” in other sectors.

Didi is so attached to Dada N that in order to be with him in Berlin
sector she pretended to have work in NY sector – that was the only way
she could manage to get to Berlin sector to be with Nigamananda. Didi
pretended her time in Europe was a mere stopover before going to NY.
Hence after the Berlin DMS Didiji toured NY – and here is what she did.

Upon arriving to NY, Didiji immediately glued herself to one Dada. She
went everywhere with this Dada. Because that is what Nigamanandji
trained her to do.

So right away she and one not-to-be-named Dada traveled together alone
in a car all over the USA and then they toured through Mexico as well.
And the entire time it was just the two of them in a car and then they
were together wherever they stayed at night.

It seems Baba’s divine conduct rules were just let in the dust as this
Didi and Dada traveled together, as though they were man and wife.

Didi acted as though the whole thing was quite natural since this is
what she does with Nigamanandji when in India and in fact she was in NY
to champion his cause. So she felt very “at home” moving around with
this new Dada – always at his hip.

However, most of the margiis were very uncomfortable seeing this.
Because the whole affair was very un-sannyasi-like. It was weird to be
watching this Dada and Didi go all over the place, confiding in each
other, and sharing each and every moment together. Everyone started
whispering and wondering about them – and rightly so.

Because all margiis understand this type of behaviour is totally against
Baba’s conduct rules. Yet Didi was quite casual about the whole affair.
Some say she encourages Dadas to go against wt conduct rules – all
because she has been an ongoing victim of Nigamananda’s ways.

Thus the poor dealing that Nigamananda taught her is spreading around
the globe – luring in other persons. That is the terrible harm.

All this has very serious ramifications – which we shall discuss.

DIDI CANNOT RELATE WITH DIDIS

First, one other point that must be added: Because of the wrong teaching
delivered by Nigamanandji, his favoured Didi is unable to develop
sisterly bonds or even manage normal conversations with other Didis.
Always she feels she must be with the Dadas – entertaining them in some
way or another.

That is why when in Delhi sector or any other land, this Didi keeps her
distance from other Didis. She neither works with them, nor travels with
them, nor speaks with them, nor eats with them. She is not friends with
the Didis.

Thus her entire approach is 100% polar opposite of Baba’s mandate.

Baba says, “It should be remembered that a woman’s friend is a woman and
a man’s friend is a man.” (CC-1)

All in all the plight of this Didi is a bit sad and unfortunate – and no
doubt the brunt of the blame rests on Nigamanandji’s shoulders.

THE RAMIFICATIONS

Here are some of the harmful repercussions of Nigamananda’s actions:

1) If a leader or group controller like Nigamananda is not following
Baba’s teachings in his personal life, then it becomes the trend amongst
junior workers to follow that misguided manner as well. And that is what
we see unfolding today.

2) Nowadays, there are a growing number of wts who follow this “loose
style” of living. It has begun spreading like cancer. To remedy the
situation a plan is underway to contact all such workers involved in
sketchy or questionable dealings and give them the opportunity to
rectify their behaviour. If they do not, the only option is to bring the
matter to one and all in hopes that circumstantial pressure will help
such workers to mend their ways. The main aim is to stop the loose
behaviour – not to expose a particular worker or pool of workers.

3) The vast majority of Wts are very good. They adhere to Sixteen Points
and they know how some Wts are behaving. Indeed it sickens them to see
such things. So they know what is going on but they do not want to
openly oppose such events, like Nigamananda’s manner, because that will
only invite unbearable victimisation. So they keep quiet.

WHAT SHOULD BE DONE

While at the outset, the tactic may not be to “go public” when we see
Dadas and Didis unusually close, what we can all do is softly and gently
approach those doing wrong and ask them to rectify their behavior. They
should not become one bad example such that in their old age they lose
sight of dharma, as happened with Nigamananda. That makes for their own
degradation and sends a poor message to new and younger workers. Thus we
should all help our workers adhere to the tenets of AM – this is first
and foremost for their welfare.

BABA’S BLESSING

By Baba’s grace, we can bring our Marga back to its glory by setting an
example of pristine behaviour and inspiring or pressurizing others to do
the same. We cannot allow some Wts to slide in this way. Overlooking the
matter is not the answer, rather that only invites more problems.

Baba says, ‘Hence, all Ananda Margis, when they see other Margis acting
against the principles of yama and niyama, must make them shun this
habit either by sweet or harsh words or by dealing even more strictly.
Thus they will have to make the society strong.” (GHC)

What Every Intelligent Person Should Do

Lord Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji says, “Each and every intelligent person of
the world, everyone who has an iota of intelligence, should try to goad all
their energies, all their propensities unto Him. He is the Supreme Shelter.
There is no alternative.” (AV-3, p.33)

Note: In today’s crude capitalist society where the degenerated ways of
materialism run rampant, the common people rush head-long into negative
activities. But we Ananda Margiis must not get affected or swayed by
this mass movement– where people run without thinking and ruin
themselves. Rather as sadhakas, we should do what is intelligent. We
should be intelligent. And per Baba’s above guideline the most
intelligent people are those sadhakas direct their energies toward Him
and surrender everything unto His lotus feet.

