== WHY MARRIAGES FAIL ==

~ PART 2 ~

(this is the continuation…)

DO NOT RELY ON WTS FOR MATCH-MAKING

3) It is important to remember that Dadas must NOT act as a mediator for any Ananda Marga marriage. Invariably, Dadas will give preference to the family giving them more money. So if the boy is not interested in AM and drowned in pseudo-culture, that Dada will paint a false picture and say how the boy is spirited and meticulous in 16 pts. This may not happen every time – but certainly there is scope for such issues. It has happened in the past and must be avoided in the future. And the best way to avoid this in the future is not to involve Dadas.

Besides it is not good for our wholetimers to act as matchmakers. In that process some accidentally get themselves matched up and they leave their Wt ship. This also has happened.

Thus for everyone’s well being, no Wt should be actively involved in match-making. Rather Wts should refrain from match-making entirely. That is Baba’s rule.

BEWARE OF INTEREST GROUPS

4) One should be prudent – even skeptical, about receiving advice from stakeholders – ie sometimes family margiis also carry a bias. For instance, let’s say that in their unit or bhukti, there is a girl or boy nearing 30 years of age and it is obvious that this person needs to get married soon. Then with the intention of supporting them, such people falsely praise that boy or girl up to the sky in order to attract an interested party. Under the notion of helping to marry that older boy or girl, some such people may say things that are not true. Out of sympathy they may say, “Oh he or she is very good and has always been exemplary in our community.” When in fact that is not at all true. Just they are saying like that in order to get that person married. Actually they want to help but what they are doing is not at all good. Encouraging false perceptions as will lead to a bad marriage – or the marriage may simply implode or break apart.

FINANCE

5) Finances play a big role in any household. So the boy and girl should have in-depth discussions and get to know each other’s lifestyle and views on money. Someone who wishes to live like a king or queen should not marry someone with a sadhu mentality, or vice-versa. There should be clarity on all financial matters including credit, debt, cash allowances, and so much more. The expectations on points of finance should be very clear.

CHILDREN & EDUCATION

6) One of the most defining points of any marriage is child rearing. Ahead of time – before they marry – the boy and girl should discuss how they are going to raise their children. What values will they impose? How far will they goad their child into Ananda Marga way of life? How far will they go to never compromise with dogma? The child must be brough to the path of sadhana at any early age and encouraged in this practice wholeheartedly.

Is one going to let the child play always while the other parent tries to instill a sense of discipline toward spiritual life? Is one going to let the child eat garlic while the other wishes to raise the child on a sentient diet. There are so many points of possible contention.

One must also remember that those children will one day be teenagers. Will you raise a person who will be a slave of pseudo-culture. If so, that teenager may bring meat into your kitchen, alcohol into your study, and crude, loud music into your sadhana room. If one parent emphasizes spiritual life and the other does not, there are going to be problems – many of them.

So this should be thoroughly discusses beforehand, lest you become a stranger in your own house where your own children have become like non-margiis. In that case they and your spouse will form a majority vote in your own home. If you do not educate them about our AM way of life from their infancy, this is going to happen.

NATURE OF TRANSITORY WORLD

7) Here is another critical point that the boy and girl must review. They both must be educated about, as well as discuss, how this world is transitory. The beauty they both possess today will not last forever. At any time, they may lose much of that beauty. One might contract some terrible disease like diabetes or multiple sclerosis, or get involved in a road accident etc. So many things can happen. The boy and girl should be told about how this world is transitory; they must understand the impact of this. If anyone gets married based on external beauty that marriage will fall apart. We have seen this so many times. They should discuss with one another how they will treat and regard each other when they are sick, disabled or helpless. Because, after all, their youthfulness and beauty will not last forever. Hearing and seeing this, do they still want to get married.

AM IDEOLOGY

8) The teachings of Ananda Marga have to be a central aspect of any margii marriage. Both boy and girl have to be of the mind-set that what Baba says on any given topic is the defining opinion.

It is not enough to renounce one’s caste and get married. Yes, we have to overcome all caste sentiments etc, but our AM ideology encompasses all realms of existence.

Both have to be ready to follow Baba in each and every aspect of life. So when there is any disagreement between the husband and wife, then the answer must be found in Baba’s guideline. And that must be accepted by both as final. This must be discussed ahead of time.

OATH

9) The boy and the girl should be ready to strictly follow the oath of our AM marriage: To live like Shiva and Parvatii. This should be formally written down and both the boy and girl should be educated as to what that means and then sign that piece of paper as a veritable contract. This contract must be binding on each and every AM marriage. One must be extremely careful and aware if their spouse will Ananda Marga way of life or not.

TREMENDOUS BENEFIT

By making all of the above perfectly clear between the boy and girl before marriage, then so many misnomers, false perceptions, and bogus expectations will be washed away. The mind will be clear and pointed and one can truly decide whether to marry that person or not. Or should they marry someone else. This will have tremendous benefit in both the personal lives of those who wed as well as in the greater society. People will be successful and productive in their marriages and society will not be plagued by mis-matched marriages and divorce. Mis-matched marriages are commonly looked upon as normal to others, but those involved in that marriage suffer internally and feel like an alien in their own house. Children will not be left shelterless but rather empowered by having dedicated parents who live by a spiritual ideal. Then society can truly be done in the real spirit of the term.

RESULT OF MIS-MATCHED MARRIAGE

Here Baba graphically points out the fate of those who suffer from mismatched marriages.

Baba says, “The wife of a certain gentleman that I knew was quite ill-mannered. One winter evening I saw this gentleman sitting quietly at the foot of a tree. I asked him: “Why are you sitting under this tree on a winter evening? You’ll freeze.” He replied: “You know, my young friend, if I go in the house I’ll hear only khankhan jhanhan [unpleasant and disturbing sounds]. It’s a lot more peaceful out here.” (Varna Vijiana, Disc: 19)

BABA’S BLESSING

By Baba’s grace He has given the perfect system for building a great human society. Marriage is one of the key elements. Every marriage within the Marga should be done only after thoughtful consideration. All should be very aware of what marriage means and they should know who they are marrying.

Baba says, “[Shiva] declared that women must be kalatra, which means that women must discharge their obligations to their husbands and their children in such a way that the latter will not have the least difficulty. Those who accepted this new arrangement were declared married…The Sanskrit equivalent for marriage is viváha (vi – vaha + ghaiṋ): it means, after the ceremonially, the man and women can no longer live as libertines or as irresponsible so-called family people. They have to discharge their full obligations as bharttá and kalatra, responsible husband and responsible wife…The liberal meaning of the term viváha is “live one’s life in a new way with a special type of responsibility.” This is the underlying significance of the Shaeva system of marriage.” (NSS, Disc: 9. Shivokti 3)

Namaskar,
Manindra

Note 1: NOT A JUSTIFIED CLAIM

After reading the above, some may complain that now no one will want to get married. They will argue that there are to many stipulations and it is an impossible endeavor. But theirs is not a well-reasoned approach.

We have to remember that when drugs were initially given as medicine then the side effects were never listed and patients were getting harmed. Finally the government intervened and demanded that all medical side effects must be stated. After this judgment, some were concerned that no one will take those medicines if companies are forced to list the side effects. Yet here we are years and decades later, and people still take those medicines and they are aware about the side effects so they can protect themselves. The end result is positive.

Similarly, if people are aware ahead of time about the difficulties of married life, they will be better off. Then they can properly prepare for getting married and select the right spouse and create an ideal family.

Finally, the main idea is that the entire institution of marriage cannot be stopped. It has been going on for thousands of years. It satisfies a basic human need. Thus listing the pitfalls of marriage is not going to deter anyone from getting married. Only it will fortify them with the requisite knowledge to make an educated decision.

Note 2: NEGATIVE INFLUENCE

After all, we are living in a materialistic society, so what is going on all around affects us. Not only that, we live in world that is dominated by gross materialism where “love” marriages are the norm. Two people get attracted – give in to sensual desires – and then divorce when any problem comes or difficulty arises. Or they leave one another when their become infatuated with someone else.

We must not allow this disease to affect our Ananda Marg away of life. Rather we are to positively affect the greater society.

Note 3: WRITE IN WITH YOUR SUGGESTIONS

This is an ongoing discussion so please write in with your thoughts and suggestions.

Baba
“Tumi yadi bha’lo ba’so keno na’hi a’so ka’che…” (PS 3039)

Purport:

Baba, by Your grace, I have so much love for You. If You love me then why don’t You come close. Baba, please come in the depths of my heart– I am calling You. O’ Divine Entity, why are You smiling from a distance in Your extremely charming and captivating form. Why are You not coming close so I can hold You tightly and make You mine.

O’ my Dearmost, I have been waiting with great anticipation for Your arrival, but, alas, You are remaining far away– beyond my reach. Baba, in the disappointment and sadness of Your not coming, in that hopelessness the braids in my hair have become loose and fallen. My exquisitely threaded flower garland which I made exclusively for You has become dried up and fallen to the ground, on the dusty floor. O’ Rupamaya [1], O’ Divine Entity, with the tears pouring from my coloured eyes, everything in this expressed universe is floating away.
Baba, I have heard that You remember everything and that You never forget anything; I have heard that You keep everyone in Your mind, always. All are Your very close. O’ Divine One, at last You have satisfied my heart. By Your grace, You have come to me in the madhavii garden and saturated each & every pore of my mind with Your heavenly sweetness. Baba, You have graciously filled my heart with Your love; You have showered Your grace and made me Yours…

NOTES FOR PRABHAT SAMGIITA 3039:

[1] Rupamaya: [‘Rup’ means ‘form’ and ‘may’ means ‘consisting of’.] This is one of the innumerable names of Parama Purusa that describes one of His infinite qualities: Namely, how He has graciously come in the form. By His wish He has manifested Himself and come in His charming form. That is why one of the names of Parama Purusa is Rupamaya.

== WHY MARRIAGES FAIL ==

~ PART 1 ~

Namaskar,
Recently, on one rainy dark lunar midnight, a dear friend of mine came to my house in that pitch darkness and knocked on the door. I was surprised he had come but after hearing his voice I brought him inside.
He was visibly shaken – nervous, upset, and worried. We talked at length. I found out that his wife had beat him. She returned from a friend’s wedding reception where she ate some tamasik food. It was quite apparent as onion small was emanating from her mouth. The husband objected. Then they started quarreling. Ultimately he overreacted and verbally accosted her. In his fury he called her nasty names. In turn, she hit him & beat him. He ran away to save his own life. Don’t be surprised. But she was a certified karate teacher.
For reasons of privacy we shall refer to the husband as Prakash and the wife as Renu.
Prakash and I talked for hours that night. I calmed him down. Though I was shocked & surprised to hear since the inception of their marriage they have been quarreling on multiple issues.
This was very astonishing to me because I always thought of theirs as an ideal marriage. I did not realise what was going on behind the scenes. All along I had been telling everyone that this marriage was successful. But now look what happened.
Just to give you a little background, Prakash and Renu were married at DMS – it happened quickly and was nearly forced on them. I also found out that Renu’s father gave Dadas a “contribution” of RS 50,000 to arrange the marriage and perform the ceremony. In this way Prakash was bound. In addition those Dadas praised Renu. But although her parents are good margiis it became clear that Renu herself wanted nothing to do with Ananda Marga.
Before this, it was known that she would eat tamasik food: onion, garlic, meat & eggs when she was with her friends in town. She would eat those things outside the house – but never bringing it into her own kitchen.
Anyway, that night when Prakash reached to my house, I clearly understood that they were living in hell. Externally it looked exemplary – but the reality was something quite different.
By this whole story my mind was blown away.
I tried to communicate with other margiis- near and far – about such matters and found that similar things were going on in many cases, but not most. I synthesized all the info and present these points to you to help ensure that such episodes do not happen again & again. Before the boy and girl even marry, something needs to be done to ensure that a mismatched marriage is averted in the future.
OVERVIEW
Marriage is such an important aspect of our Ananda Marga way of life. Family life plays a critical role on many societal levels so it is important that our Ananda Marga marriages be healthy, vibrant and strong.
However, in our Marga cases do arise where the marriage does not go well. In the case of Prakash and Renu – although they belonged to margiis families and their parents were strong margiis – but as a married couple they did not match. They had different life goals. If they knew this ahead of time they would not have married one another. They married because their parents were margiis, not because they had a shared life vision. They hardly knew each other and Dadas and others were just painting a rosy picture by talking only positives. No one talked about the negative side. If they had known more about each other they would not have married.
This letter contains key guidelines and recommendations for ensuring two people in Ananda Marga have the best opportunity for a proper marriage. Everyone, especially parents and those seeking to get married, should be aware of these following points.
ANANDA MARGA:
MARRIAGE IS FOR SOCIETY BUILDING
As we all know – first and foremost – our AM marriage system is purely for society building. AM marriages are for creating a healthy, safe, and inspired environment for raising children in a conscientious manner. The married couple should be confident and ready to contribute to the all around growth of society: individually & collectively, locally & globally etc. Marriage in AM means commitment to one another and strict adherence to AM ideals. It is a unique system; this type of universal outlook is not formed in any other marriage system. They must build a proper unit family and embrace the greater universal family. This is our ideal.
It is in no way related with Hindu ritualistic marriages, western materialistic marriages, or any other “marriage system” from around the world. Nor do we follow or appreciate the new western model of “co-habitating” without marriage and living as a libertine. In all such cases, marriages are either base on external beauty, infatuation, money, post or social status, local or religious dogmas. These are the main allurements and aims most of the time.
POINTS EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW
The following are points all should be aware of when considering marriage – either their own marriage, or a marriage of a family member or friend.
LIFELONG COMMITMENT
1. Those getting married must firmly know in their mind that an AM marriage is a lifelong commitment to one another for society building. The main idea is for both to take care of their progeny and make their children into bonafide members of society. There is no other outlook than this.
THE BOY AND GIRL MUST TALK AT LENGTH
2. The two young people – the future husband and wife – must get ample scope to talk beforehand. They must get the opportunity to get to know one another and decide for themselves if this is a good match. Here it should be clarified that “getting to know one another” does not mean dating or being boyfriend and girlfriend. The boy and girl can get to know one another in a neutral setting. We can all think and decide what that setting should be. It should be supervised, safe, yet private enough that they can talk freely.

a) They should talk about their goals and aims of life. They should frankly discuss what they want. It is not that the parents should decide if this is a good match. They should critically evaluate if they share a similar outlook.

b) The boy and girl should discuss things as basic as: Who will hold an outside job? Who will cook? Who will raise the children? Where will we live? All these basic existential points should be discussed as far as possible. Nothing should be left to assumption; one must not rely on preconceived notions. They both should openly and clearly review and compare their vision for how their life will progress.
Unfortunately, all too often these things are not discussed and in result there is much confusion and disappointment after marrying. What happens next is separation, marriage breaking or even divorce.
Last year, two people married with the false expectation that the other would do all the cooking and cleaning, etc. Both the husband and wife work outside the home and neither wants to attend to any domestic duties. Hence their marriage became a mess because they had the wrong impression from the outset. Today, both of their families are involved daylong in settling their marital disputes.
This is what happens when such matters are not discussed ahead of time.
c) The boy and girl should also talk about their likes and dislikes. Firstly, they should talk about their role in Ananda Marga and their devotional link with Guru. If one is very involved in AM and is attracted to sadhana and the other is from a margii family but has zero interest in AM, then that marriage is not going to work. So the boy and girl must sincerely talk about their social and spiritual commitment to AM ideals and Baba.
I know one margii family where the husband is somewhat dogmatic but the wife wishes to sincerely practice AM teachings. The husband attends AM programs as well as other dogmatic religious gatherings and he tries to force his wife to come to those as well. But she does not like to attend local religious events. This has become a source of tension and strife.
There are some margii marriages where the husband is very sincere in 16 Pts and other do’s and don’ts,  but the wife has other interests and ways of living. So she raised the children in her own way, different from Ananda Marga. In result, the husband has become a stranger in his own house. Sometimes when he wishes to sing kiirtain out loud, but with fear he does not do. He wants a home based on AM socio-cum-spiritual ideals, but something else is going on. If any margii visits, then the wife is not at all happy.
d) Next they should talk about their own personal likes and dislikes related with everyday life – everything: music, sports, literature, food, movies, friendships, cars, exercise, reading, college or university studies, habits, and so much more. They should get a full picture of one another.
e) As far as possible, the boy and girl should get a clear cut vision of each other’s mental outlook. Without that, they definitely should not marry.

Baba

“Vinati ja’i kare tava caran’ dhare…” (P.S. 3687)

Purport:

Baba with folded hands I go on requesting You again and again holding
Your lotus feet that: Please come to my home. Please grace me again and
again. Baba, You have countless abodes to go visit or stay that may be
according to Your liking; even then You should not forget that this
little hut of mine is Your creation. Baba I always dance in Your rhythm
and sing in Your melody, in Your tune. I feel that You are the tune,
melody, and lyrics– everything. I play Your viina.

I am Yours, and everyone is Yours. Your divine play is our world. What
way You play Your liila, that is my entire existence. I am always
ensconced in Your ideation, in Your dhyan. I always speak and sing Your
ideology, Your tales, Your teachings. I move accordingly by Your grace.

Baba, when You play Your flute, with that attraction You pull me close
to You. And that is my vital energy for forward movement. Baba You are
the base of everything. You are the quintessence. Your glory is
unfathomable which cannot be expressed. You are everyone’s soul–
everyone’s heart. Baba with my folded hands I do sastaunga pranam that
You please come to my little hut. Please grace me…

== MAIN REASON OF THEIR DEATH ==

Namaskar,
With each and every passing day it becomes more and more clear that we
are at the height of this vaeshyan era. The situation is almost over the
top. But we are not there yet, still tougher times lay ahead.

We are seeing its final series of pulsations as it unsuccessfully tries
to rescue itself before its final death.

Unfortunately, this spells trouble for the common people. Not just
ordinary trouble, but the deep-seeded type of trouble, or sheer
desperation, which leads one to the brink of suicide, or even suicide
itself.

Everyone wants happiness, that is what every human being is searching
for. And when they lose all hope in getting it, then thoughts of
self-destruction arise.

Tragically, this is the phase we witnessing now in this present era.
Because of the inherent defects of capitalism people are falling into
this chasm.

Every day this or that report comes on the news how such and such
billionaire has killed himself or how an ordinary person who lost their
home due to foreclosure committed suicide. This is the horrible reality.

As Ananda Margiis it is our duty to understand the deeper nature of the
problem, avert that dark whole ourselves, and help others come onto safe
and stable ground.

TWO ROOT CAUSES

There are two root causes of the recent rash of suicide cases: (1)
Improper goal, and (2) isolation.

Both are part of the inherent defects of capitalism.

In capitalism people get enslaved into materialism and they think that
crude objects and money are the goal. Their entire existence gets
painted and shaped in that color. They think that is everything: Their
job, their prestige, their house, their car, their whole way of life.
And when that is jeopardised or lost, then they think everything is gone
and there is no reason to live. That is one of the main causes of
extreme desperation and suicide these days.

The second cause is also due to capitalism. Selfishness is direct result
of capitalism. People are taught to satisfy and indulge themselves, and
not worry about the plight of others. This brings isolation such as in
the US where the family system has broken down and where people live
more and more unto themselves and interact with others less. Computer
games and blogging– and the pursuit of owns own selfish desires– have
taken the place of friendship and community. In that case, when tough
times arise, there is no one to turn to for help and support.
Desperation then multiplies and suicides can result.

NOT A QUESTION OF RICH OR POOR

IT ALL DEPENDS ON THE GOAL

Here we should remember that the problem does not only strike those who
are rich or those or are poor. The amount of wealth is not the operating
factor. There are some poor people who have lost their homes due to a
typhoon or unemployment and mentally they are alright; and there are
some poor people who have lost their homes due to economic woes and they
are totally distraught and stricken with thoughts of suicide.

The same variation can occur with the wealthy. Some may lose their
wealth and be able to cope and some lose their wealth and can only think
of ending their lives.

So the root cause is not one’s economic status or social status. The
main cause is harboring a mundane ideal as the goal of life. If one
thinks their house or car or wife is everything– no matter the size,
cost, or beauty of that thing– then if and when what disappears from
their life, one becomes prone to extreme desperation and even suicide.

That is why a person who lost their house in the US is far more prone
to suicide than someone of the same economic means who lost their house
in Bhutan or Indonesia. Because the US is far more materialistic and its
citizens feel that the value of their life is tied up with material
things. That is the common way of thinking.

Hence today, with all the economic woes – i.e. when the carpet has been
pulled out from everyone – then there is so much cause for concern,
especially in western, materialistic countries like the US.

Because knowingly or unknowingly millions and millions of people have
been focusing on material wealth as the goal of their life. And with
that gone, a crisis like a rash of suicides can occur– and indeed
we are now seeing this horrible trend.

So we should all be aware and sincerely ask ourselves how far
materialistic interests have crept into our mental framework.

LIFE IS SYSTALTIC – COMMUNITY HELPS

Let’s revisit the other side of this equation.

As we know life is systaltic: It goes up and down. Sometimes one is
happy and sometimes sad. Often, it is friends and family who help us
through difficult times.

So in a materialistic era, when people view money and material wealth as
the crowning jewel or goal of life, and when economic woes are
everywhere, then naturally one will be in a time of trouble and difficulty.

Now here is where the other part of the problem strikes.

In places where extreme materialism is in vogue, like the US, then
because of the very self-centered attitude, many of the social
conventions and safety nets are gone. Friends and family have been
alienated and one may feel alone.

And then when there is an utter dearth of social programs from the
government side, then people will really feel helpless, as if there is
not a hope in sight. At that point, feelings of suicide will swirl in
the mind.

CAPITALISM IS BAD ON SO MANY LEVELS

When the economy is down, as it is now, then we can really see the
horrific effects of capitalism. Capitalism is not just a harmful
economic approach, it is a way of life that railroad people’s lives into
dust. Their minds become saturated in a materialistic outlook and they
lose touch with family and friends. In a phrase, materialism and
selfishness destroy the whole human personality. In that case, when the
tidal wave of economic woes erupt, then people feel that their whole
world has come crashing down and they have nowhere to turn. That is why
capitalism is an agent of suicide.

And that is why Baba harshly warns us off the ill effects of
materialistic philosophies like capitalism.

Baba says, “Materialism is the most dangerous – indeed, suicidal –
philosophy.” (NSS)

Tragically, that is the fate many will face, if they do shift their goal
away from the material venues like property, cars, retirement accounts,
stock options, etc

EVERYONE MUST BE ALERT

We should all be vigilant to ensure that we are not depending on
physical or mobile things as our goal. Because when those slip away, one
will feel sad, hopeless, and ultimately shelterless and depressed. That
is when suicide feelings begin.

Although materialism is everywhere, we must rise above it and keep our
spiritual aim in mind. That is the only path of our survival and
success. Being a materialist is not based on how much one owns but
rather what one values in life.

We should all ensure that the Supreme Goal is what we most treasure and
not any fleeting thing of this world like prestige, wealth, etc. Even in
AM, we sometimes see how lust of post is a reflection of one’s
materialistic bent of mind. For that they can kill others or even
themselves. So this disease of materialism is rampant and those who
follow it will not be spared.

We should all be alert and help awaken others also.

BABA’S BLESSING

By Baba’s grace only the God-centered approach of Prout can save the
people from the poison of materialism. As Ananda Margiis, we have to
propagate His ideals and show the people that there is more to life than
materialistic pursuits. And by His grace society is already hungry and
thirsty for something more. So it is the ideal time to propagate
spirituality and Prout and bring relief to the people, lest they fall
prey to the illes of capitalism like suicide.

Baba says, “Both capitalism andhave failed to provide the proper
ideological inspiration and desideratum to human beings. In the
interests of the welfare of humanity, these systems should be replaced.
PROUT is against the exploitation by capitalism and the false dogma of
communism as both are detrimental to the all-round progress of human
beings…When the crimson sun is reflected on our faces we should
understand that the entire day is ours. Victory will be ours.” (PNS-15)

Namaskar,
Karma Rasa

*************************************************
Allopathic Medicines Not Good

Baba says, “When people take allopathic medicine to cure a disease, the
medicine disturbs the ecological balance of the body because more
negative microvita get concentrated at the point of the disease.
Allopathic medicines do not kill diseases — diseases die by their own
natural death. Although the medicine may check the disease, the
increased concentration of negative microvita can overcome the effect of
the medicine. In fact, the increased concentration of negative microvita
caused by allopathic medicines creates many new types of diseases, and
due to this, two or three new diseases are presently being created every
decade. So what is the solution to this problem? Our approach should be
two fold– external and internal. Externally we should take medicines to
check diseases, but internally we should perform spiritual practice.”
(MVNS, p.136)

Baba

“Tumi bhuliya’ giya’cho a’ma’re…” (Prabhat Samgiita 4102)

Purport:

Baba, You always hold me in Your heart. That is why it is so painful
that now You have forgotten me. All my efforts are going in vain:
Singing Prabhat Samgiita according to the tune and melody, crying in
yearning for You and looking towards the path of Your arrival, and also
trying to hold You in my ideation, meditation, and dhyana. All these
efforts are getting wasted. Because You have forgotten me. That is why
You are not paying any heed to my efforts.

O’ Prabhu, by Your grace I never forget You. Because Your
introduction is my introduction, then how I can forget You. By Your
wee-bit of grace all the time– every moment–  I am always floating. My
whole existence is depending upon Your karuna, divine compassion.

Baba, age after age– what type of liila is this that are You are
playing with this meagre entity like myself. In Your divine liila my
role is to always get neglected by You. This has been going on since
ages; You never cared about me. Baba, You do not love me.     Baba, all
the time, in the dawn, morning, midday, evening, You go on playing hide
and seek with me. Why this type of divine play. Baba please come in my
heart…

== TASMAD DHARMA SADAKARYAH ==

Namaskar,
In this critical period when the leadership is so helter-skelter, here
is something that will surely keep us sadhakas on track– simultaneously
creating a proper collective flow.

ONE OF BABA’S SIGNIFICANT GUIDELINES

Baba says: “If human beings do not keep company with righteous people,
or do not study holy books, if their minds are not saturated with love
for the Supreme Entity, then this group of enemy microvita infests their
minds. Ultimately, the structure of those minds is crudified, and
through dogma, reaches the nadir point of crudification.” (MVNS, p. 15-16)

We should follow this above quote of Baba. It is the duty of each and
every disciple of Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji to observe HIS guideline.

MUST ALWAYS FOLLOW DHARMA

In my life, I have experienced that in the beginning I often find it
difficult to follow many of the rules of dharma (16 Pts etc). But good
margiis friends and my acarya have told me again and again that on the
point of dharma we should not try to find some excuse why not to follow,
but rather the mentality should be to follow and adhere to all the rules
even more strictly. This should be our approach. That is the guidance I
have continually received by Baba’s grace.

So since then I have tried to follow all the aspects of 16 Points.
Because they were also telling that in one of His discourses, Baba
guides us that even in our jokes and humour we should not move a single
step away from the path of dharma.

BABA’S UNIQUE TEACHING ON GREATNESS IN LIFE

Similarly, in one of the discourses which Baba has given during the
Bhukti Pradhan reporting in Tiljala, Calcutta, then Baba told that many
persons think, ‘I will do something great when dharma and adharma fight
will start, like Mahabharata’. But in their regular day to day life
these same persons do not care. They think, ‘When Mahabharat types of
battles happen, then I will support dharma. Otherwise when involved in
simple things in day to day life, then I need not to take trouble’.

The point being that if one does not follow dharma all the time then one
can never follow dharma. That is Baba’s warning.

Furthermore Baba guides us that in the lives of most human beings, such
great battles of dharma never happen. Means most people never get the
opportunity to participate in such types of battles. Rather in their
life only 2 major things happen. One is the moment of their birth and
other is the time of their death. Beyond that not much else happens. And
at those two important times it is hard to perform great deeds. Because
at the time of one’s birth, one is just a baby & thus incapable of doing
anything. Likewise, at the at the time of death one is old and feeble,
in which case it is very difficult to manage.

So the essence of Baba’s teaching is that we human beings should follow
the principle of dharma all the time. At every opportunity, small or big.

DHARMA IS THE FLOW OF LIFE

Baba says, one must have to follow dharma all the 24hrs.

Sutra 2-7: ‘Tasmaddharmah Sadakaryah.’
Meaning: “Dharma should always be practiced.”
IN THIS PRESENT ERA THE MENTAL MIRROR OF DHARMA IS NEEDED

Now, at this present moment, is the delicate time when a couple simple
margiis are getting confused about what to do and what not to do. In
that case they are getting misguided by one or another group or subgroup
etc, and in that way they end up getting misled. So this is a very
delicate time.

Thus we should strive hard to follow Baba’s above teaching: In every
moment in our day to day life we have to follow dharma. Then only will
the mind will be serene and pure. In which case internally one’s own
inner vivek (conscience) will develop more and more such that one will
be able to see with pristine clarity what is to be done.

Otherwise people get confused again and again and get permanently caught
up in the negative track. Because always one or another sub-group
faction will try to convince you that their way is best.

So to avoid that poor outcome, it is needed in one’s practical,
day-to-day life to adhere to dharma in all regards, on all the points–
including all the simple things. In each and every sphere dharma should
be upheld.

Only then will the proper guideline always get reflected in the mind, in
which case one will not go astray. Otherwise this time is very delicate;
this is the crucial time when a lot of problems are coming on this
globe. Various types of natural calamities, severe types of economic
problems, political problems– all these things are coming.

SIXTEEN POINTS IS THE ANSWER

So whom to support, what to do, what not to do, all these decisions &
answers do not come until one does not follow dharma strictly– in their
everyday practical life. And that means following 16 Points. And when
one does that, then the direct guidelines of dharma will come from
within. And the right answer will always be found. This is Baba’s
expressed guideline.

By Baba’s grace those who are following dharma, they never get misled or
defeated. That is the key point. Thus in one’s practical life one should
follow dharma. And then the grace of Parma Purusa, the grace of Baba
will be there. And one will always be victorious in each and every step
of life. All this Baba has told in numerous discourses.

BABA’S BLESSING

Baba says, “Marching ahead is Jiivan Dharma (the characteristic wont of
life). And to march ahead, carrying all, viewing the world humanity as
an integral entity, is the principal aspect of Jiivan Dharma. Resolve
courageously to observe this Jiivan Dharma. Remember:

‘Yato Dharmah tato istah, yato istah tato jayah.’

“Where there is Dharma, there is Ista (Baba) and where there is Ista, there is Victory.” (AV #43)

Namaskar,
Phanindra

NOTE: MORE OF BABA’S ETERNAL TEACHINGS ON DHARMA

Here following are a few more of Baba’s divine guidelines about dharma:

(A) Baba says, “Only dharma accompanies you even after death. None but
dharma is suhrd (Eternal Friend).”

‘Eka eva suhrd dharma nidhane api anuyati yah’
“Dharma alone is suhrd and remains with one till the end.” (AV-5)

(B) Baba says, “Dharma raks’ati raks’itah– one who protects dharma is
protected by dharma. Dharma saves the dha’rmika, the upholder of dharma,
in the material sphere, in the subtle sphere and in the casual sphere.
When dharma saves people in the material sphere, they experience it
before their very eyes, they hear it with their ears, they feel it with
the tenderness of touch. When dharma helps them in the causal sphere,
they experience it by loving Parama Purusa with all the sweetness of
their hearts. This feeling has no external expression. When dharma saves
people in the subtle sphere, they experience it through deep
reflection.” (Shivokti 11)

(C) Here Baba reveals how dharma works secretly.

Baba says, “With the increasing development of the power of reflection,
dharmik people realize that dharma is always with them in a very subtle
way. They further realize that their dharma and their beloved Parama
Purusa are one and inseparable.”

‘Dharmasya su’ks’ ma’ gatih’
Meaning: “The ways of dharma are very subtle.” (NSS, ’95 Edn, p.156)

(D) Here Baba guides us that dharma is the essence of life.

‘Dhriyate dharma itya’huh sa eva paramam’ prabhu’
Meaning: “Dharma is that which sustains.”

Baba says, “The seed of humanity cannot sprout and flourish unless it is
planted in the soil of dharma. To diverge from the path of dharma means
to rush headlong towards total annihilation. In all one’s actions one
should keep Parama Purus’a as the goal, and be well established in
dharma.” (APH-8)

******************************************
MAMMALS AND LOVE

Baba says, “There are fishes who carry something like a sack inside
their bodies and they carry their children in those sacks. There are
some snakes who also take their children with them. Not only have they
inborn instinct, but they have something more, that is, they have love
and affection for their children. This is also true of some species of
snakes, but love and affection for their children is more prominent in
mammals. Mammals are more developed than non-mammals because in the case
of mammals mothers feed the children with their breast-milk and
certainly they have got affection for their children — that is why they
do so.” (YP ’98, Edn, p.83)

Note: Mothers of financially poorer countries keep their babies along
with them and breast-feed their infants. But the case is different with
so-called advanced mothers from around the globe– especially in the
so-called developed nations. In those so-called developed places,
neither do those mothers want to breast-feed their infants nor do they
want to keep their infants along with them.

So in comparison to those animals we have to see how far the whole
situation is working. Because those mammals and animals do love and care
for their offspring; accordingly, then humans are more advanced so they
should express more love. And mothers of poor countries do like that.
But the strange thing is that mothers from the so-called advanced
countries…

With the scale of Baba’s above teaching, we have to judge whether such
mothers are really developed or moving in the opposite direction.

Baba

“Kenoi va’ ele, dola’ diye gele, na’ bale gele cale, phele a’ma’y…” (PS
1995)

Purport:

Baba, You have been gone so long, why did You come and stir my heart
only to then go away without saying a word– thereby leaving me all alone.
Baba, neither do You have any love for me nor do You understand the aching
pain of my heart. Baba, after coming and reciting one fairy tale, where did
You go. Baba, I want You to remain here with me.
Baba, amongst all the dear ones, You are my dearmost. Why then do You
not reside eternally in my heart. Baba, You are my dearmost and innermost,
then how can You justify going so far away from me. Is it proper to leave
me isolated and all alone. Please tell me.
Baba, You are so dear to me, no matter what I will never forget You;
Baba, I will never leave You. Not at any cost will I ever wipe You away
from my mental plate– from the memories of my mind. That I will never do.
Baba, even if You do not desire to remain with me– even if You want to
hide– I shall always keep You in the golden casket of my heart.
Baba, You are eternally mine; my everything is surrendered at Your lotus
feet…

== ALL SHOULD KNOW ==

Namaskar,
Here below is one important issue that is related with the welfare of the
entire society. The topic at hand revolves around the various phases of
life and in particular the potential challenges of mid-life issues. By
being aware of the ins and outs then we can not only internalise points
related with our own lives but also be prepared to guide others as well.

KNOWING AHEAD OF TIME IS BETTER

If we are aware about the aforesaid issue– which revolves around human
sexuality– earlier, then we can better prevent any mishap.

Because…

When any threatening situation happens in an unannounced way, then people
are more scared and they do not know what to do. But when they are
fore-warned and made aware that an incident it is going to happen, then
with their know-how and talent and by various other ways they find some
solution how to solve the problem.

It is just like if suddenly an air attacks happens then the common people
become more scared and mayhem results. But if told ahead of time about the
air strike then they will manage far, far better.

Or if one cyclone bursts out all of a sudden then more people get injured
than if all were warned ahead of time that a cyclone is going to come. The
point is that knowing the problem beforehand makes it more easy to solve
that.

So when we know that this problem of middle age crisis and psychic disease
is going to affect people between the age of 45-55, if they are not
pointedly  focused in spiritual life, then this information should be
shared with one and all. Because if others are alerted about this then they
can properly face & overcome the situation and it can properly be resolved
in their life.

Thus it is in this spirit of prevention that this discussion has been
raised in this whole entire email message. To bring awareness to the
matter. People should know and write their own experiences and opinions and
ways to solve this matter.

And we should also remember that according to Baba’s teaching, the answer
of all problems exists within Parama Purusa. So if one surrenders at His
alter, then any problem can easily be solved.

EBBS AND FLOW OF HUMAN EXISTENCE

FREEDOM IN HUMAN LIFE

Human life is full of ups and downs. And in the life of sadhakas the
exhaustion of samskaras happens quickly in comparison to non-margiis. For
this reason negative and positive experiences come and go in quick
succession. Sometimes mountainous problems come and at other times life is
smooth and easy.

In comparison to animals, human beings have a lot of freedom. But that
freedom is of a certain dominion; it has certain limitations. For example
suppose one animal is tied up with a rope that is 50 feet in length and one
end is securely rooted in the ground. Then within that parameter of 50 feet
the animal can move freely, eat grass, and basically do whatever it likes.
The sense is that it is free up to that extent– up to the length of that
50 foot rope. But beyond that it cannot go.

Similar is the case of human beings. Although it looks like human beings
are entirely free to do whatever they like, but in reality it is not like
that. So many things human beings plan and dream, but all do not get to
come to fruition. Problems can come anytime and disturb and interrupt their
planning. And top of all, no human being can avert their own death. Nobody
likes to think about their own death; but death will come to everyone.
Nobody has control over that.

So in some ways human beings have freedom and in other ways not. It is tied
up and the bound with the serpentine noose of the Cosmic Operative
Principle, Maya.

INBORN INSTINCTS

We see that when children are small then only their inborn instincts
function. That means for infants they are guided purely by instinct and
that is reflected in their actions. That is why just after birth they know
how to suck the mothers milk. And when they grow up then, according to
their maturity, other types of glands start functioning.

And at the time of adolescence people’s sex glands also develop. And the
sexual urge tries to pull them in a particular direction. But when that
same person was an infant then that instinct was in its dormant stage. So
the young child had no problem from that side. This then is one example how
according to age, various glands and sub-glands start functioning. And it
also happens that after a certain age those glands and their correlating
instincts gradually become defunct.

THE WAYS OF PRAKRTI

So when nature orders for the sex instinct to develop, then the desire of
procreation comes in the mind. This is one way of functioning of that
creative principle (prakrti), which has bound up this entire universe.

‘Pra karoti yah sah prakrti’

Prakrti creates various colorful things. That is why its name is ‘creative
principle’.

We see that in animals and plants and in all kinds of creatures on this
earth, this procreation system has been going on and on since millions of
years. So the old are moving towards death and simultaneously side by side
new babies are born. It is the same story in each and every aspect of
creation.  So changes are always going on, always people are passing from
one stage to the next.

In human life one of the most delicate times is during adolescence. Because
when the sex instincts come to function then the cosmic operative principle
inspires that being to create more and more. And in this way it maintains
this cosmic cycle of creation, or srsti.

And as human beings grow older then this instinct of procreation gets
controlled to some degree. But in human life, in addition to the period of
adolescence, there is a second time when the sexual urge again starts
dominating, and that happens when humans are going to lose their capacity–
during the ‘mid-life crisis’.

The reason behind this is that the creative principle wants to create more
and more. And wants to ensure that it gets maximum output from each and
every created being. So it infuses the idea in the mind of those human
beings who are on the verge of losing their sexual capacity that they
should produce more before they lose their capacity entirely.

This stage is like one master who has many slaves but if he knows that soon
one of the slaves will be set free then the master will try to utilise that
slave more and more and get maximum output from him before he gets freedom.

The solution is that if one follows spiritual life then the mind will be
serene & positive then the ghastly effect of sex will not be problematic
for that sadhaka. Whereas those not leading devotional life or Margii life
then they get caught up in the noose of maya and they do many nonsense
things.

The whole point is that Maya wants to keep the jiivas in her control.
That is why Baba says that there is no other way than to get rid from maya,
other than surrendering to Parama Purusa. This maya is insurmountable:

‘Daevihyes’a’ gun’amayii mama ma’ya’ du’ratyaya’
Ma’meva ye prapadyante ma’ya’meta’m’ tarantite’

Meaning: “My Divine Maya, the Supreme Maya or the Cosmic Force is comprised of three attributes. Ordinarily it is very difficult to transgress it but only those
who merge themselves in Me or take refuge in Me can transcend Prakrti.”
(BABA)

SPECIAL DECLARATION

Here following Baba is making one special declaration.

Baba says, “Metamorphosis is taking place not only in the realm of
physicality but also in the realm of psychic structure. Changes are fast
coming in the psychic arena and in all the realms of human expression. They
are not only coming, they have just come. We have crossed the threshold of
a new era.” (PNS-17, p.56)

Namaskar,
Mahendra

Now please read these notes below. They all are connected with this middle
age syndrome. Such as who experiences it, how margiis manage the situation,
and what is the stand of AM on this point. All this and more are talked
about in the notes below. Everyone should also express their own opinions
on this important issue.

Note 1: WHEN, WHO, & HOW

It is the common phenomenon viewed all around that sex oriented problems
mostly come to those non-sadhakas during two critical phases in the life:
during puberty and in mid-life when people are around 50 years of age.
In those communities where humans beings are more extroverted they get
seriously affected by this psychic disease. Just like we see in adolescence
that many become uncontrollable but then later on after that age passes
they become alright. But those who are spiritually minded and focused in
sadhana do not undergo these difficulties, not even in adolescence.
But in general people know that this is the problem of that difficult age
of adolescence when that particular instinct just appeared in that person’s
life. And everyone also understand that this problem is going to get solved
in some or more degree.

And such a similar problem also comes between the age of 45-55, more so in
males and very seldom in females. In persons of that age the sex glands
become more active. The worst case happens when someone has lived their
whole life in a crude way then when that male reaches the age of 45 or so,
the they become more crude, uncontrollable. That is why we see that even
when people have superficially ok marital relations with their spouse, even
then those relations get ruined. And they get divorced because the husband
gets completely infatuated with another member of opposite sex. That is the
main problem which occurs. And then in some few cases the wife may
sometimes fall– but usually not, or at least less so. So when these types
of things happen, in that case everything gets ruined: their family, their
marriage, their children, it all gets ruined.

Those involved in pointed spiritual life do not suffer from these things.
Otherwise lackadaisical sadhakas and especially non-margiis experience a
lot of problems.

No doubt the vast majority of our western / European society is more
extroverted in comparison to many of the so-called 3rd world countries. So
naturally then they face it more If however one is pointed in sadhana then
they will be alright. But otherwise those living in extroverted communities
or if one has that desire then this problem of uncontrolled sexuality is
more commonly seen– indeed so many people are affected in this way. It is
very, very common in non-margiis but also not uncommon in our Marga. But
again if one is truly dedicated to their spiritual practices then they do
not face any problem or difficulty. For them life remains serene and
blissful.

So although all this is more common in the west, actually the seeds of this
problem are everywhere– in each and every corner of the globe. Because
wherever human beings are living they are controlled and bound by that
Cosmic Operative Principle and their mind functions in that same direction,
everywhere. All, everybody’s mind.

Even then it is more common in our western countries primarily because the
accepted standard is different than in the Indian sub-continent etc. For
example in India people cannot have partners or friends of the opposite sex
etc, but in our western countries it is quite acceptable to have such types
of friends and/or sexual partners.

Furthermore because our so-called third world countries and in many other
states social pressure is there, that is why such cases did not burst out.
They got controlled in their own way through social rules, regulations, and
norms. So even if people wanted to do they did not.

So, of course, the main way to permanently overcome this problem is to
charge the mind with the divine balm of spirituality.

Because when the mind is goaded to Parama Purusa then surrender comes and
in that state all problems are easily solved. That is why we see that in
spiritual persons this problem is negligible– zero. Whereas in crude
persons it is rampant.