Namaskar,
Everyone is part of our human family, irrespective of their behaviour
and actions.

Certainly we are closer to our brothers and sisters in the Marga, as by
His grace we have come together to respond to His call. Naturally there
is a greater affinity amongst Ananda Margiis.

So it is very painful to see a few workers stray from the path and steer
away from their allotted duties and dharma.

Before detailing the below, it should be made clear that the vast
majority of workers are tried and true. Our acarya cadre is a noble one,
filled with dedicated persons who have great zeal for AM ideology.

Thus the cases pointed out below represent a mere few, and by Baba’s
grace we will help them to regain their footing so they can once again
become great agents of dharma and assets to our AM society. That is the
sole point of this letter.

UNIQUE PLAY OF MAYA

The unique force we call mahamaya, or simply maya, never likes to lose
any of her subjects to the path of liberation. Thus again and again she
tries to ensnare those reaching towards mukti. Invariably, on certain
occasions, she is successful.

Such is what has happened to a few of our workers. They came with pure
intentions, and with the desire to do good, but due to circumstances and
by their vanity and indulgences, they succumbed to maya in a most
disastrous manner.

Tragically, when one is in the grip of maya, they cannot see the light
nor breathe fresh air. They are just bound in her web. So although each
and every worker has come for a very pious purpose, they can get stuck
in “less-than-stellar” activities.

The day their eyes open, they will be shocked by what has transpired –
by the hell they have been involved in. Sometimes though, their slumber
does not end during this lifetime – that is another tragedy.

So it is with heartfelt pain that I share the following. We must
remember that it is our responsibility to bring all to the proper path,
new people as well as those who have strayed (temporarily).

Even though maya may be strong, we must do our best to awaken one and all.

BABA’S DIVINE CALL

In so many avadhuta meetings, Baba would remind all workers that worldly
gratification is short-lived and not for Wts.

Baba would say: ‘You are my workers and you have come for a very
specific purpose – to wipe away the tears of suffering humanity and
spread the gospel of neohumanism. You are not ordinary, rather you are
extraordinary. You are the exception. You have not come to this world
for earthly enjoyments.’

This was the way Baba would speak in various worker and avadhuta meetings.

Still today, by His grace, Baba is holding the hand of each and every
worker. Those blinded by maya let go due to their vanity and lust. Even
then Baba is calling them back to the proper path.

We should examine these below cases, do the best we can to rectify them
and alert others lest more get bound by maya.

UNFORTUNATE CASE #1

It is a tell-tale sign when any Dada or Didi gets involved in very close
and intimate communication with one another, especially when that
communication is very regular. This first case is like that.

Dada Mahitosa’nanda and Didi Ananda Suvrata’ were involved in talking to
and texting one another quite regularly via SMS (a message from her
mobile). Such inner communications were going back and forth between
Dada and Didi.

Then one drama happened.

Some other Dadas got those very text messages into their own in-box, and
forwarded those secret communications to many, many Wts. Thus all came
to find out about the inner dealings of Dada Mahitosa’nanda and Didi
Ananda Suvrata’.

By the nature of the messages, it was quite clear that this Dada and
Didi were involved in an illicit affair. One need not be a detective to
understand that this was what was going on. So for a while, everyone was
gossiping about these two Wts.

And when Didi Ananda Suvrata’ arrived in Pundag station for a recent RDS
etc, then Dada Mahitosa’nanda drove one jeep and received her at the station. All
took this to be proof of their status together.

How far their relationship is down and dirty, that is for Dada and Didi
to admit. That is not for others to say. But by the nature of the texts,
all workers were abuzz with the goopy details of this affair.

What happened has happened and now is the time for repair. Many say that
Dada Mahitosa’nanda and Didi Ananda Suvrata’ have shame for what they
have done in which case we must help revive them. If they are shameless,
then our hands are tied and there is little we can do. In that case,
only Baba can save them.

For various reasons, some are calling this a case of five-star negativity.

UNFORTUNATE CASE #2

During seminars, DMS, or camps, Daya’shekhara’nanda always manages a
special van or train reservation with Allahabad RSL. They are like two
peas in a pod.

Plus whenevere Dadaji has to attend any function in the region travels
together with RSL together. It is not at all uncommon for Dada to hire a
special van and travel with her.

Needless to say this is most abnormal behaviour for a worker in our
Marga. In India, many Wts travel by 3rd class rail, not a hired car or
van. And it is well know that a single Dada and Didi are not to travel
together like this. It is unusual.

That is why many margiis have taken notice of this and have been talking
about it. During that past RDS, many workers were also discussing the
matter.

The main problem is that when one makes special plans like this it often
gives way to other things, and certainly indicates a type of mental
fascination.