However the colorful panorama of such nonsense is quite evident in our
western society where you will see a wealthy 80 year-old  man moving around
with and an 18-year-old film heroine. And this is getting more common where
even  in that age on his death-bed they involve in all sorts of crude
behavior and one offshoot is that they produce children also. In our
western society this is not looked upon as a bad thing; but in our Indian
society it is looked upon as being very bad. For this reason it is
invisible in India and more visible in the west.

So if social acceptance is there such that people get praise and prestige
by these negative ways, then these cases of degeneration happen more-and
vice-versa.

In our Ananda Marg, however, such type of behavior has no place. The power
of procreation is only for producing children and not for lust and crude
enjoyment. And when a husband and wife do create babies then their duty is
to maintain, nourish, and provide all sorts of arrangements for that child
up to higher education. But if on their death bed– at the age of 80 or 90
years– anybody is involving in crude behaviour and producing children,
then how in future will they be able to care for the welfare of that baby.
Never they cannot.

And in the case of those marriage break-ups which occur in mid-life. The
worst effect of all this happens when the young children get alienated from
their families because their fathers leave because he got attached with a
new young female.  Then tragically, the children become sentimentally
affected or fatherless or get treated just like one football. Sometimes
living with the father and sometimes living with their mother. So
everything becomes chaotic and disastrous. And the worst effect happens
upon our impressionable, growing children.

Because in that tragic circumstance, the children do not get proper love
and affection from the parents side. Because the father is involved in the
lustful, dirty games. And in our western society, it is such a shameful
thing that the children do not say that, ‘he is my father’. Rather most
often they say that, ‘Mr So-and-so is my biological father’. This term or
type of speech you will not hear in our Indian society. But it is quite
common in our western society.

Note 2: MIND IS THE CAUSE…

Mind is the cause of bondage and that same mind is the cause of salvation.

‘Man ayo manusa ma’n karnam….’,

Mind is the cause of bondage and that same mind is the cause of liberation.

If the mind is goaded towards Parama Purusa then it leads to salvation. And
if the mind is goaded towards degenerative propensities then it becomes the
cause of bondage. We know that human life is not for eating, drinking, and
sleeping. Baba says “Human life is an ideological flow”.

We have come on this earth to do something great by following bhagavad
dharma. Those who remember the Goal, they cannot lose the path.

Note 3: OUR DUTY

It is our duty to be aware about and inform others about these two critical
periods of the life– i.e. adolescence and middle age. So before then and
while at that age, everybody– those who are not pointed in their spiritual
routine– should be cautious. It is just like when you are climbing on the
snowy mountain then you take all sorts of tools because you know that it is
very slippery. Or if you are walking in the hot, sandy desert, then you
will have to be prepared with something to cover your whole body,
especially to cover your face from the dust. So having knowledge
before-hand is very essential. That is why when in any city an air attack
happens, then the city officials blow the siren to alert
the citizens.

Suppose you have to cross through the thorny path with your bare feet, then
you will be very cautious. In contrast if you are walking inside your own
room then you may not be that cautious. So when that delicate age is coming
in anybody’s life if they will remember or be made to remember that avidya
maya is going to create more magic and the mind will be dragged towards
negative direction easily, then they will be more alert. And the situation
has a better chance to be controlled.

So if one is going through that difficult age, then they should do
auto-suggestion and ideate on Parama Purusa, then the problem will be
completely solved.

And to guide others, when we see anyone passing through adolescence or
middle age, then we should guide them by giving them outer suggestion.

The central idea is that when alertness is there and when spiritual feeling
is inculcated, then with surrender this instinct problem can and will be
minimized to zero. And this will happen with the grace of Parama Purusa.

Note 4: WILD DURING MATING SEASON

Everyone has surely seen how well-tamed dogs, horses, buffaloes,
and cows– all kinds of animals even those who are very obedient to
masters, they become wild when their mating season comes. Their behaviour
gets changed in a radically uncontrolled way. And those people who are
around them become more alert to deal with them. So this happens with the
captivation of sex instinct. The same dog which was obedient, that dog
becomes uncontrollable in the mating season.

In a similar way when human beings are captivated by sex, then they do all
kinds of negative things. But no problem is bigger than the solution. So in
the life of those sadhakas who are motivated towards spirituality, then
such problems hardly arise. Everything is controlled. But those who are
leading crude life, they indulge in and gratify their animal instincts in a
very wild way– breaking all boundaries of propriety and impropriety. And
in result they become more strongly bound by avidya maya and then they get
reborn as lower creatures who dominated by basic animal instincts. This is
the unfortunate and sad plight of such persons.

Note 5: HUMAN MID-LIFE CRISIS

This common type of problem exists everywhere– it knows no
boundaries. And in our AM family there are two types of members: WT’s and
family margiis. And both are human beings and both have to follow the same
path. So this problem of middle age crisis (45-55 yrs) can be seen in those
who are not spiritually minded or focused in sadhana– whether they be Wts
or margiis. This is the unfortunate state of affairs.

Some, by the grace of Parama Purusa, are able control this easily. And some
fall down in the ditch and they feel shame and come out from the dirty land
and clean their clothes and they never fall again. But there are still
others  who are of the worst quality. They may be WT or they may be margii
but with such persons their infatuation with the opposite sex knows no
bounds. They indulge in this psychic disease and crude lust as their hobby.
And in this way they degenerate themselves down to the lower most level.
Down to the most negative mental status of degeneration— that is rasa’tal
loka.

Because all belong to my family so I do not feel comfortable writing
anyone’s name. I feel sympathy for everyone. After all patient is patient;
it may be related with the physical disease or the psychic disease. All
should be treated with compassion and heart-felt feeling. And it is
everyone’s duty to cure them.

Note 6: WHY COMMON CONCERN

The title of this letter is “all should know” because this whole
entire issues involves our whole family. Because even if we are pointed in
our sadhana and we are not affected by such things even then it remains our
duty to guide and inform others about this situation. So for that reason we
should be aware about all this. Because the society should be protected
from this negative onslaught.

Deserts Needed

Baba says, “Ecologists claim that some deserts are essential for keeping
the global ecology in a balanced state. The high day temperatures and the
cold night temperatures that occur in desert regions create a useful
effect. The hot, dry desert air rises and creates a vacuum which sucks in
cool air, generating a chain reaction. Moist air is sucked in from the sea
and formed into clouds which then rain on the land. If deserts vanish
entirely, the overall rainfall will be reduced.” (PNS-16, p.37)

Subject: Baba’s Equation for Work & Death

Baba

Intro to PS: In this song the devotee is directly communicating with Parama
Purusa and recounting his own devotional tales.

Note: In tropical countries, in the summer season most of the flowers dry up due to the extreme hot wind. Some few selected flowers are available in that season. So this song tells about those summer flowers.

“Griis’ma’vaka’she se yadi a’se..” (Prabhata Samgiita #110)

Purport:

If Baba comes in my summer parched heart, then I will offer Him various kinds of flowers in abundance, I will offer Him my summer season flowers– whatever the sweetest ones I have in my heart. If Baba comes with His rhythmic rosy feet into my mental garden that is decorated with the crimson sky and full of jasmine and magnolia trees, then in full prostration with my outstretched hands I shall offer flowers at His lotus feet.   In the blissful morning and evening hours when the sea breeze blows then the cuckoo of my mind calls Him with longing. In the flower grove of my heart, on the branches of the kimshuka trees my internal papiya bird calls out to Him– while nearly the entire flow of devotional river in my heart has run dry.

Because of the scorching summer heat the sharica indica flowers of my mental grove have fallen and withered away. So my heart requests Baba to shower  His divine grace and come. My mind, which is filled with longing, deeply desires for His arrival to change everything into the luscious blossoms of spring. Because of the extreme summer heat the silk cotton trees are just laden with seeds. On the grapevine, bunches of grapes hang low for You. And in the arbor of the Madhavii flowers of my heart, swarms of black bees are humming around the blossoms.   In this summer atmosphere of my heart, if by showering His grace He comes then whatever are the best things of my heart I will offer at His lotus feet…

== WORK OF DYING PERSON ==

Namaskar,
In various discourses Baba guides us, “Die while working, and work even while dying.” While some certainly understand Baba’s intent, a few remain somewhat confused.

Commonly people think that in order to follow – “Die while working, and work even while dying” – they should do relief work or their designated social service project incessantly, i.e. without stopping. They do not do anything else nor think about anything else – to the degree that they even skip their food & sadhana etc. They just work 24 / 7 for their project. Naturally one will die in this fashion. According to their misunderstanding, then that will be, “Die while working, and work even while dying.”

This has happened with many Wts and even some margiis. But if one studies our AM philosophy more thoroughly, it will be very evident what Baba really means by His teaching: “Die while working, and work even while dying.” He does not want that we destroy our human frame by drowning ourselves in work, disregarding our daily routine of 16 Pts.

This matter should be crystal clear in everyone’s mind. Failing that some degenerate due to their misunderstanding while others meet their demise far too soon.

WHAT BABA SAID AND WHEN

In His June 3, 1990 DMC discourse – “The Cult of Spirituality – The Cult of Pinnacled Order” –  in Ananda Nagar, Baba gave the following teaching:

Ka’m karte raho, ka’m karte raho,
Ka’m karte karte maro
Marte, marte bhii ka’m karo
Meaning:
Go on doing work, go on doing work
Die while working, and work even while dying

At first glance, it may seem that this is a very easy thing to understand. But actually, as noted above, more than a few misunderstand. This leads them to unwittingly contravene Baba’s teaching. Invariably they become frustrated, degenerated or leave the path entirely. So we should all be very clear about this lest we fall in the same boat and meet the same misfortune.

“DIE WHILE WORKING”: WHAT DOES IT MEAN

In His above teaching – “Die while working, and work even while dying” –  Baba is outlining the essence of true karma yoga which will eventually bring one onto the path of bhakti. First we have to understand Baba’s message and then examine common pitfalls or areas of misunderstanding.

So what does it mean to “die while working”? Essentially there are two aspects:

1) Baba has blessed me with the strength to serve others; I am serving with His strength.
2) I am serving Him in His endless array of forms; I am serving Narayana.

Then – of course – to maintain this outlook regular sadhana is needed.

Hence when Baba says “Die while working”, it does not mean that we should run ourselves ragged until we have totally ruined our physical body such that we die. Rather He is teaching us the path of true karma where we realise that we are serving with His strength and that we are serving Him in His many forms.

HOW PEOPLE DEGENERATE

BY MISUNDERSTANDING THIS TEACHING

Unfortunately, some misunderstand Baba’s above mandate and this leads to their downfall. For instance:

a) Some think that “work while dying” means to skip all one’s dharmic practices – asanas, dances, fasting, food, and sadhana – and just plunge oneself in social service until the body is destroyed. For example, a Dada running a children’s home may just think about doing relief, relief, relief and die in that way. It is nothing but a myth that this is Baba’s teaching.

Indeed, this misguided vision leads to so many problems including frustration, ill health, anxiety, and desperation. Some even leave Ananda Marga because they have forgotten their real purpose in life. So this manner is not good.

b) Others think that “work while dying” means that with my own strength I am serving poor people etc. This leads to ego & arrogance as one has forgotten bhumadrsti, or cosmic outlook. They have forgotten that one is serving with His strength and that one is serving Him in the form of this manifested world. Thus this way also is not the path of true karma. Unfortunately you may have seen some doing like this in our Marga. They brag about their work: “I have done this or that, I have built this jagrti and I have published this book etc.” This type of expression is the work of a degenerated mind.

c) Some hold the misnomer that all work & all actions are karma yoga. Following this tenet they remain busy all the 24hrs in all kinds of crude & mundane engagements, and overlook their sadhana in the name of doing karma. In that case their work engagement only leads to bondage. True karma yoga actually begins when one feels that “He is the Doer, I am just fulfilling my role in His liila.” For this idea to enter the mind, all kinds of devotional practices are a must. Then one’s service will lead to liberation.

So we must always remember that Baba’s formulas for perfectly adhering to the path of karma – i.e. “die while working” – entails two conditions. First one must think that,  “Parama Purusa has blessed me by giving me strength to serve”: It His strength not mine.

And secondly one must ideate that “I am serving Parama Purusa in the form this manifested universe – I am serving Narayana.” And all along one must be strict in sadhana and all their dharmic practices.

These are the pre-requisite factors for adhering to Baba’s teaching, “Die while working”, and following the path of true karma. And by this way one will garner more and more devotion, by His grace.

“WORK WHILE DYING”: WHAT DOES IT MEAN

When Baba says, “Work while dying”, then many get confused. They wonder how is it possible to work when the body is sick, old, and decrepit. How can one do work when they are on their deathbed.

And the answer is that at this point one’s chief work is sadhana. We must remember that sadhana is also work. In various discourses, Baba Himself says that sadhana itself is karma.

When infirmed, one may not be able to render disaster relief work to the society, however a sadhaka will be able to ideate on Him and do sadhana. That is how to pay heed to the teaching, “Work while dying.”

So the main work of one who is taking their last breaths on this earth is to do sadhana and ideate on Parama Purusa. That will be, “Work while dying.”

FURTHER THOUGHTS

So the above represents the greater meaning of Baba’s teaching: “Die while working and work while dying.” Here are further thoughts & considerations on this issue.

1) As Ananda Margiis, our preference is not to go and live in a retirement home and lie there listlessly etc. So long as we have energy then we will serve. And when we have lived our life to the fullest and have no energy left then we will remain in bed and do sadhana. That is the formula and how it works.

2) One day each and every person will complete their life and leave their body. And if you remember Parama Purusa then you will become one with Him. So one must go on doing sadhana. That is the main work. Hence, the formula of true karma yoga encompasses all kinds of devotional practices.

3) Once again Baba’s teaching is: “Die while working, and work even while dying.”

The first part of this teaching guides us to do social service and sadhana for as long as we can. And the latter half guides us that when that when we are on our deathbed we should complete our karma by doing sadhana.

BABA’S BLESSING

By Baba’s grace He has given the teaching for doing true karma on this earth and attaining liberation by His grace. Those who misunderstand His teachings only invite their own demise. By clearly understanding – “Die while working, and work even while dying” – then one’s life on this earth is sure to be successful.

Namaskar,
Parama’tma

Note 1: RELATED TEACHINGS

Here Baba guides us that bragging about doing any work is pure foolishness since all energy to act comes from Him. One rendering service on the path of true karma will always remember this divine truth.

Baba says, “I have done this. I have done that.” You say this. But where from doth that energy come? It is not your individual energy. If you are not given food or water for a few days, what will happen? You will not have any energy. You cannot create any energy. Through food, physical energy is transmuted into your individual vital energy.” (“The Supreme Cognition”)

In this next teaching, Baba warns us that if one misunderstands dharmic teachings – like “Die while working, and work even while dying” – then one will degenerate. And indeed that is what we see happening to some in the Marga.

Baba says, “All people should have proper knowledge and understanding of what is shreya and what is preya, what is vidya’ and what is avidya’, for lack of this knowledge causes their downfall. (SS-3, “Supreme Benevolence and Mundane Pleasure”)

Here in this below guideline, Baba warns how we should not waste our life in useless mundane pursuits losing sight of Him. By Baba’s grace we should follow His guideline of true karma, where one is ever involved in His thought and serving Him.

Baba says, “I have spent my life in vain;
Such a great Lord I did not worship –
I lost the greatest jewel.
I am indeed an unfortunate creature;
I never enjoyed
Even a drop of nectar
Of the love of God.” (SS-3)

Note 2: WRONGLY PRINTED IN OUR BOOKS

The discourse “The Cult of Spirituality – The Cult of Pinnacled Order” is printed in the book, Yoga Psychology. There the publishers printed Baba’s teaching as follows:

Marte marte ka’m karo, ka’m karte karte maro

But this is not correct. Because when delivering that discourse Baba actually said:

Ka’m karte raho, ka’m karte raho,
Ka’m karte karte maro
Marte, marte bhii ka’m karo

Hence this stands as yet another case where the publishers could not properly transcribe Baba’s original teachings.

Note 3: BABA ALSO TALKED ABOUT THIS

In these following discourses Baba also reviews this critical point, “Die while working, and work even while dying.”

“Incantation and Human Progress.” Tatanagar, 30 Nov 79, Bangla

“Action Leads to Progress”, Patna, 11 Jul ’79 Hindi

Baba

“Kato je d’eke gechi toma’re, shon’o ni, tumi a’sa ni…” (Prabhata Samgiita #2207)

Purport:

Baba, I have so much longing for You. With that feeling I go on calling You. But neither do You listen to my call, nor do You come close.

Although they say that You listen to the feeling of the mind. That You listen to all the thought waves which sprout in the mind, because You are sitting right there in the mind. Although they say like that, to me it seems like You are not residing in the mind. You are not there. That’s why You do not understand the feeling of longing which I have for You.

I do not know whether You do not have capacity to listen to my feeling, or whether You listen to my feeling of the mind but knowingly You do not respond. This is Your divine play. But this divine play of Yours is very painful for me. You are giving me pain by not caring about my longing. It may be possible that my cry reaches to Your ears, but it does not touch Your mind. That’s why You do not give any response.

Baba, please tell me that except You who is mine? You know nobody is mine, that’s why I open my heart to You.

Many tales which up till now I did not tell You, those feelings of my heart I will tell You. Baba, I have so much longing and yearning for You. Why are You not listening. Please pay heed to my call and come close…

== HANDLING OF BABA’S DMC DISCOURSES ==

Namaskar,
As we all know in DMC Baba would often speak in three languages. Nearly all the DMC discourses are like that. For accurate depiction of these historic and dharmic discourses, then various steps can be taken. And about this very matter various acaryas and margiis have gathered and the  following are a couple of the top suggestions and recommendations which they have given.

SOME POINTS ABOUT TRANSCRIBING HIS DISCOURSES

1. When transcribing or printing Baba’s DMC discourses then each and every word must get printed. But not only that, it should be indicated throughout the printed discourse in which language Baba is speaking. Because we know it was Baba’s normal manner that in DMC discourses He would rotate from Hindi to Bangla to English, though not necessarily in that order.

So just as in the general darshans when Baba is mostly using only one of the languages then the discourse is marked as being from that particular language, such as English or Hindi etc. Likewise when Baba is delivering His DMC discourses then all along our transcription should be marked in italics or in some other distinguishing manner in which language Baba is speaking for each particular section.

By this way it will provide one excellent historical and linguistic record of exactly what way Baba has spoken. And it will also allow the transcriptions to be more accurate and ethically honest renditions of Baba’s discourse– as it will print each and every word. Thus if the book is in English then the entire printed version of that DMC discourse will be in English, but step by step it will indicate which of the languages Baba was speaking in.

So that way the reader will know which is Baba’s actual word and which is a translation from one of the other languages. And no matter which languages the book is written in– whether it be German, Bengali, Chinese, Tegalo etc– all the while it will indicate what language Baba was using throughout His discourse. And by this way we will have one accurate and highly indicative version of Baba’s discourse.

Of course thus far this has not been done. Rather there is no way for the reader to know which is which and what is what when reading Baba’s DMC discourses. And not only that but in their present way of dealing much of the content of Baba’s talk is left our altogether– i.e. it is not included at all. And the only way to know what was the original language of a particular section of the discourse is to have the audio cassette itself. Otherwise there is no way to know.

NOT MERE REPETITION FROM ONE LANGUAGE TO THE NEXT

2. Another reason for printing the whole, entire transcription of Baba’s discourse is because during His speech Baba did not merely repeat Himself when switching over from one language to the next. That means those same ideas were not rote translations from one language to another and then spoken by Baba. That was not His approach. Rather in newer and newer ways Baba was unfolding the subject matter according to the knowledge, cultural understanding and spiritual feeling of the devotees of that particular linguistic background, as well as according to the strengths and limitations of each language.

So in that way Baba’s explanation is more colourful, interesting, and lucid for the audience. And thus even though many people attending those DMCs knew all three languages– Hindi, Bangla, & English– they never got bored by listening to Baba’s talk. Because Baba’s style of expression, use of examples, and way of talking and introducing the topic would vary considerably from one language to another. Of course the topic and the theme were consistent throughout, but according to the aforementioned variables, Baba’s style of speaking and way of expression was unique and would vary widely throughout His entire discourse. Hence there is much to be gained by printing the entire transcription of Baba’s DMC discourses.

But up till now this is not at all being done. Rather only small sections are being taken from each and mixed together or only 1 language was taken, i.e. Bengali, and everything that Baba spoke in Hindi and English was discarded entirely, when in fact what Baba told in those languages was not mere repetition of the Bengali section.

Yet when we know that Guru’s word is mantra then everything should be included. Strict attention should be given to perfectly transcribe each and every syllable.

ONE STORY REGARDING OUR SCRIPTURE

(b) With regards to the discourse titled “Macrocosmic Conation And Microcosmic Urge” from the Ananda Purnima 1985 DMC, there is one story to tell.

Not long back I was searching that discourse for many reasons– one being that I personally attended that DMC discourse in May ’85– and finally I found the contents of the discourse in one of our Subhasita Samgraha books. But there was  no date or place marked along with it. Those key points were missing. Some of the contents of that discourse were printed in that SS-24 book. But by seeing it there nobody can identify what it is. Because the publisher did not print that this belongs to that DMC of May 1985. Means the date and place and all specifics about the discourse are missing from the SS-24 publication.

However by Baba’s grace from my diary I confirmed that this is indeed the discourse from that DMC of 26 May 1985 when Baba delivered His discourse, “Macrocosmic Conation And Microcosmic Urge”.

But there is one other serious point. Namely that what actually got printed in the SS-24 book is just one very small fraction of the discourse. Most of the discourse is missing, entirely gone. Because in actuality, Baba Himself took about 35 minutes to deliver that very discourse on that very day of 26 May 1985. Thus He spoke for more than half-an-hour. But what is printed in the book SS-24 is the material of maximum 5-7 minutes worth of talk– or even less than that. So most of Baba’s discourse from that 1985 Ananda Purnima DMC is missing from the Subhasita Samgraha book. So that is the situation about this.

Overall then a few critical points are there. One is that the discourse is not properly brought into printed form– it is just a fraction of the discourse. And second, the place and date are not mentioned. Nor is it mentioned whether this is a DMC discourse or not. All these important matters are gone regarding Baba’s historic annual DMC discourse of May 1985.

NOW AND FOR THE FUTURE

Guru’s things are important. So if the scripture is left like that this then that is a very delicate and sensitive affair– the door will be wide open for adulteration. So we will have to be vigilant. Please write your opinion.

BABA’S BLESSING

Here following is Baba’s blessing for making one human society.

Baba says, “You will have to build a society in which no one is forced to weep, where everyone smiles joyfully all the time and gets ample scope for laughter. Seeing such mirth and merriment, Parama Purusa will feel immensely pleased. By giving joy to Parama Purusa you will feel even more joyful and will feel His close proximity. This is the actual social code…You should all move along this path – you are sure to meet with success.” (AV-4)

Namaskar,
Indrajit

Note 1: ABOUT THOSE IN CHARGE OF THE SCRIPTURES

Baba says, “The scriptures containing spiritual injunctions must be totally flawless. And the pioneering personality must be a strict and benevolent guardian with unyielding conviction.” (NSS p.200, Edn 1995)

Here above, by pioneering personality Baba is referring to all those margiis and Wts who have the feeling in the core of their heart to watch over and safeguard Baba’s timeless words.

Note 2: WHERE ARE THOSE DMC DISCOURSES

And as we know usually all the DMC discourses are collected and printed in the Subhasita Samgraha series. So if anyone is fluent in Hindi, Bangla, and English then they can see that “all” the DMC discourses from 1955-90 have been published in the Subhasita Samgraha series. Some of the DMC discourses prior to 1970 may be exceptions to the rule in this regard. But for the post 1970 period, in some way, shape, or form those DMS discourses are printed in Subhasita Samgraha books.

Note 3: RECOLLECTION ABOUT ATTENDING DMC

Of course for we Ananda Margiis, DMC is one very significant thing where Baba gives Varabhaya Mudra. And Margiis go to attend and get His blessing. In addition, most of the time people like to write down the discourse name which they can later refer to and type. Because recording the discourse on audio tape was not permitted those days.

Note 4: WHAT ABOUT HIS GENERAL DARSHANS

When there is this type of negligence has occurred with Baba’s historic DMC discourses then you can imagine what is the condition of Baba’s other DMC discourses, what to speak of all those General Darshan discourses that Baba has delivered.

Note 5: ALL ARE NOT IN ONE LANGUAGE

Subhasita Samgraha parts 1-24 are not available in any single language. Some are in Hindi, and some are in Bangla, and some are only in English print. But between the Hindi and English editions, that is enough to cover all the parts of the Subhasita Samgraha series. But some parts are only available in one language. Just like parts 21 and 24 of the Subhasita Samgraha Series are not available in the other two languages, only English.

Note 6: CURRENT SCENE

With regards to this whole issue of scripture, on the top margiis do not have access to the cassettes of all the discourses and the second thing is that margiis are not being provided the books. And in the midst of all this now those at the helm are involved in group and clan clashes like primitive people. So this whole chaotic situation is occurring because of lack of awareness of the grand ideology which has been given by Baba.

Note 7: ALL HIS DISCOURSES MUST BE PRINTED

So it is our request that bringing out Baba’s discourses in printed form should be given utmost importance.

*************************************************
Far Reaching Effect

Baba says, “In the world today a handful of people who do no physical work, but live by their wits, have appropriated to themselves most of the wealth of  umanity, so they are able to buy comparatively expensive foods, and use them to satisfy their taste buds. As result, they, on the one hand, swell their unnecessary fat, while, on the other hand, those people doing hard manual labour are forced to live in poverty and deprived of the ghee, butter and sweets they need to maintain their bodies; they have nothing to compensate properly the energy they expend, and they become weak, emaciated and broken in health. On account of malnutrition and excessive hard labour, they fall victim to tuberculosis.” (YT, p. 82-83)

Baba

“Sakal duya’r khule dile prabhu, Va’ta’yan-pathe a’lo elo…” (P.S. 2429)

Purport:

Baba, by Your grace You have come and opened all the doors and windows,
and a huge effulgence has started pouring in. From the eastern horizon
the crimson dawn is visible. The darkness is fast fading away.

Baba, in the past there was a domination of dogma and groupism all
around. Countless superstitions and negative samskaras were doing their
naked dance. But now, with the presence of Your divine effulgence, in
the blink of an eye those dogmas and negative things have disappeared.
And the  beings of darkness have dissolved into thin air. I do not know
where  they have gone– just they disappeared.

Baba, with Your love and punishment You are keeping everyone in Your
shelter. O’ Baba, You are caring for everyone…

== BABA’S PROCEDURAL ORDER ABOUT SADHANA ==

Namaskar,
We all know Baba places great emphasis on our sadhana practice as it is
only by properly doing sadhana that we can grow from crude animality to
human, and from human to ideal human being, and from ideal human to divine.

Just as an illiterate person can become a doctor, professor, or
a lawyer through proper schooling and education.

Similarly…

Sadhana wholly transforms one’s mind, body, and consciousness. The whole
personality gets changed by proper sadhana. That is why our Guru has
given a huge importance to doing sadhana.

Unfortunately many of us haven’t been able to realise this basic fact in
our practical life. As long as we have not realised the depth of
sadhana, we should go on doing our meditation with utmost sincerity. Let
us not forget that sadhana is a scientific process and by right effort a
result must come.

And not only must we practice sadhana, but we must tell those who are
obsessed with materialism as well. They must understand that materialism
is not everything. This truth must be understood by all.

For all these reasons, sadhana is very important and here is Baba’s
Procedural Order on sadhana.

—-
“STANDARD OF SADHANA”

“(A) 4 Times Sadhana: Doing sadhana 4 times daily is compulsory for all
wholetime workers. It will be the duty of all wt workers to maintain the
record of their 4 time sadhana routine in their compulsory daily diary.
All trade heads are also hereby instructed to see very particularly the
sadhana routine of each and every individual worker of their concerning
trade. Trade heads must check whether their workers do sadhana 4 times a
day or not. DPS will be directly responsible for implementing this
system very strictly. DPS is also to create his own method for
collecting information every month regarding workers of different trades
who do not or did not perform sadhana as per system in a particular
month. Such names are to be recorded and immediate steps to be taken by
the DPS against the concerning workers and the supervisory worker of
that trade. A monthly statement regarding the irregularities in 4 times
sadhana by the workers of different trades and disciplinary steps taken
by the DPS against the worker must be submitted to the higher authority
every month.”

“General Margiis: Doing sadhana 2 times daily is compulsory for all
margiis in general. DPS is to keep candour eye through his RDPS and DDPS
on each and every margii regarding their performance of individual
sadhana 2 times a day. Any slackness in this respect is to be pointed
out by the concerning RDPS and DDPS to the margiis concerned and the
margii is to be made to understand that by not doing sadhana he is
committing sin and that he must be very very strict in 2 times sadhana.
RPDS and DDPS are to keep a regular record of the margiis of their
respective areas regarding two times sadhana. DPS must keep a regular
watch on the records.”

“B) Asana and Ekadashii: In order to help in regularity and improvement
in sadhana, every worker will have to follow very strictly the rules of
asanas (daily compulsory) and ekadashii and they will maintain this
record in their daily diary. The DPS will keep very close watch on this
and necessary steps must be immediately taken.”

“C) In order to improve the sadhana of the WT workers and increase their
attachment to it, the 7th lesson (Sahaj Pranayama) may be made available
for practice to maximum wt workers. This will immediately increase their
inclination towards sadhana.”

(Procedural Order on Sadhana as given by Baba)
—-

Most senior Wts have this above Procedural Order but they do not like
share with their junior wts and margiis, otherwise those seniors
themselves will be pointed out for not following this order.

BABA’S BLESSING

By Baba’s grace He has blessed us with this great sadhana practice of
Ananda Marga and we should realise this quest in our daily life.

Baba says, “The worship of Brahma should be done scrupulously, or else
you will later regret and bemoan the futility of your life with the last
drop of your tears at your last hour. You should make your life
worthwhile through your sa’dhana’. How much can your worldly friends and
relations do for you? After your death your relatives may perhaps ask,
“How much money has he left behind?” Your friends may go to the
crematorium and indulge in flattering reminiscences about you. Your
husband or wife may cry for you for about ten or twelve days and then
regain their normal composure. Your lot will be only a profound sigh – a
record of the futility and frustration of your life. So do not waste
your time lest you later have to repent…That is why I say that you
will have to dedicate yourselves to His feet wholly and unreservedly.
You will earn godliness in proportion to the extent that you surrender
yourselves, and finally, after merging that acquired godliness of yours
in His Entity, you will attain eternal bliss.” (SS-3)

== YOUR JAGRTI IS IN QUEUE TO BE SOLD: PART 3 ==

~ ANANDA MARGA JAGRTI SELLERS ARE MAHAPATAKIIS ~

Namaskar,
This is in follow-up to what others have written on this critical topic. We must not allow certain factional heads to continue in their ways, lest all our AM land will be gone.

This letter contains lists of those Dada involved in selling AM land and other critical details. First however let’s discuss this very important point given by Baba in His Procedural Orders.

PROCEDURAL ORDERS PROTECT AM LANDS
As many are aware, by His grace Baba issued Procedural Orders that both clarify and detail how AMPS should operate. In many of these Procedural / Organisational Orders Baba has specified that AM land holdings and properties must be protected. Here are two such procedural orders:
OFFICE OF ANANDA MARGA PRACARAKA SAMGHA (CENTRAL) ANANDA NAGAR
Procedure Order of 25/1/67: Duties and Responsibilities of Secretary of Land Dept
Procedure Order of 25/1/67: Land, Building & Farm Dept

Both these Procedural Orders mandate how to protect, keep, build, utilise AMPS land.

However, there is not a single Procedural Order about the selling or destruction of AM lands. What does this tell us?
Well it is similar to how in Caryacarya Baba guides us that we are to serve animals but He does not include instructions for how to sacrifice animals. Thus it is obvious that we are not to sacrifice animals. Likewise Baba clearly instructs how to help and guide our brothers and sisters; there is no mention of killing anyone. So we know we are not to harm any person – rather we are to help and serve one and all. It is quiet clear.
Similarly, in Procedural Orders, as there is no mention about how to sell AM lands, it is quite evident that Baba does not want this done. He does not want AM lands sold. Whereas, there are a number of Procedural Orders detailing how to protect our AM lands. So that is what we should do: Safeguard organisational land holdings.
And of course on so many occasions Baba instruction us not to sell AM lands.
SOME OF THE KNOWN HISTORY ABOUT LAND SELLING:
ALL FACTIONAL HEADS WERE INVOLVED

Here is some of the known history about the selling of AM lands. This particular case is that of the Patna Baba Quarters land.

In 1998 Mantreshvara’nanda the senior group leader of Kolkata faction, was GS of the organisation and in those days our AMPS was not openly divided into groups. They were all together under one roof. That means Rudra’nanda, Parmeshvara’nanda, Nigama’nanda, Vandana’nanda, Sarva’tma’nanda, Giita’ didi, Sumita’ Didi, & Dyotona’ Didi were all together those days.
In that setting, the Ba’ba’ quarter land in Phulwari Shariiff, Patna, Bihar, India which was just little less than one acre was sold to a Muslim butcher (meat slaughterer / businessman) for millions of rupees with the justification that Centre is in debt and needs money.

Thus this critical AM land holding was sold – unbeknown to margiis – by all these top Dadas etc. They were all involved and gave their approval.

As we all know, the group leaders of all factions in our organisation have ruined things by cutting AMPS into pieces. Groupist leaders of all groups are responsible for this heinous crime. Those who have any love for our organisation will never do this.

TREAT AMPS AS A MILKING COW

Groupist leaders have only one intention behind their so many actions. And that is to build their “Ra’j” – i.e. kingdom. They regard our AMPS organisation as a milking cow – Dudha’roo ga’ya – which they want to milk to the hilt for their own selfish gain. They want to make more and more personal & factional wealth by milking our organisation of all its properties.

In this regard Central workers started selling the lands and when the organisation split then all group leaders were involved full title in this business of selling of AMPS land and property. They are all stealing from the organisation.
The groupist leaders of all factions are the same.
THEY ARE ALL TOGETHER

Here is the common political strategy and psychology which we must all consider.

In any country where the ruling party indulges in corruption then the opposition party raises the issues of corruption not because they are against corruption themselves but because they want a share of the wealth from that corruption. They want that same power for themselves. So members of the opposition parties captialise on whatever opportunites they get to make money through corruption.
In the same way, the leaders of all groups are the same. On this critical issue of selling lands, they are all together and they have same idea. No group is against the idea or  principle of selling organisational land and property. They have all done it in the past and given the opportunity they will all do it in the future.
The main point is that no group is against the theory, idea, philosophy, or principle of selling organisational property.
MORE ABOUT THE SELLING OF PATNA LAND

Such a heinous crime in Patna was committed with the full support of Central Committee which was the compilation of all of today’s groupist leaders of all factions.

Back in 1998, various margiis like Mohan TT and UPSF leader Nirainjan opposed this heinous crime of selling land of the organisational land in Patna. And then in June DMS A’nanda Nagar 1998, they tried to meet PP dada and discuss this issue with him. At that time then all of Centre ordered an attack with la’thiis and knives on such margiis.

Everyone should know that Parmeshvara’nanda was the first person who ordered volunteers to physically attacked those margiis who were opposing land sale by saying “Kill them, they are supporters of Maniisananda”. Centre captured some of those margiis (Mohan TT, Nirainjan etc) and locked them in one room to kill them. This went on for some time. These margiis were released only after the news spread to police and margiis everywhere.

We must remember that in AM killing members is not uncommon phenomenon. Who can forget that fateful day when one certain group led an offensive and killed Dada Abhipremananda in Ananda Nagar. That was cold-blooded murder.

Here the whole point is that to fulfill their groupist agenda, these top Dadas will go to the far reaches of the earth. And on this point of land selling, they are all in this together. In the past they collaborated on such land sales and in the future, they are all totally ready to sell AMPS land holdings in order to bring money into their groupist fold.
BABA’S BLESSING
By Baba’s grace we all have to be ready to stand for AM teachings. Baba has mandated in Procedural / Organisational Orders that AM land must not be sold. But groupist chieftains are not paying heed. Hence it is the duty of all to come forward and safeguard this most critical issue. By His grace, and our collective effort, success is sure.
Please write in with your thoughts and news about what is going on in your area.

Jayanta

Baba

“Tandra’ yadi a’se he prabhu bheunge dio…” (PS 2497)

Purport:

O’ my Prabhu, O’ Baba, please grace me so that I can better serve You. If tandra’*, if drowsiness ever overcomes my being then please destroy that. And if vanity ever enters into my mind, then please pulverise that into the dust and keep me in Your shelter. Baba, please grace me so that I can follow You.

O’ my dearmost, if I ever forget You and move along the sinful path, then with a thunderous voice please guide and discipline me and bring me back under Your shelter.

Baba, by Your grace I have come onto this earth– You have brought me here– to do Your work, to serve You by doing mantra japa, kiirtan, sadhana, and dhyana. Baba, by Your grace I have come here to move on the pathway which You have shown me. Baba, please saturate my mind with this divine truth: That I have come here to remain involved with You– to revolve around You. Baba, You are the be-all and end-all of my life.

Baba, please be ever-gracious so that I can remain under Your shelter permanently, forever and ever…

*Tandra= (Literally meaning ‘drowsiness’) In the above Prabhat Samgiita, Baba gives the feeling that tandra does not mean physical weariness but rather drowsiness in the spiritual realm, i.e. when people remain oblivious of the spiritual world. When they think that sadhana is for the future only. In that way their life just passes while involving only in various mundane thoughts and preoccupation. By this way the mind gradually gets crudified. This state of remaining oblivious to one’s spiritual life is known as tandra, or drowsiness in the spiritual sense.

As we know Prabhat Samgiita is something divine– not mundane. For this reason we can understand when the term tandra’ is used in this song it refers to the spiritual realm. We should see Prabhat Samgiita in higher aspects.

Baba has furthermore told that one can only properly understand Prabhat Samgiita when mind is at the trikuti (ajina cakra) or above. Otherwise one cannot understand the meaning.

Sometimes in Prabhat Samgiita Baba uses terms related with mundane things; but this is done as an allegory only. The inner sense is something deeper. So on the mundane level tandra’ means physical drowsiness but in this song is refers to spiritual drowsiness.

Finally, in this materialistic era, people are more involved in their crude material gain than their spiritual growth and development. What to say about common human beings, this is quite common the case in our own vast AM family as well, including myself.

Here are Baba’s furthermore comments on tandra’ and spiritual drowsiness and lethargy.

Baba says, “Every human being, from the age of fourteen or fifteen, has an innate desire to ideate on Parama Purus’a. With cosmic ideation one will attain vast expansion of mind, one will become great in all respects. No one can check the all-round growth of such a person. People realise this and yet ignore it and thus waste their time getting old for nothing. That is, they waste their time in non-spiritual pursuits. This is called ‘spiritual lethargy’. It causes the greatest harm to human life because it results in only a very small percentage of the human potentiality – maybe one or two percent – being utilised by humans. Even those who we call great personalities hardly use ten percent of their potentialities. Due to spiritual lethargy people are unable to grow, and thus remain very ordinary. They come to the world, live, decay and die as ordinary human beings.” (AV-8, ‘Bad Habits Which Should Be Given Up’)

And here Baba explains about tandra’ and the six defects:

Nidra’ tandra’ bhayam’ krodha a’lasyam’ diirghasu’trata’;
S’ad’ados’a’h purus’en’eha ha’ntavya’h bhu’timicchata’.

Baba says, “Those who want to prosper in life must destroy these six defects in themselves: nidra’ [sleep], tandra’ [drowsiness], a’lasya [lethargy], bhaya [fear], krodha [anger], and diirghasu’trata’ [procrastination].” (AV-31, ‘Sleep & Inertia’)

== PREVALENT MYTHS IN ANANDA MARGA ==

Namaskar,
The following are some common myths propagated these days in our Marga. Bear in mind that in certain areas, some of these myths are more (or less) prevalent. Where such myths are not yet common, some interest groups are working hard to infuse them.

Hence, either the following are happening in your unit or they will be happening soon if precautionary measures are not taken.

Here then are the prevailing myths:

1. One must do caran sparsha mudra / touching the feet of a Wt even if you do not have respect for that worker.

2. Those in saffron cloth are venerable – period. There is no need to consider their merits or demerits.

3. Importance is given to the post – do not care about a worker’s conduct.

4. Baba has gone far away to some unknown place “Divya Dhama” – divine place.

5. Purodhas with vishesh yoga of higher post are spiritually elevated. They are above all conduct rules so do not compare judge them by whether they follow certain rules or not. They are far above this level.

6. The conduct rules are for junior Wts and margiis only – not for those with higher post.

7. In AMPS, the key people are Wts; margiis are 2nd class citizens. That is why margiis cannot be Purodha.

8. Male Wts are first class and female workers are second class.

9. To get Baba’s blessing one must visit Kolkata, Jamalpur, Ananda Nagar, Ranchi, Delhi, Mumbai, Diigha, Vishnupur, Allahabad, Bhagalpur, Ananda Shiila and so many places where Baba stayed (i.e. where there is a Baba Quarters) & asthi kalash (holy ashes). For moksa must go to Kolkata or Jamalpur – only.

10. Margiis and junior Wts must salute those holding higher posts.

11. At ETC (Eraws Training Camp), WRC (VSS camp), the controlling Wts are kings and the attendees are slaves. Similarly in Wt Training Centre, the trainer and in-charges are kings and the trainees are slaves.

12. In our WT cadre, the central workers have the automatic right to be “haves”, i.e. live in the lap of luxury, while common workers are forced to live hand to mouth, as the “have-nots”. The “haves” have 500 times more than the “have-nots”. This is the dharmic way – one must not think there is anything wrong. This is approved by dharma.

13. In our Wt cadre, all those who are “haves” deserve more respect. Any Wt with money should be respected. Poor wts are worthless.

14. If anyone does silent action to a Wt who is nearby, then that person observing silent action will be beaten up and punished – deservedly so.

15. It is both normal & dharmic to observe an annual shraddha to commemorate a respected deceased person on the anniversary of their death. Just as Mahaprayan Divas (MPD) is done annually, this is also done.

16. Baba was Purodha Pramukha and He has given His seat to the PP Dada. So PP Dada can give boons and blessings. Those who visit must do sastuanga pranam to PP Dada. That is the aura.

17. Newlyweds must pay to get PP Dada’s marriage blessing in order to have successful marriage.

18. Baba is ruling organisation through PP Dada so blindly follow.

Note: You can read more about all these issues on this blog:

Secret Behind…

Everybody knows that devotion is the highest thing in human life. And Baba’s below teaching discloses the reason why our most devotional scripture has been composed in the genre of poetry: Because poetry is easy to memorise. For this reason Baba has composed our devotional scripture – i.e. Prabhat Samgiita – in poetic verse.