UNFORTUNATE CASE #3

This next case involves Dada Mohansundarananda and Didi Ananda
Jyotisvarupa. Many treat this duo as boyfriend and girlfriend. You can
decide for yourself or, better yet, inquire with them as to what exactly
is going on.

However, it cannot be denied that these two have been “involved” with
one another for years and years. They are quite close and interlinked.

Their bond is so tight that when they find themselves separated by too
many kilometers then they cry out for one another.

Actually, their relationship is so old and so well known, people do not
even talk about it anymore. And often other acaryas will just mention
either Dada Mohansundarananda or Didi Ananda Jyotisvarupa in order to
refer to the both of them.

So their link is quite close. Ask them about it for more details, often
they are quite happy to talk about it.

ALL THESE THINGS ARE QUITE SERIOUS & SAD

In and of themselves, these cases are sad to see.

The mass of our Wts are sterling examples of dharma who live each day
holding onto a high ideal. And veritably, the aforementioned Wts also
came into the Marga with their sights set high.

So it is unfortunate and unnerving to hear and see such actions. We
always want our Marga to be something special, better than other
organisations etc.

Thus when any worker falls it is not just an individual affair but a
matter of collective concern.

ILLICIT AFFAIRS VS MARRIED LIFE

One thing to clarify is that there is a heaven and hell difference
between married life and an illicit affair.

In married life, there is a sense of responsibility, duty, honesty,
obligation and more. Married people are not enamoured with sex but have
a pointed ideal in life: To manage their familial and social lives and
reach their spiritual destination and inspire their family members to do
the same, all the while working for their safety and welfare.

In a phrase, at the very least, married persons are bound by the rules
of society.

In contrast, those involved in illicit affairs are sunken in sexual
lust. This applies to one having an extra-marital affair as well as to
depraved priests and missionaires, including a few of our Dadas etc.

There is no sense of commitment, dedication or integrity. It is just
indulgence, and often deceit, dishonesty, and hypocrisy as well. There
are no redeeming factors.

All Wts should be highly encourage to live up to their ideal. If any has
fallen, then seek help, call out to Baba, and follow 16 Pts. That is the
way to go.

But if really one’s mind is totally engaged with their significant
other, then that worker should give up their dress and get married.
Hovering between the two is not the way. Accepting the responsibilities
is far better than being a half-baked acarya.

Best of all is to rectify oneself fully and resume one’s duty as an
acarya of the Marga with full integrity and commitment.

THE LINEAGE OF EXCEPTIONS

Baba has detailed that the path of AM is the path of exceptions, that
includes the vast majority or even all of our workers.

To keep our Wts on the right path, Baba is adamant that there should be
no intermingling. Baba used to tell the Dadas that if the Didi’s jagrti
was burning, then let it burn, do not go and help, instead quickly tell
the margiis to come to the rescue.

The point being, no worker should get caught up in helping or developing
sentimental links across gender lines. Doing so is only to invite problem.

Unfortunately, today there are a few Dadas who spend all their time
“serving” the Didis. Such Wts spend all their time during RDS checking
in on the Didi’s camp. It is not at all good.

We must recall that Buddhism was banished from India due to the crude
mixing of their monks and nuns. The same dark fate should not meet our
Marga.

Instead we should encourage all to live the life of a sadhu, and become
an exception. That is the destiny of our wholetimers. And already most
are doing like this.

Baba says, “Most people spend their lives on this planet eating and
drinking. Sometimes they contract diseases, their stomachs become
distended, and they die. But there are certain exceptional people who
say, ‘No, we have not come to eat, drink and make merry.’ Those who lead
licentious lives foolishly get involved in brawls and fights, but the
exceptional people say, ‘No, we don’t want to live such a life.’
Missionary life was started on this planet by such people who today are
glorifying that tradition in ever increasing numbers. They alone will
make this line of exceptions even more brilliant, and will build human
history.” (AV-8)

BABA’S BLESSING

By Baba’s grace our entire acarya cadre will again glitter and shine.
Those who have fallen should get rectified. Their should be no psyhic
longing for the opposite sex, let alone physical indulgence.
Unfortunately, right now there seems to be a little bit of both in our
Marga. Today that must stop and by Baba’s grace we must become exceptional.

Baba says, “Those people who are society’s exceptions are extraordinary
people. Keeping our ideology fixed before our eyes, we must also become
exceptional people. For those people who are treading a new path, who
are constructing something new, exception is as valuable as their very
lives.” (AV-8)

devotees, it is their mandatory duty to always think that, ‘I am a machine
and the controller is Parama Purusa. He is the machine man and I have to
work according to His desire. I have to fulfill His desire. This body of
mine is a machine and it belongs to Him. This is His machine and this
machine has to do His work.’ If one constantly thinks in this way then the
vanity of action will never sprout. This is the only path to save oneself
from vanity. One has to think ‘I am just one machine; I am a tool and
according to His desire I have to work’.”