Baba says, “When anyone says something, the eyes are engaged in seeing, the
ears in hearing, and the mind dances in rhythm. In the absence of rhythm it is difficult to memorize. That is why since ancient times, for 15,000 years, the common practice has been to bring every valuable branch of knowledge within the scope of rhythm. Human beings do not easily forget rhythm. One may forget the contents of knowledge, but not the rhythm. That is why all Vedic Rks were composed in 7 meters. All literary compositions were brought within the gamut of the seven Vedic metres…as they are valuable for the memory.” (APH-5, p.353)

Why Boring Sadhana

Baba

PS Intro: This following song can be taught to non-margiis as it belongs in
the ‘Krsnaliila’ series. As we know, in Baba’s Prabhat Samgiita collection,
there are a number of songs about Lord Krsna. So when any program is
organised related with Krsnaliila, then these songs are most useful to
attract non-margii devotees who have love for Krsna. So this song is not
for our regular devotional chanting. This is not a devotional song for
Ananda Margiis. If anyone has any doubt or confusion about this, please
refer to Baba’s discourse: “Onm’kara and Is’t’a Mantra”.

“Ka’j kare yete esechi dhara’te, kuruks’etra ei dhara’…” (PS 1307)

Purport:

O’ Lord, by Your grace, I have come in this world to do work and serve
You; this world is kuruks’etra [1]. O’ my dearmost, with Your divine
compassion I have come here to engage in positive work and serve the
humanity. Remaining idle and inert, and wasting time in lethargy is not the
flow of life. This is not how human beings should live. O’ Prabhu, by Your
divine grace You have blessed me with the energy and motivation to involve
in work– to do something for the great cause of dharma.

O’ Lord Krsna, everything You have done with Your cakra [2] and Your bow
and arrow. Everyone is aware about Your epic adventures. That immortal tale
and everlasting story remains flowing in everyone’s memory– in everyone’s
mental plate.

O’ Prabhu, everyone is moving forward by Your divine pull; there is no
scope for anyone to pause or stop. No one can lag behind; all are moving
ahead. O’ Lord Krsna, that divine story of the Mahabharat led by You
Yourself which took place on Kuruksetra is filled with song and has been
beautifully written by the great sage, Dvaepa’yan [3].

O’ my Lord, by Your grace I have come on this earth to serve You and
work for the welfare of all..

NOTES FOR PRABHAT SAMGIITA #1307:

[1] Kuruks’etra: Everyone knows that the meaning of dharmaks’etra is one’s
human body whereas kuruks’etra has two meanings. The first meaning of
Kuruks’etra is that area of land near Delhi in the state of Haryana where
the Mahabharta battle was fought around 3500 years ago. And the second
meaning of Kuruks’etra refers to the grand idea that everyone has come into
this world to so some work– because this world is known as kuruks’etra.
Here following is Baba’s special explanation.

Baba says, “The real name of this world is kuruks’etra, because it is
always telling you Kuru, kuru, kuru – ‘Go on working and working and
working. Don’t sit idle. Don’t let your existence fall under a curse due to
your indolence. Move towards success through your works.’ So the real name
of that ks’etra [field] which constantly advises you in this way is
kuruks’etra. Kuruks´etra thus stands for the manifested world around us,
the sam’sa’ra, where you exist in your physical body, dharmaks’etra.” (DKG)

Indeed Baba has graciously given so many discourses on the meaning of
Kuruks’etra and by listening to His Prabhat Samgiita people can refresh
their mind of the real meaning of Kuruks’etra.

Here the overarching idea is that all the various aspects of Baba’s
expansive AM ideology are present in seed form in His collection of Prabhat
Samgiita. Baba has written His Prabhat Samgiita very indirectly and those
with a pointed mind understand how each song links with in-depth
explanations which He has given in His AM philosophical discourses.

[2] Cakra: This term has a variety of meanings and in this song Baba is
referring to one of the weapons of Lord Krsna. Because during the
Mahabharat battle, there were times when Lord Krsna unveiled His divine
cakra.

Here below Baba Himself describes the historic scene in the Mahabharat
where the people thought Lord Krsna covered the sun with His cakra so that
Arjuna could fufill his great vow of slaying the immoral Jayadrath.

Baba says, “You know what happened at the time of Jayadratha’s death.
Arjuna, as per his vow, was supposed to go to the funeral pyre immediately
after sunset in order to keep his promise. Suddenly people observed that
the sun was no longer in the sky and that it had become dark all around.
Everyone thought that the sun had already set. Those who were devotees, not
philosophers, commented that Lord Krs’n’a had covered the sun with His
Sudarshana Cakra…and people thought that the sun had gone down. Soon
Arjuna was able to keep his promise and kill Jayadratha. ” (NKS, Disc: 24)

[3] Dvaepa’yan: This is another name for the great poet Vedavyasa Deva who
recorded the Mahabharat in written form.

Baba says, “Krs’n’advaepa’yan’a Vya’sa is renowned as Vedavya’sa for having
divided the Vedas into three main portions (Rk, Yajuh, and Atharva)…He
was born in a fisherman’s family (Kaevarta [a fishing caste]) on a blackish
island that rose out of the waters of the confluence of the Ganges and the
Yamuna at Prayag, and for this reason the people gave him the name
Krs’n’advaepa’yan’a. This Krs’n’advaepa’yan’a or Vedavya’sa was the
composer of the Mahabharata. The Mahabharata was composed long, long, long
after the Vedas, but nonetheless it is undoubtedly more than three thousand
years old.” (SC-2, Disc: 11)

Final Note: Baba composed the above Prabhat Samgiita #1307 on 29 Feb 1984
when He Himself was touring through Kuruks’etra, thus giving credence to
the idea that indeed the historical account of the Mahabharat is itiha’sa.

== WHY BORING SADHANA ==

Namaskar,
Every sadhaka is aware that the repetition of our ista manta is based on
the divine idea that the individual mind of the unit being can become one
with the vast ocean of that Cosmic mind. So our mantra japa has tremendous
meaning and is part and parcel of our spiritual cult.

Here and there however, some lose sight of the greater meaning of their
ista mantra and instead get stuck up in a literal meaning. This below story
where one of our esteemed acaryas was doing a lesson review with one margii
follows this pattern.

STORY: ‘THE SMILING SADHAKA’

At dharmacakra, one acarya told this following story about his own
experience when doing a lesson review with on youth.

One time a margii university student approached this acaryaji and requested
him to do a lesson review. As that is one of the chief duties of our wts,
the acarya wholeheartedly attended to this request.

So the acarya reviewed various aspects of that sadhaka’s meditation,
including his ista mantra. And everything seemed fine so then they both sad
down for sadhana, sitting a short distance from one another.

After some time, the acarya opened his eyes and looked over at the young
sadhaka to see how everything was going. And he noticed that the student
was broadly smiling while doing sadhana.

Gently the acarya walked over to inquire about the student’s meditation.
And the acarya said, ‘I noticed that you are smiling in your sadhana, are
you repeating your ista mantra’.

Then the student very sincerely told, ‘Yes I am repeating my ista mantra,
and I am smiling because that is the meaning of the mantra’.

Then the acaryaji requested, ‘Tell me what mantra you are repeating’.

Then in quick fashion the student told his mantra. And the fast way in
which he spoke it, the mantra sounded just like the Hindi word for smiling.
Then the student very sincerely told, ‘So I am just doing what the mantra
says to do– that is why I am smiling in my meditation’.

And then at that point acaryaji understood exactly what the student’s
problem was. Instead of understanding that the devotional meaning of the
mantra is related with the divine idea of calling out to Parama Purusa,
instead of that the boy was just taking the mantra too literally. And in
his innocence the student was repeating the mantra and literally taking it
to be one Hindi word meaning ‘smiling’.

So he could not link up with the proper ideation of the mantra.

Instead with this overly literal meaning, the boy was just following what
the mantra said to do. That is why he was smiling doing sadhana.

At that point the acarayaji gently guided the youth in the proper
direction. He told, ‘Do not think of the mantra in such a literal way that
it just turns into one common Hindi word meaning smiling. Literally
repeating the mantra in that parrot-like fashion will not work. Rather when
you do your sadhana then when you inhale repeat the first syllable of the
mantra and think about yourself. And then when you exhale with full
devotional feeling repeat the second syllable of the mantra and ideate on
merging into Parama Purusa. This of ideation must be followed when
repeating your mantra– this is the of proper ideation. And when sincerely
following this approach then your sadhana will be successful.’

Thereafter, when the youth returned to his meditation he properly followed
this approach and his sadhana naturally flowed in a deeply devotional
rhythm– as he repeated his mantra and linked with Parama Purusa each and
every breath.

BABA’S SPECIAL EXPLANATION

In His unique discourse, ‘The Stance of Salvation and How to Attain It’,
Baba guides us about what can happen when one takes the meaning of their
mantra too literally.

On page 84 of SS-18 (1992 Edn), Baba explains how one sadhaka was repeating
the mantra ‘Rama’. The first syllable was ‘Ra’ and the second was ‘Ma’.
But the meditator was thinking too literally about each of the syllables.
So instead of ideating on the divine concept of merging in the vastness of
Parama Purusa, i.e. Rama, instead of that the sadhaka just became bored
with the literal sound of each syllable of their mantra– Ra & ma.
In that boredom, the sadhaka could not keep their mind fixed on the
syllables of the mantra. So when repeating ‘Ra’, the sadhaka was thinking
about ‘ma’ and when repeating ‘ma’ he was thinking about ‘ra’. In that way
the sadhaka totally reversed the entire mantra. And instead of thinking
about the divine idea of ‘Rama’, the sadhaka reversed the syllables and was
literally repeating ‘mara’– which means death.

This all happened because the sadhaka took the process of repeating the
mantra too literally. And in that way the mind could not sustain any
psychic or devotional flow. Just it got stuck in the literal repetition of
each of the syllables.

WHAT SHOULD BE OUR APPROACH

We should not allow such things to happen to us in our meditation.
Sometimes we see in sadhana shivir programs that some sadhakas get bored or
start falling asleep in their meditation. Sometimes this happens at our
various AMPS functions. In most of these cases, the sadhaka is unable to
link up with the expansive idea of their mantra. Rather than getting bored
and literally repeating each syllable of the mantra, we should just repeat
the mantra with the full thought of Parama Purusa in our mental plate.

It is just like when one baby repeats ‘mama’. The whole time the baby is
yearning for its mother. It is not thinking of the literal meaning of ‘ma’
on the first syllable and then the literal meaning of ‘ma’ on the second
syllable. This is not the way the baby’s mind is working– not in that
literal fashion. Rather with wholehearted love and yearning the baby is
ensconced in the idea of mother and crying out ‘mama…mama…mama’. And by
that way the baby gets its mother.

Similarly, in our sadhana we should devotionally ensconce the mind in
Parama Purusa and use the mantra as a means to call out to Him. This is our
devotional approach in sadhana– thus permanently ending the problem of
boredom in sadhana. This is Baba’s divine teaching.

BABA’S BLESSING

By Baba’s divine grace and by ideating on Him when we do our mantra japa,
then one will reach that pinnacled point.

Baba says, “Be established in Parama Purusa…come in contact with the
universal flow of divine nectar…for a sa’dhaka, the most valuable thing
is his ista mantra. With the help of the ista mantra and his personal
incantation, a sa’dhaka will attain enlightenment.” (SS-18, p.95)

== YOUR JAGRTI IS IN QUEUE TO BE SOLD: PART 2 ==

~ ANANDA MARGA JAGRTI SELLERS ARE MAHAPATAKIIS ~

Note: This letter is part of an ongoing investigative series about the
selling of AM land. Be sure to read all parts of this report. Links to
prior letters in this series are appended below.

Namaskar,
Retaining our Ananda Marga land is a key aspect of our growth and
prosperity. Baba warns us that no organisation can survive if they sell
off all their assets. That is why in various Procedural Orders, Baba has
declared that AM land holdings must not be sold. That is His direct
guideline.

GROUPIST JARGON

MARGIIS MUST BE ALERT

These days some of the groups not in power are telling how if they were
in power then all the land holdings would be safe and secure. Their
mantra is: “We will not sell AM land.” However, by their actions it is
very clear that all such groups support the principle & strategy of land
selling.

Today third front / EC and Kolkata factions are just making noise and
speaking out how Ranchi is selling AM land. But this is just their ploy
to befool margiis. Such EC and Kolkata group members talk as if they are
the great protectors of AM land and that they will safeguard our
properties. But the fact is that they themselves are supporters of the
anti-organizational idea of selling organizational land. They did so in
the past and they will do so in future. When in power, i.e. when given
the opportunity, they will do the same.

So margiis should not think that any leader of any group will save the
property of our Marga. Every margii and wt should be conscious, alert,
come forward and make a concerted effort to save the property of our Marga.

SELLING OF DIDI’S MASTER UNIT

As you may know, Ranchi administration recently sold our very old,
beautiful, and well-established Didi master unit, A’nanda Sambodhi, in
Asansole, West Bengal, India for 50 million rupees. There are a number
of reasons why they sold it. Many say that their great plan was to get
enough money to evict their rival party from Tiljala. And ultimately
they will sell Tiljala as well. That is the plan. Thereafter, the
mahasamadhi will be transferred to Ananda Nagar. That way the tiirtha
(i.e. mahasamadhi) will be transferred to Ranchi group territory –
either Ananda Nagar or Jamalpur.

Now Ranchi is also planning on selling more lands and jagrtis that are
presently under the control of other groups. As soon as they get buyers
they will sell, sell, sell. They will use such monies for their groupist
war chest.

So everyone should be alert. We should not let our AM property holdings
to become of the victim of the present group battle.

SOLD LAND & SHATTERED MARGIIS’ DREAMS

We must remember that Ranchi & Co. have already sold one very costly
land in Pune, Maharastra, India. This sale occurred 2 years ago. Yet
this land was purchased with donations from margiis with the sole
purpose of constructing a VSS office. But now that land is gone and
margiis’ dreams have been shattered.

OTHER LANDS THEY ARE SELLING

It has already been decided by Central Committee of Ranchi
administration to sell more land which is under their control. In
addition they plan to sell most of our vacant Ananda Marga land that
does not have any constructed buildings.

Nigama’nanda and Rudra’nanda have already sent their agent to deal with
prospective buyers. Some of these land parcels are:

(a) Brother Joshiijii of Rajasthan donated 21 acres of land near Panch
Dam in Nagpur, Maharashtra. This land is now for sale.

Plus all these lands are on the selling blocks:

(b) 2 acres of land in Gaya, Bihar near police line shooting range.

(c) 2 Bighas of land in Sasung, Latehar Dit of Jharkhanda.

(d) More than 5 acres of Master Unit property and 5 Kattha’ of costly
land in town of Chandava block, Latehar dit of Jharkhanda.

(e) Training Center MU in Nasirpur Varanasi which is just 1/2 kilometre
from Ba’ba’ Quarter Varanasii. Rudra’nanda is personally interested to
sell this MU, but at present Nigamananda Dada is objecting. Nigamananda
has emotional attachment to this place. Unfortunately his attachment
does not expand to other lands as well. The reason being that when the
mind is low and small it is hard to fathom that all lands in AM should
be protected, not just one parcel that “I am personally attached with.”
Dadaji lacks the requisite dharmic feeling; that is why Nigamananda
cannot be trusted to protect other lands.

(f) Centre has not posted any worker to the the ja’grti in Sangroor of
Ludhiana diocese for a long time. All along the ulterior motive is to
sell that ja’grti and now they are actively trying for it.

(g) There is very costly land on Delhi Dehradoon national highway on
which Nigama’nanda has cast his greedy eyes.

(h) There is vacant land in Sivan and Gopalganj dit of Bihar, that is
also on the list of sale.

(i) Nigama’nanda’s and Rudra’nanda’s sword is hanging on many Didi
properties in south India.

This list is just a fraction of the land they want to sale.

DO NOT FALL PREY TO GROUPIST TALL TALKS

So, we margiis should not believe in any groupist leaders. We should be
united without taking the shelter of any group. By Baba’s grace we are
to raise ideological issues, be alert and conscious, and fight against
the idea of selling land of the organisation. It is our sacred duty to
save our Marga’s property from the greedy eyes and bloody claws of
groupist leaders of all factions.

We must know that when our organisation sells land then we will never
get money to buy land. No one will donate to the cause of AM land.
Because people will think that any land donated today or bought today
will one day be sold by the organisation. So the inspiration to donate
or buy land will be burnt forever. That is the very real and scary
outcome. No one will trust us to oversee our landholdings in a proper
and responsible manner. That is the “after-shock” effect of selling AM land.

Indeed in this way development of our organisation will come to a halt.
That situation is that grave. So this selling of AM land is not a simple
issue, but has far-reaching consequences. This will create a dangerous &
recurring effect for our Marga.

We have to remember that it is wholly against Baba’s explicit guideline
to sell Ananda Marga property. We must pay heed to His call.

Let us also remember that Ba’ba’ always regarded our land as dharmasthan
and this is our dharmic duty to protect our Marga’s property.

BABA’S ORDER

By Baba’s grace He gives the order in “A Guide to Human Conduct” that if
someone tries to capture our land then they can be violently attacked.

Ks’etrada’ra’paha’rii ca shastradha’rii dhana’paha’h
Agnidagaradashcaeva s’adete hya’tata’yinah

Baba says, ““Anyone who, by the use of brute force, wants to take
possession of your property, ks’etra-land, abducts your wife, comes with
a weapon to murder you, wants to snatch away your wealth, sets fire to
your house or wants to take life by administering poison, is called an
a’tata’yii.” If any person or a nation wants to occupy all or part of
another country, the use of physical force against such invading forces
is not against the principle of ahim’sa’. Rather, by a wrong
interpretation of the term ahim’sa’ or by interpreting him’sa’ and brute
force as identical, common people will have to suffer from loss of
wealth, happiness, or other hardships.” (Guide to Human Conduct)

By their wicked ways and cheating tactics some are selling AM lands to
gain money to use at their own disposal. They are taking possession of
AM property and using it for their selfish ends. Per Baba’s above
teaching, we are to understand that those culprits involved in selling
our organizational property are also to be treated as enemies of the Marga.

AM LAND SELLERS ARE MAHA’PA’TAKIIS

Here below Baba tells how those who set a negative example that has a
recurring effect are terrible sinners. Read the following and reflect
how this also applies to those Dadas involved in selling AM lands.

Baba says, “To kidnap Sita was an act of maha’pa’taka. But he didn’t
kidnap Sita as a thief or as a robber. He went in disguise. He went in
the form of a sa’dhu. That is, he [Ravana] created a very bad precedent,
and henceforward no kulabadhu, no lady, will pay credence to what a
sannya’sii says. They may think: ‘He may be like Ravana; he may also be
a thief – like Ravana.’ So he has set a very, very bad example, and it
will have a recurring effect on each and every lady of society. So
Ravana is a maha’pa’takii, his action is of recurring effect.” (Ananda
Vacanamrtam, Part 31)

Just as Ravana’s misdeeds set a bad and lasting precedent for the
society, and is hence considered a deliberate sinner, similarly those
who sell AM lands fall in the same category. Their sin has a recurring
effect.

Firstly, it will give the idea to other groupists in need of funds that
selling AM land is a viable option. Secondly, good people will lose all
faith and trust that those at the helm of AM will be able to properly
watch over their land. Hence no one in future will donate land to the
Marga.

Thus there are two recurring negative consequences. Hence, there is no
question that – per Baba’s above declaration – such lands sellers are
grave and terrible sinners, i.e. maha’pa’takiis.

BABA’S BLESSING

By His grace He has blessed us with the opportunity to safeguard His
teachings and AM lands. Unitedly we can fix the problem, prevent future
land sales, and reverse the damage that has been done.

Baba says, “Who else is to come and shoulder the responsibility? It is
you – you are to do everything. You are the torch-bearers of human
civilization. You are the pioneers of human march, and you are the
vanguard of a new civilization.” (AV-14)

Baba

“Kare ja’tra’ halo shuru, bhule gechi se katha’…” (699)

Baba, when exactly my journey started I do not know; it is not in my
mind. I have completely forgotten the day when my journey towards You started. Since many lives, by Your grace You have been attracting me– step by step.

By Your causeless compassion I am moving in that divine liila– reducing
the radius gradually and coming closer & closer to You. How much I suffered on the way and, how many thorns pierced my feet and hindered my forward movement on the path– that I do not remember. Those memories are not in my mind.

On the journey towards You by Your grace I crossed the torturous fiery
blaze of the burning desert. And other times I got totally drenched from
the pouring rains of the thunderstorms. But, no matter what the obstacle,
by Your grace You always gave me the strength and perseverance to move on. Baba, by Your grace You are always bringing me close to You.

So many spring seasons and their beauty have come and I got intoxicated
by that attraction. And in Your longing, in Your divine attraction, You
filled my heart with devotion. And by Your grace I sang Prabhat Samgiita
songs and kiirtan with heartfelt yearning and longing. In this way my life
has passed– sometimes in dark moments and sometimes in effulgent ones.
But through it is, by Your grace gradually I have reached close to You,
under Your shelter. Baba You are so gracious. Baba, You are my everything…

== PLAN FOR KEEPING MARGIIS MUM ==

Namaskar,
As we know silent action is one very special and deeply meaningful teaching
which Baba has given. And it works in its own particular and special way.

And we also that our organisation is riddles with problems– a mess that
has originated in the upper echelons of AMPS. And it is those same persons,
and their lackeys, that try to smother or subdue margiis attempts of
protest and resurgence by manipulating Baba’s special tool of silent action.

A FEW ANALOGIES ABOUT HOW SILENT ACTION WORKS

Just as various asanas work to cure particular diseases and just like
how in ‘A Few Problems Solved’ Baba has given specific solutions to solve
certain designated cases, similarly silent action has its unique way of
functioning for opposing injustices and bringing people onto the proper
path. Means it works within its own specific sphere of influence or
jurisdiction — and not beyond that.

SOME MISLEAD IN THEIR OWN WAY

Unfortunately, some are trying to capitalise on the situation by telling
that ‘silent is the only way to approach or protest’. And in this way
silent action has become a tool in certain peoples’ hand.

The general sense is that in this material world, crude and cunning people
are always searching for ways to cheat and befool the common people.

For example when one crafty intellectual read the Bhagavad Giita then he
found the point that everyone has to face their own samskara, reactive
momenta. The basic theory being that people have to undergo the reactions
from their past life. But this point he manipulated in his own direction.

Because just see, then this negative intellectual created the theory that
you laborers must not unnecessarily make a hue and cry about increasing the
wages; your wretched condition is the result of your acquired sin which you
did in your previous life. In this life you should be “dharmic”– do hard
work with full patience and follow the commands of those rich mill owners.

Do not go on strike and do not make any demand about raising the wages.
Otherwise you will incur more sin and your future life will be dark’.
Then those opportunist intellectuals give the negative justification that,
‘your pitiful condition is your own self-creation and that is what Lord
Krsna says in the Giita’.

So see the hypocrisy of that jinani. He twisted Lord Krsna’s theory about
rebirth and facing the samskara. The point here is that exploiters always
manipulate good teachings for their selfish reasons. In His discourse Baba
clearly explains this very cunning tactic.

A similar thing has happened in the case of silent action.

HOW THEY MANIPULATE SILENT ACTION: Part I

Certain opportunists are cheating margiis and misguiding
everyone about this entire silent action theory. They tell alright, ‘If
this or that group leader is doing something wrong and doing all sorts of
injustices like curtailing margii rights, then if you are unhappy with
them then just do silent action’.

Yet all the while such opportunists are fully aware that the margii whom they are speaking with lives far, far away from Tiljala or Ananda Nagar and that
he has no opportunity to see those top group leaers.

Even then to befool that very simple margii, they tell him
that ‘follow silent action against them’.

But in such a situation silent action will never work.

For instance, you can imagine what will happen if simple village folk of
Afghanistan take silent action against top US officials. Such an attempt will be complete foolishness. Because silent action has its limitation. Its
hinterland is very limited. The person who is not living around you, who is
not in your unit, or not in your village, or not in your family, and not
living close by, and who is not in your direct line of communication, etc–
in all these situations silent action will not work.

Silent action’s arena of use is limited to the reach of one’s pathway
of direct communication. If one has regular communication with that
particular person then silent action will achieve the desired effect. But
if one does not have any communication with that person against whom You
are doing silent action, then that will be foolish.

HOW THEY MANIPULATE SILENT ACTION: Part II

Nowadays cunning people use this trick of silent action to befool and
misguide others. They tell ‘take silent action against certain group
leaders because they curtailed BP rights etc. You need not to do anything.
Do not propagate your ideas or problems in any other way– just take silent
action against them because he distorted Baba’s discourse BP system
which grants margiis a voice etc. So take silent action. But you should not
write any letter or protest in any other way. Baba has given silent action
just you follow.’ Like this they talk and manipulate some simple margiis.

Now the question arises that why do these intellectual satans create this
logic and give this type of suggestion. The reason is that they know full
well in advance that according to those adverse circumstances, silent
action will not have any effect. Time will pass by without any result.
And the era of exploitation will go on and on.

Many times we may have seen how high officials pay agents to misguide
others in the name of this silent action theory. They move around in all
the programs and spray water on the fuel of revolution. Whenever they see
that simple persons are feeling completely suffocated and want to do
something, then those agents misguide those disgruntled margiis that, ‘do
not do anything except  take silent action. You have the right to do
silent action but not anything else’.

So in this situation every sincere margii should know that cunning people
always misguide about the practicality and use of silent action. And
by this way they continue their exploitation in an unhindered way.

THE INHERENT LIMITATIONS OF SILENT ACTION

For this reason it is essential that each and every Ananda Margii be
acutely aware of how silent action really works. Here below Baba guides us:

Baba says, “Silent action will force strict adherence to our principles,
and it will put those against whom it is directed to shame.” (AV-23, p. 151)

So the striking point is that the practice of silent action forces the
person into feeling ashamed for their misdeeds. Through circumstantial
pressure silent action achieves that result. And for that, direct contact
is needed. Because if someone is sitting quietly in one part of the globe
taking silent action and the exploiting party is somewhere else far away,
then they will not feel any shame as they are completely unaware that
anyone is even taking silent action against them. So they will thus
continue on and on with their exploitation–Hence in such a circumstance
silent action will not work. So in such a scenario we should consider
another way to proceed.

BE VOCAL & RAISE IDEOLOGICAL CONSCIOUSNESS

And that way is consciousness raising: Raising the ideological standard
across the globe about the deeper aspects of AM ideology. Then
when all are aware about their rights and Baba’s teachings, naturally
proper corrective measures will be taken. The requisite social pressure
will be created and our organisation will be cleaned.

Everyone should write in with their suggestions. Kindly also see notes 1-4
below.

Namaskar,
Mahesh

Note 1: Here Baba reveals how misguided intellectuals take advantage of the
innocent masses.

Baba says, “The boot-licking vipras of the capitalists trick the hungry
shudras into believing that poverty is a result of their previous misdeeds,
and they will have to be prepared to wait until their next life before
receiving the inexorable decree of fate. This makes a group of people
passive fatalists and paves the way for the ruthless exploitation of the
capitalists.”

Note 2: Everyone knows that silent action is a cardinal human right given
by Baba. Baba says, “Silent action is a question of human rights.” (AV-23,
p. 150)

Note 3: In those situations that fall outside the purview or jurisdiction
of silent action we have to think and evaluate what our other options are
and how to move ahead.

Note 4: We should always remember this following Baba’s blessing:

Baba says, “He is always with you– Only move forward fearlessly with
unfaltering steps towards your Goal. May you all be blessed.” (SS pt 12, p.53)

***************************************
There should not be any confusion

Baba says, “Now why does He come in contact with the quinquelemental
factors?  Why does He come within the jurisdictions of the
temporal-spatial-personal factors, these three fundamentally-related
factors?  What’s the cause?  There are two reasons. One thing is, the human
intellect may get satisfaction after coming in psychic contact with the
Impersonal Entity, but the human heart is not satisfied with that
Impersonal Entity.  The human heart wants something closer, something more sentimental, something more pleasing.  And that’s why just to satisfy, just to give pleasure to, His progeny, He comes within the scope of these
relative factors.  Parama Purus’a becomes Ta’raka Brahma.  And the second
reason is that in this created world, in this universe, each and every
progress is a progress through clashes and cohesion.  And human beings must have sufficient intellectual stamina to move forward, fighting against all
those pebbles of obstacles.  When the human intellect fails to do something
new in helping society to move forward, Parama Purus’a finds no alternative
but to bring Himself within the scope of the temporal-spatial-personal
factors just to guide the depraved and degenerate human society.” (AV-12,
p.43-44)

Note: So Parama Purusa must follow His vow. That is He comes for
establishing dharma. Everyone knows that dharma is getting established by
His invisible grace.

When Parama Purusa remains as an impersonal Entity then the heart of the
devotee does not get satisfied. And when He comes in human form and teaches and guides the way to reach to Him, then He provides a ladder also. And with that help, devotees reach Him.

We know that ladder is the process of dhyana– which can link from form to
formlessness. That is why the culmination of dhyana is the merging into
formlessness– dissolving the mind.

Devotees always feels that Baba is residing there– in their heart.
We see in the history of devotion, that that each and every devotee in the
world felt that the Lord is with them. Indeed the entire composition of
Surdas and Mirabai is proof of that.

No doubt, jinanis and karmiis may be thinking in their own way, but
devotees feel that Baba is living in their heart.

Baba

“(Tumi) esechile mor bakul-bita’ne na’ baliya’ ka’r ghare…” (PS 4320)

Purport:

Baba, that time the place was surrounded by innumerable bakul flowers
which were blooming and You graced me by coming to my cottage during
that verdant spring season. With Your divine grace, You brought
devotional horripilation (goose bumps) throughout my entire existence
and You also vibrated the very pulsation of my blood. Baba, by having
You in such an intimate and close way, my life has become meaningful. It
is Your grace. Baba, soon after that golden dawn, Your liila moved into
a different phase. Because then You went away leaving me crying all
alone. O’ my dearmost where did You go that time.

Baba, since then I have spent countless days and nights waiting–
sitting by my window threading heaps of flower garlands for You. But
that was all in vain because You did not come. It is painful that now I
no longer see that attractive & charming smile because You are keeping
Yourself distant. Now I no longer see that radiant smile which I used to
see on Your lips when You were with me.

Baba in longing for You, ages have passed since You came close.
Springtime has finished and now summer has come. My entire garden of
those sweet, fragrant bakul flowers has dried up and withered away in
this hot season*. Now that same window– where I used to sit and make
garlands for You and wait– is full of spider webs. Baba, it is so
painful and heartbreaking how You have gone so far away. And my mind is
completely dry in the absence of Your divine presence. O’ my dearmost,
please shower Your causeless grace and appear in my heart in a very
intimate and charming way…

*Hot Season= In the absence of His presence, the sadhaka feels a
distinct dryness in his heart. Summer season– or hot season– has been
used as a metaphor to express that dryness in the devotees heart, where
one’s devotional feeling is lower. And this happens with each and every
sadhaka. Sometimes when one feels dry and out of the spiritual flow then
that is summer season; and when one’s flow of sadhana is good then that
can be compared with springtime because in their dhya’na they feel
greater proximity with Parama Purusa. But when one is experiencing the
dryness of summer, the best thing a devotee can do is to sincerely
request Baba to grace them by coming in their meditation.

== WT BEAUTY COMPETITION: PART 2 ==

Note: This entire issue is related with WT’s. We are not applying such
points to margii life as Baba specifically discussed how Wts must
refrain from such things. Wts have their own conduct rules – because
some are not following this whole issue has come to the fore.

Namaskar,
The wholetimer beauty competition is in full form here in Ananda Marga.
In order to glorify oneself, our Wts have taken to gaorava
(self-aggrandizement). This self-aggrandizement expresses in three realms.

In the physical realm, some Dadas and Didis apply cosmetics, perfumes,
and other beautifying tricks to gain stature, show their spiritual
greatness and “aura”, as well as impress and attract others.

This is the sad state of affairs for some of our Wts. Of course not all
are involved, but tragically some are. All of this and more is discussed
in the first letter of this series which focused on how some Wts are
turning to gaorava in the physical sphere.

In this letter we investigate how this disease of gaorava is taking form
in the mental and “spiritual” realms for some workers. This letter is
written with the benevolent motive to help and remind those who have
lost the path. We must always recall that Baba has given us all the duty
to gently remind and point out any in the Marga who are not following
conduct rules – including Wts.

GAORAVA & INTELLECTUAL LIFE

In addition to the many artificial and superficial ways that Wts have
taken for beautifying themselves in the physical realm, we should also
understand how gaorava gets expressed by Wts in their intellectual life
as well.

For starters, such persons always wish to portray themselves as “knowing
everything”. You may have met people like this. This is also the disease
of gaorava.

They wish to pretend that they are very learned and above the common
people. If we see someone like that we know they are suffering from this
disease.

Baba says, “Many of them try to project themselves as educated by using
their wealth or official status. They open clubs or libraries to impress
upon others that they should not be equated with the common people. They
pretend to understand and know a lot, smile scholastically with closed
eyes, and speak sparingly with reserve and gravity to ensure that they
do not unwittingly expose themselves!” (HS-1)

Such is the way of their behaviour. Baba has painted a graphic picture.
You may recall watching some of our workers fall in this very manner.

Another way this gets expressed is that after teaching a seminar some
big Dadas say, “I think my class was not very good.” When in truth they
wish for everyone to praise their class up to the sky. That is all they
want to hear. The proof being that if you point out defects in their
class they will be furious with you. So their whole intention is to be
complimented and praised. That is also the disease.

In contrast, a mother does not breast feed her baby in hopes of being
praised. This is not her expectation. She feeds the baby with great care
and love out of a deep sense of duty and internal commitment. The mother
neither expects recognition nor wishes to be praised on this point.

And with regards to those wholetimers giving presentations, let us
consider this: If they were delivering their lecture to please Parama
Purusa then there would not be any need to make such a drama in order to
get praised. A true bhakta does to please Parama Purusa and does not
care about praise or censure.

Those whose mind is diseased and are hungry for praise, they are even
ever-ready to do bad things in order to get praised. They do not have
the courage to do good works for fear of being abused. Such persons are
cowards; there are countless people like this in the society – and
tragically some withing the ranks of our Wt cadre.

So if any Dada ever asks such a question – “I think my class was not
very good” – after their seminar or presentation then we know that they
suffer from gaorava or self-aggrandizement, and maybe other psychic
diseases as well.

GAORAVA & FAKE SPIRITUAL LIFE

The next question is how gaorava affects and ultimately ruins spiritual
life. That we should also know as Baba has given the underlying
spiritual science.

Spirituality means surrendering to Parama Purusa and ultimately becoming
one with Him. And tantra means expanding one’s existence
psycho-spiritually with the help of one’s mantra.

When the goal is Parama Purusa, then our each and every activity in our
day to day life is focused on Baba. All our sadhana lessons and
everything we do from morning to sunset, and childhood to death –
everything is spiritually focused. Because the goal is Parama Purusa and
the mind is goaded towards Him.

But those suffering from gaorava think about themselves. Their goal is
oneself – not Parama Purusa. Hence theirs is the path of fake spirituality.

Indulging in gaorava (self-aggrandizement) means falling onto the path
of negative pratisaincara. Why? Because the person is not focusing their
mind towards Ista, i.e. Parama Purusa. Instead they are just involved in
their own personal ego. In that case the mind will become smaller and
smaller and gradually they will not be a normal human being. They will
become degraded.

What to say of mukti and moksa, such a person is sinking deep into the
clutches of animal life. Why? Because the goal was just their own unit
self – i.e. not Parama Purusa but their own little ego. In that case
they are sure to degrade. Hence the path of gaorava is a very dangerous
path.

Here is how the science works.

Baba says, “Ya’drshii bha’vana’ yasya siddhirbhavati ta’drshii – “As you
think, so you become.”” (AV-4)

When you concentrate your mind on your own glory and greatness then your
mind becomes narrower and narrower and degrades, until finally one
becomes crude like stone or metal. That is negative pratisaincara.

Let us remember that a sannyasi means the one who is dedicated to Parama
Purusa and their goal is one: To serve and please Parama Purusa. There
is no second goal. Otherwise they are fake.

TRUE SPIRITUALITY VS FAKE SPIRITUALITY

Hence, in the spiritual realm, is there scope for self-aggrandizement or
gaorava? In true spirituality there is no scope because in devotional
life there is no space in the mind to think about oneself. Devotion
itself means that the mind is focused on Parama Purusa. So there is no
room to think about any other thing – what to say about oneself.

But in fake spirituality there is surely scope. That is why we see many
hypocrites posing as great spiritualists yet their conduct and behaviour
is just the opposite. By this way people can easily recognise who is who.

They hardly like to do sadhana but brag about doing whole night sadhana.
They pretend to be strict when others are around but other times they
are not doing sadhana but watching movies and gossiping. But when they
get the opportunity to sit in front of others they brag about higher
practices and vishesh yoga. They talk about old stories about how Baba
blessed them. It is not difficult to recognise such people. They are
very narrow minded, money minded and groupist. They fight for post and
money. The best thing is to watch how they conduct themselves in private
behind closed doors. Then you can understand their hypocrisy.

WHY THEY FALL IN THIS TRAP

Why do people fall in that trap of gaorava or self-aggrandizement?

The first reason is that all come from animal life and fall prey to
certain lower expressions of mind. This has been described up above.

Secondly, the trend of the general society is towards materialism. That
means people are involved in their own external beauty and wish to
project themselves as being something great, i.e. superior to who they
are. This is all due to their materialistic way of living.

When general flow of society is towards materialism then the mass of
people fall in that trap. They get caught in things like
self-beautification and self-glorification. Then we know they have
fallen into gaorava marga (path of hell) and lost their Goal.

OUR DUTY

Now it is the duty of every disciple of Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji to
watch and see if anyone is choosing this wrong path of raorava marga,
i.e. hell. We should try to protect them by pointing them out.

Baba says, “All Ananda Margis, when they see other Margis acting against
the principles of yama and niyama, must make them shun this habit either
by sweet or harsh words or by dealing even more strictly.” (A Guide to
Human Conduct)

Thus it is our duty to open the eyes of those involved in this fake
beauty competition (first) / self glorification (second). If we do not
wake them from their stupor, they will continue to fall deeper into the
dungeon of materialism.

BABA’S BLESSING

Baba says, “It is the innate characteristic of the human mind to become
as it thinks – Ya’drshii bha’vana’ yasya siddhirbhavati ta’drshii [“As
you think, so you become.”]” (AV-4)

Thus those who are just thinking about their own so-called beauty
(first) / own glory and greatness (second) are bound to fall and ruin
themselves. We should help them climb back onto the path of spirituality
and think of Baba. Then they will truly become great.

Baba says, “To associate oneself with Parama Purus’a, the Supreme
Entity, is the actual sa’dhana’. There is no one greater than Parama
Purus’a, and so, when the mind ideates on Him, it expands.” (AV-4)

The list of Didis in physical beauty is much more and their name will be
listed in the next issue. In contrast, more Dadas are seemed to be
involved in gaorava in the mental plane. Please write in with what you
see happening with our workers in this regard.

Namaskar,
Gagan

Note 1: WHAT ONE DADA IS DOING

For example, here is one example of gaorava in the physical realm. There
are many such cases – this is but one.

Dada Rudrayamalananda is constantly applying scented spray and perfumes
in his underarms and clothes. Apparently he has a very bad body odor
problem. But the way to treat this is not by using crude cosmetics.

Those not careful about eating in restaurants and taking tamasik food,
then surely a foul smell is emitted from their body. That accounts for
why some Dadas are using perfumes etc. But that is not good as it goes
against WT rules.

Dada Rudrayamalananda is not a family man. If he was we would have
ignored this mattet. However he is wt and he should follow Baba’s stated
rules on perfume/ beauty products and food. In the next letter other
Dadas will be mentioned.

Baba says, “…Artificially perfumed things should not be used.” (32
Rules for Avadhuta, pt #12)

Baba says, “Perfumed oil should not be used” (32 Rules for Avadhuta, pt #3)

Baba says, “Any medicated soap, but not cosmetic or perfumed, should be
used” (32 Rules for Avadhuta, pt #8)

Baba says, “…Avadhuta shall not…use any article which is
artificially scented.” (32 Rules for Avadhuta, pt #32)

Thus it is quite clear that in various ways Baba wholly condemns the use
of fake beauty paraphernalia. No Didi or Dada is to use such beauty aids.

Naturally, since it is detrimental to one’s spiritual progress, sincere
margiis and devotees do not feel comfortable using cosmetic beauty
products because the goal of life is Parama Purusa – not superficial looks.

Finally, we should all keep in mind that females are more prone to use
such cosmetics. That is a fact. The proof being that the entire beauty
industry is directed towards females. But these days more males have
begun this game as well.

And about food Baba warns Wts about eating in restaurants.

Baba says, “Avadhuta will not take food in a hotel or a restaurant. Even
sattvika food taken in a restaurant will be treated as tamasik.” (32
Rules for Avadhuta, pt #20)

Note 2: MORE ABOUT THIS AILMENT OF GAORAVA

Some fall prey to the psychic ailment known as self-aggrandizement or
gaorava. This is when people feel a need to present themselves as being
bigger or better than what they truly are.

Baba says, “Gaorava is the second type of aham’ka’ra [ego]. It means
“self-aggrandizement”. Puffed up with vanity, a person will want to
project his image in an exaggerated manner. Often we hear somebody say,
for example, that they have a rose the size of a balloon in their garden
– whereas actually the rose may be the size of a ping-pong ball.
Constant indulgence in this type of activity converts the mind into
matter.”

“We have seen bulls moving about in the streets with an air of
arrogance. Such a bull creates a sound expressing the idea that it is
big – Ham bar’a’. But when the bull dies and ta’nt [vina string] is made
out of its intestines and musicians start playing on it, the sound which
is then emitted expresses the idea Tun bar’a’ – meaning thereby that the
bull realizes that others are big, and realizes that he has arrived at
this condition because of his arrogance.”

“In fact the inculcation of gaorava leads one to the worst hell. Just as
there are six layers, or lokas, of the Cosmic Mind above the crude
world, so are there six types of hell, six narakas, below the physical
world. The names of these hells are tala, atala, tala’tala, pa’ta’la,
atipa’ta’la and rasa’tala. Another term for rasa’tala is raorava naraka
– and a person indulging in gaorava will certainly go to raorava
[crudest state of mind].” (Ananda Vacanamrtam-23)

Note 3: FIRST LETTER ON THIS TOPIC

Here is the initial letter on this topic. This following letter
discusses the ways some of our Wts are beautifying their bodies in order
to attract a mate and compete in today’s era of extreme materialism.

******************************************
LONGEVITY

Baba says, “Spiritual practice makes the mind calm and quiet, and
maintains the nerves in a state of equipoise; and thus spiritual
practice increases longevity. Those Vaishnavites who are vegetarians,
who regularly sing spiritual songs, do meditation, perform virtuous
deeds and think pure thoughts, live longer than ninety years.” (AV-33,
p.113)

Note: By following the devotional cult of AM and abiding by general
health rules every sadhaka is ensured a long and healthy life. That is
Baba’s guarantee.

Baba, You have graced me and You have come in my mind–  in my mental
garden You have appeared. Baba, You have shown me the magical display of
flowers and You have allowed me to hold You.

Baba, whatever You have taught and whatever You have told, everything I
have kept in my mind, in my mental plate, by Your grace.

O’ my dearmost, how can I forget that very special memorable day when I
saw You. I could tell that that Your whole heart was saturated with the
deep feeling of mineness and love towards me. With the mental flower and in
the cycle of the seasons and months, with the passage of time, that very
love is getting stronger & stronger, more serene and pure.

Baba, by Your grace I have got You in my heart. Up till now I was just
searching You externally– moving here and there– but I could not get You.
But now You have come in my heart, so I have everything. In the secret,
solitary, depths of my mind– all my desires are getting satiated.

Baba, You have graced me and You have come directly into my heart. You have made my life meaningful…

VICTORY DAY WITH BABA

Namaskar,
October 17, 2010 marks the occasion of our Ananda Marga festival,
Vijay Dashamii. Here are some remembrances from that this great day.

As all margiis may be aware, Vijay Dashamii (Vijyaotsava) stands for the
permanent victory of dharma (righteous forces) over adharma (negative
powers). It is the grand celebration of final victory against the
immoralists– where the demon Ravana faces his ultimate defeat. Hence it is
a day of great celebration for sadhakas.

In the life of spiritual aspirants, challenges and opposition will come at
every step. This is the mark of movement on the path of dharma. And the
step by step victory over negative opposition marks one’s forward journey.
Here following is that unforgettable memory of Vijaya Dashamii in the
presence of Sadguru Baba.

BEING THERE WITH BABA IN 1990

Those days in 1990 I used to attend almost all important occasions when
Baba was giving His discourse, blessing, Varabhaya Mudra. And I can never
forget the auspicious occasion of Victory Day, Vijaya Dashamii 29 Sep 1990.

The whole General Darshan was organised in the jagrti hall because the Margii gathering was huge. You may know that on Sundays Baba used to give His discourses in the Baba’s Quarter, Madhu Koraka, Tiljala. But when the
gathering was more than 1000 persons, then Baba used to give His discourses on the ground floor of the Jagrti.

That particular day, by His grace, so much devotional attraction was there.
All margiis were rushing towards the dais 4 hrs before the program began.
Many margii brothers and sisters occupied their seats in front. It was so
crowded that due to lack of space people were sitting on each other’s
laps– their minds glued to Baba, eyes fixed on Him.

On the physical sphere it was quite uncomfortable, but even so everyone was
feeling very blissful.

I was sitting in the second row. When I was thirsty then I thought for 1/2
hr and I did not like to go away because I had fear that I would lose my
seat in the front. So ultimately stayed right there. Because so much
enthusiasm, attraction, devotion had filled the air. The whole scene was
charged with His incomparable devotional waves. That was a completely
unique day. I cannot find any words to express the blissful feeling that
everyone was enjoying. Just it was pure ecstasy.

BABA’S SPECIAL MESSAGE

So on that day in 1990 Baba gave the discourse on the subject of Victory
Day. And in the conclusive section of discourse Baba issued His special
blessing.  And here is this culminating part. I am citing it here below.

Secretly I recorded that very discourse. It is in 2 languages, Hindi and
Bangla. Thus far it has been printed in AV Hindi part 24 on page 149. So
I am translating as it is.

Baba says: “You have to build up society by your collective efforts. You
know when the weaver weaves the clothes then rats and termites engage in
trying to cut it. Then the weaver has to protect the clothes from rats and
termites. In the same way when you are building anything then without any
delay various types of “termites” and “rats” will try to destroy that. You
must be careful. Above all those who have a pious motive to build up
something, they ultimately get victory. But “rats” and “termites” do not
have a pure motive so ultimately getting destroyed is their fate. Just they
leave some dirty, ugly mark in the pages of history.”

“By seeing those ugly, black marks, in future people think ‘oh, it seems
this was attacked by termites and rats. Oh it appears that the termites and
rats which came to attack and destroy this, but instead those rats and
termites broke their teeth and got annihilated’.

“It is the universal law. So as you build up good things, be vigilant to
keep sharp eyes all around. Be sure to protect your work from “rats” and
“termites”. ”

Baba’s divine discourse continues:

“In the past females were preparing mango jelly in summer. And to shoe
away the crows & to protect the mango jelly, one boy from the house was
always standing guard with large stick in his hand and sharp eyes watching
for those crows. Same way you should always be alert & vigilant to save
your work from termites and rats. Then work will be done…”

“Today again you take oath to build up the earth by your own individual
and collective efforts. We have come here to beautify this earth. We will
make it so and we will go on doing this our whole life. This will be our
main collective vow.” – AV (Hindi) part 24, p.149.

Similarly in the early part of this 21st century, tamasik forces are all
around– inside and out– and by Baba’s divine decree the force of light
gains permanent victory. This is Baba’s special blessing on all sadhakas–
as well as on the entire collective.

Namaskar,
Anil

Note 1: VIJAYA VS. JAYA

Baba says, “You know, in Sanskrit there are two similar words, jaya and
vijaya. Jaya means “victory”, victory over the inimical force, but victory
of temporary nature. When the enemy is defeated, you become a jayii; but in
the next phase or in the next moment the enemy may again rise up, become
victorious — you may be defeated. And what is vijaya? Vijaya means
“victory of a permanent nature when the enemy is completely destroyed”. (V-6)

Note 2: AN OFFICIAL FESTIVAL IN ANANDA MARGA

As all are aware, Vijay Dashamii (Victory Day) is an official holiday in
our Marga. Here following is Baba’s description in Caryacarya how the day
is to be celebrated.

Baba says, “”Dashamii (Vijayotsava): Procession with music and tandava
dance, wearing colourful dress; then collective Iishvara Pranidhana and
Varn’a’ghyada’na, salutations and affectionate embraces etc, and
entertaining guests and visitors at one’s residence “.  (CC Part I, pp.44,
1995 Edn)

HOW WORKERS DEGENERATE

Baba says, “Pride causes downfall… Where there is the possibility of
downfall, the path may be good but it may not be safe. Karmiis, too, feel
proud when they think they have accomplished some work. Outwardly they may express that they have done nothing, but secretly they harbor desire in
their minds that newspapers may publish their names. A dexterous worker
falls prey to these weaknesses.” (AV-5, p. 20)

Baba

“Ke ghumiye a’che tumi ja’n, d’a’k diye ya’o…” (P.S. 2179)

Purport:

Baba, as the Savior and Controller of the whole universe, You are well
aware about who is sleepy and drowsy, and who has lost the path of
divine effulgence. Baba, You know everything. Those who have lost the
Goal, You always call them and show them the right path. Those who are
crying bitterly after facing their defeat, with Your divine compassion
You graciously show them the proper path for their forward journey– and
help them move ahead. Baba, You are the Sadguru.

Hence those who remain forgetful about You as well as those who are
always calling You with deep adoration full of longing and tears, with
both these two opposite types of people, You shower Your divine grace on
all– without any differentiation.

Baba, Your grace is for everyone. But crude people are not realising
that You are gracious on them also. Whereas devotees realise. That is
the difference. Baba, You grace everyone; Your greatness & glory is
beyond explanation…

== DOGMA: MY WAY IS THE HIGH WAY ==

Namaskar,
Here is another way of looking at how the current day dogmatic program
of Mahaprayan came into form– as well as why one day soon it will die.

Of course, most understand now that the the so-called Mahaprayan program
is a dirty dogma, however a few in their innocence still follow it out of
habit, out of ignorance, out of social pressure etc. So for those few,
unfortunately they just got sucked into this dogma.

But those days are numbered and soon all will place the so-called
Mahaprayan in the trash bin, where it belongs.

BABA HAS GIVEN ALL THE FESTIVALS
& DESCRIBED HOW TO CELEBRATE THEM

In our Marga, Baba has graciously guided us how to observe all our AM
festivals: From naming the festival itself to describing how the
occasion should be celebrated. There is no aspect which He did not detail.

TRANSFORMATION OF NIILKANTHA DIVAS

All are aware that Niilkantha Divas is the day that Baba was poisoned in
jail.

Immediately acaryas and margiis thought this should be a day to be
observed in AM. And for the first several years this occasion was
observed by fasting.

Then, later on, in one darshan, Baba sweetly explained that it is very
good that the occasion of Niilkantha Divas is being followed, but that
the way it is being observed should be changed. Rather than fasting on
this day, we should prepare and cook delicious food for all the needy
people.

Baba elaborated further, ‘On this day, the powers that be fed up poison;
in turn, we are going to feed the people nectar. Let us change that
poison in to nectar.’

Hence, ever since, Niilkantha Divas has been marked by the cooking and
serving of sumptuous meals to the underprivileged.

RIGHT DAY, WRONG STYLE

By this we can understand that Baba recognised that the idea of
observing Niilkantha Divas is proper, but the way it was being observed
was not correct. After all, human beings are human beings and mistakes
are bound to happen. So He graciously corrected the problem and now the
occasion is perfect in all respects.

MAHAPRAYAN: WRONG DAY, WRONG STYLE

The dogmatic program of Mahaprayan falls into an entirely different
category. The so-called day itself should not be observed. Baba has
clearly stated all our festival days and Mahaprayan is not one of them.
He knew that one day He would physically conclude His stay on this
earth, but He never ever indicated that the day should be observed.

Plus, He blatantly overlooked and never mentioned the so-called
Mahaprayan of Lord Shiva and Lord Krsna. This also indicates that He
does not appreciate observing such a day related with Mahasambhuti.

Finally, in Senior Acarya Diary, Baba clearly explains how to do Guru
Puja when not in the physical presence of Guru. Among other things, Baba
says that the physical objects one is offering should be given to the
poor. Plus He has given other guidelines as well.

With regards to this point from the Acarya Diary, it is obvious that
Baba is giving advanced warnings and details how to do Guru Puja in His
physical absence. He has covered the point. So this was not a realm that
He did not address. Rather He has given clear-cut instructions.

Hence when He has never said even one word about the so-called day of
Mahaprayan being an AM festival, then we should understand that it is
not to be included. It is simple as that. Baba had the opportunity and
knowledge to make it a festival, but He clearly chose not to do so.

Thus, the dogmatic Mahaprayan program is not a day of festival in AM,
and the way it is celebrated is also wrong: The so-called Mahaprayan is
sending the message that Baba is gone, yet our devotional feeling is
that Baba is here, in our hearts.

So the day itself is wrong as Baba Himself never talked about observing
such as occasion; and the style of celebration is wrong as the dogmatic
message of Mahaprayan is that Baba is gone, when our sadhana tells us
that He is always with us.

All in all, the dogmatic Mahaprayan program is a double mistake– one
which should be wiped away from our calendar and removed from their fake
appendix to Caryacarya part 1.

INVENTORS HAD THEIR OWN AGENDA

The groupist faction that created the dogmatic Mahaprayan program had
their own agenda in mind: To make Kolkata an epicenter; to make a
tiirtha in Tiljjala; to garner maximum money; to have all the world
honor Bengal; to get huge donations for Tiljala campus; and the list
goes on and on. So this idea, from the get-go, was based on
narrow-minded and selfish intentions. They did not at all consider the
magnanimity of Baba’s divine Personality, nor have the welfare of the
Marga in mind.

That is why they just got stuck in this dogma of Mahaprayan. They
thought “My Way is the High Way” and in that way they plunged into
their own dogma and disregarded Guru’s divine teachings.

BABA’S BLESSING

By His grace, He has given all the needed plans and programs for our
Marga. And where correction was needed, then He has also provided that
as in the case of Niilkantha Divas. So when the so-called day of
Mahaprayan itself was never declared and when the way it is observed
goes counter to our devotional sentiment, the it is quite clear that it
should be eliminated entirely. We should not fall into the dogma, “My
way is the high way.”

Baba says, “You should always remember that…He is seeing what you are
doing. He is hearing what you are thinking…He is always with you.” (8
May 1979 evening)

Namaskar,
Shantatma

****************************************
Relation With Atithi

Baba says, “An ideal householder should try to provide food for the
maximum number of human beings and animals. Disadvantaged persons and
guests: Do not remain indifferent to the service of disadvantaged
persons and guests. Do not consider their lineage, culture, or religious
beliefs while serving them.” (CC-1)

Note 1: In Baba’s above teaching, guest means not only those who are
close and intimate friends and relatives, but also unknown strangers who
are in need of shelter and food, passer-byers, and travelers. They all
come within the category of guest– according to our AM definition.
Sometimes then guests may be someone whom you may not have known prior.

And in all these circumstances our duty is not to judge them by their
so-called caste, community, or race etc, but rather to serve them as
expressions of Parama Purusa.

These days in city life, usually travelers stay in hotels, but often
these travelling to villages and small towns often depend upon the help
of local inhabitants. So in that case those travelers become our guests.
For instance, suppose someone was walking or driving on a long journey
and they realise that they could not go any further. Then they may have
to stay in a small town or village. Then it is our duty to extend our
hospitality.

Unfortunately in those modern era, many persons have become so selfish
that opportunists realised that starting hotels would be a good
business. Because it could be seen that hosts thought it was a headache
to have guests stay with them. This is especially the case in the modern
cities. While in remote areas they still consider the concept of serving
guests is an honoured tradition. As Ananda Margiis we should also carry
this responsibility wherever & whenever possible.

Here is another aspect to this situation. Just image how hard it would
have been to do pracar in those so-called third world countries if
villages had not provided the basic needs to our acaryas etc.

Nowadays in this 21st century, selfishness has grown so much that those
who have more opportunities do not care about others. This becomes even
more vivid then when natural calamities occur. In that case many times
people just think for themselves and try to take advantage of the
situation. Tragically, this is what has happened in at least one recent
disaster.

Note 2: In Sanskrit, Atithi means ‘guest’; and the etymological meaning
Atithi is A + Tithi, A = no & Tithi = date. So those who come without any
planning with regards to date or time is known as a guest; or those who
come without any forewarning. Hence the tradition is that when anyone
comes at anytime they are respected and received in the honoured way as
guest or atithi.

Baba

“Tumi na’ bale esechile, a’j na’ bale cale gele…”  (P.S. 1327)

Purport:

Baba, without saying anything You came and appeared in my dhya’na, and
now today without telling You just left– disappeared. Baba, I was lying in the dust on the path, but You just lifted me up and put me on Your lap. It is Your grace, O’ Parama Purus’a. Baba, my dwelling was old and tattered– broken down. And not only that, I was also without intellect and conscience. Indeed, my condition was so pitiful that I did not have even one morsel to put into my mouth. But, by Your grace, You bestowed everything upon me and You taught me all the things.

Baba, I was not understanding the dharma of human life– what human
beings should do, what are the do’s and don’ts– about all these things I
was not at all aware. To get You I did not do any sadhana. But even then by
Your grace You have taught me sadhana and You have blessed me with
perfection to move ahead on the path.

O’ my dearmost Baba, previously in my life I was not even getting the
status of a human being. All the teachings I had been given were full of
dogma. Baba, by Your grace You have poured the sweetness and given me a
voice and lifted me onto Your Divine lap. Baba, You have done everything.  Secretly You came and secretly You left– even then You have arranged
everything for me. Baba, Your grace is unforgettable…

== MODERNITY AND SPIRITUALITY ==

Namaskar,
In this ultra-modern era where life has become so complex, if we want to
save ourselves from rampant psychic ailments like depression, melancholia,
personality disorders, madness etc, then we have to think very carefully.
Because we are all living in the midst of an extremely difficult era– and
the problems are only multiplying. In which case keeping one’s peace of
mind is not a small endeavour.

If you want to know more about this entire idea which is based on Baba’s
guidelines, then read the following and contribute your own thoughts as well.

SCIENCE, COMPLEXITY OF MIND, & MADNESS

Due to rapid scientific progress, the present-day world has become
increasingly intricate and complex. Such that no longer can people keep
their mental balance as they have so many different things to think about.

From fixing the car to paying taxes, from raising a family to dealing with
health issues, from multi-tasking to future planning, from job security to
computer meltdowns, from divorce to infertility, from global warming to
competition within one’s profession, there are an ever-increasing array of
issues that people have to address in their day-to-day lives.

And with all this comes a similar array of mental problems. From a “simple
case” of frustration to heated anger outbursts, from mental stress disorder
to thoughts of suicide & madness– and everything in between.

This entire package of exponentially increasing worldly difficulties and
the rampant spread of mental problems is especially true in so-called
developed countries– i.e. those materialistic lands where money is king.
No doubt these issues are becoming more prevalent around the globe, but in
those places where materialism has been tops for decades and decades like
the USA, then these problems have become systemic. And if we are not
careful, soon they will be systemic everywhere. That is the very real fear.
And this is not just my opinion or your opinion, or the views of some
new-age wellness committee, or Dr Weil, or Deepak Chopra etc, this is a
quite common concern amongst all– everyone is thinking about this. Because
it is paralysing the whole society.

But only Baba has given the solution. In numerous discourses He has warned
us about the lack of balance between the inner and outer worlds that is
coming to a crescendo in this 21st century.

Baba says, “People have lost their tranquillity…peace is lost. What is
the overall consequence of this phenomenon? Mental disorders have become
rampant – more and more people are becoming insane.” (AFPS-4)

So Baba has issued the warning and side by side given the solution.

SOLUTION IS ONE

And through it all, Baba guides us that the solution to this epidemic is
singular– one.

Baba says, “The only way out now to save human beings from destroying
tranquillity is to adopt the path of synthesis [pointedness in sadhana];
there is no other way than this.” (AFPS-4)

So only by intuitional practice– sadhana– can one escape the ghastly grip
of mental problems that go hand in hand with a money-dominated,
materialistic way of life.

THE CONSEQUENCES WILL BE TERRIBLE

However, just getting initiation is not enough. If one is not pointed in
sadhana then they will suffer the consequences of various mental problems.
That is Baba’s warning.

Here we are not talking about brain diseases but rather psychic diseases
which leads one to the brink of a total mental meltdown.

And what is even scarier is that those suffering from the early onsets of
these psychic diseases may not even recognise it. And that disease will
grow and grow until one day their whole existence is consumed by that
degenerative and toxic syndrome.

So one must be very serious and sincere in doing sadhana.

Unfortunately many times we think that since we learned sadhana then that
is enough. But that will not do; that will not alleviate the problem. That
is a false sense of security and will bring one’s demise. Rather, the
pointed practice of sadhana is needed to save onself in this crude
materialistic era. Otherwise one will be swallowed whole and drown in
self-pity, depression, or other types of mental delirium etc.

DIFFICULT TO RECOGNISE ONE’S OWN PROBLEM

And on the top, again it should be said that the worst aspect is that the
problem starts and the person suffering cannot recognise it. Just as an
animal cannot solve their own physical problem as they are physical beings.
Similarly, humans cannot solve their own psychic problems as they are
psychic beings. Rather the way out is to make the mind spiritually
oriented. But this people fail to do.

That is why all around there are so many imbalanced and crazy people. Some
we may see on the street or on the news channel, or even right beside us in
our workplace or own household. Because this problem is everywhere.

Yet many times we cannot tell the next person about their psychic disease,
because their mind is so weak. That is the difficult scene and living
reality in this contemporary world: All around lunatics are moving.
Baba says, “Today the number of lunatics – people suffering from psychic
disorders – is on the increase.” (NH-LOI: Disc 1)

So this is the very real situation that confronts us.

And even scarier is that neither can such persons recognise their problem
nor can one say anything to them since they will get depressed and kill
you. This happens not just between strangers but with people living in the
very same household.

I am not exaggerating the situation. These are the facts which social
scientists & medical experts are raising. Many are speaking along these
lines.

However, only Baba has given the solution: Pointed practice of sadhana is
the way out– merely having the lessons is not enough. This is Baba’s
practical guideline which we all should realise in the core of our hearts.

LETHARGY IN SADHANA

Of course, theoretically speaking, we all know that doing sadhana is the
road to welfare. Many know this, nay all know this. But side by side, we
can say that spiritual lethargy is quite common, or even more prevalent.
Baba says, “Of all the different types of lethargy, spiritual lethargy is
the worst. Spiritual lethargy means not to sit for meditation regularly.
Those with spiritual lethargy have time for all other actions, but for
spiritual practice there seems to be no time. They say, ‘It’s already late
today – I’ll do a short meditation right now, and devote more time to
sa’dhana’ tomorrow.’ They sit attentively inside the cinema hall, but in
dharma sa’dhana’ they feel sleepy.” (SS-9)

Those suffering from this type of spiritual lethargy slide step by step
into the mud  of psychic diseases. So this is yet another pitfall to be
wary of.

PROBLEMS ARE MULTIFARIOUS IN NATURE

So sadhana is the only way out of this modern-day nightmare of complexity
of life. See here how it works.

In the past, people were not very developed but their life issues were
basic and relatively easy to manage. Acquiring food was the main problem
and that was their only issue to address.

In contrast, to survive in this present era, one must think in thousands of
directions all day long. Otherwise one is sure to drown.

To combat this, humans have resorted to more and more cheating, lying,
tricks, and duplicity in hopes of “getting ahead”. They adopt multiple
personalities: Thinking one thing, saying another, and doing something
else. This brings a split or division in their existence– thereby
incurring more struggle and strife.

Baba says, “Today human beings’ thoughts, words and deeds never coincide.
In civilized language what we call, “diplomacy” is also increasingly
practised. As a result, people have lost their tranquillity.” (AFPS-4)

And there are numerous examples of this in everyday life: A husband worries
about his wife finding out that he cheated on her; a businessman loses
sleep over embezzling from his company; a sister feigns friendship with
another and worries about what was said behind her back etc. And the list
goes on and on.

Because due to an outright vacuum of spiritual thought, everyone just
develops their own dogmatic views and they argue night and day with others
about this. Till in the end, no one can adjust with anyone else. This is
what we see happening– especially in the so-called advanced nations.
And again, this is all the result of a distinctly aspiritual way of
living– i.e. money oriented & materialistic approach to life.

Baba says, “There is also a lack of amity (love and affection) among human
beings. The cause of this lack of amity is the same: an outlook which is
not synthetic but only analytic, compels people to see the differences and
bring divisions.” (AFPS-4)

MORE MONEY IS NOT THE ANSWER

So even though their problems and mental headaches are multiplying in
various strata, the general people are indulging in more and more dreams of
getting money– falsely thinking that this is the solution. When in fact
money will not solve their psychic woes, and money will not bring them an
ounce of mental peace. But still, due to the shackles of ignorance, they
chase after money.

Even you may have met some margiis and acaryas who fall into this category,
as it is an easy trap to fall into.

ONLY SADHANA IS THE SOLUTION

However, Baba warns us again and again that the only escape from the
complexities of this modern world is more and more sadhana. Only then can
one keep themselves mentally balanced and disease-free.

Baba says, “If human beings want to save themselves from this catastrophe,
the only way is to march forward towards a single goal– Parama Purusa.”
(AFPS-4)

So if sadhana is done properly then all the problems can be solved but if
sadhana is not done then one will only invite mountains and mountains of
negative consequences and psychic diseases.

BABA’S BLESSING

By Baba’s grace may we all progress on the path of sadhana and achieve
divine emancipation and eternal bliss.

Baba says, “When people attain self-realization in sa’dhana’, then they
realize, ‘O Parama Purus’a, You are vast, You are unfathomable– and I am
small and insignificant. But I am a small fraction of Your immeasurable
limitlessness, and I will completely surrender to You all the feelings of
sam’kalpa and vikalpa of my mind and totally obliterate the distinctions
between ‘I’ and ‘You’.” When these distinctions of “I” and “You” are
dissolved, people become liberated from all bondages…In this state,
shattering all bondages, they attain the supreme stance of eternal bliss.”
(NSS)

Namaskar,
Karma Rasa

Note 1: BABA’S REFERENCES ABOUT THIS

For more information on this entire topic, please reference any of Baba’s
many discourses like ‘The Ever-Expanding Domain of the Microcosm’ where He is discussing the rise of mental tension and insanity in the so-called
modern world.

Note 2: SIMILAR PANDEMIC IN OUR AMPS

All are aware that in that pre-1990 etc, our AMPS was filled with sweet and
joyous thoughts. Everyone had love and affection for one another and there
was a feeling of unity among all. Everyone experienced this. But now there
are so many factions and dogmatic perspectives that we have fallen away
from our ideal and instead gotten trapped in division and strife. Indeed
now the differences are so great that various groupist camps want to kill
each other. That is what we are practically seeing these days. So in our
Marga also, sadhana is needed as by that way we can once again feel the
spiritual link that unites us all, generating good feeling among all.

***********************************************
BABA SAYS

“Along with the theory of spiritual inheritance one Cosmic Ideology will
have to be adopted and that ideology is that one Supreme Entity– the
Cosmic Entity– is the goal of all living beings. This spiritual
sentiment will keep human beings united for all time to come. No other

theory can save the human race.” (To The Patriots)

Baba

== Re: Mahaprayan Came from Islam ==

Namaskar
Here is a quote section from the earlier letter on this topic of how the
so-called Mahaprayan program was copied from Islam.

Now compare both: The tomb worship in Ajmer and in Kolkata.

They (1) both have tomb worships; (2) both are 6-day program of chanting
and kiirtan; (3) both offer free shraddha food; (4) both are annual
gatherings; (5) both entail requesting boons; and much more.

Plus in both the worshipers think a great saint died.

Although Parama Purusa, Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji, does not die but
those who attend think He has died. This point is both similar because
they feel He is gone forever.

So the Muslim saint died and those followers think he died so that is
fine. With regards to Baba, Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji, He did not die
but Mahaprayan participants think He died. So from participants
perspective it is 100% same. Both are death ceremonies. Both are places
where people go and cry.

Thus the Islamic program in Ajmer and the Mahaprayan program in Tiljala
are strikingly familiar. The latter is an exact copy of the former.

Yes that makes sense and I think they got inspiration to start their
“Mahaprayan” (MPD) program by copying the Sufi-Muslim dogma .

Here following is one new point.

The Muslim monk was called Baba of Ajmer or just plain Baba for short,
they were paying reverence to their spiritual leader by making their
tomb worship etc. By this way they attracted countless visitors and
devotees – as well as lots of donations.

Seeing all this, Sarvatmananda might have thought that if, “We create a
tomb for our Baba that will attract also large numbers of margii
devotees from around the globe and Tiljala / Kolkata will become the
epicenter of AM. He thought will be best for those in-charges & WTs of
this event. That will be ongoing benefit for ages and ages.

Sarvatmananda also may have thought it would “enhance our prestige in
all kinds of ways.”

With this mind-set, the so-called Mahaprayan program was born by copying
Islamic dogma.

Again the Muslims call their leader Baba, give respect and made a tomb
worship program. The inventors of Mahaprayan thought that: “A similar
methodology will be best suited for us. That is what we have to do.”
That was decided in October of 1990.

By this way all the problems will be solved:
1. Tiljala will be the epicenter;
2. Our monetary problems will be solved forever;
3. Our prestige will be unchallengeable; no place will have such a holy
tomb like Kolkata.

They thought that “This is an all around victory and a win-win situation.”

With this motive Sarvatmananda ordered all to follow a program which he
himself copied from the Islamic Sufi tradition. Now that is what we call
Mahaprayan Divas. And the “inspiration” behind this program came from
holy Muslim pilgrimage, i.e. Baba of Ajmer.

He also considered: “In eastern part of India the people do not know so
much about the Islamic tomb worship in Ajmer (Rajasthan), so most will
not know that we copied it from there. They will think it will be a new
idea and we will give it a Sanskrit name And it due course it will be
firmly established.”

Although I wrote all of the above, I feel happy because since I was born
into an Islamic family – and then became margii later on – by this angle
of vision I feel this is all fine.

Subject: Belief: ‘Baba is on My Side’

Baba

“Sukhe ele na’ko, shoke sa’ntvana’ dite ele…” (PS 3091)

Purport:

Baba, when I was feeling happy and content that time You did not come.
Those days I was so enamoured with myself and I was so involved in my
own glory that I did not even think to call You. So You did not come.
But when I lost all that happiness and when I become drowned in my
sorrows of self pity and when I was suffering and overwhelmed by various
problems, then by Your grace You immediately came and consoled me. Baba
in that desperate moment You graciously relieved me of my grief. Baba, I
did not ever feel that You are mine. In this life I was always suffering
from the vanity and ego of my own I-feeling. Those days I was thinking
that ‘I am everything’. Due to my ego I did not accept You as the
Supreme One– as my Goal. I did not take You as that most loving One who
can solve all my problems; I did not surrender at Your feet. Baba, even
then by Your grace You advented deep inside my heart and became mine.
And now I understand that You are ever helpful and that You remain with
me always.

Baba, those days when I was overwhelmed by that severe suffering, I did
not outrightly tell You about my problems. I did not openly say
anything. I did not express my pain to You. But because You are
ever-present in my heart and because You are my eternal shelter, with
Your infinite compassion You fully understood the desperated state of my
mind– You understood my sorrow. And by Your grace You instantly poured
Your eternal sweetness and love. By Your grace You filled my whole
existence with Your divine bliss.

Baba, due to my ego and vantiy I could not recognise you. You were
showering huge grace on me but I could not recognicse that. I thought
that due to my own qualities everything was happening. In those happpy
times I could not recognise You. Only did I begin to recognise You in my
sorrow. Baba, in my state of terrible suffering, when the mountain of
misery started falling on my head, then all my friends left me. I was
all alone. When I was happy then they were along with me but when I
became sunk in misery all those friends disappeared. Baba, You are the
exact opposite. When I was sunk in woe then by Your grace You
immediately came and removed all my pains and troubles. Baba You bathed
me in Your infinite love. Filling my I-feeling with Your bliss, You
surrounded me each and every second. Baba, You showereed Your grace and
saturated my heart.

Baba, You are so gracious. You are love Personified. You have done
everything for me. Baba, I surrender at Your alter…

== BELIEF: ‘BABA IS ON MY SIDE’ ==

Namaskar,
For a while the level of the group clash in our Marga has been at a
critical phase. Each faction is fighting for their own survival &
dominance, all the while thinking that Baba is supporting their party,
their narrow cause. Verily, all think that ‘Baba is on my side’. This is
the very delicate– if not tragic– situation going on now in our Marga.
‘Tragic’ because this is the very same syndrome that has brought down
all the various religions.

HISTORICAL PRECEDENCE

In the Shia & Sunni fight within the Muslim religion, both sides think
that by killing members of the opposite faction then Mohammad is
pleased. So both sides think that their preceptor is Mohammad and that
the other side is an intrusion of their religion. Both have their own
interpretation of Islamic law– both have their own teachings of Islam.
And for that, they end up killing each other thinking that Mohammad is
on their side.

Christianity is the same. All the factions think that ‘Jesus is my Lord
and He is with me’, and in that rigid belief they commit all kinds of
heinous crimes against other Christians. All parties feel justified in
their cause and think their teachings are the real Biblical sermons.
This is the height to which their conflict has reached.

So this type of battle– or downfall– is quite common amongst all the
dogmatic religions. And here Baba signals how it has happened in
Buddhism as well.

Baba says, “About thirty-five years ago, a war was going on between two
countries, the citizens of which have the same religion (Buddhist). When
the soldiers went to war, their mothers used to pray to Lord Buddha to
save the lives of their respective sons. What will Lord Buddha do? Save
this man or that man? Both have the same “Is’t’a,” but both parties have
totally forgotten their ideology. If they were established in the
ideology, they would not have gone to war. So therefore, man should
follow both the ideology and “Is’t’a”. One should be an ideologist and
an “Is’t’anist.” (SS-20, ‘Ideology, Goal and Devotion’)

Here the whole point is that when any religion reaches the stage of
illogical fanaticism or groupism, then they appeal to their Lord to
support their selfish cause, totally forgetting the very teachings given
by their Preceptor. And in that way, members of the same religion fight
against and even kill one another.

Islam, Christianity, and Buddhism have all sunk to this lowly state.

GROUPISM IN AM

Unfortunately, now all the groups in AM are marching down a similar
road. Read any groupist propaganda and stand outside almost any AM
function and you can see such things taking place.

For the sake of their petty interests and groupist survival, fights are
breaking out over jagrtis, Master Units, Prout bhavans, retreat sites
etc. All the physical properties of AM have been divided up and are
being treated as battles zones. Indeed, heated battles are taking place
left and right, and amidst it all, the various factions think, ‘Baba is
on my side’. That is the very real belief that permeates their mental plate.

Yet what they forget is that what they are doing is not consistent with
Baba’s teachings. They may think they have Ista, but they have lost
adarsha, i.e. His teachings. And when they have lost adarsha or AM
dharma, then how is it that Ista can be pleased. In that case, how is it
that Baba is really on their side? When they are hurting and harming
other Ananda Margiis for their own selfish gain.

But this is the level of where things are at: Avadhutas have been
murdered; Didis are being beaten and locked out of jagritis, land is
being wrongly captured and sold, presses are being hijacked, offices are
being broken into, and so much nonsense is going on. Each side is drunk
in the intoxication of their own group’s power struggle, and all hail,
‘Baba is with us, we are doing for Baba’.

Should these groups take a few more steps down this fateful road, then
they will all create their own silly interpretations of AM teachings as
well. Each will have their own Ananda Sutram.

Then truly there will be no difference between them and the dogmatic
religions.

FACE THE CONDEMNATION OF LORD SHRII SHRII ANANDAMURTIJI

But such groupists should stop and reflect. Because, while they may
think that ‘Baba is on their side’, clearly such internal feuding does
not bode well for their future. When a Dada is murdered, when a Didi is
harmed, when Ananda Margiis are victimised and abused, then clearly
someone is going to meet their fate– i.e. pay their dues.

Baba says, “If an Ananda Margi engages in harming another Ananda Margi
he remains under the condemnation of A’nandamu’rtijii till his conduct
is reformed.” (CC-2, ‘Society’, pt #14)

So even though, all the groups think, ‘Baba is on my side’, in their own
ways they are all going to face Baba’s wrath. Because He does not and
will not tolerate the harming or hurting of other Ananda Margiis. That
is against the very teaching of Baba. So no matter what their logic, no
factional camp is justified in such malevolent actions.

THE SOLUTION: FOLLOW HIS TEACHINGS

Although, things have sunk far below our AM standard, still there is
hope. The various camps have yet to tear apart Baba’s teachings. AM
ideology remains in tact and singular in form. And that is what we are
to follow– not any groupist conflict or factional agenda.

Indeed, our first and foremost duty is to strictly adhere to His
guidelines, that is the only way to overcome groupism. When the mind is
ensconced in neo-humanistic feelings, then such crude battles will never
occur. Rather there will be a joining of the minds and natural unity
within AM. Then really all will be doing for Baba as their actions will
be according to His teachings.

So none should lose hope– nor should anyone be duped into thinking that
any particular factional camp is standing for Baba and holding that flag
of AM. Because no one involved in any selfish power struggle is on the
path of dharma– ‘Baba is not on their side’.

BABA’S BLESSING

By His grace, His teachings will soon serve as the guiding light for
creating one Ananda Marga.

Baba says, “O human beings, frame the social structure considering the
needs of humanity. Do not try to do anything for your petty personal and
group interests…” (SS-1, Ch.1)

Namaskar,
Manindra

Solution

Baba says, “This has been our failing: that we neglected the spiritual
faculties of human life, we neglected the cardinal spiritual points of
life. If we are interested today in the welfare of this beautiful
universe, we should try more and more to accelerate the speed of
spiritual progress. If the acceleration of spiritual progress becomes
tremendous, then not only in the human world, but also in the physical,
psychic and spiritual spheres of the entire world — and not only of the
entire animate world, but of both the animate and inanimate worlds —
there will be tremendous progress. And this is what we want. Now we are
anxiously waiting for that crimson dawn on the eastern horizon.” (AFPS-5)

Note: Generally people do not realise this very thing which Baba has
explained above. To understand this fully it needs agraya’ buddhi
(pointed intellect). Only those who are blessed sadhaka can understand
that sadhana is the panacea.

Subject: You May Also Want to Know

== YOU MAY ALSO WANT TO KNOW ==

Namaskar brother.
As an observation I might add that our dear Abhidevanandaji is beyond
logic when it comes to defending any idea or sentence he puts forward.
That means that to prove whatever type of dogma he likes, he is willing
to prove right as wrong and wrong as right. And that type of intellect
Baba has termed as:

Loka vya’moha ka’raka

Baba says, “Hypocrites want to misguide the people by their tall talks
alone. Lord Shiva had this to say about such people: Loka vya’moha
ka’raka. That is, “They create disease in the minds of the people.”
Their aim is not to solve society’s problems. Rather, they are the chief
cause for the downfall, retardation and sad plight of human society. The
present crisis in today’s civilization is due to them. Their theories
are based on the psychology and intellectual extravaganza of the
hypocrite. You will certainly encounter many such theories in the social
sphere, the economic sphere, and other spheres of life. This is not the
problem of a single country, but of the entire intellectual world. Again
I repeat that the crisis in civilization today is due to the
intellectual extravaganza of these hypocrites, these polished satans.”
(AFPS-6)

I have since long been a critic of the 4 step-plan because it is my
belief that Abhidevananda is doing a huge disservice because he is
misguiding hundreds of sincere Margiis and workers on the issues at
hand. Certainly he is a loyalist of Ranchi and will remain so in the
hope of getting his Purodhaship.

Just a few observations:

1. Abhidevananda has been advocating an extreme hardline to anyone not
following Ranchi, labeling them categorically as ex-workers such as
ex-Cidananda, ex-Pranavananda, ex-Parameshvarananda, ex-Sarvatmananda
etc. In addition he calls all these workers and many more as defectors.
But Abhidevananda is an ex-worker because he falls in that same category
– he never follows any so-called organisational systems like RDS.

I have on occasion protested this use of certain prefixes such as ex or
defector to no avail. He has become an extremist with no intention of
benevolence, neither to those he decries as defectors, nor to those he
is intentionally misguiding.

2. Instead of taking a more ideological stand he is actually advising
people to stand down and submit to corruption temporarily by providing a
false hope that eventually the corruption will disappear. He is thus
running after a dream and taking many people with him into a fools paradise.

3. His constant emphasis on silent action is pure hypocrisy. I asked him
many times what is silent about the NIA (Non-Indian Avadhuta / tika) or
NIM (Non-Indian Margii) holding global meetings, making resolutions and
asking Margiis and workers to follow them? There is nothing silent about
that.

In addition he has created his own group (NIA, NIM, 4sp) but blames
everyone else (except Ranchi) for having formed a group or faction
(defectors). Never has Ranchi given Abhidevananda any permission to
formulate a plan (4sp), nor has Ranchi ever endorsed the 4sp (Ranchi has
never even implemented one single step of the 4sp), nor has Ranchi ever
given permission to hold global meetings concerning the 4sp.
Abhidevanandaji is thus indisciplined himself and misguiding many others.

4. His 4sp is pure farce. In the last point of the 4sp it says that a
new CC and Purodha board be formed with all Purodhas who may be
deserving or who are senior (and those who are workers more then 20’some
years or more). The problem is, Abhidevananda is calling all workers and
Purodhas who are not with Ranchi ex-workers. So who actually is left for
the new body of Purodhas the 4sp demands from which a new CC be formed?
If everyone else is an ex-worker it is of course only workers from
Ranchi who are left! So why not be honest and simply say that all those
workers from Ranchi who are eligible will form the new CC and Purodha
board etc.

But the point is, that is perhaps already a reality (excepting his own
Purodhaship of course). So what is the point of the 4sp then? It is pure
nonsense, absolutely useless. A pure waste of time and energy to
continue with this ridicoulous 4sp. Of course, most workers reading the
4sp think that any selection will be done from all senior workers
(regardless of their group affiliation). But the fact is that
Abhidevananda only means those workers from Ranchi will form a new body
of Purodhas since everyone else is apparently an ex-worker and thus not
even a worker anymore.

In addition Abhidevananda has never made any serious attempt or strategy
to implement the 4sp because I specifically asked him about that several
times. The only strategy is individual acts of conscience. But the
problem with that is, if a single worker speaks out as has happened
several times, that worker gets zero support and Abhidevananda even
scolds the worker for speaking out. What a hypocracy. This is what
happened to Pranakrsnanandaji in Berlin Sector, who then withdraw his
support for the 4sp and was transferred by Ranchi to Suva Sector.
Anyway, that happened a few years ago.

Note: Abhidevananda is also the director / moderator of margii-mail.
Each month he sends out a reminder citing the rules of margii mail: No
criticizing the organisation etc. However, each month on that forum
itself Abhidevananda speaks out against AMPS to his heart’s delight. But
then when one someone else does the same, he criticizes that person and
posts the rules of margii-mail stating that one may not criticize the
organisation. And he warns them if they do that again they will be
banned from the network. Yet all along, he himself is free to criticize
AMPS on margii-mail as much as he desires. Such the is extreme case of
his hypocrisy.

5. Last but not least, who has given Abhidevananda the right to call
anyone an ex-worker? As per Carya Carya and AM system, expulsion can
only be done by Guru Himself, just like varabhaya mudra. Because the
disciple comes to Guru and if they betray Guru or lose faith in Guru,
then it is up to Guru to expel or not. No other person can decide this.
After ’90, all “expulsions” have been done for group power and control.
According to bhagavad dharma, expulsion by human beings is itself
sinful. Because that is done for ulterior motive alone.

RACISM NOT SAMAJ

Abhidevananda is himself is sowing the seed of racism. He is creating
groups based on racist means such as NBI (Non-Bengali Indian), NIA
(Non-Indian Avadhuta / tika) and groupifying that way and calling as samaj.

Here is a fuller list of his groupist / racist dictionary:

NIA= Non-Indian Avadhuta/tika; NITA= Non-Indian Tattvika / Acarya;
NIM= Non-Indian Margii; IO= Indian Office; NI= Non-Indians; NBIO=
Non-Bengali Indian Office;

…And here are more communal terms which the NIA founder created:

IA= Indian avadhutas/ikas; NIB= Non-Indian brahmacariis; BI= Bengali
Indian; NBI= Non-Bengali Indian; B= Bengali; NB= Non-Bengali; BMPS=
Bengali Marga Pracaraka Samgha; HMPS= Hindi Marga Pracaraka Samgha, etc. NBIA= Non-Bengali Indian Avadhuta

All of this is highly detrimental and has a long-term damaging effect on
our human society. It creates a scar in the mind of innocent people.
Indeed there are multiple negative points.

First, people start believing that categorizing others by their
birthplace, such as Indian and Non-Indian, is something approved by
neo-humanism. When in fact this type of groupist or racist
groupification is totally against neo-humanism.

Then he has given a very defective idea about samaj which is not
available in any part of Prout. Abhidevananda just invented his own fake
parameters about samaj. Unfortunately, many half-learned people start
believing him that this is the samaj.

All these things Abhidevananda is doing for his selfish narrow interest.
Because of his ego he does not understand how much damage he is doing by
his dogmatic definition of samaj. That is ideological harm.

SUMMARY

First Abhidevananda spreads his dogma and then he labels it as
neo-humanism, samaj or in accordance with bhagavad dharma. That makes it
doubly dangerous.

It is similar to someone propagating sentient food yet saying
meat-eating is sentient. That is a double loss. First there is the harm
of meat eating and second is that innocent victims will never get the
benefit of vegetarianism nor get the teaching to eat plant-based foods.
Plus, on the top, they will also have ego that they are following
bhagavad dharma. So it is a mess all the way around.

Dividing margiis into groups (I, NI etc) and calling that as samaj is a
bizarre idea. On that very basis he is creating all kinds of vocabulary
as noted above. And in his communications he always repeats those words
and indoctrinates people into thinking that this is Baba’s samaj
teaching and “you should feel that you are NIM etc”.

He thinks this is neo-humanism and others not familiar with neo-humanism
think it is true. So Abhidevananda is blind and he is leader of the
blind. About such things Baba says that all the problems in history that
have come up till now is because of such jinanis.

Baba says, “Be careful of the serpentine noose of those so-called
intellectuals.” (AV-5)

Namaskar,
Conscience
